Out of stockIconAclass is a passion project from MC/producer Will Brooks. Best known as MC dälek, the front person and co-producer in experimental Hip Hop group Dälek. He has explored the left of center/ wall of noise world ala My Bloody Valentine meets Public Enemy on 8 studio albums and numerous collaborations. Their sophomore full length album Changing Culture with Revolvers features MC dälek back on production and Emcee duties, and recruits long time deadverse massive & Labteksmember, Dev-One on vocals as well. The contrast in voice and rhyme style provides the album with a brand new take on hard hitting gritty East Coast Hip Hop. As always, cuts are provided by Mixmaster Motiv. Changing Culture with Revolvers is poised to open eyes and infiltrate eardrums. Pure hip-hop, hypnotic, heavy beats serve as more than just a backdrop. They focus a spotlight squarely on the lyrics, and iconAclass has a lot on their mind! 12 tracks with a heady blend of lyrics and grimy East Coast Boom-Bap beats skewed through the Deadverse prism. Sale!1st Full Lenght album PostPunk / Deathrock from Mallorca (Review Fede1984) Ladies and gentlemen, take note. Metadona stops looting graves to present us with a group with a present, even if they seem to have risen from the afterlife. It is precisely from there that they land, the beautiful Palma, in Mallorca. Unearthed they celebrate their first 10 years with “Danzando en el caos” an LP debut where after punk appears as fresh as it was in its early days. They are not dead by a miracle and with this new edition, from their already mythical tape for Sangre Azul, these young souls reestablish their bonds of evil. With lyrics in Spanish that invoke fears, passions, dramas and the smell of burning, they conjure up an album that evokes memories of the past. Now that their graves are empty we can assure you that this album is called to be a perennial classic capable of awakening your most dying smile. It really is a strange day this one in which you rediscover between whispers that suddenly you continue to adore this strange cult of blood, pain, desire and pleasure without suffering. Deep down, not everything is so bad, although when you understand that you were born to die, you know that you will not leave without setting this world on fire before leaving. Mallorca's light is famous all over the world, but not so much its coven in the shadows of the racecourse. They couldn't take it anymore and with this collection of songs they have managed to make the colors no longer shine. They are strong and their injuries make them feel less helpless when they are together. Metadona couldn't wait any longer and together with Symphony of Destruction they present us this new Balearic punk revenge that will defy all borders between dawn and dawn. Raise your body, let your heart beat, unleash the madness locked in your mind, your thirst for love is compensated. Eduardo knows it well, they are the harsh consequences of playing in the cemetery. Boys and girls, whoever warns is not a traitor. Mourning for all! (Symphony of Destruction)

There are moments on Drunk Tank Pink where you almost have to reach for the sleeve to check this is the same band who made 2018’s Songs Of Praise. Such is the jump Shame have made from the riotous post-punk of their debut to the sprawling adventurism and twitching anxieties laid out here. The South Londoner’s blood and guts spirit, that wink and grin of devious charm, is still present, it’s just that it’s grown into something bigger, something deeper, more ambitious and unflinchingly honest. The genius of Drunk Tank Pink is how these lyrical themes dovetail with the music. Opener Alphabet dissects the premise of performance over a siren call of nervous, jerking guitars, its chorus thrown out like a beer bottle across a mosh pit. Songs spin off and lurch into unexpected directions throughout here, be it March Day’s escalating aural panic attack or the shapeshifting darkness of Snow Day. There’s a Berlin era Bowie beauty to the lovelorn Human For A Minute while closer Station Wagon weaves from a downbeat mooch into a souring, soul- lifting climax in which Steen elevates himself beyond the clouds and into the heavens. Or at least that’s what it sounds like. From the womb to the clouds (sort of), Shame are currently very much in the pink. (Dead Oceans)

