  • CHAIN CULT | shallow grave | LP

    17.0020.00 (24% tax incl.)

Athen’s CHAIN CULT return with their first full length following a great Demo and 7” from last year. Recorded at Ignite Music by George Christoforidis during May and July of 2019, Shallow Grave shows the progression of a band who have played non-stop for two years, covering pretty much all of Europe. CHAIN CULT’s post punk is anthemic, militant and idealistic, putting music to a very dark and bleak time and place. You can hear echoes of early THE CURE, THE SOUND, Second Empire Justice era BLITZ or WIPERS in their music but also the passion and conviction of locals METRO DECAY, STRESS or ANTI… Very much a perfect reflection of what springs to mind thinking about the current Athens scene.

Shallow Grave comes housed in a reverse board sleeve including a printed inner sleeve with lyrics, all  designed by CHAIN CULT’s collaborator Aris Panagopoulos of A.D. Visions. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records) https://lavidaesunmus.bandcamp.com/album/shallow-grave-lp

  • Adolescents, also known as The Blue Album due to its cover design, is the debut studio album by American punk rock band the Adolescents, released in April 1981 on Frontier Records. Recorded after guitarist Rikk Agnew and drummer Casey Royer joined the band, it features several songs written for their prior group, the Detours, including "Kids of the Black Hole" and "Amoeba", which became two of the Adolescents' most well-known songs. Adolescents was one of the first hardcore punk albums to be widely distributed throughout the United States, and became one of the best-selling California hardcore albums of its time.[1] The band never toured in support of it, and broke up four months after its release. The Blue Album lineup of Agnew, Royer, guitarist Frank Agnew, bassist Steve Soto and singer Tony Brandenburg reunited several times in subsequent years, but only for brief periods. Limited repress on Restless Empire. Blue/black splatter vinyl.

  • BLITZ | second empire justice | LP

    17.50 (24% tax incl.)
Released a year after their much hearled debut album 'Voice of a Generation' , 'Second Empire Justice' features half the members from the original line-up and with a new sound. While initially being an Oi!/Skinhead Punk band, on 'Second Empire Justice' they not only changed members and their look but also their sound and released a Post-Punk classic with a heavy dose of Joy Division worship, produced by Chris Nagle. While Nagle had also produced their debut album, he had also engineered the Joy Division and New Order albums under Martin Hannett and had also engineered various other post punk albums of the day from the likes of The Durutti Column, A Certain Ratio and Magazine. Together the band and Nagle created a masterpiece while not appreciated at the time, especially by their original skinhead/Oi! fanbase. The album would go onto influence tons of post-punk/darkwave bands that sprouted from the ashes of punk/hardcore bands decades later and become one of the most sought after albums of the golden age of post-punk.. So sit back and listen to these beautiful moody haunting guitars, dancing basslines and emotionally fragile vocals all the while retaining a punk ferocity. For Fans of : Joy Division, Magazine, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Killing Joke, The Middle Class Limited repress on Restless Empire. (Restless Empire Records)

