• ANTISEEN is an American punk rock band formed in Charlotte, North Carolina by Jeff Clayton and Joe Young in 1983. The name "Antiseen" serves as a deliberate deviation of the phrase "anti-scene" - the group not wishing to adhere to standard perceptions of punk rock in specific and rock music in general. Musically, Antiseen is influenced by groups such as the Ramones and Stooges, employing short, heavily distorted power chord-driven songs largely free of guitar solos or advanced musicianship. “Eat more possum” is their most acclaimed álbum, originally released in 1993 and row remastered for this vinyl reissue. Years after crawling from the primordial ooze of rural North Carolina, Antiseen proceed to bulldoze through the nineties with one quality release after another. Eat More Possum is one of the greatest specimens of gun totin’, meat eatin’, society rejectin’ punk rock the Young / Clayton posse ever laid to wax. Young’s guitar tone is particularly grinding, heartwarming like steelcutting machinery buzzing in your ear, capped by Jeff Clayton’s trademark ursine raving. Speedballs like “Star Whore” and “Storm Trooper” are like chopper territory fights set to music, while anthropological studies on southern attitudes like “Trapped in Dixie” offer miles of perspective to the unfamiliar. The vegetarian torturing anthem “Animals (Eat ‘em)” may be the tastiest nugget in this pannikin of dixie nihilism, and the boys nail one hell of a Ramones cover along the way. This is an absolute must for fans of extreme punk rock ala GG Allin, Dwarves, Poison Idea, etc. Label: Bang! Records Barcode: 8435008871772

  • Voltage records delivers another great re-edition of Nordic noise. The unjustly neglected band that brought this great six-song single to the world, If you're a fan of Kaaos, Riistetyt, Mellaka or Svart Framtid, you'll be thrilled. As is customary at Voltage, we do our re-issues with the utmost fidelity to the original, and here we've thought of everything, from the engraved lyrics on the record, the weight of the paper, or even such madness as the custom-made adhesive wings that bind the cover to make everything look like it's '85. There's also a limited edition version available on clear vinyl in special packaging. The re-issue was released with the band's permission. (High Voltage Records)

In 1991, APATIA is already a well-recognized band in Poland, regularly playing shows and often appearing in fanzines. Ready to take the next step, they work hard new and phenomenal material that is already presented at their shows. Before the band enters the studio for the first time, new songs appear on the "Live" cassette (also known as "Literature and art in the fight against fascism") and record a demo of 11 songs, which will then be used as promo material only and send to potential publishers - Pietia from QQRYQ and Uszaty from NNNW. This never published and unknown demo of the band is now being released on vinyl exactly 30 years after its recordings. Documents the band just before recording the first album for Nikt Nic Nie Wie. APATIA of the beginning of the 90s it was an absolutely new quality in the local hardcore scene with its own characteristic style and great lyrics. For the next 20 years, we were able to enjoy the work of these guys who created one of the strongest pillars in the history of Hardcore Punk in Poland. Demo 1991 LP comes out with the anthology of the fanzine "Greencore", published in Poznan by members of Apatia - Bulwa and Matol, in the years 1989-1990 (all in Polish!). During this period, four issues were published, which - as the name suggests, combined the subject of HC (interviews, reviews, reports) with ecology and also strongly promoted vegetarianism and took up current socio-political and anti-Nazi topics. The zine published columns and comics. "Greencore" has published interviews with the bands ORANGE WORLD, S.K.T.C., KANADA, STRAWBERRY, A.P.S.F., BLOCKADE, AGENT 86, INDIREKT, AHIMSA, DER PANIK TREIBRIEGEL and ASSASSINS OF GOD. This anthology reflects the spirit of the young DIY scene of that period - enthusiasm and activism on many levels. Graphic design of the album cover and anthology: Jaroslaw Skladanek. Mastering Smok (Studio As One). One-time pressing of 309 copies. (Refuse Records)

