Recorded over a frigid weekend in Boston, MA in the analog domain of Alex Garcia Rivera (Give Up The Ghost) and later mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge). From the first tension filled notes struck in "God Talk", it's apparent that a spiritual restlessness and awareness continues to writhe in the collective consciousness of 108 which is an attribute that has set them apart from the rest of the musical world since their inception. From there "18.61" pounds forth with the upmost intensity. Standout track "Crescent Moon" races at manic speed before crashing in on itself in one of 108's heaviest moments ever. Title track "18.61", a moving and brooding song that combines all of the unique musical qualities that make up 108. The gritty "Reduced" showcases new drummer Mike Justian (Trap Them, Unearth, etc.) as the new heart at the center of the 108 machine, rhythmically pushing the envelope. Though the aforementioned songs are electric in every way, it's in some of the more daring tracks that "18.61" truly starts to really shine. "Mannequins" and "Forever Is Destroyed" pick up where classics Black Flag and Rollins Band left off, taking frantic and unpredictable sonic turns that only a band like 108 could navigate. All of this makes "18.61" yet another stunning album from a band that continues to write their own destiny as one the most important and influential hardcore/punk bands in existence today. 1000 copies on opaque purple vinyl out of 2000 copies from the first pressing total. 1919 are a post-punk band formed in Bradford, England in early 1980. Reissued on vinyl for the very first time since its initial release , the classic 1983 album gets a re-master from the band themself's. The Machine LP was heavily inspired by Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, and the theme of alienation is prominent in the band’s oeuvre. If you are a huge fan of deathrock or dark punk--you have to own this--you won't be disappointed! (Restless Empire Records)

Adolescents, also known as The Blue Album due to its cover design, is the debut studio album by American punk rock band the Adolescents, released in April 1981 on Frontier Records. Recorded after guitarist Rikk Agnew and drummer Casey Royer joined the band, it features several songs written for their prior group, the Detours, including "Kids of the Black Hole" and "Amoeba", which became two of the Adolescents' most well-known songs. Adolescents was one of the first hardcore punk albums to be widely distributed throughout the United States, and became one of the best-selling California hardcore albums of its time.[1] The band never toured in support of it, and broke up four months after its release. The Blue Album lineup of Agnew, Royer, guitarist Frank Agnew, bassist Steve Soto and singer Tony Brandenburg reunited several times in subsequent years, but only for brief periods. Limited repress on Restless Empire. Blue/black splatter vinyl.

  • The Agathocles material was especially recorded for this one-sided split LP, sound wise the four songs sound like the early 80's hardcore stuff. including Flemish lyrics New recordings from CAPITAL SCUM since years, the band decided to record 6 new tracks some old early Eighties songs that had never been recorded properly before. Some of them exist on old demo's and live tapes. They all have this great Eighties vibe we all love so much. There's only one song "Burn The Witch" thats a song from a side project I once did named Blood Curse. that was (Pies) on vocals, Larrie (CS) on guitar, Dirk (ex Eardamage) on bass and Hugo (ex CPD) on drums. The band was a Misfits meets Discharge horror Punk thingy and only existed for 2 years (2008-2010). The amazing cover artwork was done by good friend, tattoo artist and punk-rocker Jan Deweerdt from Kortrijk Belgium. (Power It Up Records) https://capitalscumagathocles.bandcamp.com/

You can't keep a good band down. With ceaseless, unwavering fan support, The Aggrolites reconvened in late 2015 to lay down three songs, "Aggro Reggae Party," "Help Man" and "Western Taipan," which reminded them that, hey, they're still pretty damn good at this. They never gave up, thankfully! That one-off recording session was the spark that eventually created this album, certainly their best to date. REGGAE NOW! is the Aggrolites' sixth full-length, and first with Pirates Press Records. Written and recorded throughout 2018, the album finds these architects of "Dirty Reggae" reestablishing their signature sound, re-recording those three songs from 2015 as well as adding on 11 more originals that snap, crackle and pop just as much as your favorite Aggro songs from back in the day. The Aggro Army is excited to get back in the groove. "We're passionate about reggae, we're passionate about our band, and I don't think we?re ever gonna stop," Singer Jesse Wagner notes. "Everybody clicks right now. That's why we're calling it REGGAE NOW! because this is us NOW."
  • Radio Raheem proudly presents this collection of long lost material from New York's #1 hardcore band, available here for the first time on (fully authorized) vinyl. The LP includes 34 tracks across two different recording sessions, the first predating the United Blood 7" and the second recorded just before the Victim In Pain LP. In addition, we dug deep into the NYHC vaults and assembled a massive 48-page, full color booklet, containing over 150 archival images tracing the band's early history from their start in 1982 until the end of their first nationwide tour in 1985 „ some you may have seen before, but many have never seen the light of day until now „ as well as commentary from members of the early NYHC scene. • The wait was long, but now it's ready! A dignified follow-up of their first album! An intense Dolp from this dark crust band from Gothenburg. I haven't really enough words to describe this brutal yet twisted attack on my eardrums. Eight songs in just over 72 minutes(!) of death and blackmetal gloom with a healthy dose of crust punk influences leaving me speechless. The Double Lp comes in a beautiful gatefold with a foldout insert. CD version is being released in the US by Profane Existence. (Skuld Records)