The second Black Randy single and a classic just like the debut. Black Randy was a talented lyricist whose work brims with irony and thumbs its nose at everything, even the L.A. proto-punk culture that spawned them. Black Randy & the Metrosquad were perhaps the wittiest band on the L.A. punk scene in the late '70s. Their sardonic humor and musicality still holds up well decades later, and is light years away from the regimented sameness of approach that afflicted L.A.-based punk bands that formed shortly after their demise. Originally released in 1978 on Dangerhouse Records, this single is a bonafide Los Angeles punk rock classic. This 4 song EP comes on black vinyl and is a faithful repro of the original pressing. Limited edition. (Dangerhouuse Records/Unofficial Release)

Black Randy and his Metrosquad were a supergroup of the Hollywood punk era: the line up included members of the Randoms, Eyes and the Dils as well as one of the other founding partners of Dangerhouse, David Brown. Black Randy was a tragic mixture of genius and self-abuse, known for writing lyrics in PCP/alcohol/diabetic stupors which mirrored the despair of the human condition in a way that deserved immortality. This classic EP that was released by Dangerhouse Records features 3 immortal LA punk rock cuts: “Trouble At The Cup, “Sperm Bank Baby”, & “Loner With a Boner”. Black vinyl. Limited edition. The long awaited and highly anticipated debut LP from THE OLD FIRM CASUALS is is here! The Old Firm Casuals (Lars Frederiksen, Casey Watson, and Paul Rivas), who have delivered an impressive series of EPs at a feverish pace since their inception, have now released their debut full length- THIS MEANS WAR! "Released" doesn't do this record justice. "Released" might make you think that The Old Firm Casuals got together and recorded another dozen or so great songs. It might make you think their debut LP is merely the next step for The Old Firm Casuals. While we were all focused on each impressive step of the band's all-out sprint since Oi! the Boat first delivered them to the shore, The Old Firm Casuals had their eyes locked on something on the horizon. While we would have been content to watch them run forever, they were not running for the sake of running. They had somewhere they wanted-or needed to be. They had a predestined purpose for the momentum they worked hard to build. "This Mean War" is like the adrenaline soaked battle cry of a band smashing through the shield wall and unleashing what they prepared during a long voyage spent honing, preparing, and anticipating this moment. Out of stockDemon Records is delighted to present the reissue programme of the albums by THE COMSAT ANGELS originally recorded between 1980-'90 on vinyl. These albums prove beyond all reasonable doubt that while commercial recognition may have eluded the Sheffield-based quartet, they still accumulated one of the most enviable, enduring and unsung catalogues known to rock. This series begins with the trio of iconic, post-punk era LPs the Comsats recorded for Polydor - WAITING FOR A MIRACLE; SLEEP NO MORE and FICTION); and also CHASING SHADOWS coupled with FIRE ON THE MOON (the latter recorded while the Comsat Angels were known as Dream Command), which were both originally released by Island Records. All these expanded editions come with bonus second discs, plus booklets with, lyrics, rare photos and detailed liner notes by Tim Peacock (Record Collector) with participation from Steve Fellows. The third and final album for the Polydor label was the understated FICTION (1982). Perhaps the most under-rated of the three albums for the label, it has stood the test of time and remains a fan-favourite. (Demon Records)

