Out of stockOut of Step is the sole studio album by American hardcore punk band Minor Threat. It was released on 45 RPM vinyl in April 1983 through Dischord Records. Along with the fellow Washington D.C. hardcore band BAD BRAINS, MINOR THREAT set the standard for many hardcore-punk bands in the '80s. Where the lyrics on their early 7"s were an outlet for Ian's message, the lyrics on "out of step" deal mainly with friendships. MINOR THREAT is without a doubt one of the most influential hardcore bands ever. Every song is inventive, original, and can stand on its own as a punk classic. This vinyl (on 45rpm) was remastered and re-cut, features an album sleeve re-design from the original artwork and comes with a digital download card. White Vinyl. Despite carrying on the celebratory tone of The Ramones' debut and Leave Home in the likes of Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, Cretin Hop a tribute to dirty Rockaway Beach and covers of The Trashmen and Do You Wanna Dance? Their third LP from 1977 displays a dark humour that's less jokey than the previous releases' goofs on bad mental health and dysfunctional relationships. the group's best-produced of its first three releases, rocket achieves an almost smooth texture thanks to a clean mix and increased use of Beach Boys-inspired vocal harmonies. The Ramones ignited the punk-rock movement with their eponymous 1976 debut album, revitalizing rock and roll at one of its lowest ebbs with attitude, energy and a loud, fast new sound. By cutting music down to its bare essentials – four chords; a simple, catchy melody; a sped up tempo and irresistibly inane lyrics, the Ramones blazed the trail for thousands of bands that followed, influencing everyone from The Clash and The Sex Pistols to Green Day and The Offspring. Although The Ramones never achieved mainstream financial success, they released 21 live and studio albums, had a devoted fan base and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. • 180g Vinyl LP • Superior 2017 remastered audio Label: Rhino Records Barcode: 081227932701

It came out of nowhere in 1982, this punk rock/hardcore fireball with the bright yellow sleeve. In one sense, The Zero Boys' Vicious Circle was yet another example of how U.S. punk seemed to peak coast to coast that year. But unlike most coastal punk, the Zero Boys were pointing the way to a scene that could accommodate heaping helpings of melody, intelligence, and rock 'n' roll, not just turbo-charged ferocity. Vinyl version contains a coupon that for a limited time allows you to download MP3 audio files of the recordings. "From 1979 into ‘83, the Indianapolis based ZBs were the finest hardcore blitz in the Midwest if not all the lower 48 states. Proof is Vicious Circle and the two decades since of copyists, bootleggers, practitioners and reunion concert pogoers. Though before and after that LP’s 1982 release they recorded the Livin’ in the 80’s 7”, songs for three comps and released the post-mortem History Of... cassette revealing their transformation into a toured band warming to the metaphysical and their demise while still waving torches of rock ‘n’ roll panache. When the Ramones lost it, the Zero Boys found it; Adding a slam brigade fist to the Blitzkrieg Beat. The Zero Boys managed to come with one of the best early 80's punk records, or one of the best records ever, period. Between Vicious Circle and History Of, the entire recorded output of this legendary Midwest punk band’s original line up is, finally, collected." -Culminated from liner notes written by Jack Rabid and Eric Weddle Label: Secretly Canadian Barcode: 656605018812

Out of stockSeminal record for any punk in UK, China or whatever you live, fucker!!!! The Partisans were formed in Wales south in 1978 with the original line-up of Phil Staton-voice, Rob "Spike" Harrington-guitar and backing vocals, Andy Lealand-second guitar, Mark "Shark" Harris-drums and Mark "Savage" Parsons-bass. This line-up will change after one year as Parsons and Staton left the band and Rob took the voice position and entering Louise Wright as bass player. Basically influenced by Sex Pistols, The Clash and Ramones, The Partisans started to cover those bands and playing some own sounds too. On September 1981 they released their first 7" under the label No Future Records, a fantastic single that helped the band to tour with the likes of Blitz, The Ejected and Peter and the Test Tube Babies. On May 1982 they released their second 7" and when 1983 arrived the band's debut LP was out. This debut LP is one of the seminal steps on British punk for sure, a record that still sound fresh and strong after 3o years. Label: Beat Generation