A heavy weight AMEBIX meets HELLHAMMER with KILLING JOKE in company and those comparisons are for real and not just some soulless marketing stunt. AKRASIA rule a crossover reality painted with the colors of decadence, cosmic horror, post-apocalyptic and sci-fi pantheons as well as a strong anti-religious and anti-authoritarian life approach. • You’d think Jake Robertson would already have his hands full playing in the likes of Ausmuteants, Leather Towel, School Damage, Drug Sweat et al. But no, evidently there’s always time for one more thoroughly wracked project, and Alien Nose Job’s focus is as kaleidoscopically scattershot as you’d expect from a man with such a short attention span. Just to confirm: yes, that’s a good thing. From the off, we glide through the Coneheads-style Devocore of Television Sets before romping through the jangling lo-fi pop of Weight of the World, which skips and mopes while making like The Clean setting light to their parents’ carpet with a magnifying glass. There’s also charmingly scruffy soul-pop, chugging sci-fi slop-punk, straight-up college rock balladry and much, much more. But these aren’t sketches or tossed-off genre exercises. They’re bona fide works of consummate skill that resonate sincerely and effortlessly. Essentially, each song sounds like a challenge to the one that follows, a cry of ‘step the fuck up’; Suddenly Everything is Twice as Loud is a treasure trove of mini-masterpieces. Rough as fuck mini-masterpieces, sure, recorded with a cheap drum machine and guitars that sound like rusty drills cutting through power cables, but mini-masterpieces nonetheless. When venerable doyens of the pop establishment make albums of such eclectic scope and genuine songwriting talent, they get called geniuses. When punk as fuck wiseguys like Robertson pull it off, words like ‘maverick’ get tossed around. Rest assured, his Alien Nose Job project covers both angles. This second album is an instant classic that deserves to be heard far beyond the underground – but if it isn’t, who cares? He’s probably playing in another seven bands already by the time you read this. I’ve not heard them yet either, but I can tell you they’re all fucking amazing. Just buy this record and join the cult. • This is the long awaited repress of the out of print 7" originally released on S.U.R. Records. These 2 songs from NY's All Out War were originally intended for an Astor Records NYHC compilation that never saw the light of day. All Out War is a punishing display of the aggression of hardcore crossed with the brutality of metal while avoiding the shortcomings of both genres. To get a taste of All Out War's musical style, envision Carcass colliding head on with "Age of Quarrel" era Cro- Mags. Two styles as different as they come but All Out War combines the two to form an attack unmatched by today's standards. (Trip Machine Laboratories)
  • ALPINIST is a dark hardcore four-piece from Münster, Germany. lichtlaerm/minus.mensch” is crushing yet beautiful – heavy and atmospheric crust- and post-hardcore, bringing to mind the likes of FROM ASHES RISE, FALL OF EFRAFA, early ENFY etc.. They’re definitely an apocalyptic journey of sound. MASAKARI got finally a new record! Close your eyes and imagine that His Hero is Gone and Amebix got together and had a child… got it? Ok, now imagine that that child grows up in a dank room full of teenage angst, listening to nothing but Death Side and Disfear records until he is 21 years-old. Now open your eyes and what you have is Masakari, a crust punk band from Cleveland, Ohio. (Alerta Antifascista ‎Records / Halo Of Flies ‎Records)