SWORDWIELDER | system overlord | LP

    17.00 (24% tax incl.)
Stench crust the way it was meant to be played! The UK crust scene of the 1980's inspired band after band but no other band has ever reincarnated the sound of that time as well as SWORDWIELDER. Quite simply if you like crust, then this the album you have waited decades for. Package includes- LP pressed on deluxe 150-gram vinyl. Reverse board jacket Printed inner sleeve 11x17 poster Stream album for free or download for a small fee here - https://profaneexistence.bandcamp.com/album/swordwielder-system-overlord-lp Review by Craig Hayes from "Your Last Rites"... Swordwielder – System Overlord Heavyweight punk fanatics take note: System Overlord is a fucking triumph. The long-awaited sophomore album from Gothenburg stenchcore band Swordwielder is a brooding behemoth, constructed from the filthiest and heftiest strains of punk and metal. System Overlord shimmers with apocalyptic visions, and it’s overflowing with all the grim atmospherics and intimidating intensity that defines consummate crushing crust. Too much hype? No way… And no apologies, either. Swordwielder deal in definitive stenchcore on System Overlord, and much like their full-length debut, 2013’s Grim Visions of Battle, the band’s latest release is a knockout. Swordwielder’s harsh, gruff and dark sound owes a significant debt to old school icons like Amebix, Axegrinder, Deviated Instinct, and Antisect, and they mix and mangle their influences and leave ’em to rot on the battlefield. Plenty of hammering rage drives System Overlord tracks like “Violent Revolution,” “Savage Execution” and “Cyborgs,” and thundering epics like “Corrupt Future” and “Northern Lights” exhibit subtler strengths, mixing guttural growls and clean vocals with crashing percussion and dirge-laden riffs. Connoisseurs of corpse-dragging crust will love the brute-force belligerence of “Absolute Fear,” “Nuclear Winter,” and “Second Attack,” which rain down like merciless mortar barrages. As a rule, all of System Overlord‘s mammoth tracks chug and churn with grinding muscle, while reeking of squalor and decay. Swordwielder exudes tightly coiled aggression from start to finish here—songs rise from the ashes of desolation, and resounding calls for action and resistance ring loud. If you’re a fan of heavy-hitters like Fatum, War//Plague, Carnage, Zygome, Cancer Spreading or (insert your favorite hefty crust crew here), System Overlord‘s trampling tempo and strapping sound are bound to appeal. While organizing the Dischord archive, they came across the 4-track of VOID's 1st recording session. This was done at Hit And Run Studios in 1981 and never officially released. The master tape was nowhere to be found so the tape was remixed by Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara at Inner Ear in 2011. This release features that entire session plus their 1st Inner Ear demo including the "flex your head" cuts and song that ended up on the "condensed flesh" 7", 2 outtakes from their 2nd Inner Ear session and a couple of live recordings. 16.00 (24% tax incl.)
Collection neatly compiles RIXE's first 3 Eps on one album. All 12 cuts have been remastered for maximum volume. Rixe appeared from nowhere and went from strength to strength over the two years since the Debut EP Coup Et Blessures was released in February 2015. The EP was their calling card and harked back to the glory years of Bologna's finest Nabat mixed with the classic 80's French Oi! sound. It was instant and loved by all and went on to have six pressings. A year later came Les Nerf A Vif - another four tracker with extra bite and bile. Every track was perfectly recorded and produced. Lean with snarl and each track a nugget of anthemic Oi!. On third EP Bapteme Du Feu there was no let up in quality...  more. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records)
  • 20 years ago DISCLOSE released their response to the greatest hardcore 12” ever released: DISCHARGE’s Why. At the time the band was at the peak of their DISCHARGE era and had perfectly crafted a trademark sound, which shows through on the recording. The chainsaw-sounding double-toned guitar, Kawakami’s unmistakable vocals, and a rhythm section firmly based on the Stoke-On-Trent’s beat melded together to create a repetitive mantra-like noise chant. Recorded at Grove Cargo and mastered at Studio D-Takt by Jan Jutila, the production is a perfect example of noise not music pressed into vinyl, with both high and low frequencies cutting through the mix without losing any power. Lyrically Nightmare Or Reality focuses on the tragic sights of bullshit fucking war while aurally the record is a full-blown attack on all senses. D-Beat Raw Punk at its best. 20 years on and many times imitated but never duplicated. Originally released by MCR Company, this 20 year anniversary official reissue comes in a printed inner sleeve and heavy board outer sleeve. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records)
  • THE COMES | no side | LP

    20.00 (24% tax incl.)
Official reissue of seminal Japanese Hardcore band THE COMES debut. Originally released in 1983 on Dogma Records, a newly created City Rocker’s side label to release Hardcore/ Hard punk) No Side remains a milestone of first wave Japanese Hardcore. A vital document to understand the days when the Tokyo Hardcore scene was small and unknown with G.I.S.M., EXECUTE, GAUZE and THE COMES as main runners. Bands who shared stages, record labels and who grew to be one of the most varied, influential and enigmatic punk scenes of the planet. THE COMES music is frantic and sharp punk, bass driven and manic sounding with vocalist Chitose aggressive vocals punctuating every syllable and dominating the tunes. Like most first wave Hardcore acts they own their own sound and albeit many times imitated it has never been matched. No Side reissue comes in a heavy paste on board textured sleeve and includes a replica lyric insert. Includes digital pre-order of No Side. You get 2 tracks now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it’s released. https://lavidaesunmus.bandcamp.com/album/no-side
  • ID | twoja twarz | LP

    13.00 (24% tax incl.)
(Shipping: September) Established in 1983, ID is considered the first band from the Polish hardcore/punk scene to be inspired by the sound and energy of hardcore from the USA. Thanks to student exchanges in Krakow, tapes from the NYC and DC hardcore pioneers inspired members of the band. Over the years, they developed their own characteristic sound. Although throughout the 80s and 90s they were the one of the frontrunners of the independent hardcore/punk scene in Poland, they left behind only a vinyl EP and several cassettes. In 1991, the band entered the legendary Złota Skała (Gold Rock) studio and, under the supervision of Robert Brylewski, recorded excellent material for a full-length. They recorded 17 tracks which sounded fresh, dynamic, and with the specific sound of that studio were reminiscent a bit of the "Legenda” of Armia or the first material from Post Regiment recorded a bit later. Both bands were strongly associated with the band from Krakow. The enormous potential and talent of the team finally brought results and things were looking very optimistic for the future. Unfortunately, the band got involved with a record company, which actually inhibited their development, releasing their material only on cassette, and two years too late, in 1993. Twenty-five years have passed since this release, and it has been 35 years since the band formed. We decided it was time to finally release a vinyl record and CD with new mastering. • (Shipping: September) Tokyo powerhouse KRIEGSHÖG returns with a two track 7” of distorted hardcore punk perfection. Facing a line up change the band sound was altered slightly after the previous guitarist quit. The new line up may have taken the guitar fuzziness a notch down in favour of a crunchier guitar tone but amped up the songwriting to the next level with a overdose of riffs, attacking each note with the same ferocious venom they have us accustomed to. These two tracks display both sides of KRIEGSHÖG perfectly, a mid tempo bass driven 4 minute banger backed up by a classic destructive sonic jam with the gnarliest punk vocals out there. Quoting the band “Play Loud and DIE!!!” The high contrast black and white of their aesthetic and sound takes a new turn making room for a conceptual record. Housed in a heavy duty PVC pocket sleeve with artwork silkscreened on it the clear vinyl record with pure black and white labels. Screenprinted cover & inner cover + Insert A3. Hailing from the coastal town Brest in the far north-western corner of France LITOVSK deliver a fulminant and outstanding 2nd album. Dark and gloomy Postpunk/Wave. Rumbling and driving basslines, straight drumming topped by partly wavey guitar riffs: simple, clean and honest while retaining a good portion of frenetic power and energy. Think of THE ESTRANGED, NEW FLESH or RED DONGS. A Band  to reckon with: LITOVSK is defintely one of the best Postpunk coming from Europe these days. On this records they manage to give an extra vibe to the last wave and created eleven hymns to dance and sing along with. • BRONCO LIBRE | bronco libre | LP

