Last in the Disfear re issue series. Crushing Swedish hardcore originally released in 1997 and of print on vinyl ever since. Disfear combines the intensity and bleak anti war imagery of Discharge and early UK bands with the heaviness of Swedish Death Metal and Crust. The result is like a sledgehammer to the walls of ignorance and oppression built up around us by the system. A blast of raw anger and pure hardcore power. Full color gatefold. Out of stockFinally a re-release of this classic album. Adding ENTOMBED guitarist Uffe Cederlund to a group that already features AT THE GATES singer Tomas Lindberg has created a death 'n' roll supergroup - and one of the best heavy records of 2008. For those who are unfamiliar with DISFEAR, it is basically a mix of a lot of hardcore with a lot of metal to create a product that is simply loud, in your face and unrelenting. "live the storm" is a 35min. assault of heavy power chords, pounding drums and bass, layered with southern sounding leads and throat wrenching yells. LabeL La Familia Releases

Those not familiar with Disfear should be ashamed of themselves - you probably have been hiding under a rock for more than 25 years. Starting out as yet another Discharge inspired Dis-band from Sweden, they released a monumental debut album back in 1992 along with producer Tomas Skogsberg. In the years, Disfear became one of the only real survivors of the Dis-scene, and even though many line-up changes plagued the band, they kept on going until they left Osmose Records in 1998 - at which point they had incorporated ex-At the Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg in the band. Instead of calling it quits, the band had five years to work on new material, and Relapse made them an offer they couldn't refuse, resulting in "Misanthropic Generation". Swedish hardcore in its purest form, "Misanthropic Generation" is a maturation, modernization and perfection of Discharge's music from back in the '80s. With a blazing pace, Entombed-ish guitar/bass riffing meeting the banshee vocalism of Tomas, supported by wickedly groovy Motorhead-style drumming - masturbation for the mind, one might call it. Well adapted to the sound of the new millennium, the twelve songs on this album (mostly clocking around three minutes) are a firm reminder of the past as well as an excellent look into the future of hardcore: "Misanthropic Generation" is a must-have for those who loved Discharge way back as well as those who claim to have an interest in the Swedish hardcore scene. Out of stock25 year anniversary edition! Originally released in 1995 via Distortion Records, now re-released via La Familia Releases! Forming around 1989, Disfear took elements from both crust and death metal scenes to effectively reinvent the Swedish sound. It is from Disfear's influence that we have seen the likes of Martyrdod, Warcollapse, Wolfpack (now Wolfbrigade), and countless others. Disfear simply took the things that made the Swedish death metal scene so effective such as ferocious/anxious vocals and pummeling drums and put them into the arena of d-beat punk. The result added new dimensions to the genre's sound. Arriving on the scene in Sweden, the band would tour with much of Sweden's metal royalty such as Entombed and Dismember. This happened in part because the band did not have many sonic contemporaries in Sweden at the time. Another innovation made by Disfear was the shift from political commentary on war to the fatalistic and psychological impacts war makes. Again, the band's lyrics also showed influence from the realm of death metal. Gone were the cries for peace and protest against government warmongers and replaced by the resignation that the war was lost. The band's debut LP "Soul Scars" spells this out perfectly. Themes of psychological trauma and irrevocably broken lives from war replaced the politically charged battle cries that Discharge once made. Label: La Familia Releases

Repress of 500 copies on burgundy vinyl. Bristol punk pioneers Disorder formed around 1980, during the second wave of UK punk rock. Their approach to DIY ethics was so deep that they decided not to sign to Riot City, but to create a label of their own, for a bunch of classic singles the average distortion level of which led BBC DJ John Peel to describe Disorder as sounding like "shit". In fact, unlike many contemporaries like Crass or Conflict, Disorder showed no ambitions in stylistic experimentation: their 1984 debut LP 'Under The Scalpel Blade' is one blast after the other of pure rage, packaged in two-minute bursts of hyper-speed drumming, distorted guitars, and screaming vocals. Finally the official reissue of the "Violent world" album originally released in 1989 by Disorder records. Come digipack cd, insert and obi strip. Killer classic! Label: Helvetet Records

Out of stockFrom their beginnings as teenagers experimenting in a San Fernando Valley garage dubbed "The Hell Hole" to headlining major music festivals around the world, Do What You Wanttells the whole story of Bad Religion's 40-year career in irreverent style. Do What You Want: The Bad Religion Story reveals the ups and downs of the band's forty-year career. From their beginnings as teenagers jamming in a San Fernando Valley garage dubbed "The Hell Hole" to headlining major music festivals around the world, Do What You Want tells the whole story in irreverent style. While Do What You Want tracks down nearly all of Bad Religion's members past and present, the chief storytellers are the four voices that define Bad Religion: Greg Graffin, a Wisconsin kid who sang in the choir and became an L.A. punk rock icon while he was still a teenager; Brett Gurewitz, a high school dropout who founded the independent punk label Epitaph Records and went on to become a record mogul; Jay Bentley, a surfer and skater who gained recognition as much for his bass skills as for his onstage antics; and Brian Baker, a founding member of Minor Threat who joined the band in 1994 and brings a fresh perspective as an intimate outsider. With a unique blend of melodic hardcore and thought-provoking lyrics, Bad Religion paved the way for the punk rock explosion of the 1990s, opening the door for bands like NOFX, The Offspring, Rancid, Green Day, and Blink-182 to reach wider audiences. They showed the world what punk could be, and they continue to spread their message one song, one show, one tour at a time -- with no signs of stopping.
