Out of stockWith their 1994 album Punk in Drublic, NOFX truly hit their stride. The quartet didn't change their approach at all -- at their core, they remain a heavy, speed-addled, hook-conscious post-hardcore punk group -- but their songwriting has improved, as has their attack. Prior to this record, they merely showed promise, but with Punk in Drublic they fulfilled their potential. Printed Inner sleeve. Limited to 2000 copies worldwide. Out of stockSince the release of their 2014 self-titled debut, The Interrupters have split their time between touring with the likes of The English Beat and Bad Religion and cranking out new material that shows off their irrepressible sensibility. So when the time came to record their sophomore album Say It Out Loud, the four-piece hit the studio with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong and fired off 14 new songs that both capture their frenetic energy and reveal a whole new level of boldness in their songwriting. “Over the past couple years we got to know ourselves so much better as a band, and that gave us a lot of room to really grow on this album,” notes frontwoman Aimee Interrupter, whose bandmates include guitarist Kevin Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, and drummer Jesse Bivona. Produced by Armstrong and recorded partly at his studio (as well as at Travis Barker’s Opra Studios), Say It Out Loud are a batch of feel-good songs proving The Interrupters’ unstoppably upbeat spirit. The Interrupters have forged a formidable bond that deeply informs their music. “Loyalty, family, friendship, and unity—with upstrokes,” says Kevin. “That pretty much sums up The Interrupters and what we are all about.” (Hellcat Records – 0529-1)

Out of stockSleeping With Ghosts was Placebo’s massively-selling 2003 album. Full of all their usual angst (including big singles like ‘The Bitter End’ and ‘English Summer Rain’) it saw Brian Molko dissect relationships by way of nasal whine over their usual brand of emo guitar racket. Gatefold, comes with printed inner sleeve containing lyrics. (Elevator Lady Ltd – 6711045, Elevator Lady Ltd – 5056167110453)

Και αυτό γιατί μου αρέσουν οι Faith No More, οι Clutch, οι Black Midi, οι Melvins, οι Unsane, οι Jesus Lizard, οι Oxbow, οι Arctic Monkeys. Out of stockMid 80s was a very exciting time for the US hardcore. Following in the footsteps of Minor Threat, Necros, 7 Seconds, MDC, Zero Boys,… hundreds of Hardcore Punk bands sprawled all over the US. Every city had their own scene or at least a band that people in the scene would associate that place with. For Milwaukee it was Die Kreuzen, for Minneapolis it was Husker Du, for Tulsa it was NOTA, for Raleigh Corrosion Of Conformity, for Phoenix JFA,… and for Albuquerque, New Mexico it was Jerry´s Kidz. This skate punk band that played so fast, as if their lives depended on it, ended up being the only mid 80s HC band from Albuquerque that managed to release a record. And what a record! Well Fed Society is a 5 song banger that packs a punch and travels at 100 mph, slowing down just enough to be able to attack you again with a new barrage. When the record clocks at under 7.30 minutes, you can hear on the recording one of the members exclaim “Is that it?!”, summarizing the essence of this record. It´s loud, fast and short, and everything they wanted to say takes no longer than to drink a cup of coffee. Musically, this would be down the alley for fans of Minor Threat, Stalag 13, Zero Boys, Circle Jerks,… It´s fast but melodic, well written and even better played. This truly is a mid 80s US hardcore classic! Released in 1984 and reissued on No Plan records. (No Plane Records)

