Out of stockIf the Misfits were one of the greatest punk bands then Walk Among Us released in 1982 is perhaps one of the greatest records in punk history. While Static Age and Earth AD showcased a band searching for an identity like a vampire for its next victim, Walk Among Us is almost sheer perfection. With a solidified lineup, fully grown-out devillocks (the Misfits trademark long spike of hair in the front) and the stabilizing presence of the somewhat pedestrian but agile arthur googy on drums, uber-misfit Glenn Danzig was finally able to match his zombie-elvis to a worthy musical foil. From the manic opening of 20 Eyes to the monster football chorus of Braineaters, there is nothing less than a sublime moment on this album from start to finish. Astro Zombies or I Turned into a Martian sound like songs to raise the dead by. a special bonus is perhaps the tenderest love song to decapitation (Skulls) in recent memory. Lp comes with double sided insert. (Ruby Records/Unofficial)

Out of stockZounds formed in Reading in 1977 releasing their first single Can’t Cheat Karma on Crass Records in 1980. This early association with Crass meant they were key figures in the bourgeoning anarcho-punk scene along with The Mob, Poison Girls, Flux of Pink Indians and many others. Moving to Rough Trade Records the band released their first album The Curse of Zounds in 1982, recording and mixing the LP within five days. The cover art, by anarchist artist Clifford Harper, featured a painting of fire fighters apparently trying to put out a blaze at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. However, the picture continued onto the back cover, which showed that in fact they are spraying the fire with petrol, thus feeding it. Someone must have slipped one of those post-anarcho-syndicalist pamphlets in with these guys’ Beano comics! This is sturdy, above-average English pop-punk with some surprisingly infectious hooks. But the foursome ain’t just disaffected youngsters lookin’ for a kiss (or any ol’ white riot) – they’re searching out the meaning of life in the post-industrial capitalist system. As long as you’ve got the tunes, fellas – go for it! – Trouser Press. "The curse of zounds" is now seen as a classic of the genre and one of the most inspirational albums of the post-punk period. FINALLY!!! Re-released on vinyl after 40 years! "Disturbing Domestic Peace, The Ex's debut album, appeared mere months after their first single, 1980's All Corspes Smell The Same. Originally released on the band's own Verrecords (they made up different label names with each record), the LP falls squarely within a punk idiom and, at the same time, shows this influential Dutch group's restless energy. Terrie Ex's guitar serves up vectors of percussive pulse, fraying the edges of the music's squared-off rhythms. Vocalist G.W. Sok – an anarchist Dziga Vertov with a mic – observes, declaims and condemns across a set of interrelated political concerns that would return in Ex-music for years to come. While The Ex channel the poise and principled attack of Crass or Flux Of Pink Indians, they create a unique declamatory sound all their own – trailing brilliant flashes of color in the wake of punk's monochrome palette. Offering ten songs in only twenty-two minutes, Disturbing Domestic Peace lays bare a vivid snapshot of a truly singular band who (at the time) were just finding their feet." This first-time vinyl reissue comes with bonus 7-inch, inserts and 20-page booklet. LP Track Listing: The Sky Is Blue Again Map Outlook-Army Sucking Pig A Sense Of Tumour Meanwhile Rules Squatsong Warning-Shot New Wars Bonus 7-inch Track Listing: Introduction Human Car Punk Horse Terrie (guitar), G.W. Sok (vocals), Bas (bass), Ome Geurt (drums). Recorded at Joke's Koeienverhuurbedrijf, Schellingwoude, Netherlands. Produced by Dolf Planteijdt. (The Ex Records/Superior Viaduct Records)

