Glorior Belli can now be considered with no doubt as one of the best band from France along with masters such as Blut Aus Nord and Deathspell Omega: people who have no fear to experiment with other genres, although in a bigger way than them. Glue didn’t really have to get better, but they have. With barely 25 minutes of recorded music to their name—spread across a demo, an EP and a tour tape—our appetite for the band’s distinctive take on hardcore had hardly been sated. However, their latest foray ups the ante in all respects, not only pushing against the edges of their sound in the ways you might expect when a band releases its first 12” record, but also by taking the things they already did well even further. Listening to Glue has always felt like you’re standing next to a ticking time bomb, but something about this latest recording with its noisy, everything-in-the-red mix makes the band sound even more explosive, and I pity the soul who tries to sit still while this thing is on the turntable. However, once you get past the immediate, visceral thrill that this record inspires, you’ll be able to appreciate how Glue are expanding upon the primal beats and weirdly circular, almost psychedelic take on hardcore riffing that has made them stick out from the pack since the beginning. “Flowers of Friendship,” with its bright, major key main riff, smashes together Glue’s savage hardcore with a traditional oi! vibe to interesting results, and the closing track is built around a hard-driving rock riff that sounds like it was lifted straight off of an old Judas Priest record. Glue don’t leave hardcore behind with this record, but they don’t let it limit them either, proving that this 35-year-old framework still has the capacity to inspire music as relevant and as exciting as anything the genre has produced so far. The third full-length studio album from Goatsnake- :”Black Age Blues” is an instant classic, with each one of the nine songs (11 on the 2xLp version) an anthem, and each of the four band members on top form. Everything is magnified, Pete Stahl’s vocals have never sounded so soulfully deep, the rhythm section comprised of Greg Rogers on drums and new bass player Scott Renner are the driving force on each track, and Greg Anderson’s riffs are heavier than ever before. Appearing on the album intro ‘to Another River To Cross’ is acoustic guitar courtesy of David Pajo (Slint, Aerial M, Papa M), this track also contains previously released recordings from ‘The River’ by Goatsnake. Piano is played by Mathias Schneeberger and Petra Haden contributes violin and vocals. Another welcome addition to the album, across multiple tracks are brilliant soulful backing vocals by Dem Preacher’s Daughters – Wendy Moten, Gale Mayes and Andrea Merrit. There inclusion on the proceedings evokes a reverent gospel choir aesthetic that intuitively accentuates the heavy darkness laid down by the band. Behind the controls is grammy award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, who was responsible for the engineering and production of the last Goatsnake full-length album: Flower of Disease. Over the last 15+ years Nick has gone on to work with seminal artists such as Rush, Alice In Chains, Mastodon and Ghost. United again, he and the band are sure to serve a menacing cut of the time-honored, ultra-heavy rock they are infamous for. Black Age Blues is familiar but nothing here is a repetition of what we’ve heard before, as Goatsnake continue to refine the time-honored dark-bluesy doom-rock that they are infamous for, surpassing even the highest of expectations. Goatsnake was formed in 1996 by guitarist Greg Anderson (Engine Kid), vocalist Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool) , and the mega rhythm section of Greg Rogers (drums) Guy Pinhas (bass) from underground heavy legends the Obsessed. Their now-classic debut album appropriately entitled: I (one) was originally released by Mans Ruin records in 1999. 8 songs that gracefully combine monolithic, Sabbathy riffs with soulful vocals to create a monumental album. After Artistic Decline, another band from Los Angeles, active between 1981 and 1982. The band released the original New Lottery 7" on Bemisbrain records famous for releasing Modern Warfare releases as well as Hell Comes To Your House compilation albums. The band recorded another song intended for another release, but it never came out, so we included it on this 7". You can also find an essay on the band and the LA punk scene of the day, band photos, flyers and lyrics, all that as part of a 12 page booklet! Great tuneful punk rock classic. Jed is the second studio album by Goo Goo Dolls, originally released in 1989 by Metal Blade Records. It was the band's first album in which John Rzeznik sang vocals for some of the tracks; the majority of the songs are sung by Robby Takac, with Rzeznik taking over for two ("Up Yours" and "James Dean"). The album was named after painter Jed Jackson, who was Robby Takac's art teacher at Medaille College and who painted the cover artwork, which is entitled "Arkansas Sunset". (Metal Blade Records)

In 1997 the hardcore scene was in dire need of a sense of humor. Four Vegan Straightedge dudes from Washington, D.C. (where it all began) stepped up to the challenge. Good Clean Fun was formed. They set out on a three-year non-stop tour to spread positivism to the whole planet as only hardcore band can do. Two 7”s and two full-lengths later and shows in 35 countries, from Austria to Australia, from New England to England, from the beaches of Hawaii to the fjords of Norway (and so on) the message was delivered. In 2002, the band returned home and released a Discography CD on Equal Vision Records. At the end of 1982, Ian MacKaye entered the studio to record "government issue" and, in just one day, they came up with 20 tracks, most of them issued as the "boycott stabb" album. It has since been reissued on a number of different labels and formats, but after coming across the master tapes and hearing the songs that had been left off, Dischord thought it would be cool to release the complete session on a proper full-length. The vinyl was re-cut and re-mastered in 2010 and comes with a digital download card. Label: Dischord Records
