• The new vinyl pressing of the 1982 DC punk sampler "Flex Your Head" is now available. This is one of the must own compilations out there if your into the '80s D.C. hardcore. You'll find most of the important D.C. bands of that time on this compilation. Most play fast thrashy hardcore, sometimes too simple, but always honest & angry. Tracks from TEEN IDLES, STATE OF ALERT, GOVERNMENT ISSUE, MINOR THREAT, UNTOUCHABLES, IRON CROSS, YOUTH BRIGADE, DEADLINE, RED C, ARTIFICIAL PEACE and VOID. We're not responsible for damage incurred while slam dancing in your bedroom when listening to this. (Dischord Records)
  • HARD-CORE LJUBLJANA presents some of the finest hardcore bands from the mid-80's in the biggest city in what is now Slovenia, and is a quintessential compilation of Ex-Yugo hc/punk. The comp was originally released in 1986 and features racket from: UBR - probably the best known on here, and maybe even the best known Yugo hc band throughout the international hc scene // ODPADKI CIVILIZACIJE - blazing, raw, straightforward hc with memorable songs // TOZIBABE - Three-piece, all women, very dark punk band. Their once elusive Dezuje EP has been reissued and is now relatively easy to find, and is one of the most unique and brilliant punk records worldwide! Their tracks on this comp are more on the rudimentary side, but are still invigorating in that "inept + genuine expression" kind of way // EPIDEMIJA - More raging fast and raw hardcore - like a rawer and harsher version of early DC stuff, such as SOA // III. KATEGORIJA - Last but definitely not least, perhaps the strongest material on the comp! Similarly to the previous bands - raw, fast, pounding hardcore with convincing gruff vocals, and moments of attempted melody that never fail to explode into a full-blown hc assault! (FV Zalozba/Unofficial Release)
  • The image the term "Dutch punk" conjures up for many is that of the pitched battles during the squat clearances and the coronation of Queen Beatrix, in 1980. This is a shame as the equally tough, committed music that the Dutch punks made tends to get overlooked. Prey to many socio and economic forces, and often having to rely on its own ingenuity, Dutch punk was one of the most resilient and flexible of musical movements, spawning bands as brilliant as Ivy Green, Rondos, and as durable as Mecano Ltd. and The Ex. Luckily Pseudonym Records have released 'I Don't Care', a comprehensive collection brimful of brilliant, spiky and often innovative music. Exclusively restored, courtesy of dynamic 24 bit remastering from the original master tapes, and benefitting from an audiophile pressing on high quality 180 gram vinyl, this double LP compilation is a real "must-have" for collectors. The 37 tracks both highlight key players, and give a comprehensive overview of Dutch punk's finest and most interesting moments. This double LP also boasts 4 previously unreleased tracks and versions, an entertaining overview of the musical history of Dutch punk, and a wealth of obscure photos and related memorabilia. Compiled more or less in release order, and spanning the years 1977 to 1983, it also serves as a brilliant starting point for the curious, or those punk historians who may have overlooked the music that these turbulent years in the Netherlands unleashed. This compilation is housed in a deluxe 380 gram carton gatefold sleeve, and the cover is drawn by legendary "punk" illustrator Joost Swarte, who designed a number of classic punk covers. SIDE 1: 1. • Raw Records was one of the UK's first ever independent labels, having been formed in 1977 by Lee Wood. This was the second compilation they issued in early 1978 following up the ‘Raw Deal!’ album (Damgood 209). This reissue includes 4 bonus tracks including the ultra rare ‘Into the 80’s’ by The Now. 16 of the label's best tracks feature here alongside a comprehensive discography of one of the most important but vastly underrated indie labels of our time. Bands such as The Users, Killjoys, Lockjaw and The Unwanted later provided members for the likes of The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, UK Subs and Dexy's Midnight Runners whilst the scarcity of Raw's releases made them highly prized collectors' items. Two Soft Boys tracks from one of the rarest Raw singles fetaure here, unavailable elsewhere. Essential listening for any an Killeded by Death/Bloodstains Across.

