Nausea's sole full length offering 'Extinction' finally available on wax again after more than two decades via Svart Records in December After releasing the Cybergod/Lie Cycle 12” EP, Svart Records is set to continue reissuing the work of New York’s most legendary crust thrashers, Nausea. The band’s only full-length album, Extinction, was originally released in 1990 by Profane Existence in the US and Meantime Records in the UK. Now, Svart Records is proud to present this cult album with remastered sound, gatefold covers, booklet, and new album artwork taken from the poster included with the original pressing of the Extinction vinyl. While Nausea’s timeline may not have been the longest, their influence on hardcore, punk, and crust is massive. Nausea elevated the game with the raging dueling vocals of Amy and Al, blending classic UK crust and anarcho-punk elements. Their sound echoes the rock’n’roll spirit of Discharge and Motörhead, alongside the epic metal-punk fusion reminiscent of Sacrilege and Slayer, all infused with a sociopolitical message and the experimental flair of Crass. Their lyrics depict a post-apocalyptic world akin to Amebix, with bleak themes, such as, "The world is growing weaker, with the passing of each day. Riding the west winds. The fetid stench of decay. Resources dwindle into the consumerist machine. As mechanical vultures pick the carcass of our world clean." Extinction will be released on Svart exclusive white/black marble vinyl, limited pink vinyl, limited transparent green vinyl, classic black vinyl, and digital platforms. Also available on CD containing both the Extinction album and Cybergod / Lie Cycle EP. Black vinyl, booklet, gatefold. Label: Svart Records Barcode: 6430080235322

  • We're thrilled to announce a special release dedicated to preserving the history of Athens' underground hardcore scene in the mid-90s. New Jack, an iconic band (feat. members of Negative Stance, Πορφυρία, Εναλλακτική Λύση 3, etc.) active in Athens, Greece, from 1994 to 1997, was deeply inspired by NYHC and shared the stage with many contemporaries in legendary venues like AN and MAD. For the first time ever, all of their recordings have been compiled into a single collection. This release includes 31 tracks - originals, covers, and even rare rehearsals and jams - totalling approximately 75 minutes of pure hardcore energy. Label: World's Appreciated Kitsch Records

