The should have become as big as bands like JOY DIVISION, THE SOUND or THE CURE that come from the same scene, unfortunately the group first disband in 1993. - "In The Breeze" is a compilation originally released right after the breakup, a collection of previously unreleased recordings spanning their first lifetime. It features demos, alternate versions, recording outtakes, John Peel session... To many they are the best kept secret of the early British pos-punk! Taken from the liner notes on the back of the jacket... Sad Lovers And Giants fell apart at the end of 1983. This record is a collection of previously unreleased recordings spanning their lifetime. 50:50 and The Change (Tracks A1 and A2): Demos recorded at Pet Sounds in early 1981. Electronically 'tweaked' 1984. "50:50" was soon dropped from the set but "The Change" survived as an occasional encore. Interlude (Track A3): Recorded live at The Venue, September 1982. Landslide and Echoplay (Tracks A4 and A5): Out-takes from the "Colourless Dream" sessions at Surrey Sound, Summer 1981. "Landslide" had already been released on the group's first single/EP, "Clé", and "Echoplay" was re-recorded for "Epic Garden Music". These versions were remixed at Alaska, summer 1984. Sex Without Gravity, There Was No Time, Clint and Alice (Isn't Playing) (Tracks A6 to B3): Radio One John Peel Session, late 1981. "Sex Without Gravity" was never performed anywhere else and "There Was No Time" was soon replaced by new material. "Clint" and "Alice (Isn't Playing)" were subsequently recorded for "Epic Garden Music", although another version of "Clint" had already appeared on the "The Thing From The Crypt" compilation. The producer for Radio One was Roger Pursey and these tracks are released by arrangement with BBC Enterprises Limited. 3 Lines (Track B4): Recorded live at the Brunel Rooms, Swindon, March, 1983. Electronically 'tweaked' 1984. "3 Lines" later metamorphosed into "Dividing Lines", an unfinished out-take of "Feeding The Flame". Imagination (Track B5): Out-take from "Feeding The Flame". Recorded at Spaceward, summer 1983. "Imagination" originally appeared as the A-side of "Clé", but the group wished to record a better version. (Restless Empire Records)

Born out of the ashes of the Misfits, Samhain instantly became a tremendous live act. This LP features a crushing performance from the Jockey Club in Newport, Kentucky recorded on September 16, 1984. Samhain rips through new songs: “Initium”, “All Murder, All Guts, All Fun”, “Macabre”, “Black Dream”, “The Shift”, “Moribund”, & “He Who Cannot Be Named” as well as reworked versions of these Misfits classics: “All Hell”, “Horror Biz”, “Who Killed Marilyn”, “Halloween II”, & “Die Die My Darling”. For more than 40 years, the band has had an inescapable influence on popular culture and Scream With Me is the ultimate tribute to the original, beloved Misfits era. The scum of toytown is back! 20 years after their fantastic debut album "Strike", the band from Stevenage (UK) is back together and recorded a brand new full lenght LP in 2014. On here they feature a set of previously unrecorded older material alongside with new songs that sound just as they picked it up again where they left off in 1995. A festival of tuneful but subversive punk-MUSIC (yes, in capitals) merging the drive and rage of anarcho punk with reggae parts and hints of pop and dub groves. Transporting a personal yet punk political message across the listener. Sometimes full on powerful riffage, sometimes furious, sometimes melancolic and melodic, all at the same time, wrapped up in a top notch DIY production. SCUM OF TOYTOWN were a obscure phenomena of the 1990ies, rootet in the North London punk scene of the late 1970ies and 1980ies. They crawled out of the void and managed in their short existence to make a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to catch them either live or on record before they sunk into oblivion for unknown reason. They appeared on festivals and squats in central Europe and making everyone (seriously) move and dance along to their unique style of innovative sounding punkrock. Music that makes you toss a brick with a smile on your face. They left us with their only legacy a 7“ and a genius LP.... ... we're more than happy to have them back with their new album. They haven't lost it, not a single bit! • Includes DOWNLOAD Codes. • Available 1st edition on black vinyl (Ruin Nation Records) https://ruinnationrecords.bandcamp.com/album/cells
