Limited Black & White 'Quad' (ie. quartered) vinyl reissue of the classic debut studio album by Broken Bones, the ex-Discharge speed-metal punk band, who influenced Metallica and an army of other hard-core punk bands.
Broken Bones were formed in 1983 by the Discharge twin brothers of Bones (guitar) and Tezz (bass) and were joined by Baz (drums) and Nobby (vocals). From the 'Potteries' area, Stoke-On-Trent, they first produced two singles, Decapitated and Crucifix, followed by this album 'Dem Bones' – all fast and furious anthems and UK indie chart Top 10 entries.
The album, originally released in 1984, was produced by Clay Records' Mike Stone who had also produced Discharge. Along the way, band membership developed, but always featuring the distinctive guitar of Bones. Tezz later went to the USA, where he played with UK Subs, Ministry, and many others. Both brothers are currently in a reformed Discharge. (Fall Out Records)
  • Re-Issue of the stellar 1986 album from pioneering hardcore band, Social Unrest! Classic second album from one of the leading forces of the Bay Area early HC Thrash scene! Limited edition red vinyl. "Part of the lively Northern California punk rock scene of the '80s, Social Unrest were a hardcore outfit whose abundant energy and defiant anti-authoritarian stance set a standard followed by many of their peers. Social Unrest were formed in Hayward, California in 1980, with the initial lineup featuring Creetin K-os on vocals, Doug Logic and Danny Norwood on guitars, John Vollick on bass, and Mark Monti on drums. After making a name for themselves with their hard-hitting live shows, they released their first EP in 1981, a three-song 7" titled Making Room for Youth that was produced by East Bay Ray of the Dead Kennedys. The 7" was released by local indie label Infrared Records, while Social Unrest's next recording project would be released on their own Libertine Records imprint, the 12" EP Rat in a Maze, which was also produced by East Bay Ray. The band toured in support of the release, and also contributed the song "Their Mistakes" to the influential hardcore compilation Not So Quiet on the Western Front, which was compiled by the punk fanzine Maximum Rock N Roll in association with Alternative Tentacles Records. By the time Social Unrest released their first full-length album, 1985's SU-2000, the group had a new lineup; K-os, Logic, and Vollick were out, and vocalist Jason Honea, guitarist James Brogan, and bassist Ray Moses Vegas were in. A second album followed in 1986, Before the Fall, which was released by Libertine Records in the United States, while Konkurrel picked it up for distribution in Europe. Social Unrest launched another American tour after the album's release, and played Europe for the first time in 1987; that same year, they also appeared on the anti-apartheid benefit compilation Viva Umkhonto. In 1988, the band dropped album number three, Now and Forever, which introduced new bassist Ron Isa and included a guest appearance from original vocalist Creetin K-os. Ironically, Now and Forever proved to be the final studio album from Social Unrest's original run; the band broke up by the end of 1988, with the live album Mental Breakdown (recorded at a 1987 concert in Wolfsburg, Germany) issued as a farewell gesture." Jason Honea moved to Germany to pursue his education, and he formed a new band, Happy After Ever. Meanwhile, James Brogan joined the Bay Area pop-punk outfit Samiam. In 1995, Social Unrest's recorded catalog was reissued on a pair of compilations from New Red Archives, Complete Studio Recordings, Vol. 1 and Complete Studio Recordings, Vol. 2. In 1996, Danny Norwood and Mark Monti reunited Social Unrest, recording a new studio album, New Lows, which featured Creetin K-os and Jason Honea taking turns on bass and vocals, and was produced by Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. The group played occasional live shows, and released a 7" vinyl EP titled Social Unrest in 2009, with another 7", Songs for Sinners, following in 2010. In 2017, Social Unrest and New Red Archives teamed up to release a new vinyl edition of Before the Fall. (New Red Archives Records)