  • Writing about punk, especially hardcore seems to be a topic that has been passed over by most music writers. You see tons of books about the early days of punk and bands like the Ramones, Clash, Sex Pistols etc..(if you believed what those books said or VH1, punk ended they day Sid Vicous died), but very rarely do groups like Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, and the hundreds others that followed in their wake get any coverage from a mainstream media. American Hardcore sets out to fill the missing piece of history that was the hardcore scene. This is an oral history of the scene as told by the author, who was a D.C. promoter and played in a band called No Trend, and interviews done by the author with the people created hardcore. He talks with some of the biggest names in the scene including: Milo Aukermen, Brian Baker, Jello Biafra, Dez Cadena, Glenn Danzig, Greg Ginn, Greg Graffin, Jack Grisham, Brett Gurewitz, Ian Mackaye, Mike Ness, Henry Rollins, Mike Watt, and many more both of larger and smaller bands spread throughout country. This personal accounts and the telling of many private and unknown stories gives the book a very intimate feel and by the end, I felt as if I understood some of the frequent contributors better and was better able to understand some of their more personal lyrics and songs. The book is divided into four parts, each with its own chapters. The first part takes a look at why hardcore happened, what were the major influences within and around the scene that prompted it to react the way it did. It discusses topics such as violence at shows, the (rightful) hatred and distrust of the police, racism and sexism in scene or more specifically why it was predominately white and male. It also talks about some of the homosexual people that helped create hardcore. The book also talks about things like straight edge, anti-fashion, people coming from middle class suburbs and stuff like that. The second part is definetly the best part. This part was about the bands and the scenes from all over the country. The best thing is that this book isn't all about the west coast or the east coast, the author attempted and made a really good effort to cover every scene from every area around the country. Some scenes and bands get more attention than others; Black Flag, Misfits, and Bad Brains each got their own chapters, and California was divided into 3 chapters, while others barely get a paragraph. When he does do the chapters on the scenes, the author starts with the bigger bands from that scene and then moves down to the smaller groups. Which is cool that he names the smaller groups along with larger ones, it does get tedious after awhile when you have never heard of some of these bands and just want to skip to the next chapter. Also this is my pet peeve through out the book, when he talks about scenes in different towns he always mentions shows his band played, especially if they were with big bands. While that's cool and I would give my left nut to see the Dead Kennedys play in their prime, let alone open for them, it got really annoying after awhile. The third part tends to drag on bit as it talks about the formation of labels, artwork, the d.i.y ethic, and media portray in movies and TV. I did learn some interesting things in this section though. For instance Belushi was the person responsible for getting FEAR to play on SNL, one more reason he is a god, and if you look during the second performance at the end Ian Mackaye grabs the mic and yells "New York Sucks!" The fourth and final section is about the demise of hardcore and why after 86 or so it became irrelevant, at least in this author's eyes, as most of the good bands quit or started new projects that were labeled "post hardcore" or "emo". A really interesting part at the end has many of the big names from the scene discussing punk/hardcore and its relevance today, and how today's scene differs from then. While some comments sounded elitist, I will give them credit that being punk during the time period 80-86 was a lot more dangerous than it is now, I have never been beaten down for the way I looked, or had cops shut down a show with tear gas and billy clubs, in some ways I feel lucky for that. He also includes a discography at the end for almost every band that recorded something, but he limits it to stuff that was only recorded in-between those magic years, or stuff that was done after 86 that the author feels was relevant. Which to me is really heavy-handed, take Bad Religion for instance, under their discography it stops after the "Back To the Known" EP, I would have included "Suffer" which was done in 87 (I think). Same with Social Distortion, with them it seems like they must have quit after "Mommy's Little Monster". Overall this book offers a very intimate and personal account of hardcore punk between the years 1980-1986. Although at times the author and contributors sound heavy handed as we started this so we are more hardcore and what not, it still is a really enjoyable read, I couldn't put it down and finished it in about a week. If for nothing else the some of the pictures are worth the price of the book alone. Some great live shots and just pictures of people hanging out and being part of the scene are cool, along with the, at times, arty pictures at the beginning of each chapter. (My favorite is called "America" and is a picture of an old worn out chair sitting in front of a busted TV set in a vacant lot). I think that anyone who is a fan of older punk bands should check this out, it gives some great background on your favorite bands and introduces you to some that time has passed over. I know I have been trying to track down some of these bands after reading about them to listen to them.