  • Svart Records proudly present the vinyl reissue of Grave Pleasures’ modern classic album Motherblood There are still those rare bands out there in the world that have a unique ability to combine macabre, mystifying rock with a more pop-oriented flare, a la early Bowie or early The Cure. Grave Pleasures are such a band that is equally suited for playing on a stadium stage, or in some Lynchian nightmare. It’s that duality and electrifying contradiction that makes their music so exhilarating. Lead guitarist Juho Vanhanen (Oranssi Pazuzu) steps up to write the majority of the songs together with British-born outcast Mat McNerney (Hexvessel, ex- Beastmilk/DHG/Code). His screaming telecaster and unique interplay of discord and harmony has become a trademark of the band’s sound. Together with guitarist Aleksi Kiiskilä (ex - Kohu 63), their strings shimmer, hammer and howl out a web of sound which is distinctly Grave Pleasures. Fleshed out by the hypnotic signature rhythms of Valtteri Arino (ex- Beastmilk) on bass and Rainer Tuomikanto frenetically pounding the funeral drums (Ajattara, ex- Shining Swe), this group of well-established punks have started to reach up to their zenith on their sordid testament Motherblood. Motherblood was recorded at Orgone Studios in the UK with Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Ulver, Paradise Lost) in March 2017 and originally released by Century Media on the same year. The studio was suitably situated on the site of an old WW2 coding bunker and brought with it the isolation of the bleak British countryside. The setting helped give the album an intense and smiling urgency that picks up where 80s UK bands such as Magazine, The Wire and Echo And The Bunnymen left off, but never stopping long enough to look back too much into the past. Featuring guest vocals from David Tibet from Current 93, the band sets the tone for their inspirations, from the esoteric underground of England’s hidden reverse to Manchester’s sound of misery. With their own metallic raw tone clashed with pop hooks, Motherblood is a furiously passionate and contemporary record, which re-defines post-punk as a “war-cry for the eternally doomed.” They have been described as "A post-punk wet dream," or perhaps more honestly as "bat-shit lunatics," and their music is in a funereal world of its own. Motherblood is a truly danceable, pop-feast of raw, banging pleasure – in all its primitive, gothic tribalism. Dance-floor death rock that brings with it an uncanny sense of inspired song craft that made Bowie’s Berlin era sound so fresh and revolutionary, Killing Joke’s tribal anthems so desperately ominous and dark throbbing melancholy of Depeche Mode’s atmospheric pop so damn sexy. Just about every part of this record bleeds menace, or emanates nuclear fumes. It’s unsafe territory which in turn makes it thrilling, sexy and most dangerously of all, catchy. Finally back in print, Motherblood is available on wax once again! Label: Svart Records Barcode: 6430080234738
  • If we take a look back at the very dark past of the birth of Finnish death metal, Disgrace was one of the originators among bands like Abhorrence, Belial, Xysma, Beherit, Funebre, etc. The late '80s were days of active tape trading, playing gigs wherever possible—mostly in local youth centers—and creating new music out of sheer frustration. Was it the geographical location of Finland, with its long winters and absence of light, that gave Finnish death metal that extra feeling of gloom and darkness? Even though you can hear some sort of “trademark” sound that comes to Finnish bands, the scene was vital in those days, and everyone was doing their own thing. Disgrace recorded their first demo in 1989, which has been buried in time and dust. Luckily, their "Beyond the Immortalized Existence" and "Inside the Labyrinth of Depression" demos—both recorded in 1990—and the "Debts of God" EP (1990) have survived and are compiled into the "1990" release, which is now available again in a limited edition of 500 vinyl copies. These demos and EP document Disgrace at their most brutal and primitive, yet young and bloodthirsty. This is true grinding and murky death metal where you can hear influences from fellow bands like Xysma and Funebre, but also from UK and Swedish bands like Carcass (just listen to the track "Deprive My Innermost"), Bolt Thrower, Carnage, and Nihilist. Disgrace wasn’t afraid to include some doomier and groovier rocking parts into their sound even in the early days. Disgrace guitarist and vocalist Jukka Taskinen himself said that the Canadian band Voivod was the biggest influence to start the band, and there’s an obvious nod to those Quebecian sci-fi thrashers in the intro of "Debts of God." It’s been over 13 years since the last pressing of the "1990" compilation, and now it’s time to dive back into the g(l)ory days of Finnish death metal. Don’t sleep on this! • Just when you thought that there were no diamonds left to be unearthed from the worshipped vaults of the early ’80s Finnish Hardcore scene, F.O.A.D. Records is ready to shock you with a lost&found classic that nobody was aware of, not even the psychos from the most diehard tape-trading circles. BAYONET have remained an obscurity also among Punks in their native land. Perhaps it has faded into somewhat a mystery as they had virtually no contributions to the thriving scene of Finland in 1982 and 1983 – the very little while they existed… A shit-quality bootleg 7″ came to light few years ago, but it really didn’t make justice to the fact that these guys had two incredible studio recordings that they didn’t send anywhere at that time, and that were unearthed just recently thanks to the help of a friend that contacted a band member and triggered the gear that made us get here. So if you’re a fan of raw and fast Suomi HC/Punk and turn crazy for bands such as Kaaos, Rattus, Bastards, Terveet Kädet, Varaus, Sorto, Riistetyt, Kansan Uutiset and dozens more, this 49 song discography by BAYONET needs to be an instant add-on to your collection. Needless to say that it’s all mastered from the best sounding sources in existence. These guys claim they were influenced by early ’80s US Hardcore but the style is actually what we all love of Finnish HC, a bloody chaotic inferno of speed and brutal distortion. This collection includes their two studio sessions “Taste of piss” and “Finger in a deep arsehole” plus bonus rehearsals, songs from the rare “Ilkivalta” compilation tape and the recording of the only live they ever made! It comes with an insert including a lengthy interview to Seppo and Nikke run by Otto Itkonen (Selfish, Forca Macabra, Kuolema, Kovaa Rasvaa etc..) plus some photos. To cut it short, this is a total must for every maniac of raw and chaotic early ’80s Hardcore! Solid black vinyl limited to 200 copies. Label: F.O.A.D. Records