  • (Shipping: October) “Blood of the Beasts” is ten reflections on the myth of progress, the new old tribalism, the single face of all subjugations, the broken promise of automation, love, loss & obsolescence set against the dying light of a better tomorrow. Vegan straight edge outfit SECT unites vocalist Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, The Damned Things). The result is a caustic, riotous, belligerent style of vile hardcore fed by a boundless well of socio-political vitriol. • "Shai Hulud have spent many years away and endured line-up changes frequent enough to give Napalm Death or Zao’s revolving door policy a run for their money. That said, if they’re going to push forward, they better come with something spectacular, and they do. Dispensing with most of the spoken-word meanderings and downplaying the melodicism of the prior release, Misanthropy Pure is faster and more frantic than any of their earlier records yet remains coherent and well proportioned. New vocalist Matt Mazzali roars his way through 11 massively dense and aggressive tracks, rarely slowing for a breather. He’s no Chad Gilbert but he brings a much-needed shot of adrenaline to the vocal department. Primary songwriter Matt Fox has outdone himself, cramming what seems like thousands of licks into mere seconds of running time but never shying away from the requisite amount of repetition necessary to make an album this intricate come together. Eric Rachel’s production comes across as a tad too polished but otherwise Misanthropy Pure is a brain-rupturing return to form from a resilient and influential act. This is melodic metalcore at its finest. " By Max Deneau www.exclaim.ca Issued in a gatefold cover with lyrics and credits printed on dust sleeve. • SHEER MAG returns with their sophomore album, "a distant call". They're still writing about surviving our current hellscape, but this time around the politics get extra personal. • Singapore's SIAL return with another wave of destruction and their 3rd release on LVEUM. They've truly found the perfect balance of melody, noise and aggression while still putting great emphasis on the political aspect of hardcore punk that's always spitting hate towards the power that corrupts. The music and song writing can be somewhat ambiguous to some listeners who have devoted their life to the classic raw hardcore punk format, but this record shouldn't be left out- it carries the same cathartic punk experience. References point being THE COMES, LEBENDEN TOTEN or Perdition era DISORDER. SIAL has always been using strong malay metaphors and proverbs in their lyrics, and more in this release to stress how important the Malay language is to them in expressing a structure that is broken in this modern capitalistic world. 'Tari Pemusnah Kuasa', which translates to 'The Revolt Dance' or ' Dance of The Power Crusher', delivers a sense of mysticism and empowerment. This uncompromising attitude is what we need in these trying times. Tari Pemusnah Kuasa was recorded by the band and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studio. The record sleeve was designed by drummer Izzad Radzali Shah and comes with a printed inner sleeve by guitarist Hafiz. • Paint It Black: 1985 Debut Is Penultimate Goth-Rock Album The template for all goth-rock records that followed, Sisters of Mercy's First and Last and Always stands as one of the – if not the most – influential albums of its kind ever released. Distinguished by Andrew Eldritch's ghostly singing, which gives the impression of hearing a forlorn ghoul croon from a foggy English graveyard, the 1985 set is drenched in gloom, claustrophobia, black humor, and dance-ready beats that provide exhilarating contrasts. Fans of the Cure, Depeche Mode, Love and Rockets, Peter Murphy, mid-period Nick Cave, and Joy Division will find it to be a new favorite record. Mastered on our world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI (the best record plant in North America), Silver Label numbered edition LP presents First and Last and Always with a fuller, richer sound that positively obliterates the thin, feeble sonic perspectives that have limited the music until now. Every aspect from Eldritch's haunting singing to the group's jangling guitars and prancing bass lines finally gain genuine definition. Yet what's most improved is the sense of atmosphere: Sisters of Mercy revel in painting tone poems, where the feel and effect are as essential as the notes that are played. This is now an