  • Amyl and the Sniffers are a punk band possessed by the spirit of seventies Australian rock. Amy Taylor (vocals), Bryce Wilson (drums), Dec Martens (guitar) are former housemates who formed the band, wrote a handful of tunes and released their debut EP, Giddy Up, all in a span of twelve hours. Completing their line up with Gus Romer on bass, the band take their cues from a diverse bunch of legends including AC/DC, Cosmic Psychos, Dolly Parton and Die Antwoord, setting out to have as much fun as possible. Their 2nd EP, Big Attraction, was released in February 2017, kicking off a stellar year for these young punks. Growing buzz around their blistering live show made the band a hot tip at Bigsound in Brisbane, while the band was added to festival line-ups including Meredith and CherryRock17. The band and were invited to join the Cosmic Psychos on their forthcoming November/December tour and capped off the year with a sellout NYE show at the legendary Tote in their home town of Melbourne. 2018 sees Amyl And The Sniffers ratchet up another couple of gears with their first national headline tour in April followed by UK shows in May, and their first North American tour in June with fellow Melbournians King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. • White vinyl. Anchor is a hardcore band with members spread out all over Scandinavia, yet keeping up a relentless tour schedule, always with an urge to do and see more. I’ve know these guys for years and have the deepest respect for their message, passion, and integrity so I’m amped to have them on the label. Recovery is Anchor's second full length, and the band’s debut release on React! records. This is the North American version of the album, with the European version already out on Refuse Records. Call it 90's hardcore if you will, and you might be right, but there are hints here and there of the Scandinavian heritage. Weather it's a catchy melody a'la Millencolin, or a crushing riff flirting more with the Swedish death metal scene than anything else, Anchor is bringing it all together nicely on this LP. There’s a part during “Too High to Die”, the third track on Annihilation Time’s classic album II, where Jimmy Rose screams, “I got blood pouring from my mouth and I like the taste of it”. Over massive guitar riffs and even a cowbell, it sounds like the perfect storm of greasy 70s rock, blazing thrash and urgent 80s hardcore. You can almost feel the crushed beer cans underfoot. II stands as an American power punk rock classic now repressed in limited PURPLE VINYL! on Tee Pee Records!! Recorded in 2004 at Motorwolf Studios in Holland while the band was on tour, the album brings together the riffs of Thin Lizzy and Motorhead with the snarl of Black Flag and Siege. Forming in Southern California in 2001, Annihilation Time were ferocious and constant touring (and partying) with bands like Municipal Waste and Caustic Christ earned them a cult like following across the US and Europe. Since the band split in 2009, members have gone on to play in numerous bands including Lecherous Gaze. (Tee Pee Records)

  • The fourth instalment in Ian Glasper’s legendary journey into the heart of UK Punk and Hardcore, ‘Armed With Anger’” explores the transformation of the UK Punk underground as the gritty 1980s gave way to the 1990s and everything that came with it. Thought by many to be an absolutenadir in the history of punk, this overlooked era still spawned many important and intriguing bands, and, as per his previous works, Glasper leaves no stone unturnedwhen exploring the inspirations and motivations that drove the acts of the time. From the likes of Therapy?, Understand and Lostprophets, who all went on to major label success after starting in humble underground bands, through to groups who released just one demo or a lone 7″ single, ‘Armed With Anger’ examines almost a hundred bands, allowing them to tell their own stories in their own words, and is brimming with previously unseen photographs and long-lost memorabilia.
No stone is left unturned as the many disparate sub-genres of the scene are examined, from pop-punk (Goober Patrol, Panic etc) and ska-punk (Citizen Fish, Spithead), through raging hardcore (Voorhees and Assert), militant SXE (Withdrawn, Ironside)and old school punk rock (Sick On The Bus and Police Bastard), on to the birth of metalcore (Stampin’ Ground and Above All) and, love-it-or-hate-it, emocore (Fabric and Bob Tilton). The leading lights (and many more) are explored and featured, along with the politics, underground fanzines and DIY labels which were synonymous with the scene.
A must for anyone who enjoyed the first three books, all of which were hugely successful and have become cult classic must reads for anybody with an interest in the genre, this ‘fourth book in the trilogy’ pulls together many of the threads of those volumes and brings Glasper’s celebration of the UK’s underground punkheritage to a satisfying,

