  • CHAIN CULT | shallow grave | LP

    17.0020.00 (24% tax incl.)

Athen’s CHAIN CULT return with their first full length following a great Demo and 7” from last year. Recorded at Ignite Music by George Christoforidis during May and July of 2019, Shallow Grave shows the progression of a band who have played non-stop for two years, covering pretty much all of Europe. CHAIN CULT’s post punk is anthemic, militant and idealistic, putting music to a very dark and bleak time and place. You can hear echoes of early THE CURE, THE SOUND, Second Empire Justice era BLITZ or WIPERS in their music but also the passion and conviction of locals METRO DECAY, STRESS or ANTI… Very much a perfect reflection of what springs to mind thinking about the current Athens scene.

Shallow Grave comes housed in a reverse board sleeve including a printed inner sleeve with lyrics, all  designed by CHAIN CULT’s collaborator Aris Panagopoulos of A.D. Visions. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records) https://lavidaesunmus.bandcamp.com/album/shallow-grave-lp

SWORDWIELDER | system overlord | LP

    17.00 (24% tax incl.)
Stench crust the way it was meant to be played! The UK crust scene of the 1980's inspired band after band but no other band has ever reincarnated the sound of that time as well as SWORDWIELDER. Quite simply if you like crust, then this the album you have waited decades for. Package includes- LP pressed on deluxe 150-gram vinyl. Reverse board jacket Printed inner sleeve 11x17 poster Stream album for free or download for a small fee here - https://profaneexistence.bandcamp.com/album/swordwielder-system-overlord-lp Review by Craig Hayes from "Your Last Rites"... Swordwielder – System Overlord Heavyweight punk fanatics take note: System Overlord is a fucking triumph. The long-awaited sophomore album from Gothenburg stenchcore band Swordwielder is a brooding behemoth, constructed from the filthiest and heftiest strains of punk and metal. System Overlord shimmers with apocalyptic visions, and it’s overflowing with all the grim atmospherics and intimidating intensity that defines consummate crushing crust. Too much hype? No way… And no apologies, either. Swordwielder deal in definitive stenchcore on System Overlord, and much like their full-length debut, 2013’s Grim Visions of Battle, the band’s latest release is a knockout. Swordwielder’s harsh, gruff and dark sound owes a significant debt to old school icons like Amebix, Axegrinder, Deviated Instinct, and Antisect, and they mix and mangle their influences and leave ’em to rot on the battlefield. Plenty of hammering rage drives System Overlord tracks like “Violent Revolution,” “Savage Execution” and “Cyborgs,” and thundering epics like “Corrupt Future” and “Northern Lights” exhibit subtler strengths, mixing guttural growls and clean vocals with crashing percussion and dirge-laden riffs. Connoisseurs of corpse-dragging crust will love the brute-force belligerence of “Absolute Fear,” “Nuclear Winter,” and “Second Attack,” which rain down like merciless mortar barrages. As a rule, all of System Overlord‘s mammoth tracks chug and churn with grinding muscle, while reeking of squalor and decay. Swordwielder exudes tightly coiled aggression from start to finish here—songs rise from the ashes of desolation, and resounding calls for action and resistance ring loud. If you’re a fan of heavy-hitters like Fatum, War//Plague, Carnage, Zygome, Cancer Spreading or (insert your favorite hefty crust crew here), System Overlord‘s trampling tempo and strapping sound are bound to appeal. • BLITZ | second empire justice | LP

    17.50 (24% tax incl.)
Released a year after their much hearled debut album 'Voice of a Generation' , 'Second Empire Justice' features half the members from the original line-up and with a new sound. While initially being an Oi!/Skinhead Punk band, on 'Second Empire Justice' they not only changed members and their look but also their sound and released a Post-Punk classic with a heavy dose of Joy Division worship, produced by Chris Nagle. While Nagle had also produced their debut album, he had also engineered the Joy Division and New Order albums under Martin Hannett and had also engineered various other post punk albums of the day from the likes of The Durutti Column, A Certain Ratio and Magazine. Together the band and Nagle created a masterpiece while not appreciated at the time, especially by their original skinhead/Oi! fanbase. The album would go onto influence tons of post-punk/darkwave bands that sprouted from the ashes of punk/hardcore bands decades later and become one of the most sought after albums of the golden age of post-punk.. So sit back and listen to these beautiful moody haunting guitars, dancing basslines and emotionally fragile vocals all the while retaining a punk ferocity. For Fans of : Joy Division, Magazine, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Killing Joke, The Middle Class Limited repress on Restless Empire. (Restless Empire Records)