Out of stock"Philadelphia death rock/dungeon punk band Poison Ruïn consolidate their two EPs into one ten-song, self-titled album. Brained, fleshed, and recorded by Mac Kennedy, this effort is one of a personal nature. The sonic nature of the album has a human looseness, apparent like a cassette tape warbling from being wound and rewound. At times the songs sound thin and brittle, as though they are breaking apart simply by being played. The lyrics walk the same path and describe a world of cosmic horrors and environmental disaster. With their soft, eerie, medieval-hall introductions, each song transports the listener to a world of runes and swords, but staves off dorkiness with the relevance of a chewy post-punk center. Rife with sweetly stark guitar hooks and drums that flail like a death march, this self-titled LP gives off black metal at first glance. On further inspection, there is a gradation of inspirations ranging from pond-hopping blues guitar solos, heavy-handed punk drumming, gothic ambiance, and progressive song structures." Out of stockShort Days hails from Lille, nothern France. They've released a bunch of ep's getting better and better record after record. We really loved their "Bleak City" 7" out last year and we were more than pleased when the band proposed us to corelease their first full length. So "Short Days" is out now, 11 tracks of energy and catchiness often compared to The Observers or Social Circle. Youth Avoiders with a bit more of melody can also come to mind listening this killer LP. The band has had the great idea of including some keyboard parts here and there. The album was recorded in Roy-de-Rats studio in Leipzig, and mastered by Daniel Husayn at North London Bomb Factory. 3rd pressing of the SHORT DAYS LP. We are really thrilled of the enthousiasm this record has received since its release in 2017. This pressing comes in a new cover version. We are also excited to tell that the band has recorded a new full lenght a couple of weeks ago to released late 2023 ! Label: Destructure Records

High Vis were formed in 2016 from the ashes of some of the UK’s best hardcore bands. Gild-toothed frontman Graham Sayle’s anguished lyrics about life in working class Britain were familiar to fans of Tremors’ full-throttle thrash, but alongside his former bandmate Edward ‘Ski’ Harper and veterans of Dirty Money, DiE and The Smear, High Vis sought to transform that energy and intensity into something entirely new. Like scene-mates Chubby and the Gang did by pulling in unlikely source material from classic doo-wop or Micromoon have by combining everything from psychedelia and metal into their high potency mix, High Vis’ 2019 debut album, No Sense No Feeling showed the band were never going to be constrained by any sense of genre rules or regulations. Its claustrophobic rattle bore traces of Joy Division, Bauhaus, Crisis, The Cure and Gang Of Four lurking in the shadows. 2020’s synth-driven EP, Society Exists, was further evidence of the band’s restless creative MO. High Vis’ second album Blending sees them open their viewfinder wider than ever before. Alongside longstanding favourites such as Fugazi and Echo and The Bunnymen; Ride and even Flock Of Seagulls were shared reference points as the band worked on the album together. From the anthemic sweep of opener “Talk For Hours”, through the title track’s psychedelic swirl and “Fever Dream”’s baggy groove, it sees High Vis’ sound blossoming into something with an unlimited richness. The hazy drift of “Shame” or the melodic jangle of “Trauma Bonds” may take them until uncharted waters, but they still have all the power and bite that made No Sense No Feeling so remarkable. Lyrically, the album represents another leap forward too. Talking frankly about poverty, class politics, and the challenges of everyday life, Sayle’s lyrics have always addressed the downtrodden and discarded communities across Britain slipping below the waterline. This time around, Sayle’s lost not of that social consciousness, but he’s looked at himself and his own emotional landscape, and in the process created something that feels more universal, that reaches a hand-out to people and ultimately gives a message of hope. “To me, the lyrics are less selfish,” reflects Sayle. “In the past, I couldn’t see past whatever was going on with me. It’s about accepting things and being open to conversations and learning to talk to people rather than just thinking that we’re all doomed.” The song “Talk for Hours” is a prime example of that. Born out of an afternoon meeting up with an old group of mates “repeating the same thing and not actually learning anything about each other” it offers to actually break the cycle and to listen and speak frankly about shared feelings and experiences. “Trauma Bonds”, meanwhile, traces the broken lines of those living in lost communities, but ultimately realises that despite our shared scars, there’s still hope to move on to a better future. “The message of the album is you’re not who you’re told you are,” Sayle summarises. “You’re not your class background. Whatever it is, you’re not that. Don’t resign yourself to thinking you can’t be this and you can’t be that.” It's a vitally important message right now, and one that could be the motto for not only Blending, but for High Vis themselves. Out of stockCreated on the western edges of the infinite plains and prairies of coldest Canada, Edmonton, Alberta's HOME FRONT dance freely and madly along the edges of time and create their own moment amongst the revered and long frozen reserves of THE CURE, SUICIDE, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, "Second Empire Justice" era BLITZ, and NEW ORDER. A record bubbling over with analog synth, guitar loops, slammed 808 drums, and anthemic vocal pushes tugging at the great moment in-between the “death” of punk and the “birth” of new wave, pulling fresh sounds into their punk roots and shoving a studded leather jacket around a silk robe. Justice, violence, doubt and uncertainty a la Gary Numan narrating a Warren Miller Extreme Ski Special on the set of TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA: this is HOME FRONT. (La Vida Es Un Ms Records)