  • ARMIA | legenda | LP

    23.00 incl. tax
Legenda is their second studio album that was released in 1991. Official reissue on limted 180 gr black vinyl with printed inner sleeve. "Legenda" is an ambitious musical project, a multilayered masterpiece that is meaningful on many levels and escapes easy categorization. The production is fantastic: the sound is dark and monumental but unpretentious, powerful but relying on the strength of the composition rather than on petty heaviness, it is also cold and yet organic and epic. In addition to the classic punk instruments, there are some flute, French horn, acoustic guitar, clarinet, trumpet and synth on "Legenda". The horns increase the epic, monumental quality of the album, possibly even casting an almost ironic, self-reflexive light upon it, and add a subtle moodiness when needed. The synth is very much an atmospheric tool and offers a postindustrial reading of the Soviet epics. For what it is worth, and as irrelevant as it might be, "Legenda" blends the distinctively Polish punk sound of Dezerter (noticeably in the riffs' structure) with the awe-inspiring power of "In darkness"-era Antisect in order to get the perfect ink with which Armia are going to write a darkly ironic, multi-instrumental story about madness and alienation. "Legenda" is incredibly difficult to describe but listening to it as a story is probably the most relevant stance. There are interludes that give fluidity to the album and confer meaning to what precedes or follows. The Don Quijote metaphor that pervades the aesthetics of the Lp tends to indicate that "Legenda" could be a contextualized rewriting. A blinded man living in denial, obsessed with ideas but discarding reality, as pathetic as he is heroic, the Quijote prism can be meaningful on many levels. It could be a comment on post-Soviet Poland (debunking the mythical representation), or on punk-rock, or on the shibboleth of ideology, or on the creative act itself. (Terminal Sound Nuisance) (Metal Mind Production)
  • “Armia” is the band’s debut studio album from 1988. First time official reissue of this highly influential Polish punk classic . Limited 180gr red vinyl with printed inner sleeve. Armia started at the end 1984 after Tomasz Budzynski left Siekiera for whom he was singing (it was over a matter of musical direction, and Siekiera went new-wave after the departure of Tomasz) and founded Armia with guitar-player Robert Brylewski (died in 2018 after beaten up), who had been part of the legendary, mood-defining Brygada Kryzys and of Izrael, a very popular reggae band (reggae has always been hugely popular in Poland). On the drums was also a former Izrael, Tomasz Kozuchowski, and on the bass was yet another Tomasz (they almost could call themselves "Tomasz Army" really). From the beginning, there was something unique and compelling about Armia. Although the band obviously built on the peculiarly intense Polish punk sound of bands like Dezerter, TZN Xenna, Moskwa, Abaddon and indeed Siekiera, as the texture and the structure of the riffs could attest, there was a different feel, a creative intent that was new, conceptual, almost metaphysical and could be seen in the aesthetics of Armia as much as in their music and words. The use of horns and other "non-punk" instruments gave the band a unique sound and pointed at their desire to create a unique soundscape (the fact that some members had already played in the horns-using Izrael also helped). The first 1987 Lp confirmed the band's amazing potential. Although it lacks the awesome power of "Legenda" and is still quite close to the classic Polish punk sound, some songs hinted at the songwriting tour de force that was to follow. But more important, the first album showed something central to Armia: the narrative intent. If you listen to it closely, there is a storytelling quality to the Lp, albeit in a still imperfect form. Taken individually, for all their undeniable quality as hardcore-punk numbers, the songs don't have the same strength and are not as meaningful as when the Lp is seen as a whole. A feeling of dementia and insanity floats over the album but it can only be heard when you listen to the whole work. (Terminal Sound Nuisance) (Metal Mind Production)

  • Solid black vinyl version limited to 300 copies - LP+CD. Torino, Northern Italy, is with no trace of doubt one of the areas that gave birth to some of the most important Italian Hardcore bands of all eras… NEGAZIONE, DECLINO, CONTR-AZIONE, 5# BRACCIO, ROUGH just to mention a few. And the great thing about this city is that all this did not only last in the ’80s but had a solid continuation in the decades to follow. Bands like ARTURO, CRUNCH, FRAMMENTI, BELLI-COSI, C.O.V. took the legacy of the giants that came before and ruled the ’90s reinventing Hardcore with creativity, passion and a flash of genius in song-writing. ARTURO were certainly the fastest and those that have been more pristine in sticking to the total Hardcore formula, especially in their early years with Alfo on vocals. So this anthology is all focused on that time, the early years of one of the most furious Italian Hardcore bands of the Nineties… fast, top adrenalinic Hardcore that gives no time to breathe from start to finish! It includes their debut CD “Ar-cor” (1995), the two Ep’s “Isterico” (1997) and “Topo volante” (1998) plus a bonus CD with the impossible to find first demo and an unreleased soundboard live at El Paso (Torino), 1996 opening for CRIPPLE BASTARDS (actually at that time ARTURO shared their drummer and bass-player with CB!). 63 songs of manic fast TORINO HC!!! Double insert with lyrics, original artworks and photos. (F.O.A.D. Records)
  • Solid black vinyl ltd. to 350 copies - 19.00 The masters of complete Hardcore Mangel are back with a vengeance! 12 songs of crushing Swedish Hardcore from these timeless legends mangling ears since the early ’80s!! Two years after “Död åt kapitalismen“, a new menace of uncompromised fury is ready to endanger your cardiac stability… Not only these guys were pioneers of the fastest and rawest ’80s Hardcore ever spawned from the freezing North, but they are among the few that kept the same level of intensity and anger with their recent reunion. All the greatest features for a brutal Swedish Hardcore record are pushed to the top on this new full length, vitriolic vocals and vicious discharged riffs picturing the most apocalyptic war scenarios, solid scandicore/d-beat drumming and a kick-in-the-face production giving to all their rawness and distortion an even sicker and cruder feeling. Correct us if we fail to say that with this record we are closing the year with the best Swedish Hardcore album of 2019 and who knows for how much time more. (F.O.A.D. Records)
  • Black vinyl limited to 200. The third and final installment that completes the ASOCIAL vinyl reissues to make their entire 1982-1994 easily available for all you Scandicore psychos. This LP collects the following: “How could Hardcore be any worse” (split tape with The Bedrövlers, 1984… THEIR FASTEST RECORDINGS EVER!) plus some extra unreleased stuff, songs from “Hardcore for the masses” and “Attack is now suicide” v.a. LPs (both from 1988), the “House of gore” 7″ (1992) and their songs from “Distortion to hell” v.a. CD (1994). All this stuff has been mastered from the original reels and mastertapes. This collection shows the band’s progression from the early, out of control ultra Hardcore annihilation to a more d-beat paced (as a matter of fact, a Discharge cover is included) and even metallic HC approach, still keeping the aggression and power that has always been a trademark in their sound. 25 tracks. Housed in a glossy gatefold sleeve with silver hot-foil stamping. (F.O.A.D. Records)