Ratos De Porão's Crucificados Pelo Sistema (1984) contains all the fury, the frustration, the rage and the pain of four young ones against the system in a country that was in the midst of a change from Third World to trying to fitting into a new social order. The projected image of Brazil with its beautiful mulatas, exotic beaches and tropical fruit drinks filled them with disgust, living there in one of the most dangerous cities in Latin America. Their reality was brutal and they wanted to scream it at the entire world. Sixteen songs were formed on the same base as what would later be called "D-beat." The Finnish bands from the '80s were really important in the Brazilian punk scene, just as Discharge was. Simple, fast and straight to the point. Two classic songs have been added for this special occasion, recorded for the classic Ataque Sonoro compilation (which also contains Brazilian pioneers such as Virus 27, Colera, Armagedom or Lobotomia, amongst others). 180 gram vinyl. Housed in a gatefold with pics and musings by Gordo. (Beat Generation Records)

The Offspring's metal-inflected punk became a popular sensation in 1994, selling over four million albums on an independent record label. While the group's credentials and approach follow the indie rock tradition of the '80s, sonically they sound more like an edgy, hard-driving heavy metal band, with their precise, pulsing power chords and Dexter Holland's flat vocals. Featuring Holland, guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman, bassist Greg Kriesel, and drummer Ron Welty, the Offspring released their self-titled debut album in 1989. Four years later, their second album, Ignition, became an underground hit, setting the stage for the across-the-board success of 1994's Smash, which still holds the record as the biggest selling indie release of all time. Out of stockMTJ Records present a reissue of Siekiera's Nowa Aleksandria, originally released in 1986. A classic record from the legendary '80s Polish post punk band. Originally released in 1986, Nowa Aleksandria caught brilliantly the cold, sultry atmosphere of the dark times of last years of communism in Poland. Influenced by British post punk heroes like Joy Division and Killing Joke, the album represents one of the most important records in the history of Polish rock. Graphic layout by Alessandro Adriani; Re-arranged from the original design cover by Alek Januszewski. Mastered by Damian Lipiński from the original analog master tapes. Edition of 500. (MTJ)

In many ways The Mob were the archetypal anarcho punk band. Formed in Yeovil, Somerset in 1979 the band soon spent their time permanently on the road in a convoy of trucks before squatting in Brougham Road, Hackney – a street of houses that accommodated many punk and counter-culture types. Until their demise in 1983 they remained an integral part and a huge influence on the anarcho, traveller and free festival scenes. Their first release was the 1980 Crying Again single on their own All The Madmen label, followed later that year by the Ching cassette. 1981 saw another single the hugely popular and haunting Witch Hunt soon followed by their now legendary Crass single No Doves Fly Here, both taking anarcho punk into new musically unchartered waters. 1983 saw the release of their now legendary album Let The Tribe Increase, an album that saw them moving away from the constraints of the punk sound as they continued to push the musical boundaries. This trend continued in their epic single The Mirror Breaks. The Mob’s invlovement with the counterculture saw them playing gigs with archetypal hippies Here & Now and Androids of Mu as well as being actively involved in the Persons Unknown and Centro Iberico anarchist centres and the Black Sheep Housing Co-operative. Eventually The Mob dissolved with Joseph Porter joining Zounds before founding Blyth Power. Let The Tribe Increase includes the full album, both tracks from the Mirror Breaks 7″ and a previously unheard demo version of Stay, all professionally remastered. Packaged in a 12-page booklet it contains a band history and the events that surrounded the recording of the album by Kill Your Pet Puppy fanzine editor Alistair Livingston. (Overground Records)

