  • (Shipping: October) In the early 1980s, Y.D.I. (pronounced: Why-die) put Philadelphia on the map with their ferocious brand of Hardcore. In 1983 they unleashed their debut 7” EP “A Place In The Sun” a blistering nine-track blast of american-hardcore fury. Circa-1985 the band changed musical directions and created filthy, metallic, damaged punk. The “Black Dust” (a concoction of PCP, heroin and formaldehyde) 12”- LP was YDIs’ final recording and a criminally underrated slab of disgusting mayhem. This double vinyl document contains every known recording of the band. Also inside is a 10”x10” full color photo book with tons of never before seen images from the era. (Southern Lord Records)

xXx Fanzine (1983-1988) Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties isn’t a mere collection of articles, reviews and photographs from one of Hardcore America’s best-known fanzines - it’s a chronicle of punk’s evolution in the 80’s; a story of music and ideologies in motion. xXx’s story picks up while the first wave of hardcore was in full swing. Major players including Minor Threat had already released landmark records and bands were loading up station wagons to play now infamous venues like The Channel, A7 or D.C. Space. While based in Boston, xXx’s main writer and editor, Mike Gitter, not only concentrated on his own city’s burgeoning scene, spear-headed by bands like SS Decontrol and D.Y.S., but looked to other states and countries for xXx’s reportage. This hardcover, 11"x11", 288-page book documents a time when hardcore and punk were not mutually exclusive and bands and cities had a chance to develop their own diverse and strident sounds. This creative ethos and aural zeitgeist is literally spelt out on the 19-song compilation that’s included with xXx Fanzine, with either download card or limited edition 12inch; a wide variety of current hardcore, punk and hard music luminaries including Strife, letlive., Fu Manchu and The Riverboat Gamblers contributed their interpretations to some of the most influential songs to come from xXx’s original era. Now, in addition to reproducing (and restoring) countless interviews and pages from the ‘zine itself, xXx Fanzine re-interviews countless bands and musical prime-movers including Ian MacKaye, Keith Morris and members of Agnostic Front, Bad Brains and Cro-Mags to give the book a rare ‘then and now’ perspective. xXx Fanzine (1983-1988), Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties isn’t merely a look back at hardcore’s salad days, but a unique look at how punk’s music and message shook the mainstream itself. xXx Fanzine (1983-1988) Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties features: Minor Threat, Misfits, Necros, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Husker Du, Jerry’s Kids, Black Flag, D.O.A., G.B.H, Void, Negative Approach, 7 Seconds, D.Y.S., Scream, Metallica, Corrosion of Conformity, Minutemen, The Exploited, Anthrax, Subhumans, Dead Kennedys, SSD, Henry Rollins, Descendents, Bad Brains, Youth of Today, Motorhead, Dag Nasty, Snapshot, Samhain, Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Bad Religion, Fugazi, and more… (Bridge 9 Press)
  • This is a band that has never been remembered with the affection it deserves; often more only as the first band of INSTIGATORS vocalist, Andy 'Tez' Turner. This collects the band’s five singles released between 1981 and 1985, "Systems Kill E.P." (1981), "1,000 Marching Feet" (1982), "(Be My) New York Doll" (1983), "Burntout Youth" (1984) and "Forcefed The Truth Drug EP" (1985). Highlight has to be the ‘Forcefed The Truth Drug’ EP that highlights the band’s ‘82 Punk sound in ‘Manipulator’ while ‘Libido A Go Go’ shows the more adventurous sounds Tez would explore in the ‘GATORS. To my ears, this still holds up really well 30 years on since it was recorded and a damn sight better than some of the more lauded bands of the same era. Another fantastic reissue from Vomitopunkrock. (Vomitopunkrock Records) https://vomitopunkrock.bandcamp.com/album/xpozez-singles-kill-lp
  • For the past thirteen years, XIBALBA has been dedicated to carving a sound which combines unadulterated aggression booming out of the vocals, an ultra-heavy low-end frequency, colossal death metal riffs, brutal hardcore breakdowns, and a trademark groove now synonymous with the group. Años En Infierno takes these conventions and finds a new way of expression that the band defines as, "more harsh, brutal, and creative in a metaphorical sense." Some aspects of this album remain consistent, such as the album?s cover artwork once again being handled by longtime collaborator Dan Seagrave (DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION). However, the production of this album was handled by Arthur Rizk (CRO-MAGS POWER TRIP, INQUISITION) whose handiwork pushes XIBALBA's sound to epic proportions. • Xenofobia is by far the most iconic of the Mexican hardcore bands that emerged during the late 1980s, their base in the nation’s capital city placing them in a hotbed of the local scene (though there were also acts in places with greater proximity to the US border, such as Tijuana and the Yucatan peninsula). Their impossibly rare debut 7-inch EP “Muerte En Amercia” was released in minute quantities by the group in 1987 on a self-released  seven-inch with a graphic picture sleeve, featured bassist/songwriter Hnos David Varela and his brother Jorge (AKA “El Igor”) on drums, with guitarist Raul “El Perro” and lead singer Miguel El Charro, the production shared between Hnos Varela and Eleazar Betancourt  (who would later work with Mexican rock band Liran’ Roll, AKA The Blues Boys).  