• 2008 release, the third album from the tireless and tour-hungry L.A. Hardcore band spearheaded by the endless enthusiasm of frontman Scott Vogel. Their melding of no-frills breakneck Hardcore and the fervor of new generation Metal bridges the gap between young and old, and it makes for one hell of a pit no matter what city or stage the band leaves in ruin. This vicious slab of brutality was produced by the renowned Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) and is sure to please the band's diehard fanbase, while garnering a new legion of young maniacal supporters. Smart Alex is the third studio album by punk band the Adicts. It was released in September 1985 by Razor Records. The Adicts were an influential and idiosyncratic British punk outfit formed in the late '70s in Ipswich, Suffolk by lead singer Monkey (Keith Warren), guitarist Pete Davidson, bassist Mel Ellis, and drummer Kid Dee (Michael Davison). Originally operating under the moniker Afterbirth & the Pinz, the quartet began performing as the Adicts in 1979, and quickly became known for their wry lyrics, ferocious yet upbeat sonic attack, and distinctive image -- the band affected the look of the black boots and bowler cap-adorned "droogs" from the film A Clockwork Orange, and peppered their live shows with streamers, confetti, playing cards, beach balls, joker hats, toy instruments, bubbles, and glitter. They released their debut EP, Lunch with the Adicts, in 1979 via the Dining Out label, and in 1981 they issued their inaugural full-length, Songs of Praise, independently on their own Dwed Wecords -- the LP was reissued the following year on Fallout Records, and included the single "Viva la Revolution," which would become one of the group's best-loved tracks. • By distinctively combining sardonic wit, romanticism and timeless tunes, they produced such classics as 'Orgasm Addict', 'What Do I Get?' and 'Ever Fallen in Love?' Their split in 1981 only heightened their reputation as one of the brashest and most melodic bands ever, and the widespread acclaim that has greeted their reformation and subsequent new material has solidified their reputation as perhaps the most relevant punk band of today. The Complete History draws on years of research and numerous interviews with the band and associates, and contains meticulous detail of every gig, record release, rehearsal, recording session, bootleg and line-up, including an entire history of the band members' many and varied solo projects. In addition, a complete discography of Buzzcocks material, as well as photographs of every line up (including many previously unseen shots) complete the ultimate collectable for any fan. • THE COMES | no side | LP

Official reissue of seminal Japanese Hardcore band THE COMES debut. Originally released in 1983 on Dogma Records, a newly created City Rocker’s side label to release Hardcore/ Hard punk) No Side remains a milestone of first wave Japanese Hardcore. A vital document to understand the days when the Tokyo Hardcore scene was small and unknown with G.I.S.M., EXECUTE, GAUZE and THE COMES as main runners. Bands who shared stages, record labels and who grew to be one of the most varied, influential and enigmatic punk scenes of the planet. THE COMES music is frantic and sharp punk, bass driven and manic sounding with vocalist Chitose aggressive vocals punctuating every syllable and dominating the tunes. Like most first wave Hardcore acts they own their own sound and albeit many times imitated it has never been matched. No Side reissue comes in a heavy paste on board textured sleeve and includes a replica lyric insert. Includes digital pre-order of No Side. • "14 Year Old High School PC-Fascist Hype Lords Rip Off Devo for the Sake of Extorting $$$ from Helpless Impressionable Midwestern Internet Peoplepunks L.P." The NWI scene is on another level to the rest of humanity. Oh yes, it's going to get weird once you put this shit on. Coneheads are a basement punk band who have decided to douse themselves in creepy circus riffs, robot meets alien vocals with science-fiction wackyness. Keep in mind, it's still punk and damn catchy! Who said weird can't be catchy?