High Vis were formed in 2016 from the ashes of some of the UK’s best hardcore bands. Gild-toothed frontman Graham Sayle’s anguished lyrics about life in working class Britain were familiar to fans of Tremors’ full-throttle thrash, but alongside his former bandmate Edward ‘Ski’ Harper and veterans of Dirty Money, DiE and The Smear, High Vis sought to transform that energy and intensity into something entirely new. Like scene-mates Chubby and the Gang did by pulling in unlikely source material from classic doo-wop or Micromoon have by combining everything from psychedelia and metal into their high potency mix, High Vis’ 2019 debut album, No Sense No Feeling showed the band were never going to be constrained by any sense of genre rules or regulations. Its claustrophobic rattle bore traces of Joy Division, Bauhaus, Crisis, The Cure and Gang Of Four lurking in the shadows. 2020’s synth-driven EP, Society Exists, was further evidence of the band’s restless creative MO. High Vis’ second album Blending sees them open their viewfinder wider than ever before. Alongside longstanding favourites such as Fugazi and Echo and The Bunnymen; Ride and even Flock Of Seagulls were shared reference points as the band worked on the album together. From the anthemic sweep of opener “Talk For Hours”, through the title track’s psychedelic swirl and “Fever Dream”’s baggy groove, it sees High Vis’ sound blossoming into something with an unlimited richness. The hazy drift of “Shame” or the melodic jangle of “Trauma Bonds” may take them until uncharted waters, but they still have all the power and bite that made No Sense No Feeling so remarkable. Lyrically, the album represents another leap forward too. Talking frankly about poverty, class politics, and the challenges of everyday life, Sayle’s lyrics have always addressed the downtrodden and discarded communities across Britain slipping below the waterline. This time around, Sayle’s lost not of that social consciousness, but he’s looked at himself and his own emotional landscape, and in the process created something that feels more universal, that reaches a hand-out to people and ultimately gives a message of hope. “To me, the lyrics are less selfish,” reflects Sayle. “In the past, I couldn’t see past whatever was going on with me. It’s about accepting things and being open to conversations and learning to talk to people rather than just thinking that we’re all doomed.” The song “Talk for Hours” is a prime example of that. Born out of an afternoon meeting up with an old group of mates “repeating the same thing and not actually learning anything about each other” it offers to actually break the cycle and to listen and speak frankly about shared feelings and experiences. “Trauma Bonds”, meanwhile, traces the broken lines of those living in lost communities, but ultimately realises that despite our shared scars, there’s still hope to move on to a better future. “The message of the album is you’re not who you’re told you are,” Sayle summarises. “You’re not your class background. Whatever it is, you’re not that. Don’t resign yourself to thinking you can’t be this and you can’t be that.” It's a vitally important message right now, and one that could be the motto for not only Blending, but for High Vis themselves. A re-issue of the skull-splitting debut full length from Britain's hardcore legends. Originally released in 1982, . Originally released on the CLAY record label in 1982, this masterpiece gave inspiration to literally hundreds in the extreme metal and hardcore punk areas for the subsequent four decades and its legacy remains invaluable to this day. This album is a hurricane of wall-of-sound brutality, delivered with D.I.Y. ethics and an apocalyptic and anti-establishment bravado All time hc/punk classic. (Radiation Records)

Out of stockIt’s going off and The Chisel are back to cause a bit of bovver. Following a trio of explosive singles, the band finally bring us their debut full-length album, Retaliation, on the London-based punk institution La Vida Es Un Mus. Having formed in early 2020 and featuring a crew of members with long-term associations to the London punk scene, The Chisel quickly secured a reputation as one of the most exciting bands from a pool of contemporaries that includes Chubby & The Gang, Stingray and Big Cheese. Their sound is rooted firmly in Punk but with influences that run across the board to create a distinctive blend of Oi!, anarcho, UK-82 and hardcore. Retaliation is an unmistakably British record that draws a line from 1982 up to the present day, pushing its way into your collection and torching your stereo. Opening with the agitated force of ‘Unlawful Execution’, the tone is firmly set by a song that addresses the brutality of the Met Police (“Tell me what’s the difference between right or wrong / When a copper gets to blast a lad who did nothing wrong”). ‘Come See Me’ is a ferocious ode to camaraderie in the face of mouthy boneheads and bellends. ‘Shit Life Syndrome’ is a poisoned reference to the same cynical phrase used by physicians to describe the effects of people living under poverty and in the grips of substance abuse (“How can you expect people to act nicely, they’ve all been left on the edge of society”). It’s one of many songs influenced by singer Cal’s experiences of growing up in the working-class town of Blackpool. Cal states: “Blackpool as a town is often overlooked or even looked down upon, I wanted to write lyrics which gave the people of my town a voice”. With tunes like these The Chisel show that they’ll never pull any punches. However, beyond the fury and the swagger there’s another side that plays to an additional strength; the ability to write a memorable hook. Songs like ‘Retaliation’, ‘Tooth & Nail’ and ‘Not The Only One’ could be described as modern day anthems (the latter has become a fan favourite since the arrival of their first live shows) and cement their identity as a band not to be defined by their influences. Retaliation is 14 tracks of dance floor-stomping-working class Chisel-music. Here and now, The Year of The Chisel. (La Vida Es Un Mus Records)