Out of stockThe Germs are one of the most legendary and venerated of all Los Angeles hardcore punk bands. The roots of the group stemmed from the meeting of two minds at an alternative school in the late 1970s, when future vocalist Jan Paul Beahm, AKA Darby Crash, met guitarist George Ruthenberg, AKA Pat Smear, the latter a reformed Jesus freak. Spearheading the west coast hardcore scene, the band burst into public consciousness with an explosive performance at The Whisky in 1977 (introduced by future Go Go Belinda Carlisle and KROQ disc jockey Rodney Bingenheimer), with Crash (then known as Bobby Pyn) and Smear joined by bassist Lorna Doom and drummer Donna Rhia, this line-up featuring on debut single, "Forming". Crash's rambling, sneering and often sarcastic vocals were the perfect foil to Smear's superfast thrash-guitar licks, and Smash was a dynamic frontman too, despite his volatile personality. After borrowing Weirdos drummer Nicky Beat for the "Lexicon Devil" single, debut album GI (1979), incongruously produced by Joan Jett of The Runaways, saw the introduction of Arizona-born drummer Nicky Bolles. The band's revered status and early innovation kept them on top of the LA punk scene heap, yet Crash ended up overdosing on heroin in December 1980, his death an apparent suicide. After releasing solo material in the late 1980s, in 1992 Smear was asked to replace John Frusciante in The Red Hot Chili Peppers but opted to join Nirvana instead, his presence there sparking the Germs revival that yielded the outtakes and live rarities set, Cats Clause, which includes rare live material from the Hong Kong Café, as well as material from Crash's final concert at the Starwood in 1980, and more rare material. Gatefold sleeve and printed inner sleeve with rare photos and other memorabilia. Also includes a 60x60cm poster. Licensed from San Juan Music. (Radiation Records)

Out of stockGame returns after their 2019 full-length No One Wins with the Legerdemain EP. Piercing the listener with nonstop aural carnage, the EP would be an apt soundtrack to the armageddon. Part Venom, part Death Side, all live and loud, Legerdemain offers no restful moments. An instrumental masterclass with blistering drumming from Jonah Falco, weird and wonderful guitar melodies conjured up by Cal Baird, and a rumbling and decapitating buzzsaw bass by Nicky Rat, the release's finishing move is an ever-changing vocal tone by Ola H. Legerdemain can be a rewarding, or punishing, aural journey depending on your perspective. The new release, which was recorded and mixed by Jonah and mastered by extreme music legend Arthur Rizk finds Game leaning heavily into their metal influences, with sounds of early 80s UK steel given extra ferocity through the lens of Japanese hardcore punk from the same era. Having toured multiple times in Europe and North America, Game, which features members of Fucked Up, Arms Race and Violent Reaction, is equally comfortable playing to punks, metalheads and everyone in between. ‘Legerdemain’ is a magician’s term meaning sleight of hand, a key skill of deception. The term is used as a metaphor for our current post-truth society where governments, technocracies, and financial institutions use smoke and mirrors to create a farcical and bewildering existence where one cannot know if something is real or not in order to cover up social injustice and mechanisms that drive inequality. As Legerdemain progresses, one is being continually dragged along towards an apocalyptic ending on "Release", which reflects on this current predicament as a nuclear explosion approaches with nothing left to do except give into the madness. There is a constant cycle of rising again, fighting against wrong doing, exhaustion, and endings. The lyrics in Polish, English and a sprinkle of French, represent the multinational members of the band, who feel culturally in a no man’s land, which in fact is everyone’s experience in 2021. Legerdemain tries to answer this anomie with urgent metal punk that is hauntingly relevant. (Quality Control Records)

Sale!In a time when the death cult of this capitalism-thingamabob becomes even more obvious, a great amount of cloud-rap-autotune to become Chancellor is missing. But, hey, I`m still in love with large parts of that punk rock. And a band that makes the word "solidarity" one of the main themes of their album these days ("Grandpa, you’re repeating yourself.”) without being embarrassing earns a place in my heart. That is, if the band hadn’t had it already anyway: At El Mariachi concerts, you might see people in the first row ("never seen that at punk concerts") in Get Up Kids shirts next to a determined Slime shirt. I saw El Mariachi twice at the end of 2018, after their final show at the time, in 1848 in front of the Paulskirche. And I still had the feeling everyone was decently (!) going bananas, without suddenly finding myself in a room full of assholes. A rare feeling. Chapeau. It was loud, it was noisy, and yet there was always something to bring about an amorous smile. It was too hot, and yes, it was also a bit beery, people were having fun, and I’m thirsting so much for the next time.... The third album is awesome. It's their best. It's even funny (The end of the song „Gratis Geld“ is God). It's melancholic and combative. It's El and Mariachi: German lyrics that convey something like a concrete attitude without making your toenails wrap around your neck, straight punk paired with rhythmic melodies for billions. All of that in its particular combination makes the album something very, very special. It is the last bullet for the tenderness of the peoples and against Christian Lindner. Therefore, the Golden Hen 2021 goes to El Mariachi! (Sabotage Records)