Promises Comfort Fools was originally released on cd in 2007 by GSR Music. It's not that often that Hardcore bands reach the 10 year mark of existence, let alone surpass that milestone, and it's even more surprising when they do it with the original line up. London's infamous Knuckledust have done just that, retaining their integrity and values that they first started out with all those years ago and earning much respect from hardcore, punk and metal kids all over the world. Returning with their 3rd album for GSR, Knuckledust are as rowdy and violent as ever on their release "Promises Comfort Fools" keeping their signature sound of New York influenced hardcore as brutal as ever. There is nothing pretty about "Promises Comfort Fools", it's just pure venomous rage spitting bile from every pour and open wound. Pierre's vocals are as raw and brutal as ever spewing energy that is reflective of his live performance. The music is like a bar room brawl between two rival football firms. It's ugly, obnoxious and brutal, giving you no chance to breathe or back down, just inciting pure violence with every crack of the snare, every bludgeoning riff and every lyric unleashed. Pure unadulterated violence. That doesn't mean that Knuckledust haven't matured with their latest release. "Promises Comfort Fools" encompasses everything that Knuckledust is and ever was, yet still finds ways to inject new life into a style that can easily become stale. The level of groove matches the intensity of the crushing breakdowns and the hurricane like, built for circle pit fast parts as songs stand out from one another and infect the body and mind. Knuckledust have really outdone themselves and their relentless work ethic of touring the world shows through on "Promises Comfort Fools". Old and new fans of Knuckledust will love this album and if you like music that is tough as nails, hard, aggressive and uncompromising, then you will have comfort in knowing that there is at least one album in 2007 that has those qualities as it's foundations. For fans of: Agnostic Front, Madball, Cock Sparrer, Blood For Blood, Hatebreed LabeL: GSR Records

Kaaos were one of the foremost Finnish hardcore bands of the '80s along with RATTUS, TERVEET KADET, APPENDIX, BASTARDS and RIISTETYT. Formed in March 1980, they were one of the first hardcore punk bands in Finland to release a record, and though their line-up has changed frequently through the years, the band is somewhat active through the years. 1983, Kaaos went to the studio to record new material for a LP but that session was never released. Some of these tracks were later re-recorded for their 1984 “Ristiinnaulittu Kaaos” LP. Other tracks from this session were released in 1996 on the “Valtio Tuhoaa Ei Rakenna” 7”. Here in your hand is the original full-length record . . . how they were meant to be. Remastered for maximum ear damage. Label: Sonarize Records

Out of stockVERY LIMITED VINYL PRESSING. The artwork for A Mind Is A Terrible Thing has been updated by Ross Sewage (Impale, Exhume) and remastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering. CHRIST ON PARADE started in 1985, rising from the ashes of local bands Treason and Teenage Warning. Like much of the punk music at the time, they had an intensely political edge and very serious lyrical approach. The "Peace Punk" scene of the early ‘80s Bay Area -- typified by local bands like PLH, Treason, Trial, Crucifix, and Atrocity, and heavily influenced by British anarcho-punk -- had a formative influence on many bands in the scene including CHRIST ON PARADE. CHRIST ON PARADE coalesced into a unique hybrid of influences that could have only happened in the venue / living space that most of the members dwelled in, Emeryville's New Method warehouse. At that time, a lot of the Oakland punks were into the almost "prog-punk" stylings of bands like the Subhumans, Santa Rosa's Victim's Family, and the darkly paranoid spasms of England's Rudimentary Peni. Musicianship had become a virtue rather than a non-issue. Punk musicians around the Bay were beginning to put in the hours of practice. This confluence of sounds and ideas, and the fact that the East Bay was awash with LSD in those days, led to CHRIST ON PARADE's classic LP, A Mind Is A Terrible Thing. The emotional expression found in A Mind Is A Terrible Thing is not so much angry as agonized. The album is a demonology of the dark undercurrent beneath the relentlessly inane and superficial ‘80s. Noah Landis's feral vocals and grindstone guitar spearhead the LP with second guitarist Doug Kearney, bass player Malcolm Sherwood, and drummer Todd Kramer turning in an equal number of distinctive songs and performances . The result is brooding and angular, often catchy but never poppy. The production is raw, but this unvarnished quality serves the music rather than detracts from it. The songs feature more or less straight-ahead thrashers like "Kill Your Landlord," apocalyptic post-punk like "Riding The Flatland," and many examples of CHRIST ON PARADE's trademark, genre-defying hellscapes like "Power" and "Teach Your Children Well." CHRIST ON PARADE's headlined the first show at Berkeley’s 924 Gilman Street, the venue that would usher in a new era of poppier punk and safer spaces. The band continued for a couple years, going through member changes and releasing more great material before finally breaking up in 1989. As America's current political and cultural climate goes from bad to worse, A Mind Is A Terrible Thingsounds better, deeper and more relevant with each passing day. -- Jesse Michaels (Neuroot Records)