Defined by constant movement and dedicated to personal freedom, Turnstiles challenged us to play according to "New Rules" in 2011; "Step To Rhythm" and "Keep It Moving" in 2013; "Nonstop Feeling" in 2015 and "Come Back For More" in 2015, the latter through their 2016 debut album "Move Thru Me". Always more incentive than invitation, more liberation than restriction, Turnstile stretch out their hand again in 2018 with "Time & Space". Recorded with producer Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, "Time & Space" marks Turnstile's Roadrunner debut and shows a band that, with a tremendous amount of heart, doesn't shy away from even the biggest language images of hardcore. Brendan Yates (vocals), Franz Lyons (bass/vocals), Brady Ebert (guitar), Pat McCrory (guitar) and Daniel Fang (drums) make hardcore punk that is young in mind and driven by youthful furor. Which aims to break down boundaries, both sonically and ideologically. Always looking outwards, "Time & Space" is the work of a band that operates without borders, is constantly growing and always moving at high speed. Stereogum: "The biggest hardcore band of the hour could be Turnstiles", Thrasher Magazine: "These guys are powerful", GQ attested: "Turnstiles are more than a hardcore band - they have a whole movement behind them". Out of stockWelcome DRAMACHINE! All the way from Athen Greece. A punk project involving analogue synths, a guitar, a bass, pedals, vocals, a drum-machine, nagging, gossip and drama- telling brought to you by 3 mortals trying to survive in a world of snake-eating bats, ex boyfriends, extreme weather conditions, self-improvement freaks and low wages. A fresh combination of synth-punk and post -punk / experimental music. Taking the drum machine beat arrangements and synth-heavy patterns of wave/ post-punk, but using those as the base coat in a sound that's much more informed by experimental and avant-garde music. This record is so much more than a genre exercise or a deft melding of influences. It’s an unadjusted highly experimental and totally addictive synth wave album with hints of minimal post punk. The music ranges from dirgelike chants to ethereal pop to haunting ballads. It’s pure melancholic beauty from start to finish. Even a retro, toxic synth pop that balances on a thin line between punk rock and cold-wave electronics. DRAMACHINE offer us a challenging sound, combining both electronics and instrumentation for a truly stunning musical hybrid. Just when you think you have this band figured out you get blasted with a coldwave influence! Edgy and recklessly punky with a dash of synthpop dropped in for good measure. It’s a wild ride, but somehow it hangs together and sounds like music rather than just aimless noise-making. If you crave music that both surprises and charms, I can’t recommend DRAMACHINE highly enough. So, if you want to enjoy this, don't concentrate on the any reference points, concentrate on how they push against and defy any expectations, and you'll see what a genuinely, thrillingly exciting band DRAMACHINE is. Out of stockWith My War, the true Henry Rollins era of Black Flag begins. He was brought in to sing Greg Ginn’s songs for Damaged and with My War became a fully integrated member of the band, nudging the band towards slower tempos that emphasized their atonal freakouts. This slide towards MC5, free-jazz bust-outs put them at odds with punk rock’s insistence on short, fast rules. But it made the group a distinctive entity at a time when most hardcore punk bands were passing in a blur. Only the title track ever gained true notoriety, but tracks such as “Can’t Decide,” “Three Nights” and the eternal trudge of “Scream” make the case for Greg Ginn as one of the era’s most important guitar players. His solos are off the wall, while his riffage brings back the ghosts of early Black Sabbath at a time when Sabbath was fading from view. Rollins’ throaty, guttural vocal stabs recast the band as a formidable live outfit whose concerts were true endurance tests for all involved. (EU-SST Records/Unofficial Release)