    VOID | sessions 1981-83 | LP

    20.00 (24% tax incl.)
While organizing the Dischord archive, they came across the 4-track of VOID's 1st recording session. This was done at Hit And Run Studios in 1981 and never officially released. The master tape was nowhere to be found so the tape was remixed by Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara at Inner Ear in 2011. This release features that entire session plus their 1st Inner Ear demo including the "flex your head" cuts and song that ended up on the "condensed flesh" 7", 2 outtakes from their 2nd Inner Ear session and a couple of live recordings. Vinyl includes a digital download card. (Dischord Records) https://voidofficial.bandcamp.com/album/sessions-1981-83

  • RIXE | collection | LP

    16.00 (24% tax incl.)
Collection neatly compiles RIXE's first 3 Eps on one album. All 12 cuts have been remastered for maximum volume. Rixe appeared from nowhere and went from strength to strength over the two years since the Debut EP Coup Et Blessures was released in February 2015. The EP was their calling card and harked back to the glory years of Bologna's finest Nabat mixed with the classic 80's French Oi! sound. It was instant and loved by all and went on to have six pressings. A year later came Les Nerf A Vif - another four tracker with extra bite and bile. Every track was perfectly recorded and produced. Lean with snarl and each track a nugget of anthemic Oi!. On third EP Bapteme Du Feu there was no let up in quality...  more. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records)
  • 20 years ago DISCLOSE released their response to the greatest hardcore 12” ever released: DISCHARGE’s Why. At the time the band was at the peak of their DISCHARGE era and had perfectly crafted a trademark sound, which shows through on the recording. The chainsaw-sounding double-toned guitar, Kawakami’s unmistakable vocals, and a rhythm section firmly based on the Stoke-On-Trent’s beat melded together to create a repetitive mantra-like noise chant. Recorded at Grove Cargo and mastered at Studio D-Takt by Jan Jutila, the production is a perfect example of noise not music pressed into vinyl, with both high and low frequencies cutting through the mix without losing any power. Lyrically Nightmare Or Reality focuses on the tragic sights of bullshit fucking war while aurally the record is a full-blown attack on all senses. D-Beat Raw Punk at its best. 20 years on and many times imitated but never duplicated. Originally released by MCR Company, this 20 year anniversary official reissue comes in a printed inner sleeve and heavy board outer sleeve. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records)
  • THE COMES | no side | LP

    20.00 (24% tax incl.)
Official reissue of seminal Japanese Hardcore band THE COMES debut. Originally released in 1983 on Dogma Records, a newly created City Rocker’s side label to release Hardcore/ Hard punk) No Side remains a milestone of first wave Japanese Hardcore. A vital document to understand the days when the Tokyo Hardcore scene was small and unknown with G.I.S.M., EXECUTE, GAUZE and THE COMES as main runners. Bands who shared stages, record labels and who grew to be one of the most varied, influential and enigmatic punk scenes of the planet. THE COMES music is frantic and sharp punk, bass driven and manic sounding with vocalist Chitose aggressive vocals punctuating every syllable and dominating the tunes. Like most first wave Hardcore acts they own their own sound and albeit many times imitated it has never been matched. No Side reissue comes in a heavy paste on board textured sleeve and includes a replica lyric insert. Includes digital pre-order of No Side. You get 2 tracks now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it’s released. https://lavidaesunmus.bandcamp.com/album/no-side
  • ID | twoja twarz | LP

