Before Green Day, Operation Ivy, and Lookout Records put the East Bay’s burgeoning punk scene on the map, a trio of Berkeley kids were reinventing the genre with music that was melodic but full of feedback, and a singer who sounded like he gargled glass. Crimpshrine's debut EP was Lookout’s fourth release, followed by an album, a second EP, and a slew of split singles and compilation tracks before the band imploded in 1989 after a ridiculous two-and-a-half-month tour in a Ford Pinto hatchback. Formed around teenage binary stars Jeff Ott and Aaron Cometbus, Crimpshrine went through a series of lineups in their four-year run, utilizing future Tilt and Go Sailor bassists Pete Rypins and Paul Curran, and briefly including second guitarist Idon Bryant. Not overtly political, their fiery brand of introspective punk touched on homelessness, teenage pregnancy, drug use, friendship, isolation, and a grimy sort of romance. Duct Tape Soup is their Lookout-rejected 1988 debut LP that was parsed out to various compilations and split 7”s before being recompiled for Larry Livermore’s punk institution in 1992. After Lookout’s unfortunate demise at the turn of the century, the album went out of print. In cooperation with the band, we’ve remastered the recordings and freshened up the accompanying booklet to make the perfect legacy edition of this ’80s punk classic. Out of stockCRUSHING NOISECORE MASSACRE… 444 SONGS!! Just in time for the deadline of its 30th anniversary, here’s the official reissue of CB’s debut demo ’91 (the previous one, recorded in 1989, was only handed to friends and never distributed with a real cover), originally released on the 3-Way split tape with K.S.G. and Dissonance. This special extended version includes a lot of rare extras, most of which have never been published up to now, not even on the massive “Age of vandalism” 4xCD boxset. This is what you’ll find inside: – Complete, uncut Demo ’91 session with lots of unreleased tracks (220!) – Original Demo session (64 tracks) – Unreleased split 7″ with K.S.G. (145 tracks) – Extra unreleased session (15 tracks) Re-edited and mastered from the band’s tapes. Booklet with photos from that time, scans of the original demo and related flyers, lyrics and extensive liner notes/trivia by Giulio The Bastard. Italy’s most extreme and annihilating Noise/Grind in over 4 decades – this LP captures their most anti-music and annihilating phase when they moved from the early teenage sloppy thrash-punk delirium to a devastating wall of tout court Noisecore inspired by 7 M.O.N., Sore Throat, AxCx, Buka and similar audio terrorists. Out of stockAn infamous collection of very early C.B. recordings (with the two piece line-up consisting of Alberto The Crippler on guitar/vocals and Giulio The Bastard on drums/vocals)..: 336 SONGS – ASTI NOISE-GRIND PUNK at its roughest stage. Official reissue of CB’s most circulated tape, originally released in 1992, finally consecrated on vinyl… an unbelievable bloodbath of lo-fi rawness going from the embryonic thrashing punk/grind days to the radical nihilism of the band’s noisecore phase. This tape was the roots of Italian grindcore and the link between the end of an era (the unforgettable furious years of Italy’s hardcore punk pioneers) and the beginning of a new one more based on noise and manic speed. Ripped from pristine 1st generation sources and painstakingly remastered song by song at Toxic Basement Studio in 2022 to celebrate the 30th year anniversary since its first edition, this is hands down the best sounding version to date. Includes A2 insert/poster with scans of the original tape, photos, liner notes and a massive reproduction of the 1992 flyer. (F.O.A.D. Records)

Italian grindcore legends CRIPPLE BASTARDS celebrate 30 years of misanthropic extremity with their seventh full-length album La Fine Cresce da Dentro (Meaning “The End Is Growing From Within”). Recorded at the legendary Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates, Dark Tranquility), La Fine Cresce da Dentro is eighteen tracks of inconceivable speed and brutality surpassing even their previous work. Over three decades in, CRIPPLE BASTARDS are showing no signs of slowing down and continue to destroy unsuspecting eardrums with hate-filled, grind punk chaos! Out of stockFor the first time ever, the three Crisis singles are officially re-released on Vinyl along with demos from 77 and 78 and a simply stunning sounding live set from Norway in 1979. The debut 7" from 1978 on Action Group Records, 'No Town Hall' features three stonewall punk classics. The next two singles 'UK79' and 'Alienation' make up the four tracks recorded for a John Peel Session in 1978. The lyrics are a product of the time against a backdrop of street fights with the National Front, violence at gigs, institutional racism within the police force, class division, industrial strife, sexual repression… Upon reflection not much has really changed in the last 35 years! Also included are demo tracks from 1977 and 1978 which are raw and basic punk just as you would expect. They have never been officially released on vinyl before. Sides Three and Four features a live set recorded when Crisis played Norway in 1979 which features all of the material that later turned up on ‘Hymns Of Faith’. The sound quality of the recording is so good it would pass as a studio recording. The record comes housed in a tip on heavyweight sleeve with detailed liner notes, reviews, interviews, and a few unseen group photos. The sleeve picture taken in Kiev in 2012 couldn't be more relevant, capturing the Zeitgeist - which was part of what Punk was all about in the first place. Label: La Vida Es Un Mus Records