"Crunchy grind is what comes to mind after listening to this 30 minute monster. I’ll be honest straight up. I’m a fan of selective grind and it so happens I love exactly this kind of grind, so imagine my drooling when I first heard this. Internal Rot embody the purest traits that quality grind contains – violence and freedom. ‘Mental Hygiene’ will grab you by the collar and throw you straight into a pit of wild boars. You will be shredded into pieces in the frenzy that ‘Mental Hygiene’ creates. Musically, it is infused with punk thrash elements and the guitar tone it carries is jagged edged similar to what Insect Warfare, Wormrot, Infanticide and Death Toll 80k employ; and that is saying “it slays”. So fans who have heard these bands before should know what to expect and be ready to lap it up. Right from the first track ‘Muciferous’, the album is a gateway to unbridled anger and consequently, freedom. The 30 odd minutes get over in a blink of an eye. After absolutely four murderous tracks, the band also manages to get some groove in via the aptly named ‘Sex Everywhere’! It obviously doesn’t make sense to distinguish between songs in a top grindcore album like this, but ‘Internal Rot’ insert some slight shifts in tempo; alternating between blazingly fast and slightly slower mosh ready parts. Albeit for a few seconds, this keeps the attention of the listener and gives some breathing room like midway through ‘Nose in Neck’ and ‘Hodgkinson St.’, in order to get ready for the next round of barrage that inevitably follows. The last and the longest track happens to be titled ‘Riddled with Rage’ and it pretty much sums up the sentiment of the whole album. There is a certain appeal for grind albums like these, whose expressiveness and production attracts fans from other extreme genres." -dipym666 500 copies on smoky grey vinyl. Out of stockM’lady’s Records is extremely excited to announce the reissue of DEAD MOON’s debut album classic, “In the Graveyard”. Highly sought by rock ‘n’ roll maniacs around the globe for its breathtaking songwriting and attitude, it’s also the first release in M’lady’s 2014 reissue series documenting many different timeless albums issued by Fred & Toody Cole (also of the Rats and Pierced Arrows). This record will NOT let you go once it’s made its way into your mind: every song is a classic, almost intimidating in its poise and strength. For the uninitiated, DEAD MOON come on almost like a hybrid of the most exciting elements of Love, AC/DC, the Weeds, and the Elevators. No joke. The group are also famous for operating extremely DIY, down to the recording and mastering of their albums (famously cut on the very same lathe that cut “Louie Louie” by the Kingsmen!). “In the Graveyard” was reissued on LP by our comrades at the estimable Mississippi Records in 2011, and we’ve teamed up with them to get this compact disc edition out to you, the bedroom rebel, the night time revolutionary, the romantic with a wake of destruction in your path. Also highly recommended for everyone with a beating heart and two ears. (Mississippi Records)

Sarabante is a hardcore/crust band from Athens, Greece. “Remnants” is the bands debut release. The band was brought to the attention of Southern Lord by Brad Boatright of From Ashes Rise. One of the primary focal points of the group is their consistent execution of infectious melodies. This cd is limited to 1,000 machine numbered copies. This album predates that LP, the recordings on this album have an amazing primitive raw in your face energy and feel. A true artifact of blistering punk from the early NYCHC scene. Out of stockΑθήνα. Out of stock"Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes" builds on singer Mike Ness' twin footings, one in the haunted American landscapes of Hank Williams and the other in the raw swagger of "Exile"-era Rolling Stones. While these twin pillars have always been behind Social Distortion's anthemic songs, on "Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes" they come roaring to the fore, in one of the hardest rocking, most soulful albums of Ness' career. For fans of The Gaslight Anthem, Rancid, Bad Religion, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Tiger Army. Vinyl version includes two additional tracks. (Epitaph Records)
