Out of stockScreeching Weasel arrives with their 14th studio album, written and recorded in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This time, the kings of pop-punk pick up where they left off on their 2020 LP Some Freaks Of Atavism, leaning into themes of death, insanity and the apocalypse. Whether pulling the rug out from under a relationship (Any Minute Now), skittering on the edge of madness (In La Quinta del Sordo) or struggling with a guilty conscience (Pandora's Eyes), singer/songwriter Ben Weasel spits out trenchant lyrics over sugar-coated hooks that lacerate even as they delight. The Awful Disclosures of Screeching Weasel serves up an unblinking analysis of life in lockdown. Label: Striped Records

Slovenian all female hardcore/punk band active during 80's and former in Ljubljana ex-Yugoslavia. Trail-blazing female punk band Tozibabe was the first girl group in Yugoslavia to write its own material, and one of the few female hardcore acts of Eastern Europe. Their furious, uncompromising songs had scathing, shouted vocals, and its members tackled different instruments, making them the stuff of legend. This wide-ranging compilation gathers material from the Hard-Core Ljubljana compilation, their ground-breaking mini-LP, Dežuje, live tracks from their appearance at Novi Rock in 1985 plus previously unreleased work from their 2015 reunion show. Out of stockTerveet Kädet, established by Läjä Äijälä, called it quits in 2016 after nearly four decades of being active, but luckily opinions change and decisions can also be unmade. Svart Records are proud to release the band’s new album Kaikki kaikkia vastaan (translates to All against all) on March 3rd, 2023. According to Äijälä the comeback has been brewing in the back of his head for a long time now. After some gigs with the newly resurrected band the new songs began to pop up little by little. Kaikki kaikkia vastaan is a brutal album. It combines elements of metal from the band’s alter ego Lapin Helvetti and the more traditional explosive thrash and hardcore of TK. The album’s themes and lyrics deal with dark and twisted topics of modern society. -“We’re a band from Northern Finland. The album title, song titles and lyrics together sum up the modern worldview. Kaikki kaikkia vastaan is 16 songs of reduced angst”, Äijälä adds. Since its establishment in 1979 Terveet Kädet has toured around the world, gained a cult status and a lot of fans worldwide from the members of Sepultura to Mike Patton. In honor of the band’s 40th anniversary Svart Records put together a five-vinyl box set of their material from the ‘80s, which is now sold out. The band will embark on a domestic tour in March and continue touring next year in Europe and South America. Label: Svart Records

Limited to 1500 hand numbered copies on orange vinyl with black splatter. 'The Lemonheads' is the eighth studio album by the Lemonheads, released in 2006, marking their return from a nine-year hiatus. This new pressing, the first since 2007, is released via Hassle Records for the UK/EU, in conjunction with Vagrant Records to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. "Punk's Not Dead! The Marvellous Return of Evan Dando. The Lemonheads is a moody, giddy, charming album, as ragged and dynamic as those the band were making half a lifetime ago. It's a small miracle that Evan Dando is still alive. It's a slightly bigger one that he can still fend off maturity with such ruffled, wide-eyed panache" Uncut (Oct '06) "Dando has revived the Lemonheads moniker and signed up drummer Bill Stevenson and bassist Karl Alvarez, both veterans of Eighties American punk-rockers The Descendents. The result is a more focused, less varied sound, and none the worse for that. Tight and passionate, "Pittsburgh" could be by an American version of The Jam, while "Become The Enemy" could have been written at any time in the past 20 years, its catchy indie-pop setting providing a stable footing for Dando's account of a collapsing relationship." Growing up at the end of the world makes you feel unique and timeless things. There is universality in life apart from the excessive urbanism of big cities, rocked by the waves and a not so rare sun. The teenage years are those of endless summers where feelings and the taste for freedom enter a new dimension. LITOVSK takes a look at this period but also on its commitment to activism and questions its relationship to others, social determinism and religious faith. This record could be described as a kind of testimony but it’s much more than that : lyrics, music and artwork go in the same direction and form a rich protean ensemble. During these five songs, LITOVSK ventures into new territories with more melodies and more room for melancholy without losing anything of their singular sound and energy. This 12’’ was recorded between Leipzig and Brittany and it is brilliantly illustrated by Evan Luven’s full of sensitivity photos. Reverside 350gr sleeve and printed inner-sleeve with 8 pages booklet. The third full length by Morrow, who hail from London, UK. The Quiet Earth is a raucous, emotional epic of cello and violin, pummelling crescendos and furious D-beat - combining the emo-crust of Remains of the day, the crushing powerhouse of Neurosis, the feverish joy of Envy and the baroque emo-violence of Drei Affen, Morrow wear their influences proudly - featuring guest vocals from many of their contemporaries and pioneers of the genre, (among them members of His Hero Is Gone, Habak and the aforementioned Drei Affen) - The Quiet Earth is a celebration of disparate voices coming together, in a time when we need community more than ever. Sclavos mess with an exonerated post-punk glitch and their shows glamorously flirt with a meditating exploit through the exploration of the limits of the self. Cacophonous and edgy, nasty and audacious, they project the primordial basis of cathartic rock music to a post-apocalyptic, toxic sound annihilation. Their debut album, "Heroin Macarena", was recorded at Electric Highway Studio by John Vulgaris and was mixed by Dimitris Patsaros. Mastering by Haris Zourelidis. Label: Phase! Records