After a well received demo, ZIG ZAG has been making waves at shows around America as well as their home ground of South Florida. Playing punk hardcore that is as akin to Germs and Blatz on "Gets Worse", Zig Zag showcases their sassy, sardonic take on the genre. Ranging from short and speedy hardcore bursts to mid tempo punk masterpieces, their newest release has all in store. All songs are dedicated to the loving memory of their deceased guitarist, Austin, whose final recordings are on this release. 500 seven inches pressed with 100 limited on black and white mix. Sale!Leeds/London band KOMA deliver their debut LP "Internment Failure": 12 tracks of brutal, unrelenting, constantly contorting and mutating hardcore - perfectly encapsulating the desperation of living in the final generations of a failed state, watching the life of the planet ebb away. Frantically written and recorded across 2 cities within the band's first 12 months of existence, KOMA casts a wide net of global influences but refuses to be indebted to any one singular band or scene. At times recalling the classic Finnish & Swedish hardcore of MELLAKKA and CRUDE SS mixed with the raw distorted brute power of VOĈO PROTESTA and BASTARD; echoes of the unhinged mayhem of ATAQUE FRONTAL and CHAIN REACTION subside to moments of gothic tension like TOŽIBABE and PYHÄKOULU. KOMA makes a bold and ambitious statement of intent, a wholly-realised vision and fully-formed sound of pummeling riffs and powerful vocals that will remind of SACRILEGE's debut. "Internment Failure" was expertly recorded by James Atkinson over a weekend at The Stationhouse in Leeds and then pushed beyond the extreme by Shigenori Kobayashi at Noise Room. Record sleeve features a nightmarish painting/collage by artist Thomas Wade, logos & text by A. Wildman, and a double-sided insert poster/lyric sheet designed by guitarist Simon Marsham with Isabel O'Toole. Out of stockPre-1982 material by this legendary group. All recorded before releasing their self-titled LP. All songs have been previously released. Legendary Swiss punk band from the late 70s. “You can't dispute Liliput's status as pioneers of feminist art-punk. Along with fellow travelers like the Slits and the Raincoats, this (mostly) female Swiss group took advantage of punk's anything-goes attitude and created jittery, spirited pop that was both in step with the times and completely singular. The early material is a riot of exuberant energy, taking stylistic cues from peers like Gang of Four and Wire-- propulsive bass, skittering pop rhythms, slashing guitars-- and adding distinctive overlapping vocal patterns, which are sung, shrieked, and hiccupped in three languages and made-up dadaistic slang. More than 20 years on, it still sounds fresh.” - Lisa Gidley Release Notes: First Songs combines all the pre-1982 material, all 3 Kleenex singles, the first 2 Liliput 7"’s and all the originally unreleased material prior to Liliput’s debut LP Label: Kill Rock Stars, Mississippi Records, Water Wing Records Barcode: 0759656062916

The musical transition that seemed to have just begun with Fear of Music came to fruition on Talking Heads' fourth album, Remain in Light. "I Zimbra" and "Life During Wartime" from the earlier album served as the blueprints for a disc on which the group explored African polyrhythms on a series of driving groove tracks, over which David Byrne chanted and sang his typically disconnected lyrics. Remain in Light had more words than any previous Heads record, but they counted for less than ever in the sweep of the music. The album's single, "Once in a Lifetime," flopped upon release, but over the years it became an audience favourite due to a striking video, its inclusion in the band's 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense, and its second single release (in the live version) because of its use in the 1986 movie Down and Out in Beverly Hills, when it became a minor chart entry. Byrne sounded typically uncomfortable in the verses ("And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife/And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?"), which were undercut by the reassuring chorus ("Letting the days go by"). Even without a single, Remain in Light was a hit, indicating that Talking Heads were connecting with an audience ready to follow their musical evolution, and the album was so inventive and influential, it was no wonder. As it turned out, however, it marked the end of one aspect of the group's development and was their last new music for three years. Released on white vinyl for Rhino Records' "Rocktober" Reissue. Printed inner sleeve. Label: Sire – RCD1 70802 Barcode: 603497840311