Out of stockIt’s going off and The Chisel are back to cause a bit of bovver. Following a trio of explosive singles, the band finally bring us their debut full-length album, Retaliation, on the London-based punk institution La Vida Es Un Mus. Having formed in early 2020 and featuring a crew of members with long-term associations to the London punk scene, The Chisel quickly secured a reputation as one of the most exciting bands from a pool of contemporaries that includes Chubby & The Gang, Stingray and Big Cheese. Their sound is rooted firmly in Punk but with influences that run across the board to create a distinctive blend of Oi!, anarcho, UK-82 and hardcore. Retaliation is an unmistakably British record that draws a line from 1982 up to the present day, pushing its way into your collection and torching your stereo. Opening with the agitated force of ‘Unlawful Execution’, the tone is firmly set by a song that addresses the brutality of the Met Police (“Tell me what’s the difference between right or wrong / When a copper gets to blast a lad who did nothing wrong”). ‘Come See Me’ is a ferocious ode to camaraderie in the face of mouthy boneheads and bellends. ‘Shit Life Syndrome’ is a poisoned reference to the same cynical phrase used by physicians to describe the effects of people living under poverty and in the grips of substance abuse (“How can you expect people to act nicely, they’ve all been left on the edge of society”). It’s one of many songs influenced by singer Cal’s experiences of growing up in the working-class town of Blackpool. Cal states: “Blackpool as a town is often overlooked or even looked down upon, I wanted to write lyrics which gave the people of my town a voice”. With tunes like these The Chisel show that they’ll never pull any punches. However, beyond the fury and the swagger there’s another side that plays to an additional strength; the ability to write a memorable hook. Songs like ‘Retaliation’, ‘Tooth & Nail’ and ‘Not The Only One’ could be described as modern day anthems (the latter has become a fan favourite since the arrival of their first live shows) and cement their identity as a band not to be defined by their influences. Retaliation is 14 tracks of dance floor-stomping-working class Chisel-music. Here and now, The Year of The Chisel. Label: La Vida Es Un Mus Records