Out of stockSleaford Mods release their new album UK Grim through Rough Trade Records. As the Nottingham duo's most dancefloor friendly release to date, UK Grim is an urgent and sage-like look at life, living and the gritty reality of our era. Truly the sound of now, not only in terms of the ideas and issues Jason Williamson's strong words invoke, but also thanks to the innovative and immersive production of Andrew Fearn, which on this release has seen the pair collaborate on songs with Jane's Addiction's creative powerhouse, Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, and with Florence Shaw, the distinct and vital voice at the heart of British band Dry Cleaning. Speaking of the forces that have triggered the poetic protest at the heart of this record, as with their musical forebears like The Clash or The Jam, Sleaford Mods reveal that the outrage they feel is underscored by love for the people and places around them, making UK Grim as much a celebration of individuals and the idealists as it is an attack on ruling classes who pursue their own self-serving agendas with increasing desperation. “Maybe we are proud of the country. Maybe we are proud to be English,” explains Williamson. “Maybe I’m proud of the horrible grey streets and the shit weather and the stupid fashions I find myself investing in. It’s just that the English we’re proud of being is absolutely nothing like the English the authorities want to try and promote.” Angry yet artful, innovative yet possessing an instinctual energy that irresistibly moves bodies and minds, UK Grim is an erudite electronic vision that truly engages with times that have been anything but 'precedented'. Out of stockPhiladelphia Punks POISON RUIN make their Relapse Records debut with their new album, Harvest! Evoking a rich tapestry of ice-caked forests, peasant revolts, and silent knights, POISON RUIN stab at the pulsing heart of what it means to live under the permanent midnight of contemporary life. With Harvest, the band aligns their sonic palette to their godless, medieval-inflected aesthetic symbolism, creating a record which strikes with an assured sense of blackened harmony. “I’ve always found fantasy tropes to be incredibly evocative,” vocalist Mac Kennedy notes, “that said, even though they are a set of symbols that seem to speak to most people of our generation, they are often either apolitical or co-opted for incredibly backwards politics.” Kennedy reworks fantasy imagery as a series of totems for the downtrodden, stripping it of its escapist tendencies and retooling it as a rich metaphor for the collective struggle over our shared reality: “Instead of knights in shining armor and dragons, it’s a peasant revolt,” Kennedy explains, “I’m all for protest songs, but with this band I’ve found that sometimes your message can reach a greater audience if you imbue it with a certain interactive, almost magical realist element.” The title track invokes images of feudal peasants, tithes, and money-hungry lords, sounding the horn of labor with the rallying cry, “Isn’t this our harvest? Isn’t this our feast to share?” Tales of the undead rising to take revenge upon those who have unknowingly wronged them spin out like pleasantly cathartic folktales (“Resurrection II”), while other tracks address the profound beauty and spirit of those making ends meet in the forsaken ends of POISON RUIN’s hometown of Philadelphia (“Blighted Quarter”). The band stares into the abyss of modern living with a sober and empathetic outlook, portraying our cracked reality as a complex and difficult to parse miasma of competing desires. With Harvest, POISON RUIN have constructed a richly chilling fable out of modern living. Their tale is as lurid as it is seductive, as much a promising fantasy as it is a dreary portrait of reality itself. Label: Relapse Records Barcode: 0781676753727

Hailing from the former northern mining town of Wigan, between Manchester and Liverpool, the short-lived Electro Hippies were a band like no other, saluted as icons of crust punk and proto-grindcore. Following some cassette demos, a shared LP with Newcastle’s Generic and a Peel session, debut LP The Only Good Punk…Is A Dead One surfaced on Peaceville with twenty songs, all clocking in at under two minutes (around half being less than 60 seconds). Highly political, deeply ironic, and with a snatch of Black Sabbath in the mix, The Only Good Punk is the band at their blistering best, the peak that preceded their ultimate downfall.