They sound like DOW JONES AND THE INDUSTRIALS on speed or a more manic DEVO. This would perfectly fit in 1982 but I doubt they were born before 92. Major points for historical awareness! The rhythm barrels along while solos are interspersed at six second intervals, desperately played like a blur between a Jerry Lee Richard piano solo and a fevered banjo picker who lives in an Appalachian cave. It's hard to find the line between cheap gimmick and true weirdness sometimes, but this one shows that line with every spin. This band is highly addictive and leaves you stunned! • Founded in 1982, The Crack didn't release their debut album until 1989. These British punkers were often tied into the Oi! scene of the mid-'80s along with Cockney Rejects and The Business, but they had more in common with the melodic punk stylings of 999 and mod groups like The Jam or Secret Affair. Featuring a blistering wall of guitars and biting melodies, from the classic album opener 'My World' to the raw closer 'The Giddy House' The Crack deliver ten fantastic original tunes that, while firmly rooted in 1980s UK anthemic punk, also features a pop sensibility that presages the oncoming Brit-pop scene that would absolutely dominate the '90s. Seriously, we'd bet the farm that the young Gallagher brothers were blasting this back in 1989. Absolutely essential 1980s UK punk that bridges the gap between '80s Oi! and the Brit-pop/power-pop revival. Killer. (Radiation Records)
• Formed in 1978 and regulars at Belfast punk haunts The Harp Bar and The Pound by 1980, The Defects achieved only local recognition until their debut 45 Dance (Til You Drop) was released through their own Casualty imprint in 1981. Selling out of its initial 2,000 pressing, the single led to a deal with London’s WXYZ label which released The Defects’ lone studio LP Defective Breakdown in 1982, netting them an Indie Top 10 success and a high-profile support slot on label mates The Anti-Nowhere League’s controversial So What UK tour into the bargain. Thirty six years on, Defective Breakdown remains one of the superior punk platters from the UK82 era. It hardly reinvents punk’s wheel, but the best of its impassioned, UK Subs-style gob-athons (Killer On The Streets, We Don’t Care) still convince, while the fizzing, hormonal rush of the Buzzcocks-y Deprived and the ritualistic, Killing Joke-esque power of Survival both provide signposts to future roads the Antrim boys could have taken. Ultimately, though, outside forces would decide The Defects’ fate. With punk’s second wave quickly running out of steam and their ill-conceived cover of Elvis Presley’s Suspicious Minds stiffing, they abruptly split after supporting the reconstituted Clash at Belfast’s Ulster Hall in February 1984. Official reissue with bonus tracks. (Restless Empire Records)
  • We are proud to announce the first ever reissue of the first ever punk rock full length album to emanate from New Zealand. The Dum Dum Boys were more than a little informed by the proto punk sounds of Detroit - in particular The Stooges (they took their name from an Iggy song). They also were obsessed with the sonic mayhem produced by the likes of the Dead Boys and The Ramones. Hailing from working class West Auckland, the band formed in 1980 and started playing their brand of thug punk, which branded them as instant outsiders to most of the West population still clinging to their Zeppelin and James Taylor albums. In 1981 the band self-released Let There Be Noise on their own Bondage Records. It’s been out of print for decades and when copies turn up they aren’t cheap. We are happy to make this punk rock classic easily accessible once again. Newly remastered for better sound with original artwork and insert replicated. A must for any punk rock enthusiast! Blazing away with the Necros and the Meatmen, The Fix is part of the foundation of what would become Touch And Go. This collection of recordings will be released on both CD and vinyl and includes both early Touch And Go singles, the track from the "Process Of Elimination" track, a few demo tracks from the "Jans Room" sessions and live tracks from a 1981 tour. • Finally available again Texas punk classic ‘Panacea’ 12” plus four unreleased tracks! This is the secret story of this crazy record… “Originally, the 12” was recorded in 1981 at Wells Sound in one day, & mixed on the next. The band leader, guitarist Christian Arnheiter decided to record “Houston”, originally done by Dean Martin, in direct response to Wendy O. Williams’ amazing cover of Bobby Darin’s “Dream Lover”. It turned out to be one of the better decisions he’s made over the decades; people still ask to hear it at shows. And besides, what could possibly be a better tribute to the city that is the home of The Hates? Christian penned “Also Watched” specifically for this album, thinking along the Big Brother lines of spy satellites watching us as if we were the enemy. He was really proud of Lawrence’s drumming for that song.