Out of stock"Crunchy grind is what comes to mind after listening to this 30 minute monster. I’ll be honest straight up. I’m a fan of selective grind and it so happens I love exactly this kind of grind, so imagine my drooling when I first heard this. Internal Rot embody the purest traits that quality grind contains – violence and freedom. ‘Mental Hygiene’ will grab you by the collar and throw you straight into a pit of wild boars. You will be shredded into pieces in the frenzy that ‘Mental Hygiene’ creates. Musically, it is infused with punk thrash elements and the guitar tone it carries is jagged edged similar to what Insect Warfare, Wormrot, Infanticide and Death Toll 80k employ; and that is saying “it slays”. So fans who have heard these bands before should know what to expect and be ready to lap it up. Right from the first track ‘Muciferous’, the album is a gateway to unbridled anger and consequently, freedom. The 30 odd minutes get over in a blink of an eye. After absolutely four murderous tracks, the band also manages to get some groove in via the aptly named ‘Sex Everywhere’! It obviously doesn’t make sense to distinguish between songs in a top grindcore album like this, but ‘Internal Rot’ insert some slight shifts in tempo; alternating between blazingly fast and slightly slower mosh ready parts. Albeit for a few seconds, this keeps the attention of the listener and gives some breathing room like midway through ‘Nose in Neck’ and ‘Hodgkinson St.’, in order to get ready for the next round of barrage that inevitably follows. The last and the longest track happens to be titled ‘Riddled with Rage’ and it pretty much sums up the sentiment of the whole album. There is a certain appeal for grind albums like these, whose expressiveness and production attracts fans from other extreme genres." -dipym666 500 copies on smoky grey vinyl. Out of stockFINALLY!!! Re-released on vinyl after 40 years! "Disturbing Domestic Peace, The Ex's debut album, appeared mere months after their first single, 1980's All Corspes Smell The Same. Originally released on the band's own Verrecords (they made up different label names with each record), the LP falls squarely within a punk idiom and, at the same time, shows this influential Dutch group's restless energy. Terrie Ex's guitar serves up vectors of percussive pulse, fraying the edges of the music's squared-off rhythms. Vocalist G.W. Sok – an anarchist Dziga Vertov with a mic – observes, declaims and condemns across a set of interrelated political concerns that would return in Ex-music for years to come. While The Ex channel the poise and principled attack of Crass or Flux Of Pink Indians, they create a unique declamatory sound all their own – trailing brilliant flashes of color in the wake of punk's monochrome palette. Offering ten songs in only twenty-two minutes, Disturbing Domestic Peace lays bare a vivid snapshot of a truly singular band who (at the time) were just finding their feet." This first-time vinyl reissue comes with bonus 7-inch, inserts and 20-page booklet. Out of stockF.O.A.D. Records keeps up the unbreakable legacy with Italy’s absolute Hardcore heroes Raw Power giving to their most classic album “Screams from the gutter” a proper deluxe edition, a total quality-care version that makes justice to this timeless Hardcore milestone! Many of you will agree that this is the finest Italian HC offering ever made and easily one of the 10 world’s best Hardcore records of the 80’s.. over 40.000 copies sold and still sounding fresh and up-to-date even when compared to modern HC standards. FOAD’s treatment for this all time colossus consists of a thick glossy gatefold sleeve featuring lyrics and rare/unreleased photos and flyers, a square A2 replica of their cult gig-poster with Cro-Mags and Motörhead + a scrupolous mastering that respects in detail the original reel’s sound leaving full breathe and dynamics to its original impact and (raw) power! 17 gems of intense, no-frills HC with a bombastic drummer, fantastic guitar riffs and angry vocals. It’s a difficult comparison with their other early output – “You Are The Victim” and the excellent material released by BCT – but after all “Screams From The Gutter” marks Raw Power’s peak due to its superior production. The band’s simple yet instantly memorable riffs bring to mind Black Flag, Circle Jerks, but also earlier groups like the Who, AC/DC, and of course, the Stooges. Throw in some cool harmonics, rockin’ solos, a cowbell, and a guitar player with hell-shriek vocals and you have this flawless Hardcore classic!! Solid black vinyl limited to 200 copies. US Import. Death were a black power trio from Detroit who released a single in 1975 and pretty much disappeared after that. Inspired by the raw Rock 'N' Roll of the Stooges and MC5, the three brothers moved away from their Funk/R&B roots into a new realm.... for the Whole World to See features the two songs from the single ('Keep on Knocking' and 'Politicians in My Eyes') and five other tracks. MOS DEF SAYS: "These dudes were pre-Sex Pistols, pre-Bad Brains, pre-all that shit, and nobody knows about them. I don't understand how the world could forget them. You really should read up on the history of this Rock n' Roll artifact. A google search will help; something like "death band punk 1974"... The album reminds me of these bands: MC5, The Jam, Zero Boys, Early Police, RadioBirdMan - to name a few. If any of those bands are at your top 10, then this is a must have piece in your collection. NOTE: They are also selling it on vinyl on here!!! The story to this piece of work is very interesting not to mention inspiring to say the least. The songs? All are hits in my mind. I just wish there were more!" Label: Drag City Records Barcode: 781484038719

Out of stockThis record is nothing short of amazing, teaming 2 of the best hardcore bands from the early Washington DC scene. VOID is unlike anything else before or after - totally spastic and disjointed hardcore-punk that often seems like it's about to fall apart into noisy chaos only to go blasting back into anthemnic hardcore. On the FAITH side you get a similarly diverse, if more standard set of DC hardcore. These guys are so underappreciated it's sad. MINOR THREA's influence is still obvious but FAITH definately had their own thing going on. Vinyl was re-mastered and re-cut and includes a digital download card. Label: Dischord Records