    13.00 (24% tax incl.)
(Shipping: September) Established in 1983, ID is considered the first band from the Polish hardcore/punk scene to be inspired by the sound and energy of hardcore from the USA. Thanks to student exchanges in Krakow, tapes from the NYC and DC hardcore pioneers inspired members of the band. Over the years, they developed their own characteristic sound. Although throughout the 80s and 90s they were the one of the frontrunners of the independent hardcore/punk scene in Poland, they left behind only a vinyl EP and several cassettes. In 1991, the band entered the legendary Złota Skała (Gold Rock) studio and, under the supervision of Robert Brylewski, recorded excellent material for a full-length. They recorded 17 tracks which sounded fresh, dynamic, and with the specific sound of that studio were reminiscent a bit of the "Legenda” of Armia or the first material from Post Regiment recorded a bit later. Both bands were strongly associated with the band from Krakow. The enormous potential and talent of the team finally brought results and things were looking very optimistic for the future. Unfortunately, the band got involved with a record company, which actually inhibited their development, releasing their material only on cassette, and two years too late, in 1993. Twenty-five years have passed since this release, and it has been 35 years since the band formed. We decided it was time to finally release a vinyl record and CD with new mastering. • (Shipping: September) Tokyo powerhouse KRIEGSHÖG returns with a two track 7” of distorted hardcore punk perfection. Facing a line up change the band sound was altered slightly after the previous guitarist quit. The new line up may have taken the guitar fuzziness a notch down in favour of a crunchier guitar tone but amped up the songwriting to the next level with a overdose of riffs, attacking each note with the same ferocious venom they have us accustomed to. These two tracks display both sides of KRIEGSHÖG perfectly, a mid tempo bass driven 4 minute banger backed up by a classic destructive sonic jam with the gnarliest punk vocals out there. Quoting the band “Play Loud and DIE!!!” The high contrast black and white of their aesthetic and sound takes a new turn making room for a conceptual record. Housed in a heavy duty PVC pocket sleeve with artwork silkscreened on it the clear vinyl record with pure black and white labels. • EXTORTION | loose screws | 10″

    11.00 (24% tax incl.)
Arguably the most potent musical force Australian music has seen in the last couple years, Perth's EXTORTION are set to launch a fresh attack on the senses with their latest balls-out thrash incursion, "loose screws". A 12 track effort pushes EXTORTION's well-established power-violence sound to face-ripping new extremes. Recorded across 3 continents, the basic tracks were laid down in California by producer Dan Rathbun (Tragedy, His Hero is Gone, Talk Is Poison), then completed vocals in Perth. As one final flourish, UK-based celebrity EXTORTION fan, Barney of NAPALM DEATH, added his unmistakable roar to the aptly titled "grind to a halt". (Deep Six Records / Draw Blank Records)

Now… out of the blackened arcades straight to a battlement while in elation… While being here and now… (in)actively captured by our (non)intimate ambience and vastly exposed to the present of 2012. A few years after the flash bang… a few years after the bang flashes, some unexpected acquaintances, some unexpected meetings within a different-colored context of morning-hour solitary wandering as the first shore washes up on storm… Odos 55, born in the crossroads of profoundly mature sounds and attitude began to weave their sound in 2010. Today, eirkti records presents their music dressed up with relevant existentially wakeful lines. Full of electrical intensity, in a minimally while artfully performed noisy sound-frame, their musical syntheses accompanied by expressive words motivate the listener to some kind of direct response. From the vividly performed synthetic attack of Αττική Βικτώρια (i.e., Attica Victoria) to the discrete noisy thoughtfulness of Άδειοι δρόμοι (i.e., Empty Streets). From the minimal-punk frenzied beats of Άσπρη Γη (i.e., White Earth) to the neurotic demonstration of Αεικίνητοι (i.e., Restless). From the seemingly placid track of Αταλάνδη (i.e., Atalandi) to those hauntingly delivered such as Ο Κόσμος Τους (i.e., Their World) and Για Πάντα (i.e., Forever). Seven powerful compositions of a truly inspired musical manifesto. Comes in a limited edition of 500 black vinyl copie . (Εἰρκτή) https://odos55.bandcamp.com/album/55-lp-vinyl