Egzoz is Archie McKay (Vox), Chris Sollars (Guitar, Vox, Lighter), Erdem Eroğlu (Drums, Vox & Megaphone) "Smoking Jacket" is a collage cut from flange and feedback guitar, explosive drumming, and a variation of spit and soft vocals that outline a city of excess and dearth. 12 songs that take listeners on a narrative journey through the uncanny streets and backside bars of Beyoğlu. The album's artwork prominently features a tailored smoking jacket made from a scanned and enlarged cigarette pack, designed by Sollars and documented by photographer Emre Başak. The album is divided into two sides. Side 1, known as "Gündüz" (daytime), invites listeners to experience the heart of a ghost-filled city, malfunctioning lifts, self-aggrandizing phones, international etiquette, 18th-century toilet commodities during the day shift, hole-in-the-wall psyches, and the vices of wine in a bar. Side 2, "Gece" (nighttime), explores the end of cars, religious charlatans in the south of Turkey, gatherings that lead to disunity, 18th-century toilet commodities during the night shift, a SlightlyCatholic perspective on the disenfranchised, and a moment of respite/restraint in a smoking jacket. GSR is honoured to re-release Length Of Time's second record "Shame To This Weakness Modern World" vinyl, with a new lay out. 'Shame To This Weakness Modern World' is Length Of Time's most aggressive and hardest album. Final step of evolution - times moves on to biggest fear - bodies piled upon bodies - history of self destruction - die - in your weakness - shame - to this weakness In the second half of the 90's, Brussels had several well known Hardcore bands, like Deviate, Backstabbers and Out For Blood. Being most of the time in the same building for band practice at some point a few guys from these bands got together to jam. Not much later a new project saw daylight by the name "Length Of Time". Pretty soon they released a more than impressive demo, filled with an aggressive mix of Hardcore and Metal; mind blowing bone crushing riffs and juggernaut like grooves yet still varied with moments of delicateness as well as lashings of melodic breaks. The rest is history. Length Of Time was no longer a side project, but became a cult name within the Hardcore scene. Licensed from Length Of Time, originally released on Goodlife Recordings in 1999. Track list: side A: Thought Of The Enslaved Fear The Existence Birth Of Another side B: Shame To This Weakness Modern World All Is One = Love & Death To Those On Our Lives (Acoustic) + bonus track Label: GSR Records

A typical Knuckledust sound which one can expect after so many years of unconditional friendship from these four dudes, who celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2016. • Promises Comfort Fools was originally released on cd in 2007 by GSR Music. It's not that often that Hardcore bands reach the 10 year mark of existence, let alone surpass that milestone, and it's even more surprising when they do it with the original line up. London's infamous Knuckledust have done just that, retaining their integrity and values that they first started out with all those years ago and earning much respect from hardcore, punk and metal kids all over the world. Returning with their 3rd album for GSR, Knuckledust are as rowdy and violent as ever on their release "Promises Comfort Fools" keeping their signature sound of New York influenced hardcore as brutal as ever. There is nothing pretty about "Promises Comfort Fools", it's just pure venomous rage spitting bile from every pour and open wound. Pierre's vocals are as raw and brutal as ever spewing energy that is reflective of his live performance. The music is like a bar room brawl between two rival football firms. It's ugly, obnoxious and brutal, giving you no chance to breathe or back down, just inciting pure violence with every crack of the snare, every bludgeoning riff and every lyric unleashed. Pure unadulterated violence. That doesn't mean that Knuckledust haven't matured with their latest release. "Promises Comfort Fools" encompasses everything that Knuckledust is and ever was, yet still finds ways to inject new life into a style that can easily become stale. The level of groove matches the intensity of the crushing breakdowns and the hurricane like, built for circle pit fast parts as songs stand out from one another and infect the body and mind. Knuckledust have really outdone themselves and their relentless work ethic of touring the world shows through on "Promises Comfort Fools". Old and new fans of Knuckledust will love this album and if you like music that is tough as nails, hard, aggressive and uncompromising, then you will have comfort in knowing that there is at least one album in 2007 that has those qualities as it's foundations. For fans of: Agnostic Front, Madball, Cock Sparrer, Blood For Blood, Hatebreed LabeL: GSR Records

With these 10 songs it more or less started for Knuckledust back in the late nineties. Since then, nonstop around with the same line up, Knuckledust survived and became the leading UK hardcore band. With their groovy, obnoxious and brutal sound Knuckledust unleashed since "Time Won't Heal This" several success full albums upon the world. Tracklist: Side A The Return of... • Time Waits is fast paced nineties Metalcore with heavy beatdowns, divebombs, lots of double bass carpets and grotesque heavy hearted guitar licks and solos done by Embraced By Hatred. As much as other contemporary bands such as Twitching Tongues, Powertrip or Turnstile they try too merge their music with the sound of forgotten days. Welding 80s Crossover & 90s NYHC with Death Metal into a melting mixture in the vein of Merauder, Obituary, Stigmata, Drowning or Integrity. Label: GSR Records
  • Chain Reaction is hardcore through and through, made for the kids, by the kids, with purpose, passion and relentless intent. Chain Reaction is the new record from Bulgaria's Last Hope and it's hardcore through and through. No apologies for what it is, just relentless energy and blunt force trauma from start to finish, like any good hardcore record should be. It sounds familiar to the ear, but still fresh. It takes from different scenes such as NY, LA or DC, but it doesn't sound like a single band from those cities. Make no mistake, Last Hope are not re-inventing the wheel with Chain Reaction, but what they're doing is injecting their love & passion for a genre that gave them life, into 10 tracks of unforgiving hardcore and giving something back to the kids that mosh, stagedive and sing a long at every show with them as one. For fans of: Sick Of It All, Madball, Terror Label: GSR Records