  • This was one of the very first punk rock records to come out of Finland. Although Love Records were nearly bankrupt by the end of the seventies, they still managed to take part in releasing some of the most important ’77 punk rock records in the country. Pohjalla was a showcase of the best young talent in the local punk scene at the time, with all material recorded specifically for this album. There have been a few CD reissues over the years, but this is the first time the album is reissued on vinyl. Black vinyl, 500 copies. SIDE 1: 1. 1978 - Elektroninen Xtaasi 2. • Soul Jazz Records’ new Punk 45 release documents the first radical underground punk bands to come out of France including Metal Urbain (the first group ever to be signed to Rough Trade Records), Marie et Les Garçons, Asphalt Jungle, through to the earliest experimental cold wave/minimal wave electronic groups such as Kas Product, Charles de Goal and A3 Dans le WC who emerged at the start of the 1980s. The accompanying large 44-page outsize booklet shows how punk in France emerged out of the country’s history of rebellion and revolution (from Serge Gainsbourg to the Paris ‘68 riots) as well as a love for American punk and proto bands like The New York Dolls and The Stooges, and was kick-started by witnessing the first UK punk bands (including the Sex Pistols who played in Paris in Sep 1976). It also explains how French revolutionary, artistic and intellectual ideas influenced the birth of punk in both New York (Dadaism and Surrealism, Rimbaud and Voltaire) and in Britain (Situationism), how Paris based art collective Bazooka influenced the work of Jamie Reid and The Sex Pistols, and more besides. The booklet features extensive text, exclusive photography as well as interviews with key French figures in the movement including Marc Zermati (Skydog Records), Patrick Eudeline (Asphalt Jungle), Michel Esteban (Ze Records) and Eric Debris (Metal Urbain). Soul Jazz Records’ new Punk 45 album comes as a heavyweight double vinyl LP with gatefold sleeve, inserts, full sleeve notes + download code and also as a deluxe CD pack + 50-page outsize booklet and as a digital album. This is the latest in Soul Jazz Records’ Punk 45 series which documents punk around the world, following on from earlier releases Punk 45: Kill The Hippies (USA punk), Punk 45: There Is No Such Thing As Society (UK punk and post-punk), Punk 45: Sick on You (proto-punk), Punk 45: Burn, Rubber City Punk (Akron), Punk 45: Extermination Nights in The Sixth City (Cleveland) and Punk 45: Chaos in the City of Angels and Devils (Los Angeles) as well as the book Punk 45: Singles Cover Art of Punk with Jon Savage. The aim of the Punk elää 7″ box series is to offer people the chance to digest these often impossibly rare and expensive records in their original 7 inch format. Each box comes with an insert with text from Fenno-punk historian Juho Hänninen. The second box set, Systeemissäkö vika?!? (Something Wrong With The System?!?) offers three replicas of privately pressed Finnish punk seven inches from 1980. The most famous title here is the debut seven inch by RATTUS, Khomeini-Rock. Known for their classic hardcore records such as WC räjähtää (1982), the band’s first single was a self-financed affair of 200 copies only. This new facsimile edition presents a rare chance to hear how the band’s early steps in search of their style sounded like. Lapsuuden Loppu (Childhood’s End) existed for a brief period first in 1979 and then with another lineup in 1980. This latter version of the band, who hailed from northern Finland, close to the Swedish border, wanted to steer clear of new wave which was rearing its head and becoming fashionable, and stuck to hard-hitting old school punk. They managed to self-release a self-titled seven inch before splitting up, original copies now almost impossibly rare to find. Systeemi, whose debut single also gave this set its title, differs from many of their contemporary diy punk rock groups in that they made a second 7 inch too, although not until 1983. This 1980 debut, Systeemissäkö vika?!? was the fruit of youngsters that met each other at a vocational school in Jyväskylä, central Finland, in the late seventies. They named the band Systeemi in 1979 and entered the studio on the spring of 1980. The self-released record, as with all titles in this set, has become a holy Grail for punk rock collectors due to its obscurity and extremely low pressing run. (Svart Records)