“Nuclear Age”, “Science’s Fiction”, “Punk 1301”, “This Year’s Model”, & “What Am I Living For?” rounded out the recording. As an experiment for this 12”, Paul suggested that they slow down the tempo on “This Year’s Model” even though they never played it that way live. And here’s an interesting note: this record was pressed in the same plant in Florida that helped to put out the Bee Gees & Eric Clapton albums the year before. Because Paul left to fulfill his psychiatry internship in Austin & Lawrence went on to get a higher education as well, Panacea was released without that lineup to represent it. While the record was being pressed by one company, the sleeves were printed by another company, & a third company printed the lyric sheets. When everything arrived, what could have been a boring job putting all those discs into sleeves turned into a little fun. Christian’s mother’s boyfriend, Lazaro, ended up helping out; he even took the finished 12” to a company down the street to get them shrink-wrapped. In fact, they actually put him in front of the machine & had him do it. How punk rock is that? Literally putting together your own album!” (Christian Arnheiter) So… after this… are you ready to get his album?! (Rave Up Records) https://thehates1.bandcamp.com/releases
  • The Hives’ 1997 debut “Barely Legal”made available on vinyl again. After being out of print for years, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the landmark album by releasing it on heavy quality black vinyl. The Hives’ debut shot thru the punk community like a runaway locomotive, with faster-than-fast blistering punk that had the punks cheering and raising bottles and cans, but left most of the mainstream going “oh...wel...uhm what?” (Burning Heart Records) https://vimeo.com/73582300
  • Veni Vidi Vicious re-released on silver vinyl. Rousing, stompin' garage rock from these Swedes, with plenty of mod and frantic punk energy to keep you grooving along. Party Party! they seem to be saying, and you just want to join. This is definite change-up from the usual hyperspeed pop-ska-punk dross offered on Epitaph. Perhaps this arises from the fact that these guys are only distributed on Epitaph and yet are actually on the Burning Heart imprint. Plenty of fuzzed, struttin', propulsive guitar work on this disc to assault your ears. Well worth your time to take a spin. More records like this need to exist. (Burning Heart Records)

While Montego Bay natives Jackie Bernard, his brother Footy Bernard and cousin Lloyd Kerr recorded under various guises in the early '60s, their collective arrival as The Kingstonians in 1967 marked a sea change not only in the vocal trio's productivity and popularity, but also in the emerging Reggae sound. The Kingstonians made several chart-topping singles between 1968 and 1970, including the massive hit "Singer Man" whose success ultimately led to the release of their sole LP, Sufferer. Originally issued on Trojan, Sufferer collects a dozen of The Kingstonians' best-known songs. Produced by Derrick Harriott, these truly boss sounds would pack dancehalls on the island as well as become the soundtrack for working-class youth across '70s Britain. The title track remains a classic of the early Reggae era with impeccable arrangements, stuttering organ and soul-steeped lyrics. The Kingstonians' shift away from Rocksteady modes is perhaps most apparent on the aforementioned "Singer Man" – an irresistible forward groove, prompting a deeper danceability that is rightly centered on real feeling. Antarctica Starts Here presents the first-time domestic release of Sufferer. Reproducing the original sleeve design, this reissue is part of an archival series that focuses on Trojan's essential '60s and '70s catalogue. Liner notes by Laurence Cane-Honeysett. (Antarctica Starts Here Records)
  • Black leather, spikes and chains, The Lewd is, as Dirk Dirksen put it, "One of them kind of acts." Their 1982 album, "American Wino," is violent, ugly, perverse and frightening. The songs betray a bleak and ominous vision of American life seen through the eyes of youth without hope of a future. This is not the San Francisco sound of the '60s, but rather the belligerent sounds of these Seattle transplants' fight for survival on the gritty streets where the dejection of last generation's Utopian failures meets the stark realities of economic deprivation. This is fast, jarring and furious punk rock at its finest. Long languishing in obscurity due to its rarity, the reissue of this seminal LP makes it a compulsory component of any punk rock record collection. (Fan Club)