atmospheric tour de force. Ever since it's release, First and Last and Always has been aptly shrouded in mythology. Eldritch pushed the envelope during the recording sessions, literally walking into walls and repeatedly unable to maintain his focus. Strung out on amphetamines, dazed by days of no sleep, upset by a recent breakup, and eating little, the vocalist channeled his discord into somber lyrics and brooding singing. He's framed by pulsing albeit lean, spare rhythms, patient tempos, and the clatter of a programmed drum machine that, in spite of its mechanical operation, sounds strangely organic. The songs evoke wet dungeons, walls-closing-in paranoia, and late-night strolls amidst the U.K.'s mysterious underground. Despite its overall dark character, the record's arrangements value spaciousness, putting a premium on room and minimalism that makes each note count. As a result, twinkling pianos and keyboards parallel steel-cutting guitars and low-tuned bass lines that, in combination with Eldrtich's baritone, suggest glimmers of hope among the decay. Songs such as the shaking "Possession," dramatic "Some Kind of Stranger," and desperate "Marian" remain models of the gothic and post-punk disciplines more than 25 years after their debut. It's no surprise that, given all of the tension and personality that infuse the album, Sisters of Mercy disbanded just months after its release. It's unlikely that any goth-rock album has ever sounded this good. This Silver Label LP will turn your room into rainy, dreary England, circa 1985, and expose you to one of the most harrowing vocal performances on record. "The lead track, 'Black Planet,' showcases the new remastering to full effect. The song features an all-encompassing bass rhythm that, with every strike, infects the tune like mustard gas unleashed in a trench. On a poor master, the bass would threaten to suffocate the rest of the arrangement. But Mobile Fidelity keeps it in check with a distinct, sparkling, upper-mid sensitive guitar; the bass merrily sits on the edge of the soundstage." – Paul Rigby, TONE Audio Gatefold sleeve. • Killer compilation of rare tracks from one of the UK’s most legendary punk acts, Slaughter & The Dogs! Includes the original version of the punk rock classic “Situations” plus superb live versions of “Where Have All The Bootboys Gone?,” “Cranked Up Really High” and more! Slaughter And The Dogs first came to the blank generation nation's attention when they blagged the hard-fought support slot to the Sex Pistols' legendary Manchester debut in July 1976. While uniformly squeezed into the haphazard haberdashery of the Kings Road, Slaughter's hearts belonged in another era. They were named by combining album titles from Mick Ronson and David Bowie, covered Velvet Underground and New York Dolls material and grew their hair back as soon as it seemed reasonably safe to do so. Consequently, their glam-angled three chord plummets always seemed slightly contrived, yet the cartoon yob ludicrousness of Do It Dog Style is nothing short of irresistible. The Cult's Billy Duffy started his career in a later Slaughter line-up, and even Morrissey auditioned for their perpetually up-for-grabs vocalist role, but ultimately all you really need to know about Slaughter is that their drummer was called Mad Muffet. Limited edition blue vinyl. (Cleopatra Records) https://slaughterandthedogsuk.bandcamp.com/album/the-slaughterhouse-tapes

  • This is a cult for the early death/thrash metal movement and a great album. In Canada there was another band that was doing more or less the same Slaughter music in the same period, and that band was Sacrifice. They were the precursors in that beautiful country of a genre that was developing worldwide with great bands such as Death, Possessed, Kreator, Sodom, Bathory, Sepultura, Sarcofago and many others. Their goal was to bring the classic violent thrash metal to another level in brutality and heaviness. The experiment was achieved here, without forgetting the main genre it comes from. More or less 30 minutes to show all their abilities in destroying everything with panzer drums and fast guitars. Their distortion was already innovative and pure death metal with a fuzz, heavy as hell, sound. The vocals were half way between Celtic Frost down tone and the classic thrash metal ones. Issued with a 425gsm heavy cardboard cover, lyric insert and poster. Piss Yellow Vinyl. Recorded on February 9th, 1986 at Futuresound, Toronto. (High Roller Records)