  • Canadian Speed/Thrash at its finest! Long time in the works, this retrospective of early AGGRESSION recordings (1984-1986) collects all their demos and promo-tapes released before their debut album “The full treatment“, and adds a bonus CD with a complete, good sounding live set recorded in Quebec, 2/2/1986. Quoting the liner notes by Denis ‘Sasquatch’ included in this anthology: “Five metalheads playing their hearts out without any musical boundaries or restrictions. We were able to do whatever we wanted. And not only musically, we had no rules with an absolute disrespect for laws and society which got us in trouble quite a few times.” Right there in those magical years when bands like Voivod, Razor, Sacrifice, Piledriver were starting to pave the way and Canada was hosting a titanic Metal event such as the World War III Festival, AGGRESSION were spawning their early Thrashing outrages proving to be equally intense and powerful as the previously mentioned pioneers. And to keep up the F.O.A.D. tradition of maniacal attention for detail, this release comes with a gatefold jacket and a massive 36 page fanzine styled booklet with a huge selection of AGGRESSION photos (some exclusive, never seen before ones), flyers, early interviews and memorabilia of all sorts. Red vinyl limited to 100 copies. (F.O.A.D. Records)

  • Διαθέσιμο για προπαραγγελία. Αναμένεται στις 21/01/2021. Since their founding in 2015, Swedish post-punk band Viagra Boys have made a name for themselves burning up stages around the world. There's a little Iggy Pop spit and seethe, a David Yow drunken stumble, and a bite of Nick Cave's haunted bark. Add a dash of motorik groove, a pinch of post-punk grime, and a dose of no wave howl. For every gruff and gritty croak in the outfit's catalog, they come back with a pair of bongos, squared-off synths, and a squonky saxophone, with songs that deftly lay waste to society's normalization of toxic masculinity, racism, misogyny, classism, and self-obsession. Viagra Boys' Sebastian Murphy dreams about everyone hating his guts. A lot. "I kept having this recurring nightmare where my mom was crying and my friends were all pissed off at me," he recalls, almost reverently. The band's new album, Welfare Jazz, doesn't bargain with the anxiety in that defeated feeling, but rather a boiling certainty that nothing and no one is absolute. There's plenty of blame to go around, and things are just a lot more interesting when you admit that you're not always going to be nice, you're not always going to pick the right words in a fist-fight. So why not keep moving forward, swaying and strutting into the night. (YEAR0001 Records)
  • Long out of print and never reissued, this year FUTURISMO invite you to snake through the chaos with a Deluxe limited edition of DEVO’s 1990 album – Smooth Noodle Maps! An underrated gem, Smooth Noodle Maps might oddly be the most anticipated of all DEVO’s reissues. It’s title being a direct reference to the brain was perhaps an irony to fans left underwhelmed at the time, yet over the years this album has become warmly regarded a hardcore fan favourite, especially among those who were there to witness this record mirror an end to the excessive Eighties. Whether you’re a true believer or have just come to your senses, Smooth Noodle Maps will show you the way. Inspired by the concept of chaos theory, a theme inherent in de-evolution itself, Smooth Noodle Maps paralleled the bands own dissolution of order, yet the albums tight conceptual elements (the artwork featured animations of chaos motion developed by an actual laboratory) and arthouse pop make this a record hard not to love. Though it may have foreshadowed a hiatus for DEVO, Smooth Noodle Maps is a joyous enigma, a record demonstrating a stronghold of captivating tunes such as ‘Stuck In A Loop’ and “A Change Is Gonna Cum’, undoubtably hits in another time and space, whilst simultaneously playing off the arch humour and observation found on ’Jimmy’ and ‘Post Post-Modern Man’, all dusted with the intelligent foresight always expected of the band. This year, FUTURISMO give every truly discerning DEVO fan the out of print release they’ve been been craving, the follow up to last years Total Devo Deluxe – a limited pressing of Smooth Noodle Maps Deluxe Deluxe. Each gatefold lp set includes 2×180g limited edition coloured vinyl in the choice of ‘Brain Drain’, ‘Postmodern Chaos’ or ‘Donut Glaze’ as well as a 2xCD gatefold digipak version. Included alongside the original album are remixes, demos and unheard tracks unearthed from the archives. The records come in a die-cut gatefold sleeve that enables an interchangeable cover, it contains a huge double sided poster with unseen pictures and new liner notes by Gerald V. Casale, plus a sheet of cut-out finger spinners. DEVO’s Smooth Noodle Maps Deluxe is an essential addition to the collection of any spud stuck in a loop!