Out of stockReissue on 180 gr vinyl. The groups third studio album, originally released in 1985, remastered on 180g vinyl. Low-Life is the third studio album by English rock band New Order, released on 13 May 1985 by Factory Records. It is considered to be among the band's strongest work, displaying the moment they completed their transformation from post-punk hold-overs to dance-rockers. The album shows New Order's increased incorporation of synthesisers and samplers, while still preserving the rock elements of their earlier work. (Rhino Records/Vinyl Collector/2015)

SKEEZICKS started in 1984 in the small town of Nagold, southern Germany. Along with bands like SPERMBIRDS or HOSTAGES OF AYATOLLAH, they were one of the first German bands playing "US-influenced hardcore", directly inspired by bands like NEGATIVE APPROACH, MINOR THREAT, FAITH and VOID. Being from a small town and in response to bringing US styled hardcore and aesthetics to the German scene, the band was met with with rejection and criticism by traditional Deutschpunkers. At the same time they were able to create vibrant scene around their hometown with regular hardcore shows featuring local and international acts. The band’s shows were a template for the next decades of hardcore shows to come, with a focus on fun, stage dives and all within a non-violent atmosphere. Additionally, Skeezicks bassist Armin ran X-mist Records where the band's vinyl outputs were released. To this day, this label is one of the strongest institutions for independent music. During their time Skeezicks managed to play in Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Denmark, release one LP and one 7” and appeared on various vinyl and tape compilations. Their impact on the hardcore punk scene in Germany is unquestionable and they became an integral part of the 80's European hardcore scene. This discography double album contains their full length “Selling out!” LP, the “There’s a charlie brown in everyone of us!” 7”, compilation tracks (“Smelling just another bad breath”, “Trust-Vinyl Compilation”, “How will you know what this record sounds like if you don’t listen to it”), the “We make noise...” demo and also two unreleased tracks intended to appear on Hageland Hardcore Records compilation. These tracks were lost for many years and were found just recently. The accompanying booklet contains photos by Anne Ulrich and Theun K, flyers, band lyrics, and also liner notes by Helge Schreiber (Network Of Friends), Flo (Heartfirst Records), Marc Hanou (B.T.D., Betray, Birds Of A Feather) and Christian Unsinn (Take It Back Records). Classic front cover design by Brian Walsby, created in 1985 for the Skeezicks debut EP and then colored by him in 2021! Total 42 tracks incl. cover songs of THE VIBRATORS, NEGATIVE APPROACH and FAITH. Here’s important piece of German and European Hardcore history that you can’t ignore! (Refuse Records)

Out of stockRemastered and reissued on Anti. The fourth release in Tom Waits' series of skid row travelogues, Small Change proves to be the archetypal album of his '70s work. A jazz trio comprising tenor sax player Lew Tabackin, bassist Jim Hughart, and drummer Shelly Manne, plus an occasional string section, back Waits and his piano on songs steeped in whiskey and atmosphere in which he alternately sings in his broken-beaned drunk's voice (now deeper and overtly influenced by Louis Armstrong) and recites jazzy poetry. It's as if Waits were determined to combine the Humphrey Bogart and Dooley Wilson characters from Casablanca with a dash of On the Road's Dean Moriarty to illuminate a dark world of bars and all-night diners. Of course, he'd been in that world before, but in songs like The Piano Has Been Drinking and Bad Liver and a Broken Heart, Waits gives it its clearest expression. Essential 180g Vinyl reissue on Anti. (Anti/2018)