    APHOTIC | abyssgazer | LP

Original price was: €19.00.Current price is: €15.00. incl. tax
A concept of ultimate finality doused in cosmological inevitability. A sound of world-building/destroying immensity shrouded in otherworldly dissonance and suffocating atmospherics. Visions of eons ahead, evoking the ultimate fate of matter and as such of existence. All this is the “Abyssgazer”, the immense debut album by Italian atmospheric post-death/doom metal oracle Aphotic. The four piece from northern Italy which features current and past members of bands like Fuoco Fatuo, Blasphemer, and Ekpyrosis, has set out to create the ultimate extreme metal clairvoyance into the death of our universe, through an audio, visual and conceptual experience of unparalleled evocative power. According to the eschatological tale and astrophysical prediction, the most absolute Omega possibly conceivable will materialize as aeons ahead, on timescales almost impossible to imagine, an inexorably inflating universe made only of exhausted and degenerate stellar remnants will reap apart the fabric of spacetime itself until matter will start decaying, and even every black hole singularity will be evaporated, due to quantum effects, into radiation emanating in nothingness. And so, as maximum entropy will be reached, time will become meaningless. In this frame, the album title-track reflects on how, in remote times and places, inert matter can shape into living beings, then evolve into sentient creatures who might become able to stare into the unknown and wonder about the true nature of time and space – by gazing into the abyss. The Abyssgazers, will become the self-consciousness of the Universe. Then come the medium: dark, imposing, colossal atmospheric death metal to disintegrate the fabric of perception, reality, and time itself, and to soundtrack the universe’s last vision and final breath. A nebulous, churning cosmic abyss evoking the destruction of worlds through masterful sonic synthesis: the necromancing twisted dark death metal of Incantation and Immolation, the expansive and morphing storytelling of Triptykon, Neurosis, Evoken and Bolzer, and the suffocating coldness and dissonance of Godflesh. And finally, the visuals by Chilean abstract painter Rodrigo Pereira: an otherworldly vision unto the abyss sealing this eschatological journey towards the eons to come. Analog mixing meticulously crafted under the expertise of audio engineer Greg Chandler from Esoteric (Priory Recording Studios, UK) and mastering by Colin Marston from Gorguts etc. (The Thousand Caves Studio, NYC), complete an unheralded debut album of immense, imaginative, consciousness-expanding avant-garde death metal crafted to glorify and reimagine the immensity and inevitability of death far beyond this carnal plain. ARCTIC MONKEYS | am | LP

    24.00 incl. tax
Who knew it was possible to hear in monochrome? Arctic Monkeys’ 5th studio album is a wickedly seductive record, draped in black leather and wielding a switch-blade. Alex Turner and co. had spent years shapeshifting from pointed indie, to sun-stroked desert rock to whimsical psychedelic pop. It wasn’t until AM that they created a sound so assured and so spellbinding. The thick grooves underpin the album. Unfaltering drumbeats and dark bass-lines dripping with fuzz leave you with a sense of dread and paranoia. That chest rattling dread associated with the likes of Black Sabbath. The haunted atmosphere is compounded by Jamie Cook’s guitar, flexing its muscles over the hip swaying rhythm. Even through the familiar Motown swing of 'Snap Out Of It', the bubbling G-Funk of 'Why Do You Only Call Me When You’re High' or the Velvet Underground melodies on 'Mad Sounds', you feel violated. Turner’s sinister overtones are palpable. His voice is demonically possessed. On songs like 'R U Mine?', 'One For The Road' and 'I Wanna Be Yours' he is joined by a chorus of fellow doomed souls. His fresh-faced cheek is dead. He retains his humour but the lines linger for longer, your hair stands up straighter and just like Turner, you can’t help yourself crawling back. AM is darker, sexier and better than anything Arctic Monkeys have done before or since. Play it after midnight. Turn off the lights. Watch your back. Label: Domino ‎– WIGLP317 Barcode: 887828031719