  • Part 3 of our Finnish punk 7" reissue series. The aim of the Punk elää 7″ box series is to offer people the chance to digest these often impossibly rare and expensive records in their original 7 inch format. Each box comes with an insert with text from Fenno-punk historian Juho Hänninen. The third box set Ne tekee meistä tähtiä offers three replicas of privately pressed Finnish punk seven inches from 1980. BRUPS started in Vaasa in the late 1970’s. The band occasionally played shows around Vaasa area, and even performed their song ‘Rampton’ on national television. The lead singer moved to Sweden in 1982, and eventually the band split up. BRUPS returned in 2000 with a new lineup, but this highly sought after single is the only thing they originally released in 1980. NIRVANA started in Ruovesi in 1976. In their early days the band mostly played cover songs, and performed live in Ruovesi and surrounding cities. In 1980 the self-released singles from Finnish punk & new wave bands inspired Nirvana to make their own record, which is included in this box set. The B-side of the original single is very distorted, which was caused either by a damaged master tape or a mistake at the pressing plant. This reissue has been carefully restored and remastered to make the B-side sound as good as possible. OUTO ELÄMÄ was formed in Joensuu in 1979. The band was very active in the local scene and played dozens of shows in their first six months. Eventually they recorded a demo at their friends’ rehearsal place with the intention of getting a proper record deal. Unfortunately the band were left unsigned, and the complete demo wasn’t released until 1998, but the band self-released two of the tracks as a 7″ single, which has become a highly sought after collectors item and now sells for ridiculous prices. • Originally available only on cassette in 1988 as the second release from one of the most active hardcore punk labels in Poland, QQRYQ. This release was unique. It was the only international compilation to document the punk scene from the Warsaw Pact bloc in the 1980's. There were substantial difficulties getting music and publications from neighboring countries, and more so from western Europe than from the east of Europe due to harsh border control, censorship, and repression. For that reason, this compilation is an important and unique document from the era. Recordings and zines were often smuggled across borders, and the risk for doing so was real, as evidenced by the complete confiscation of the "Inside" zine and the arrest of Micha from Namenlos at the Polish/East German border. Establishing contact between Piotr Pietia Wierzbicki of QQRYQ and Herne Pietzker, who was a main influencer in the east Berlin scene, resulted in an exchange of information, reports with the GDR being published in the “QQRYQ” fanzine, and a stronger connection between people in east Berlin and Warsaw. In addition, Polish bands began to get invited to perform in Germany and vice versa. The legacy of this cooperation, one which started over thirty years ago, is still used by new generations of punk bands. A similar situation occurred with the Hungarian scene, where the band Trottel was a frequent guest at shows in Poland. The compilation "We are the flowers in the red zone" contains recordings of bands from East Germany, Hungary and Poland and is marked as a “vol.1”. The second part of the sampler was supposed to contain recordings from other countries of the Eastern Bloc, but this never happened. The bands included in this first compilation are ANDREA’S AUSLAUF, WARTBURGS FÜR WALTER and the combined forces of NAMENLOS and KEIN TALENT from East Germany (recorded live on their illegal tour in Poland 1987, organised by QQRYQ). The Hungarian scene was represented by DIE TROTTEL and BIZTONSAGI TANACS, while Poland offered recordings of the bands DEZERTER, TRYBUNA BRUDU, and A.P.S.F. (i.e. ANTI-POLISH SCIENCE FICTION). The vinyl reissue of the compilation contains the full version of the recordings (some of the tapes were cut off), and two booklets: the first with liner notes from Pietia and an interview with him from the book "Warschauer Punk Pact" by Alexander Pehlemann, tour stories about Polish shows from the German bands Namenlos and Wartburgs Für Walter, and reprints of East German reports from “QQRYQ” zine along with archival photos. Booklet # 2 is a faithful reproduction of the "Inside" # 1 zine from East Berlin, which was printed in Warsaw and smuggled across borders, where the entire edition was confiscated by the police and many years later exactly one and only one copy was found in the files of the Stasi. On the occasion of the anniversary of the fall of the Eastern Bloc, this is a great opportunity to recall how the cooperation inside the "Happy Eastern Bloc" looked like as we present raw punk recordings created behind the Iron Curtain from this important period. This is coming out as a co-release / cooperation between Warsaw Pact Records (Poland), Edition Iron Curtain Radio (a division of Major Label), Zonic (Germany) and Trottel Records (Hungary). https://warsawpact.bandcamp.com/album/we-are-the-flowers-in-the-red-zone-lp