  • Swedish punk legends ASTA KASK are celebrating their 40 year anniversary with the release of "historien dömer oss alla ("history will judge us all), along with reissues of 3 classic records. ASTA KASK have succeeded with something very few bands from the first wave of swedish punk have: to maintain their fans while still making their way into the hearts of young punks. The new record "historien dömer oss alla" consist of 4 songs that brings up hate, fear and the normalization of surreptitious racism that is spreading around the globe. The material covers the different strengths of the bands longevity: the speed of 2-beat drums, echos of raw 80's chord progression and the never ending thirst for singalong-friendly melodies. Limited to 1000 copies on black vinyl. Poster of cover and digital download card included. (Gaphals Records) https://gaphals.bandcamp.com/album/asta-kask-historien-d-mer-oss-alla

  • Austria’s Astpai play punk rock with a healthy dose of Kid Dynamite snarl. It’s melodic, it’s loud, and most of all, it wants to be heard. Think of all those bands in the mid-naughties who started drawing on the melodic side of hardcore and post—Make Do And Mend, Title Fight, and Hostage Calm, to name a few—bands that took to the musicianship of Hot Water Music and Fugazi but kept their feet firmly in the world of traditional songwriting. Astpai is a step once more removed from those post-hardcore roots, but it’s hard for me not to think of them as kin. True Capacity is melodic punk that wants to hit hard, to give you all its got, and have you singing along with every word. A more direct comparison for Astpai would be something like The Flatliners. They have a similar feel of heightened melodic punk, where they take from hardcore sounds but not structures. Here, there are songs with big choruses and competent arrangements delivered with an emotional range in line with what we expect from today’s melodic punk. • This here is an extreme Grindcore band from the german North Sea coast:, ATTACK FROM THE AXEMAN from Hamburg, including almighty Ralf Bock (ex-MY OWN LIES, ex-PRONE, ex-STACK, ex-CHOREA, ...), play very brutal Old School Grindcore: punishing blastbeats, hard hitting guitars, exploding bass and bonerattling vocals will bring every fan of loud and extreme music into their own kind of heaven. You like REPULSION, PHOBIA, CATHETER and TERRORIZER ??? Then you will like ATTACK OF THE MAD AXEMAN too !!!
This here is the fourth album of the band offering twenty-six songs of extreme Animal Grind, songs titled "Arachne Of Death", "Kings Of Animalgrind", "Spider Attack", "Rich Dogs On LSD", "From Whom The Cowbell Tolls", ... seem to sound very funny, but the lyrics are very critical, yes sarcastic but in the end very political, a little bit more cryptically than standard political songs. During their live gigs the band members are wearing freaky animal customs so that the audio terror gets completed with visual entertainment. (Regurgitated Semen Records)

1986’s “American Paranoia” was a California thrash bash from the Bay Area’s Attitude Adjustment. Along with bands like Excel, Cryptic Slaughter, and Hirax, Attitude Adjustment helped bridge the gap between blazing fast hardcore and speed metal, a sound that was duplicated many times over but rarely with the ferocity found here. This LP was originally pressed on the legendary Pusmort Records (run by famed artist Pushead) and has not been in print on vinyl since that initial pressing. LP includes DVD and is limited to 500 copies. (Taang! Records)