  • DELUXE VINYL EDITION!!! CLEAR VINYL Official Discharge reissue of this legendary live release from the band’s golden days, originally released on Clay Records in 1989. A slab of pure rawness that captures these UK Punk icons in an intense, ultra-powerful performance during their legendary 2nd US tour in autumn 1983. These recordings were taped on the sound desk on the night of the concert and although they may lack the technology of full studio recordings they nevertheless capture the live excitement of a Discharge gig. 16.00 (24% tax incl.)
Originally released on venerable Posh Boy Records in 1981, and reissued on the legendary UK label No Future to support their ever-growing European fan base, the "CH3" EP started the long and twisted career of one of the longest running bands among the prime movers of California Punk Rock. Hailing from the thriving community of Cerritos, whose frantic rhythms provided a natural soundtrack for boredom and outrageous alcohol abuse, Channel 3 were was formed by friends-since-third-grade Mike Magrann and Kim Gardener in 1980. Even though after their 'CH3' 12" and the seminal "Fear Of Life" LP the band kept moving towards a more technical approach, experimenting with other forms of music, their early production remains an archetype of young, angry, desperate suburban California punk rock. This enhanced reissue on Radiation also features their "I'll Take My Chances" 7", tracks from compilations, as well as the group’s 'lost' anthem: "Indian Summer". File next to: Adolescents, Black Flag, TSOL and Social Distortion. (Radiation Records)

SHEER MAG returns with their sophomore album, "a distant call". They're still writing about surviving our current hellscape, but this time around the politics get extra personal. The album verges on being a concept piece, and the protagonist resembles frontwoman Tina Halladay herself. (Wilsuns Records) https://sheermag.bandcamp.com/album/a-distant-call
  • Before there was KISS, before there were The Ramones and Blondie, there was The Brats. The Brats and The New York Dolls were at the forefront of the NYC music scene of the Seventies.
Brat, Rick Rivets, actually quit The Dolls to form The Brats. The Brats would become the biggest draw in NYC from 1972 to 1981 and every band hoped to open for them for the exposure. Just ask any one of the members of KISS or The Ramones (“Beat on The Brat!”) or any other NYC band for that matter, The Brats were a big influence on them and the whole NYC music scene of the Seventies. Their story begins one night while hanging out with Alice Cooper downstairs at Max’s, Keith West and the boys were giving the waitress a hard time. Alice leaned over and said “You guys are a bunch of Brats” and they took him literally. Early on, The Brats rehearsed in a loft on Bleecker Street, where they would stage their infamous loft parties, often with an then unsigned band, KISS, as their opening act. They headlined all over the New York City area with other up and coming bands like Blondie, The Ramones, Television, Talking Heads and The Heartbreakers. They would often be featured in Rock Scene Magazine, which gave them international exposure and helped to sell out shows at places like Max’s, CBGB’s, Gildersleeves, and The Ritz. The Brats released two singles on their own label, Whiplash Records. Both “Be a Man” (w/B side”Qualude Queen”) and “Keep Doing What You’re Doing” (w/B side, “If You Can Rock You Can Roll”) were released in the Seventies and are now highly sought after by record collectors all over the world. In 1976 they were asked to record their song, “First Rock Star on the Moon”, for Max’s Kansas City’s second compilation album of NYC artists. Frustration with not getting the recognition they deserved was eventually the cause for the band to breakup. Ron Blanchard left to form the band, the Roost, and Scott st.Clair Sheets left to join the Pat Benatar Band. It was here that Scott would have success as a songwriter, penning the songs “Prisoner of Love” and “Fire and Ice”, which went on to be a top 10 hit and won a Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for Benatar. Joe “TV” Guido and Keith continued The Brats with the help of Sammy Merendino (Cyndi Lauper) on drums and Tony Guarino (a former Brat) on guitar. Tony was later replaced by Brendan O’Brien, who went on to become a sought after producer working with the likes of Pearl Jam, Bruce Springstein, AC/DC, and many other top rock acts. The Brats finally disbanded in 1987 after briefly changing their name to “The Secrets”. (Rave Up Records)

  • Formed in 1985 as one of the leading figures of the burgeoning UK grindcore scene (along with such acts as Carcass or Napalm Death), Extreme Noise Terror's popularity immediately went over the roof as they became one of the personal faves of no less than John Peel, who went on to give them three session (the first and the last of which were soon released on Strange Fruit). This legendary perfomance at the Fulham Greyhound, recorded when the band was on top of their game, shows one of most influential names in the metal and punk scene at their rawest and most ferocious. 'Bullshit Propaganda', 'Show Us You Care', Another Nail In The Coffin', are just a few of the hits captured that night on this recently exhumed recording, on vinyl for the first time in this fully-legit, remastered and beatifully packaged version.