  • - 46 bands pay homage to influential guitarist MIKE ATTA of legendary hardcore band THE MIDDLE CLASS, in his battle against cancer. - CIRCLE JERKS, NOFX, GERMS, NECROS, OFF!, ADRENALIN O.D., THE FIX, REDD KROSS, VATICAN COMMANDOS, THE F.U.'S, NERVOUS GENDER, BIG BOYS, MEATMEN, WHITE FLAG, 7 SECONDS, SCREAM, NEGATIVE APPROACH, MUDHONEY and many more! - This limited edition double LP features many rare, classic & unreleased tracks, including vinyl-only exclusives! - All profits go to help Mike's battle against cancer. "When the good guys at Burger Records asked me to curate this compilation, a benefit for Middle Class guitarist Mike Atta's cancer treatments, I said yes in a heartbeat. Middle Class changed my life, and the sound of every other punk and hardcore band living in the shadow of their brilliant 1978 debut 7" EP "Out Of Vogue"; I owed this to Mike Atta. We ALL did. Middle Class, consisting of the three Atta brothers: Jeff on vocals, Bruce on drums, Mike on guitar, and their school friend Mike Patton on bass (and later Matt Simon on drums), were already turning heads in the nascent 1977 LA punk scene, as the first band from "Behind The Orange Curtain" to be accepted as genuine in the clique-laden Hollywood punk rock scene of 1977. Middle Class were the "real" deal. Respected and revered by the well earned egos of the "Hollywood Scene" punks, pale imitation groups surfaced around their original "sound", and generic "hardcore" bands appeared, while they matured and changed, leaving inspired people like Keith Morris in their happy wake encouraged to start bands themselves. When I started making calls about this benefit record, EVERY band I contacted said "yes", including bands that normally do not give songs to compilations. Barry Henssler of the Necros summed up succinctly what every band basically said when I asked if they'd participate: "That first record is crucial, of course." Bands picked classic tracks from their back catalogs, some even chose unreleased tracks or rarities, and some were so enthused they recorded new songs in no time flat. Mike Atta even came up with an unreleased outtake from the "Homeland" sessions. Mike's cancer had been in remission, but came back shortly after that reunion gig. The band has kept playing, before, after and in between some very intense cancer treatments, and hopefully will continue to do so. " Pat Fear White Flag (Munster Records)

  • Another killer classic back in print! When it came out in 1984, Varukers and Discharge were the two most raging and intense of the UK bands to ratchet punk up to hardcore speed and power in the early 80's. This LP sees Varukers delivering top notch hardcore punk, the guitar tone and riffage are savage, the vocals raw and powerful. The guitar has a bit of the metallic crunch that would permeate hardcore in the future, but still remains grounded in punk. This Lp ranks with Discharge's "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing" as an example of UK hardcore punk at its very best. (Havoc Records)
  • Varukers live at the Bierkeller at the peak of their career! The 16-song set includes all the classics from their early-'80s output such as "Die For Your Government," "Neglected" and "Protest To Survive" among many others. Absolute pure Brit-punk mayhem! (Radiation Records)
  • In 1985, VERBAL ABUSE recorded this seminal album after moving from Texas to San Francisco a few years prior much like their peers in D.R.I., living on a diet supplied by soup kitchens and whatever else they could get their hands on, epitomizing the term hardcore. "just an american band" is hardcore at its most raw and primal, a testament to a time when to be hardcore, you had to live hardcore. The band were a soundtrack to a scene still in it’s infancy, a scene that rallied and stood firm against the outside world. Also contains large booklet with lyrics, photos, and commentary from the band. (Beer City Records)
  • At least, 1995 wasn't the best year for thrash-metal/hardcore. Grunge was totally running the scene especially in America. The underground scene had a really good health and this was the place for VERBAL ABUSE. They left their punk and fun roots aside to write a good selection of tracks mixing the best stuff from hardcore, metal and thrash ending it all in this album. Maybe not the best stuff for both metal and punk's scene but a great step in this music genre named crossover. Beat Generation is mora than proud to release this album for the first time in vinyl, limited to 500 copies with same artwork for cover and insert. Official reissue.