“Ancestral Cult” is the amazing second full-length studio album by the brand new atmospheric black metal phenomenon, the Berlin-based band Arde, but with important roots in the Spanish metal scene, featuring members from bands like the mighty Ancient Emblem or Death Above... To find some references in this genre is so easy, you only have to name bands like Wolves in the Throne Room, Fen or Wodensthrone... but there is something distinctive in the music Arde plays which makes it absolutely different and exceptional, call it anger, call it wrath, maybe call it frustration or just simply disappointment... the truth is that you will not find easy or hopeful tunes here, but the fury and passion of a band that, literally, is exploding from the inside out like a newborn star... Arma X burst onto the hardcore scene in 2019 with a demo that made people take notice from day one, seemingly coming out of nowhere, along with a whole host of new bands from Madrid. Taking the best of heavy hardcore styles, whether it’s Cleveland Straight Edge or NYHC Beatdown, Arma X are making it their own with tunes breathing new life into the genre in their debut album, Violento Ritual. Not for the faint of heart, the band are also redefining just how many dive bombs and breakdowns you can have in one song thanks to guitarists Yoshi and Rodri, and we are here for it! Vocalist Leo sings in Spanish, because there will be no appeasing to the English speaking hardcore masses here and rightly so. The result is vocals that just get taken to another level, delivered with Leo’s huge rasping voice not too dissimilar to Integrity’s Dwid, commanding over what sounds like a straight up war zone. Lyrically Arma X rock about the Straight Edge, naturally, as a true form of outsider behaviour within punk and also dark moments of anger in one’s personal life through occult imagery. Meanwhile drummer Tania and bassist Iker waste no time in pummelling out beats you want to smash heads to in the pit. The group are all hard working members of the Madrid hardcore community keeping their local scene vibrant and inclusive for all, reflected in the band themselves. Thanks to that hard work, along with many others from this new generation, the Madrid scene has been growing from strength to strength for the past 3 years. Arma X are part of this new wave of bands and DIY ethic that is selling out local only shows and making a community that stands strong. XXX Label: Quality Control Records

Formed by Edwin Pouncey in the Spring of 1977 “because there was a talent night at the Royal College Of Art”, their first gig ended (like so many of their other gigs) in a fight, to disguise their lack of material. Someone there offered them a gig for money so a set of 10 songs was quickly cobbled together. More gigs followed. Ricky Slaughter left to join The Motors, Robert Gotobed went to Wire and the line-up stabilised to include the nucleus of Edwin Pouncey, Steve Spear and Marion Fudger. A hippie guy and his stripper girlfriend who ran a record shop in the basement of Kensington Market decided to start a label and approached the Art Attacks. They released the 7,500 selling “I Am A Dalek” b/w “Neutron Bomb” single, but the relationship terminated when the stripper appeared on stage semi-naked and decided to whip an unamused Edwin. Their next foray into the studio was to record the classic “Arabs In ‘Arrads” for the first ever punk rock compilation album, “Streets” on Beggars Banquet. Suffering from stage fright, Edwin would only appear on-stage when inebriated. Each performance was unpredictable. Aside from the frequent fights, there was one occasion when Edwin climbed inside the kick drum and refused to perform, and once when he invited a tramp to ramble meaninglessly into the microphone, rather than sing himself. Tours with The Lurkers, Generation X, The Motors and Rock Against Racism followed, as did two live tracks “Animal Bondage” and “Frankenstein’s Heartbeat” on the “Live At The Vortex” album. The pressures of finishing their degrees terminated the band and the posthumous “Punk Rock Stars” b/w “Rat City” single was released. On 16th January 1979 the Art Attacks released their second and sadly posthumous single ‘First and Last’ on Fresh Records. The A side was “Punk Rock Stars” and featured the drumming of Robert Gotobed from Wire. The B side was “Rat City“. The A side was recorded in 1978 before they split in March of that year, while the B side was recorded in 1977. The artwork was designed by Edwin Pouncey aka Savage Pencil, lead singer of the band. After they split Edwin Pouncey, Marion Fudger and Steve Spear would form The Tagmemics who released one single ‘Chimneys’ on the Index label in 1980. Unquestionably a punk rock classic, the single is now highly collectable, has featured on many official and unofficial punk rock compilations and has been long overdue an official reissue so in 2022, in conjunction with the band, Overground Records have released a limited reissue of 500 copies on silver vinyl which losely reproduces the original sleeve and label artwork. • This album features the entire session that Artificial Peace recorded in November 1981. At the time, A.P. were on of the leading bands in the D.C. hardcore scene. Three members went on to form Marginal Man, who would have a very successful run well into the late 80s. (Dischord Records)