    14.00 (24% tax incl.)
BRONCO LIBRE from Leipzig, Germany deliver ass-kicking punk-hardcore on their debut full-length. The band perfected their brand of fast, melodic hardcore like YOUTH AVOIDERS or CAREER SUICIDE meets the hook-driven punk of the RED DONS or ROTTEN MIND. "This album is dedicated to native Americans, to their History and their fight. Our lyrics talk about their History but also their stories, and about their extermination under colonisation. We can't pretend knowing or even imagining what this people endured, what they've been through and what their descendants still experience nowadays. Also we don't think that this album will change anything. But we hope that through our simplified, romanced and vulgarized lyrics, we could take part (at our scale) in getting this topic (often forgotten and deliberatly avoided or turn into derision and entertainment) better known. It is also possible to read in between our lines a reflection on our nowaydays society, and this feeling of fury and despair that a lot could feel facing the today's world and its progress and development by any means necessary. • KRONSTADT | kronstadt | LP

    14.00 (24% tax incl.)
Here we go again with a band from Lille, risen from the still burning ashes of TRAITRE, KRONSTADT is a new band from this really active punk scene. The ease option would be to compare them to their previous band but we won't. KRONSTADT offers some great punk-rock, heady and melancholic but also straightforward and catchy. A bunch of French punk bands from the 80's may come to mind while listening to this as well as more recent stuff but don't get wrong, KRONSTADT is nothing else but KRONSTADT. This 12" gathers anger, disobedience and urgency. KRONSTADT is also a band which succeeds at this hard task which writing french lyrics. This is a corelease with Une Vie Pour Rien, Senseless acts of Anger and Les Âmes d'Atala. (Destructure) https://kronstadtlille.bandcamp.com/album/self-titled-lp
  • The should have become as big as bands like JOY DIVISION, THE SOUND or THE CURE that come from the same scene, unfortunately the group first disband in 1993. - "In The Breeze" is a compilation originally released right after the breakup, a collection of previously unreleased recordings spanning their first lifetime. It features demos, alternate versions, recording outtakes, John Peel session... To many they are the best kept secret of the early British pos-punk! Taken from the liner notes on the back of the jacket... Sad Lovers And Giants fell apart at the end of 1983. This record is a collection of previously unreleased recordings spanning their lifetime. 50:50 and The Change (Tracks A1 and A2): Demos recorded at Pet Sounds in early 1981. Electronically 'tweaked' 1984. "50:50" was soon dropped from the set but "The Change" survived as an occasional encore. Interlude (Track A3): Recorded live at The Venue, September 1982. Electronically 'tweaked' 1984. This instrumental dates back to the group's early days and was phased out by 1983. Landslide and Echoplay (Tracks A4 and A5): Out-takes from the "Colourless Dream" sessions at Surrey Sound, Summer 1981. "Landslide" had already been released on the group's first single/EP, "Clé", and "Echoplay" was re-recorded for "Epic Garden Music". These versions were remixed at Alaska, summer 1984. Sex Without Gravity, There Was No Time, Clint and Alice (Isn't Playing) (Tracks A6 to B3): Radio One John Peel Session, late 1981. "Sex Without Gravity" was never performed anywhere else and "There Was No Time" was soon replaced by new material. "Clint" and "Alice (Isn't Playing)" were subsequently recorded for "Epic Garden Music", although another version of "Clint" had already appeared on the "The Thing From The Crypt" compilation. The producer for Radio One was Roger Pursey and these tracks are released by arrangement with BBC Enterprises Limited. 3 Lines (Track B4): Recorded live at the Brunel Rooms, Swindon, March, 1983. Electronically 'tweaked' 1984. "3 Lines" later metamorphosed into "Dividing Lines", an unfinished out-take of "Feeding The Flame". Imagination (Track B5): Out-take from "Feeding The Flame". Recorded at Spaceward, summer 1983. "Imagination" originally appeared as the A-side of "Clé", but the group wished to record a better version. (Restless Empire Records)