  • This was about time to be available again! Anthology of this great French '80s punk band! This band has been underrated for years, but not forgotten! • "Surprise! Stockholm’s finest, Viagra Boys are back with an incredible EP. They’ve also announced some tour dates for November too. One of them being here in Manchester the day after my birthday. Feel free to get me a ticket, I won’t be mad. For now, let’s get into this EP. Common Sense consists of 4 songs that will unapologetically annihilate you. Sebastian’s voice never sounded better, and that sax will always be a welcomed sound on a Viagra Boys song. The title track feels like Sebastian having a word with himself, but at the same time you can think of about 5 people this song could be applicable to. We all know someone who may go too far and is a little too self-destructive. The way in which Sebastian sings this is like someone who is completely wired at 4am and is having a heart to heart with themselves. It’s a deep song, and although the humour is there it is much more subtle. It is a heavy song, lyrically and it really does hit you. Lick The Bag where oh where do we even start with this. It’s a rebellious song, and you can completely imagine everyone going batshit to this at their shows. There is something so sordid and beautifully depraved about this, and fellow shrimps will be obsessed with this. Viagra Boys are an exciting band, and even that doesn’t do them justice. Their cult-like following and dedication from the fans is truly beautiful. Lick The Bag will hopefully become everything Sports has become. An iconic song for our generation. The thing is, Viagra Boys just put out incredible music and their songs just mess with your mind. That’s part of the charm. Everything about what they do just corrupts your mind, and you probably wouldn’t have it any other way. I love everything about their slick style, and how they just do it their way. It is truly unlike anything else, and this new EP is a perfect demonstration of this." Olivia https://www.50thirdand3rd.com (Year0001)
  • VICTIMS | sirens | LP

    18.00 incl. tax
Tankcrimes will proudly deliver the brand new LP from long-running Stockholm hardcore crust warriors, VICTIMS, with the April release of the band’s sixth album, Sirens. In a coordinated attack with the LP’s impending release, the band will return to North America preceding the street date of Sirens, with a string of West Coast dates beginning in late March. Surging with a dozen boiling new anthems, VICTIMS delivers their first full-length since 2011’s acclaimed A Dissident LP, the band continuing to bridge slightly new flourishes into their exceptionally tried-and-trusted attack. With equal parts morose and triumphant d-beat fury, Sirens was recorded at Studio Gutterview by Fred Estby (Dismember, At The Gates, Refused) and mastered at Audiosiege by Brad Boatright (Iron Reagan, Nails, Integrity), and features the expected white-knuckled surges of angst as well as some more expansive elements throughout the album, all enshrouded in a barbed-wire vocal delivery, packed with unstoppable gang-chants and inescapable hooks. • Scorched Earth marks the long awaited debut LP from the UK’s ultimate misfit squad, Vile Spirit. After well loved demo and promo tapes, Scorched Earth marks a major step up in terms of musical landscape and craft as members have sharpened their teeth touring Europe and being active members of the UK hardcore punk scene. Somehow they have managed to sew together influences such as United Mutation, Integrity and Black Metal into a noisy mass of hard as hell tunes with fuzzed out guitars burning your ear drums whilst being punched to death by relentlessly rolling drums excelling at unpredictable rhythmical directions. Meanwhile mid-tempo songs like Going Home march along, snarling in the darkness, creating an atmospheric backdrop for those who prefer to awaken at night. Vocalist Ben summons a cynical view of the world, conjuring tales of the survival of mankind and a contempt for the world. Bursting onto the UK hardcore punk scene three years ago the members have never ceased to play in and create numerous bands such as Gutter Knife, Saliva, and Chubby and the Gang. They originally formed part of the new generation of Brighton punks re-energising the scene there alongside bands like State Funeral, Never and label mates Imposter, whilst members finished high school or started University. Joining the band on second guitar is Rory O’Neill, singer of Imposter, and responsible for the artwork on Scorched Earth. Enjoy, and be damned upon the scorched Earth. Recorded and mixed by James Atkinson at The Stationhouse Mastered by Will Killingsworth Artwork by Rory O'Neill. (Quality Control Records)
  • VIRUS | 1984 demos | LP

    14.00 incl. tax
One of (at least) two 80s UK bands using the moniker, not to mention the (at least) two bands from the states who chose it as well. This Virus originally formed in the summer of 1983 in Gillingham, Dorset, only managed to crank out two demo tapes before splitting up, but the second, "You Can't Ignore It Forever," is a brilliant slab of UK/anarcho punk that is loaded with fucking fantastic tunes. They had a track ("Oven Overture," from this demo) on a Mortarhate comp after they called it quits, and then 1/2 of the band started up again two decades later. Described as a mix between the Subhumans, Amebix, and Flux of Pink Indians Virus have that raw angry sound , not afraid to be slow like the Mob they will sit perfectly on your shelf alongside Alternative and Omega Tribe. This is official reissue their second demo "you can't ignore it forever" originally released as a cassette tape in 1984 plus bonus songs from their first demo. (Vomitopunkrock Records)