ASTIO come from Trento (veeeeryyyy Northern Italy) and have members who already destroyed our eardrums with bands like Left In Ruins, Impulso, Tuono and so on. She gained international attention in the mid-1960s following her recording of the song "The Girl from Ipanema". With her tenure on Verve drawing to a close, Astrud Gilberto steps further away from her bossa nova roots with 'I Haven't Got Anything Better To Do,' an intimate, nocturnal set closer in scope and spirit to the Baroque pop of Burt Bacharach, whose 'Trains And Boats And Planes' is beautifully rendered here. In the liner notes Gilberto dubs it "my fireplace album," and indeed the record is immediately warm and comforting, despite the melancholy that colors all of the selections. Formed in 1981 by a crew of hardcore punx and skins from Stoke-on-Trent in the industrial Midlands of England, Asylum fully embraced the ‘Noise Not Music’ rallying call. The missing link between Discharge and Japanese Noisecore, their sound is characterised by detuned ear-piercing distortion: buzzsaw guitars, fuzzed bass, charging drums and gargled vocals battle each other in a maelstrom of lo-fi production murk that reflects the bleak outlook of their lyrics. Only existing for a brief moment in time (playing a handful of mainly local gigs and releasing one demo tape and the occasional track on compilation tapes) and obscure even during their existence, Asylum were nonetheless influential, their ‘1,000 M.P.H. Hardcore Punk’ inspiring other U.K. groups such as Skum Dribblurzzzz and Napalm Death. (Nic Bullen) This release contains the 6 Track demo Is This The Price? Which was originally released as a tape only EP on Retaliation Records. The tracks have been remastered and mark the first time Asylum have released anything on vinyl. (Sealed Records)

The absolute feeling of despair, no fun and mental aberration unleashed by the sonic hecatomb of this recording frames the crude and hopeless reality in which it was made, in an extremely impactful way! • Julian Isaacs aka Auntie Pus, made a bet with his childhood friend Chris Millar (Rat Scabies of The Damned) that one of them would have a top ten record within 3 years. He of course lost that bet in less than a year as The Damned took the world by storm. Isaacs carried on with his own brand of punk and Syd Barrett inspired songs, playing with the best of the first wave of UK punk bands, and becoming frequent tour partners of bands like The Damned and The Ruts. In 1978 he finally recorded a single, featuring Rat Scabies on drums, which was eventually released with some help from the Ruts management, and did make not just into the weekly top 10 in Sounds, but "Single of the Week", and in a top 10 in Record Mirror when the Damned were pulling the reigns that week. Since then, the single has become a staple of conversations covering under the radar 70s UK DIY punk and "messthetics" type singles. This 7" is a deluxe edition with an unreleased track, artwork faithful to the original, with an accompanying insert that includes an in depth interview which should be fascinating to any fan of 70s UK punk, or fans of the Damned, photos, and more. How does something so vintage sound like such a breath of fresh air?! Berlin's AUS tap into the Heimatland's heritage of notoriously cold and humorless nihilism to produce a danceable sense of dread. When the rhythm section isn't driving us closer to armageddon it's providing a pounding tribal backdrop for brooding and disaffected witchy incantations. Distant guitars cut like broken glass and the synth rises up through the cracks like a blend of cigarette smoke and fog machine. Collectors take note!: Comes in a heavy 320g sleeve with band photo in handstamped wax envelope. Night time only record. (Static Age Music)

The world is in deep and dark disturbing times and Berlin’s AUS are the soundtrack to this apocalypse. This new three track EP has everything you loved from their second album from 2020 and more. It’s full of ice cold and stark future post punk gems. The drums drive the tracks with tom tom heavy rhythms next to a thunderous, melodic and locked in bass whilst the minimal synth and scatchy guitars add to the cold atmospherics. The vocals are the icing on top and move between Siouxsie and Anja from Xmal Deutschland with an added extra portion of boredom and disdain. If this was an obscure 7” from 1979 it would be on everyone’s wants list, but luckily for everyone it’s a 2024 release. ( Sean Forbes - Rough Trade ) Label: Static Age Music

Their 2nd album! All Girl Post-Punk from Berlin. Cool and sinister, definitely and positively sounding like a modern reincarnation of X-MAL DEUTSCHLAND! In the recently massive wave of bands being influenced by the early 80s Post-Punk sounds, AUS are still an outstanding appearance, with their icey synth-sounds, minimalistic guitar and bass, and almost tribal (or industrial?) drum beats. And their german lyrics perfectly fit into the atmosphere created. (Static Age Music)