    AVENGERS | avengers | LP

    25.00 incl. tax
In the late '70s, The Avengers established themselves as one of the US's preeminent punk bands. Fusing incisive guitar hooks, explosive rhythms and adolescent venom, the group forged some of the most in-your-face songs of the era. Their live shows were legendary, playing up and down the West Coast and even blowing Sex Pistols off the stage at the latter's final performance. As Byron Coley writes in the liner notes, "Of the best bands of San Francisco's first wave in 1977, The Avengers were by far the coolest and youngest sounding. They roared without irony, as though this were indeed Year Zero (and, for a moment, it was) with history being overwritten by the new. The honesty of their belief was carried by their sound. And it was convincing!" Originally released in 1983, four years after the band's dissolution, The Avengers' self-titled LP is often referred to as "The Pink Album" for its magenta-hued cover design. Frontwoman Penelope Houston's iconic voice and razor-sharp lyrics resonate on anthems "We Are The One" and "The American In Me," while penetrating ballads like "Corpus Christi" reveal a truly out-of-body euphony. The Pink Album remains The Avengers' definitive statement – collecting their classic Dangerhouse EP, sessions recorded with the Pistols' Steve Jones and a half-dozen revelatory demos. While much has been written about The Avengers in the past three decades, rock critic Greil Marcus puts it succinctly, "The word I always come back to is mystical, and that remains almost theirs alone." • AVIADOR DRO Y SUS OBREROS ESPECIALIZADOS formed in the Prosperidad Neighbourhood of Madrid in 1979. Influenced equally by Dadaism and Futurist ideas as by the contemporary sounds of bands such as DEVO, THROBBING GRISTLE or CABARET VOLTAIRE, they started creating their own brand of electronic music. Soon after the band won the third prize of a local Battle of The Bands show and were given a record deal as a prize that resulted in La Chica De Plexiglás 7” (Movieplay-1980) and La Vision 7” (Movieplay-1981) both of which were recorded at the same session with a third 7” recorded but not released at the time. Faced with the total lack of interest showed by the label and feeling alienated in a Music World which wasn’t the one they dreamed of, they decided to do what dozens of their peers were doing worldwide; They started their own label, Discos Radioactivos Organizados (DRO) following the steps of Factory or Industrial Records. Faced with the exit of three members who left the band to form a more radical band (ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO), AVIADOR DRO entered Doublewtronix studios to record Nuclear Sí, marking the birth of the Independent Music Industry in Spain. The four tracks on the EP became instant classics with Nuclear Sí being the absolute standout track, while Varsovia en Llamas, Sintonia Del Refugio Atomico and Godzilla were perfect nuggets of Synth-punk who remain amongst the greatest Spanish Pop songs ever. Originally hand-assembled, hand-coloured, self-released and distributed in the total DIY spirit, the first release of DRO remains a perfect example of what a bunch of teenagers can achieve armed with just their youthful energy and idealism. Nuclear Si, was repressed three times and has been out of print since the early 80’s. This reissue of 500 radioactive green vinyl comes out in the year that AVIADOR DRO celebrates its 40 anniversary with a book released and an anniversary tour. • Mention the name Bad Brains to any music fan today and you will get a jaw-dropping response! Considered by some to be the holy grail' of punk rock, Bad Brains are one of the definitive American punk groups who garner the same respect as the Sex Pistols, Black Flag, The Ramones and the The Clash. The Bad Brains iconic legacy brought a new dimension to music by melding punk and reggae into a innovative style that has yet-to-be copied. And with this new studio album, Bad Brains essentially returns to their core wit a raw analog-driven chaos produced by MCA (aka Adam Yauch) of the Beastie Boys.Build a Nation has clearly brought out the best in the band. All original members, Dr. Know, Darryl Jennifer H.R. and Earl Hudson, deliver an explosive arsenal of riffage and bad ass bag of voices. Producer MCA recorded the album at the Beastie Boys' Oscilloscope studio in NYC. It is the first studio album released by the Oscilloscope laboratories, outside of Beastie Boys' albums. Sometimes reactionary, sometimes volatile, Bad Brains simply define the American punk experience. (Megaforce)