    • ‘Donut Glaze’ coloured vinyl (Clear Marbled with White)
    • ’Brain Drain’ coloured vinyl (1 Neon pink and 1 Neon Green)

    24.00 incl. tax
DEATH, the heavy metal institution founded, realized, and helmed by legendary guitarist Chuck Schuldiner, released the Individual Thought Patterns album (the follow-up to their watershed Human release) in 1993. Expectations were high following Human, but Schuldiner proved once again that he could rise to any occasion. Individual Thought Patterns further honed the forward-thinking and progressive direction birthed with Human, and included “The Philosopher”; arguably the best song to ever come from the world of extreme metal and to this date the most widely-recognized. DEATH's legendary 1987 debut Scream Bloody Gore is more than just an untouchable album - upon its release, it was positively genre-creating. Scream Bloody Gore founded the quintessential death metal sound, with more tormented riffs, screams, and leads than the world had ever imagined, and established Chuck Schuldiner's inimitable phrasing and songwriting style as the most singular voice in the burgeoning genre. Today, the album is viewed unanimously as one of the all-time most important cornerstones of death metal. As the final chapter in Relapse's comprehensive DEATH reissue series, Scream Bloody Gore will now receive the deluxe reissue treatment on a wide variety of formats including 2CD, Limited Edition 3CD, LP, Deluxe 2xLP Boxset, and cassette versions. Like the preceding DEATH reissues, the deluxe reissue of Scream Bloody Gore has been meticulously remastered from the original tapes by Alan Douches (Death, Mastodon, Nile) and includes a plethora of bonus content, including previously unreleased recordings and rehearsal demos, super-expanded packaging, and brand-new extensive liner notes from former DEATH drummer / Autopsy founder Chris Reifert, Sepultura's Max Cavalera, and original Scream Bloody Gore producer Randy Burns. • Anna von Hausswolff’s new album All Thoughts Fly via Southern Lord. Here in solo instrumental mode, the entire record consists of just one instrument, the pipe organ, and represents absolute liberation of the imagination. All Thoughts Fly radiates a melancholic beauty, and is distinguished by fluid transitions of contrasting elements; calmness and drama, harmony and dissonance, much like the place that inspires the music. (Southern Lord Records)
  • Newly remastered from the original analogue tapes, Motörhead’s ‘On Parole’ is to be re-released on 9 October as part of National Album Day. Available as a single CD and double-LP, it features six bonus tracks that include a previously unreleased original version of ‘Iron Horse / Born to Lose” and a previously unreleased demo version of ‘Fools’. Other bonus tracks include ‘On Parole’, ‘City Kids’, ‘Motörhead’ and ‘Leaving Here’. There are new liner notes written by founder member Lucas Fox, the band’s original drummer, and features rarely seen photographs and archive content. It will be released with a rare Canadian version of the cover artwork and is the only Motörhead album that features the original line-up of the band (Lemmy on vocals and bass, Larry Wallis on guitar and vocals, and Lucas Fox on drums). Lucas Fox features on all the tracks, including those that Phil Taylor added his drums to. Originally completed in 1976, ‘On Parole’ was the first-ever recorded material by Motörhead, but was released in 1979 after it was originally held-back by then record label United Artists. The album proved to be the starting point of one of the most important bands in rock history, these early recording sessions set Motörhead’s uncompromising sound and became a turning point for Lemmy who would now become front and centre of his own band and, unintentionally, one of the most iconic, influential and celebrated figures in rock music. ‘On Parole’ was eventually released in 1979 becoming the band’s fourth ‘released’ album. The album proved to have a massive impact on British musical culture like very few albums have ever had and became the bridging point from rock to heavy metal and then to punk. With Lemmy having been sacked from space/progressive rock legends Hawkwind, he once again started to hang out with old friend Lucas Fox who shared a multitude of passions and beliefs, and from this Motörhead was born. Purposefully loud, aggressive and provocative, their songs were short, sharp, shocks instead of songs with 20-minute guitar solos. They were unrelenting to their audience... and they loved it. • DOOM | total doom | 2xLP