Finally Re-issued after 20 years! - Originally pressed in 1996 PROFANE EXISTENCE is bringing this quintessential anarcho-punk masterpiece back in circulation. In 1996 AUS-ROTTEN released their first LP “The System Works For Them” on an unsuspecting punk scene. It spread like wildfire in a pre internet era within a genre that mostly depended on tape trading. (at least is was pre internet for us penniless punks) “The System Works For Them” was the perfect mix of anger and intelligence that the scene needed at the time (and still does today). It was like a wake up call that opened the eyes and ears to many punks the world over. The messages where crystal clear and most us were hooked as soon as the beginning shouts of “Boycott” bellowed over the speakers. I don’t believe any of us ever expected their message to resonate so well within the scene, but even more surprising is how the songs are just as relevant today as on they the day they were written. Which is why PROFANE EXISTENCE has decided to repress this record. We feel that that messages that AUS-ROTTEN brought to the table are to powerful to ignore. We feel that this LP is important and therefore should be highly available and priced affordably. We feel that those that would charge over exorbitant prices on eBay or Discogs have forgotten the message. PROFANE EXISTENCE has worked this out to ever last detail of this release with the members of AUS-ROTTEN whom have been involved from step one. All tracks have been re-masted by Jay Matherson at the Jamroom studios. To be 100% honest we didn’t want to do a complete re-master of what we already considered a good recording. However when we opened the tracks on protools we noticed a few balance issues that required fixing. These fixes resulted in a tremendous upgrade to the overall quality of the tracks. We painstakingly scanned, puzzled, and photoshopped the original artwork to make sure that it was as close to authentic as it could possible be. We then went for broke by pressing in three different vinyl color combinations! Overall to say that we are pumped to release this would be an understatement, we are absolutely ecstatic to bring you this LP on PROFANE EXISTENCE! Label: Profane Existence Records

In 2007 Lucas began to entwine his Punk Rock nature with his Bluegrass upbringing eventually collaborating and touring with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music and traveling the country on the Warped Tour, Willie Nelson's Country Throwdown Tour and the Revival Tour. This record was written and recorded DIY in 2020. While the world fell apart around us. While the so called "world leaders" actively worked to violently put down popular dissent against their bigoted systems of imperialist control. While neighbors turned on each other and purposely breathed plague in their fellow humans' faces out of a misguided sense of rebellion. While the bosses forced us all back to work and the government shamed us for any social contact that didn't keep the gears of capitalist modernity turning. While millions suffered and died. While the world moved on. Pressing Details: 200 pro done Tapes (Alerta Antifascista Records)

THE LONG-AWAITED FULL-LENGTH RETURN OF THE US DEATH METAL PIONEERS FOR A NEW BOUT OF SUPREME SICKNESS. “Absolutely brilliant. "Morbidity Triumphant" is definitely one of the year's best death metal albums” - Blabbermouth Since first bursting onto the death metal scene with the now genre classic ‘Severed Survival’ back in 1989, and following up with the equally revered ‘Mental Funeral’ album, the influential US quartet has carved an unwavering legacy over three decades as masters and purveyors of the vile sides of the extreme metal spectrum. And now, Autopsy marks its reinvigorated return, presenting the first new full-length studio opus since 2014’s ‘Tourniquets, Hacksaws and Graves’ with ‘Morbidity Triumphant’; a savage offering of brutal death, showing the US legends still have an unbridled hunger for the sadistic, never reluctant to step beyond the threshold of decency. ‘Morbidity Triumphant’, the band’s eighth album, is truly a dark delight for seasoned and new listeners alike, with a raw organic sound perfectly encapsulating what makes Autopsy so distinguishable among its peers, for what could easily be considered one of its strongest offerings to date. The driving force of Autopsy as ever is the virtuoso guitar pairing of Eric Cutler and Danny Coralles, effortlessly trading off their schizophrenic leads and switching from all-out death metal madness to groove-laden heavy doom, with unmistakable drum/vocal legend Chris Reifert being master of proceedings, spewing his own infinitely creative maniacal musings. ‘Morbidity Triumphant’ also notably marks the first album to feature new bassist Greg Wilkinson, currently also seen in Static Abyss along with Chris. ‘Morbidity Triumphant’ was recorded at Opus Studios, with long-associated engineer Adam Munoz at the helm. Mastering was completed by Ken Lee. The cover artwork appears courtesy of Wes Benscoter (Slayer, Bloodbath), with a new work of twisted and sinister genius. Autopsy will be supporting ‘Morbidity Triumphant’ with a series of dates throughout the remainder of 2022. (Peaceville Records)
  • AVIADOR DRO Y SUS OBREROS ESPECIALIZADOS formed in the Prosperidad Neighbourhood of Madrid in 1979. Influenced equally by Dadaism and Futurist ideas as by the contemporary sounds of bands such as DEVO, THROBBING GRISTLE or CABARET VOLTAIRE, they started creating their own brand of electronic music. Soon after the band won the third prize of a local Battle of The Bands show and were given a record deal as a prize that resulted in La Chica De Plexiglás 7” (Movieplay-1980) and La Vision 7” (Movieplay-1981) both of which were recorded at the same session with a third 7” recorded but not released at the time. Faced with the total lack of interest showed by the label and feeling alienated in a Music World which wasn’t the one they dreamed of, they decided to do what dozens of their peers were doing worldwide; They started their own label, Discos Radioactivos Organizados (DRO) following the steps of Factory or Industrial Records. Faced with the exit of three members who left the band to form a more radical band (ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO), AVIADOR DRO entered Doublewtronix studios to record Nuclear Sí, marking the birth of the Independent Music Industry in Spain. The four tracks on the EP became instant classics with Nuclear Sí being the absolute standout track, while Varsovia en Llamas, Sintonia Del Refugio Atomico and Godzilla were perfect nuggets of Synth-punk who remain amongst the greatest Spanish Pop songs ever. Originally hand-assembled, hand-coloured, self-released and distributed in the total DIY spirit, the first release of DRO remains a perfect example of what a bunch of teenagers can achieve armed with just their youthful energy and idealism. Nuclear Si, was repressed three times and has been out of print since the early 80’s. This reissue of 500 radioactive green vinyl comes out in the year that AVIADOR DRO celebrates its 40 anniversary with a book released and an anniversary tour. Label: La Vida Es Un Mus Records
  • Sweden’s Legendary D-Beat Band AVSKUM return with their first new album since 2008, “ En Annan Värld Ar Möjlig" ( Another World Is Possible). Their fifth album has 17 new tracks of rage filled D-beat hardcore supporting Indigenous rights, Self-determination and attacking Fascism, Militarism, Misogyny and political corruption. Avskum’s sound has it’s roots in their 1982 origins at the earliest stages of Swedish hardcore punk, with harshly screamed vocals and quick blasting songs, underlined over the ensuing decades by a rock driven heaviness with searing guitar solos, thundering bass lines and rampaging drum attack. Recorded by Kenko at Communichaos Studios, the album features guest vocals from Tompa from At The Gates / Disfear, TB from Asocial / Uncurbed and Mattis from Makabert Fynd. With two stunning cover illustrations by Jordan Barlow to hammer home their vision of empowerment and resistance. Label: Skrammel Records (Europe), Prank Records (US)