Reissue of this long lost masterpice from 1981 originally released by Bulge / Genius records. The Astronauts were (and are, after close to 30 years and a history of lineup shifts only bested by The Fall) the definitive psych-punk ensemble, though even that title doesn't do 'em justice. Their sound culminates the post '77 punk dabblings of head forbears Twink (his 'Do it 77' single and The Rings' 'I wanna be free' platter), Nik Turner (the outstanding Inner City Unit and the 'punkier' late 70's bits of Hawkwind) and Daevid Allen's planet Gong (with fellow acid-punkers Here and Now) all woven in with an earlier Robert Wyatt / mellow candle-y psych folk vibe... While not sounding like any of those things at all. Get it? The album's range is gigantic: from dissonant punk a la Fall ('Everything stops for baby'), to epic progressive folk ('Protest song', 'Baby sings folk songs'), ditties ('Sod us'), hard-rock ('The Traveller'), pop ('How green was my valley'), garage / surf ('Still Talking'), industrial ('How long is a piece of string'), and set to arrangements that employ synths, flute, saxophone, and strays into progressive or even free-form / psychedelic sections. The icing on the cake is the mature statement of the lyrics, a cynical and bitter exploration of the lives of simple men, miles away from the generic horror / punk overtones that permeated most of alternative albums at the time. Formed in 1979 and fronted by the mercurial and troubled Adrian Borland (he would commit suicide in 1999 after years of battling depression), The Sound are one of the most unjustly neglected bands of the ’80s. They may not be as well-known as their contemporaries Echo & the Bunnymen or Joy Division, but their contributions to the first wave of English post-punk are as equally unique and influential. Fed up with its simplistic structure and rote posturing, Borland cut ties to the punk movement after fronting ’77-era group The Outsiders. Not unlike Magazine’s Howard Devoto, whose similar inclinations led to his leaving The Buzzcocks, Borland wanted to create a sound that relied more on atmospheres, tensions and instrumental interplay while harnessing the urgency of punk’s spirit. With the release of Jeopardy, The Sound turns this inspiration into a nearly perfect debut. Featuring rough-edged production fitting its £800 recording budget, Jeopardy is a caustic rush, full of songs with hooks and emotional impact that never resort to histrionics. The album’s opener starts off minimally, until the nervy guitars of the chorus rip through the song. This auspicious beginning only hints at what’s to come. Every song that follows builds on the momentum of a complex pop masterpiece. Borland’s lyrics also prove him to be one of the few post-punk songwriters whose words are worth poring over and analyzing. The album received extremely positive reviews, with NME, Sounds and Melody Maker all bestowing their highest ratings, and influential British DJ John Peel welcomed the band into the studio to record a session. All of the critical praise heaped on the band makes it hard to explain why The Sound never rose to the prominence of the two bands to whom they received the most comparisons, but one only need to listen to Jeopardy to hear Borland’s perfect combination of Joy Division’s dark, tortured angst and Echo & the Bunnymen’s accessible glam/art-rock fusion. “Lightning. Pure, white-hot, hot-streaking, sizzling, punk lightning. It’s punk that people who’ve ‘given up,’ ‘don’t get,’ or ‘moved on’ from punk have the highest percentage of liking. It’s just so obviously scorching, beautiful, and crackling music, regardless of genre. And I was reluctant to admit that lightning could strike twice. One of the driving forces behind RED DONS is DOUG BURNS, the lead singer and guitarist of the untouchable every-member-made-it-greater band, THE OBSERVERS. The Red Dons first LP, Death to Idealism, while it had its bright spots, sounded covered in blankets, a little restricted and restrained, a little awkward, a little tentative. Getting used to new skin. Not so with Fake Meets Failure. The burka’s ripped off, faces are revealed, and those faces are screaming. Analogous to the transformation of the Vicious to Masshysteri or Sexy to Future Virgins, it took a little time from the dusk of one band to the dawn of another, but the newer band, exhibiting similar genetic code to its predecessor, has developed its own personality, its own habits, and has accomplished what many, including myself, didn’t think was possible: release more music that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with some of their own legacy’s finest work. One of the best punk records of 2010, hands down.”—Todd Taylor (Razorcake) Label: Taken By Surprise Records

This bonus cut and new master is “thanks” to the assholes at the pressing plant in Eastern Europe for THROWING OUT the original D-O-B metal mothers*, so luckily MORITZ at DUOPHONIC in Augsburg baked and transferred the original reel-to-reel tapes and lovingly re-cut a beauty of a new master! Comes with a 2-page 30cm x 30cm insert crammed with pix & liners by John Petkovic (Death Of Samantha) and a slew of musician/fan ravings.
