THE CLASSIC 1980 DEAD KENNEDYS’ ALBUM, REMIXED FROM THE ORIGINAL MULTI-TRACK TAPES. • REMIXED BY CHRIS LORD-ALGE, GUIDED BY EAST BAY RAY AND KLAUS FLORIDE. • ALSO FEATURING PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN IMAGERY, EXTENSIVE ESSAY AND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM COUNTLESS ARTISTS INSPIRED BY THE ORIGINAL ALBUM • A REMARKABLE SONIC REVISITATION OF THIS MASTERPIECE! San Francisco’s Dead Kennedys arrived onto the post punk scene of the late 70s and early 80s with something to say and an urgent, razor sharp sound. Via two early singles they delivered the classic ‘Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables’ in 1980. In the intervening decades the album has never failed to inspire and challenge everybody who came across it. This new mix, produced by Chris Lord-Alge gives incredible new sonic clarity to those songs, accompanied by sleevenotes from Amy Linden and East Bay Ray, alongside contributions from Dave Grohl, Duff McKagan and many other artists inspired by the record over the years. “We tried one song, ‘Chemical Warfare’. What Chris came back with was amazing. Everyone heard the difference, so we said, ‘All right, let’s go!’.” – East Bay Ray This new 2022 Mix demonstrates the enduring power of this music, and the relevance of its message today. A revolutionary, must-hear experience for everybody familiar with the original! • Live at the Deaf Club is a live album released by the Dead Kennedys in 2004 and had a limited edition re-release 2013 in the UK on Let Them Eat Vinyl. The actual performance took place at the San Francisco Deaf Club on March 3, 1979. The performance was unique in that this was the last time their rhythm guitarist 6025 performed with them. It also includes original drummer Ted, later replaced in February 1981 by D.H. Peligro. Also, the song "Gaslight" and their covers of "Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Have I the Right" are not found on any other DK album (The Deaf Club recordings of "Short Songs" and "Straight A's" are featured on the compilation album Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death and the hard-to-find Can You Hear Me? Music From The Deaf Club along with "Police Truck"). "Back in Rhodesia" is an early version of "When Ya Get Drafted" with a different chorus than the final version. Dead Moon’s beloved third album, released in 1990, when some fellow Pacific Northwest underground rockers were getting ready to be flung head first into the mainstream. But Dead Moon remained defiantly underground! Raw, primordial and true to their own style and fiercely DIY ethic. With classics “Dagger Moon” “Walking On My Grave” and “Johnny’s Got A Gun.” Remastered from the original tapes. \Label: Mississippi Records Barcode: 850024931091

Clackamas, Oregon’s Dead Moon are truly one of the most independent and revered Northwest underground bands of all time. With Fred Cole on guitar and vocals, his wife Toody on bass and vocals, and the nearly indefatigable Andrew Loomis on drums (“nearly” because he’s rumored to have passed out on stage from exhaustion…), Dead Moon have been churning out their own indescribable brand of rock and roll for nearly 20 years now (and Fred’s career spans back another 20+ years before that). And they have yet to slow down. Proof of the band’s potency can be witnessed at any stop along one of their marathon tours of America and Europe. Their intensity and vitality are as unquestionable now as ever. Be warned: seeing Dead Moon live can be a life-altering experience that can quickly render at least half of your record collection useless and frivolous. The model of DIY self-sufficiency, Dead Moon have recorded almost all of their output themselves, released much of it on their own label (Tombstone Records, “Music Too Tough to Die”) and even cut their own masters (on the same disc cutter used for The Kingsmen’s all-timer “Louie Louie”). Echoes of the Past, is the best of Dead Moon as compiled by rock and roll legend and survivor Fred Cole, and we at Sub Pop are honored to be involved. If you love your rock and roll dark and heavy yet accessible, full of Mojo Rising and Ex-Catholic Voodoo and biting power chords and Charlie-Watts-on-speed-drumming, there simply is no better Northwest band than Portland's immortal Dead Moon. This gluttonously Caligula-generous, near-50-song 4xLP, limited-edition color vinyl anthology box set (with turntable slipmat, beverage koozie, stickers, button pack, and poster) is your gateway into the underworld of this criminally underrated band. M’lady’s Records is extremely excited to announce the reissue of DEAD MOON’s debut album classic, “In the Graveyard”. Highly sought by rock ‘n’ roll maniacs around the globe for its breathtaking songwriting and attitude, it’s also the first release in M’lady’s 2014 reissue series documenting many different timeless albums issued by Fred & Toody Cole (also of the Rats and Pierced Arrows). This record will NOT let you go once it’s made its way into your mind: every song is a classic, almost intimidating in its poise and strength. For the uninitiated, DEAD MOON come on almost like a hybrid of the most exciting elements of Love, AC/DC, the Weeds, and the Elevators. No joke. The group are also famous for operating extremely DIY, down to the recording and mastering of their albums (famously cut on the very same lathe that cut “Louie Louie” by the Kingsmen!). “In the Graveyard” was reissued on LP by our comrades at the estimable Mississippi Records in 2011, and we’ve teamed up with them to get this compact disc edition out to you, the bedroom rebel, the night time revolutionary, the romantic with a wake of destruction in your path. Also highly recommended for everyone with a beating heart and two ears. (Mississippi Records)

Yes, this is the legendary "green tape" of one of the first Austrian punk bands DEAD NITTELS. Triggered by their gig with the UK SUBS on September 26, 1982 in Ampermoching / Dachau / Germany at the "Gasthaus zur Post", the DEAD NITTELS booked some studio time to lay down no less than 16 tracks in only three days, on a four track recorder - but the only used two of them - one track for the instruments and one for the vocals, they bought the cheapest tapes available -which happened to be ungly green, and dubbed 300 copies with the studio tracks plus seven live tracks from their UK SUBS show. Good luck if you want to track down one of the tapes... For all others, here's the remastered greatness of this early Austrian punk album! (Bachelor Records)

Another repress of a classic UK Punk EP from this Birmingham based band originally released in 1982. Four songs. (Mad Butcher Records)
  • Furthermore, and as a separate release, the band’s foreboding 1989 “Deny Your Destiny” demo and 1990 “Necrorgasm” EP have been compiled on a single LP to document the band’s early trajectory, which eventually led to the release of “Demise.” These two prior recordings include germinal versions of several songs from the first full-length, along with others such as “Necrorgasm,” “Mass Impalement,” and “Death Courier,” which were not included on “Demise.” This “EP and Demo” LP also includes four live tracks taken from the 1990 Molon Lave Festival and a 1991 gig at the Villa Amalias Squat in Athens. This unearthing and reanimation of Death Courier’s earliest scourging imprints erases a longstanding void in the availability of the most essential recordings from one of the most important pillars in the Greek black/death metal canon.