Rise of the Serpent Men was recorded at Lion Studios in Leeds in 1988 and released the same year. The band has gained a strong cult following in countries such as Japan over the years and has lately seen a new period of activity, with a studio album in the offing, along with plans for extensive live work. • This Back Dots set represents the earliest Bad Brains music. It was recorded soon after their 1979 formation in the home of producer Don Zientara and remained unreleased until belatedly seeing the light of day in 1996. The record has been difficult to find on vinyl after quickly going out of print. It’s a breathless, often exhilarating, always intense ride with the 16 cuts barely breaking a half hour. All but one is under three minutes with a handful under two. And even if the reggae influences that informed the Brains’ sound at their height aren’t apparent, this shows how tight and together they were early on. Official reissue. Rock for Light is the second full-length album by Bad Brains, released in 1983. It was produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. We’re proud to present the original mix of the album, for the first time in decades, as the band originally intended. Most fans will be more familiar with the 1991 reissue, which was remixed by Ocasek and bass player Darryl Jenifer. In addition to new mixes, that version used an altered track order. This reissue marks the fourth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. This is the classic album from 1982. Virtually everyone agrees that this group made up of 4 DC African American. They radically quickened punk's tempos, added virtuoso instrumentation, and topped it all off with the mystic squeals of frontman Paul "H.R." Hudson. This release gives voice to the band's scathing sociopolitical judgment as well as its ability to simply put the hammer down and rock. It also allows the rhythm section of Darryl Jenifer and Earl Hudson to flex their muscle on a smattering of dub-reggae interludes that help lull the unsuspecting into the right frame of mind for the next hardcore punch. Bad Brains is the self-titled debut studio album recorded by American hardcore punk/reggae band Bad Brains. Recorded in 1981 and released on (then) cassette-only label ROIR on February 5, 1982, many fans refer to it as "The Yellow Tape" because of its yellow packaging. Though Bad Brains had recorded the 16 song Black Dots album in 1979 and the 5-song Omega Sessions EP in 1980, the ROIR cassette was the band's first release of anything longer than a single.