Out of stockCro-Mags’ first full-length, “The Age of Quarrel”, released in 1986, is one of the first albums where the unadulterated energy of hardcore punk is filtered through the aggression and the fury of thrash metal. Cro-Mags is one of the fundamental names for the birth of the so-called “crossover thrash” subgenre, which synthesized thrash metal and hardcore punk. Label: Astor Place Barcode: 819376028842

Decomposition, the second full-length by US / UK / German collective Cross Stitched Eyes, follows in the tradition of anarchist punk and death rock (Rudimentary Peni, Cortex, The Mob, and Killing Joke). Embracing the many irrational and visceral shades of this style’s darkest corners, the album decidedly rejects traditional copy-and-paste guidelines of musical conformity with a puncturing attitude. Released on Alternative Tencles for the USA. Skuld Records did the Euro version. Label: Ruin Nation Records

This new Canadian band (with members of BOOTLICKER, NO HEART, LAST CRUSADE and SPLIT ARROWS among others) released a debut demotape last year that immediately catched my attention, i got a bunch of copies for distribution and instantly became one of my favourite demos from 2022. And they also featured 2 tracks on the British Columbia Bovver compilation also released last year. I got hooked up by their fresh hardcorepunk somehow taking influences from both shores of the north Atlantic Ocean, like if GANG GREEN and CIRCLE JERKS would be jamming with THE PARTISANS and THE SKEPTIX on a drunken party. Or something like that. So now it was time for their vinyl debut on their own and here you have 10 tracks of sharp, catchy, fast and piercing Punk Hardcore on a 45rpm 12inch with the title “Perverted Law” which will be released by the end of the summer. The 1988 debut album from the clown princes of straight-edge, CRUCIAL YOUTH, whose satirization of clean cut punk scenesters earned the band a loyal following. Before GOOD CLEAN FUN even tried to tackle the straight-edge hardcore humor scene with open arms, this late '80s New Jersey band had the whole hardcore scene holding their bellies from laughing so hard. Originally released in 1989, this is a lovingly restored reissue. If you're a fan of YOUTH OF TODAY or early Revelation stuff in general, this is right in your league. Colored (white) vinyl includes a 20 page comic book. (New Red Archieves)

Out of stockDehumanization is the only full length album from the band Crucifix. Recorded in 1983, it is considered a classic American hardcore album and a landmark of anarcho-punk. Dehumanization delivers a raging critique of war, violence, displacement, and the decimation of human rights and human dignity—themes at once global in scope and also completely endemic to Reagan-era America. The intensity of this message is matched only by the intensity of the sound: a heavy minimalist construction built on brutal guitar riffs, low-end distortion, hardcore fury and teenage speed. It is an album of pure raw power, a hot blast of personal and political outrage and musical adrenaline. Fusing California hardcore with metal and second wave British anarcho-punk, Crucifix carved out their own highly distinctive wall of sound on this release. Ignoring the rules of punk purism in favor of a well produced huge guitar sound, the album preceded much of the hardcore metal crossover of the mid-80s and played an influential but often unacknowledged role in the punk and metal subgenres that followed. “Annihilation,” the album’s opening track, has become iconic. Quoted often, it’s been sampled by Orbital and covered by A Perfect Circle and Sepultura. The original vinyl version of Dehumanization was released on the Crass Records offshoot label Corpus Christi in the UK, and has been out of print since the 1980s. This new Kustomized rerelease has been carefully remastered from an original vinyl source and adheres closely to the audio quality of the original. In addition, the six-panel foldout poster sleeve has been reproduced in its entirety. Taken together, the words, music and graphics of Dehumanization form a complete work and a resonant and enduring document of the period. (Kustomized Records)

Out of stockReissue of 1981’s classic first recording by legendary San Francisco band Crucifix. This EP’s raw Sabbath-fueled punk, Shaggs-like musicianship and honest teenage angst provoked one reviewer at the time to write, “it makes you feel like going out and bludgeoning an old lady to death.” Recorded at Tom Mallon Studios in San Francisco in 1981, and originally released on Universal Records, this long out-of-print five track EP contains the band’s defining anthem of the period, “You’re Too Old.” (Kustomized Records)
