The boys have been barricading themselves in the '79 Sound Studio in Cologne to work on new material for their second album. The result was mixed in the well known Atomic Garden Studio in the Bay Area of San Francisco, but mastered in the Audiosiege Studio in Portland, Oregon. They have now completed the masterpiece and are ready to release it. They also have a concept on this album. The band wrangles with the mightiest foe of human kind in their lyrics: time, that keeps on ticking away. That's why 'Downfall Of Gaia' cut down on the calmer song fragments and rush through this album, titled "Aeon Unveils The Thrones Of Decay". Limited to 300 copies. Suffering from insomnia, the day by day routine and the security that things are completely out of control nowadays, all of this puts so much pressure on him that he is slowly losing his mind. It’s a huge story about a person and the sickness, his state of mind and how his psychological conscience develops. This story is representative for a more and more fast moving time such as today where it’s way too easy to lose control and to get buried by the growing weights on our own backs. Compared to our last releases, we’ve got the most mixed style on the new album and it has a lot of dynamic. It’s more aggressive than the other stuff. Swedish crossover thrash four-piece DR. LIVING DEAD! disbanded in late summer 2022, thanking friends, business partners and fans alike for supporting the band throughout its 15-year existence. After their formation in Stockholm in 2007 the group went on to record four full-lengths between 2011 and 2017 – two on High Roller and Century Media respectively – but their first two demo CDs “Thrash After Death” (2007) and “Thrashing the Law” (2008) have never been officially available – until now. High Roller have compiled all of DR. LIVING DEAD!´s early recordings under the title “Demos After Death”. Featuring 13 tracks on vinyl plus an additional six on CD, this set encapsulates what the quartet has always been about – part bandana-wearing, baseball-capped, skull-faced metal thrashing mad and part loving tribute to eternal idols like Slayer, Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. Add to this a penchant for skateboard culture, the cinema of the 1980s, a pinch of belated Cold War angst as well as a healthy dose of humour, and you have a perfectly timeless piece of crossover how it was meant to be originally. Or to put it in DR. LIVING DEAD´s own words: “Grab something nice and cold to drink, put on the S.O.D. record and give yourself a good ol´ pat on the back for being a cool MF. A fresh combination of synth-punk and post -punk / experimental music. Taking the drum machine beat arrangements and synth-heavy patterns of wave/ post-punk, but using those as the base coat in a sound that's much more informed by experimental and avant-garde music. This record is so much more than a genre exercise or a deft melding of influences. It’s an unadjusted highly experimental and totally addictive synth wave album with hints of minimal post punk. The music ranges from dirgelike chants to ethereal pop to haunting ballads. It’s pure melancholic beauty from start to finish. Even a retro, toxic synth pop that balances on a thin line between punk rock and cold-wave electronics. DRAMACHINE offer us a challenging sound, combining both electronics and instrumentation for a truly stunning musical hybrid. Just when you think you have this band figured out you get blasted with a coldwave influence! Edgy and recklessly punky with a dash of synthpop dropped in for good measure. It’s a wild ride, but somehow it hangs together and sounds like music rather than just aimless noise-making.