Bad Nerve is the brainchild of Jonas Lyxzen whom, if you know your history, has been a part of a bunch of classic Umeå bands like Abhinanda, Separation, DS-13, Insurgent Kid and so on. They've already managed to do a short european tour in 2014, a China tour in 2015 and they've released a criminally underrated 7" on Ny våg Ny Våg and also a split 7" with Fanzui Xiangfa from China. Both these were released in 2014. Now they are back with a full-length album called The Lost Ones. 14 tracks of simple yet innovative and catchy punkrock that mirrors both the Umeå tradition and classic american Hardcore like Zero Boys, Bad Brains and Wipers. • An amazing lost slice of American Punk/New Wave cool finally sees the light of day after almost 40 years.Hailing from Fullerton California The Barbies were a short lived band that existed from 1979 to 1981, they recorded 5 songs before calling it quits after the tragic death of their guitar player. A handful of test pressings were made of the 5 songs and the planned record shelved. They would have disappeared and would have been forgotten. But as luck would have it a few songs made it out in the world. their song 'Operator, Operator' was used in the cult horror classic 'Fade to Black' (1980) and the song 'Boys Will Be Boys' made it onto the legendary 'The Up Another Octave Transmission' compilation (1981) a now legendary snapshot of the OC music scene in the early 80s. The comp featured not only the Barbies but early Berlin and the Detours making it a sought after collectable. It was from this comp that everyone was turned onto the greatness of The Barbies with their cool New Wave/Punk sound, think early Go-Go's before the poppy top 40 polishing meets Penetration's razor sharp sounds with a good dose of the youthful energy of X-Ray Spex. The fully restored 5 Song 12" EP comes with an eye catching cover and inset that includes photos and lyrics and words by Rikk Agnew (Adolescents / DI / Christian Death) (Puke N Vomit Records)

200 Copies on Black Vinyl. Just when you thought that there were no diamonds left to be unearthed from the worshipped vaults of the early ’80s Finnish Hardcore scene, F.O.A.D. Records is ready to shock you with a lost&found classic that nobody was aware of, not even the psychos from the most diehard tape-trading circles. BAYONET have remained an obscurity also among Punks in their native land. Perhaps it has faded into somewhat a mystery as they had virtually no contributions to the thriving scene of Finland in 1982 and 1983 – the very little while they existed… A shit-quality bootleg 7″ came to light few years ago, but it really didn’t make justice to the fact that these guys had two incredible studio recordings that they didn’t send anywhere at that time, and that were unearthed just recently thanks to the help of a friend that contacted a band member and triggered the gear that made us get here. So if you’re a fan of raw and fast Suomi HC/Punk and turn crazy for bands such as Kaaos, Rattus, Bastards, Terveet Kädet, Varaus, Sorto, Riistetyt, Kansan Uutiset and dozens more, this 49 song discography by BAYONET needs to be an instant add-on to your collection. Needless to say that it’s all mastered from the best sounding sources in existence. These guys claim they were influenced by early ’80s US Hardcore but the style is actually what we all love of Finnish HC, a bloody chaotic inferno of speed and brutal distortion. This collection includes their two studio sessions “Taste of piss” and “Finger in a deep arsehole” plus bonus rehearsals, songs from the rare “Ilkivalta” compilation tape and the recording of the only live they ever made! It comes with an insert including a lengthy interview to Seppo and Nikke run by Otto Itkonen (Selfish, Forca Macabra, Kuolema, Kovaa Rasvaa etc..) plus some photos. To cut it short, this is a total must for every maniac of raw and chaotic early ’80s Hardcore! (F.O.A.D. Records)
  • BELGRADO | obraz | LP

    17.00 incl. tax
Obraz is a deconstruction of reality to its basic forms and most primitive elements. The starting point after maximum destruction. A reconstruction towards a new reality. The world of images and a thousand spectacles, fragmented, dismantled and reassembled. Dynamism, rhythm, energy and movement. Creative sense over technique. Reality is a construction that we ourselves create. Belgrado delivers a blend of post-punk that takes its influence from many different styles and combines them together into a new form and rhythm. Carefully constructed sound compositions driven by feelingand the senses. Geometrical figures set in motion. Inspired by the mechanical pulse of minimal synth, the hypnotic sounds of dub, the atmosphere of psychedelic and African music, French cold wave and the post-punk classics. • Big Black was started by Steve Albini in 1982 while he was attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Lungs, the first Big Black release was recorded by Steve on a borrowed 4-track. He played everything on the EP himself - except the sax bleating courtesy of pal John Bohnen and the drums courtesy of Roland. Soon after, Steve recruited Jeff Pezzati (Naked Raygun) on bass, and Santiago Durango (also Naked Raygun) joined them on guitar. In 1983, together with live drummer Pat Byrne, they recorded the Bulldozer EP. By 1984, the band had done some touring and recorded the Racer X EP and the start of the Il Duce 7”. After that, Jeff returned to Naked Raygun and was replaced by Dave Riley. In 1985, Big Black recorded their first full-length, Atomizer, as well as finishing the Il Duce 7”. Atomizer was released in 1986 along with the release of the Hammer Party compilation CD. In 1987, the Headache EP and Heartbeat 7” were released. That same year, the band recorded and released the 7” of The Model/He’s A Whore as well as their second full-length album, Songs About Fucking. They toured extensively (for Big Black). And they broke up. (Touch And Go Records)