    24.00 incl. tax
Doom is an English crust punk band from Birmingham, England, formed in 1987. Despite its short existence (though Doom is active on the live scene as of late), the band is considered pivotal in the rise of crust punk movement. They recorded for Peaceville Records and are cited as an early precursor to the grindcore style of heavy metal music, & are often compared with seminal act Discharge. Doom were also a favorite of BBC Radio DJ John Peel. In its formative years, Peaceville had heard about Doom through word of mouth and asked if they were interested in contributing songs to the first compilation, "A Vile Peace". Doom went into the studio to record their first demo on 28 August 1987. Three songs were recorded, two of which appeared on "A Vile Peace". On the strength of this first recording Peaceville asked Doom if they would record a full LP for them, which they agreed to do. In Feburary 1988, Doom went into the "Rich Bitch" studios and recorded 21 songs for the album, "War Crimes". "Total Doom" was the band's second album, originally released in 1989, & was a collection of the "Police Bastard" EP, "War Crimes" LP, plus the "Bury the Debt - not the Dead" split release tracks. This edition of Total Doom is presented on double 180gm heavyweight black vinyl with gatefold sleeve. (Peaceville Records)

Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell is the fourth studio album by the American band Social Distortion. It continues the melding of country and rockabilly influences with punk that began two albums before with the album Prison Bound. Clear influences include Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. The album also marks the first time that a Social Distortion line-up had not changed in three consecutive studio recordings. The American punk rock band Social Distortion formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. Frontman of the band is vocalist, guitar player and main songwriter Mike Ness. Since its inception the band lineup has been a virtual revolving-door of talent, with many members coming and going with the only constant member being Ness. Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell is available as a limited edition of 2.500 individually numbered copies on purple vinyl.

  • AVENGERS | avengers | LP

    25.00 incl. tax
In the late '70s, The Avengers established themselves as one of the US's preeminent punk bands. Fusing incisive guitar hooks, explosive rhythms and adolescent venom, the group forged some of the most in-your-face songs of the era. Their live shows were legendary, playing up and down the West Coast and even blowing Sex Pistols off the stage at the latter's final performance. As Byron Coley writes in the liner notes, "Of the best bands of San Francisco's first wave in 1977, The Avengers were by far the coolest and youngest sounding. They roared without irony, as though this were indeed Year Zero (and, for a moment, it was) with history being overwritten by the new. The honesty of their belief was carried by their sound. And it was convincing!" Originally released in 1983, four years after the band's dissolution, The Avengers' self-titled LP is often referred to as "The Pink Album" for its magenta-hued cover design. Frontwoman Penelope Houston's iconic voice and razor-sharp lyrics resonate on anthems "We Are The One" and "The American In Me," while penetrating ballads like "Corpus Christi" reveal a truly out-of-body euphony. The Pink Album remains The Avengers' definitive statement – collecting their classic Dangerhouse EP, sessions recorded with the Pistols' Steve Jones and a half-dozen revelatory demos. While much has been written about The Avengers in the past three decades, rock critic Greil Marcus puts it succinctly, "The word I always come back to is mystical, and that remains almost theirs alone." Now Nomeansno fans the world over finally have the chance to enjoy the album in its full gatefold glory. The tenth album from Nomeansno was, and still is, a groundbreaking exploration of social and political lyrical statements and post-punk musical workouts. Back in the day, confused people liked to call this “jazz-punk” or “jazzcore” because it involved more than three chords and shock! horror! time changes! and OMG! slow parts! Gatefold, 180gr vinyl.