Chaotic political hardcore at its rawest peak, reissued for the first time since 1987 in a mere 500 copies from the unstoppable archival punk machine at Radiation reissues. Solid black vinyl limited to 200 copies. After being 3 years in the works, here’s finally the official reissue of the only Demo by this demonic Black/Thrash horde from Singapore, originally released on tape in 1994 and revered by maniacs as a hidden gem of absolute cult… Ripped straight from the band’s master reels and pressed on 180 gram vinyl to ensure the fiercest sonic impact! Fanzine styled 16 page booklet with lots of never seen before pictures, flyers and exclusive interview. Raw, sinister Black Metal that combines the old school Singaporean sound with influences that recall the ’80s South American Death/Thrash hell! For fans (and with members!) of early IMPIETY and ABHORER. Front cover art by Chris Moyen (originally supposed to be a t-shirt that never came out). (F.O.A.D. Records)
  • Solid black vinyl (180 GRAMS) limited to 200 copies. A killing collection of rare X-Creta recordings (demos, rehearsals and live) prior to their smashing debut full length “Patronizing the Heterodox”. Formed in 1983, these Belgian Thrashcore gunners were responsible for some of the fiercest, stripped down, and energetic type of Crossover/Thrash, not far removed from the early releases by Voivod, but faster. At the top of their riff driven assault, some of the sickest vitriolic vocals around at the time, think of the sickest clash between Kreator’s Mille Petrozza and Sid Migx of CCM. This FOAD anthology traces the early steps of the band starting from the primordial, pure Hardcore approach on their demo 1984 “13 recepten voor en hersenbloeding” and song from “Alle 55 kort” – both sounding quite close to their legendary country fellows Zyklome-A – and moving to the solid Speed/Thrashcore assault that followed with their demo 1985, “We will thrash you!!”. All the stuff included has been sourced from extremely rare tapes provided by our inner circle of friends-collectors and scrupulously remastered to keep the original rawness and intensity. Bonus CD with live rehearsals, insert with photos, flyers and original tapes’ art. Contents: – “13 recepten voor en hersenbloeding” Demo 1984 – Song from “Alle 55 kort” compilation Tape 1984 – “We will Thrash you!!” Demo 1985 – Live and rehearsals 1985-1986 (F.O.A.D. Records)

  • "One Time For Unity" is the new five-song EP from World Be Free, the Los Angeles, CA-based band formed in 2014 and comprised of vocalist Scott Vogel (Terror, Buried Alive), guitarist Joe Garlipp (Envy), guitarist Andrew Kline (Strife, Berthold City), drummer Sammy Siegler (Judge, CIV, Rival Schools), and bassist Alex Barreto (Chain Of Strength, Excel). Since releasing their debut full-length album, "The Anti-Circle," in 2016, World Be Free played a handful of shows, but were sidelined by everyone's schedules, including frontman Vogel's neck surgery. During this forced hiatus, World Be Free continued to write new material and when the moment presented itself, they focused on the five tracks which eventually became "One Time For Unity." 12"ep includes digital download and a laser-etched B-side. • Spittle Records present a reissue of The Work's Slow Crimes, originally released in 1982. From the heart of the late '70s/early '80s British underground scene, an extraordinary album at the very edge between art-rock and punk. The Work were a full electric band featuring Tim Hodgkinson, his very first project after the seminal experience of Henry Cow, and three younger maverick figures from the London underground scene. Guitarist Bill Gilonis (The Lowest Note, News from Babel, The Hat Shoes), bassist Mick Hobbs (Officer!, Half Japanese), and drummer Rick Wilson (Family Fodder). The Work embodies the crucial step between two unrepeatable decades in music. An unprecedented mixture of rock complexity and punk attitude. Unapologetically raw and direct, Slow Crimes, The Work's first album originally released in 1982, stands as one of the most essential and uncompromising pieces of vinyl in the field of experimental rock. This edition comes in printed inner sleeve with unpublished pictures and various memorabilia; Includes CD containing the album along with four extra tracks, three of which are from The Work's first and only 7", including the anthemic "I Hate America". (Spittle Records)
  • On the wind-bitten plains of Skaraborg, Sweden, the wolves have arisen once again. They are on the prowl, yearning for your blood, warm and fresh. On their tenth full-length album Wolfbrigade go deep and they are ruthless. This time they have only submitted to themselves; from recording to production and art work. Working in isolation resulted in sharpened ears and teeth. The ten songs rip into both body and mind, with no holds barred regarding power, substance and melody. This time around, Wolfbrigade’s hybrid beast of Swedish hardcore and death metal known as Lycanthro Punk has become even more distinct. These ten tracks of destruction display both a love for 80’s metal hooks and intros, as well as primitive hardcore brutality. The lyrics dissect the state of human existence, the bizarre animal presence that we are. The naked apes. Exploring the dynamics that rule man. Power and submission. Manipulation. The injustices of inequality. This is an album seething with anger and frustration. _ Humans are a narcissistic breed, incapable of real change. This album is a way for us to deal with the fact that we are one of a large pack, submitting to the same societal norms as everyone else. No matter how much we would like it to be different. We are all on the same crazy trip. (Southern Lord Records)
