Recorded in Hollywood in a mere three days at the end of 1982 - oddly enough aided by the presence of Joe Strummer who was in the studio the first day of recording- 'Defy The System' is California punk group Anti's second album, considered by most to be at least as astonishing as their debut. Partly played by John Carthy from Alley Cats on drums, and originally released on the New Underground label, this was the second and last chapter in Anti's history, right before singer Danny Dean went on to form his later band Easter with Social Distortion's Mike Ness on guitar. This is pure early '80s California punk rock in the vein of Bad Religion or T.S.O.L. An absolute masterpiece now represented on vinyl, with original artwork and insert, for the first time in 35 years.

Part of the late '70s/early '80s HC/punk explosion out of the Los Angeles area, where bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minutemen, and Bad Religion originated from, Anti formed in 1979 by a then teenage Danny Phillips, better known as Danny Dean, who was the bassist/guitarist and first original vocalist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member throughout multiple lineup changes during the past 40 years. Their 1982 debut album, 'I Don't Want To Die In Your War', was recorded and mixed by legendary producer and sound engineer for Black Flag and Descendents, Spot. It is a major example of California hardcore from the early '80s. Despite having been completely underrated, Anti's 1982 debut paved the way for a lot of California punk to come. Available again for the first time after almost four decades on its original format, with its original artwork and complete with insert thanks to Radiation Records.

Out of stockThe brand new studio album from the UK punk rock icons who inspired everyone from Metallica to Rancid, the ever-defiant Anti-Nowhere League! Indomitable frontman and founder Animal leads the band through 13 superb new tracks including a heartfelt ode to UK Subs singer Charlie Harper (“Uncle Charlie”) and the soon-to-be barroom classic “God Bless Alcohol!” The band will be hitting the road as a part of the hugely popular Punk Rock Bowling Festival along with Buzzcocks, Millencolin, Descendents, and more! (Papagájův Hlasatel Records – PH 257)

Out of stockPNV Records reissue of the debut album by the Anti-Nowhere League, originally issued on WXYZ Records in 1982! Despite the obnoxious band’s reputation and the legal persecution that the group faced due to its obscene lyrics, the album remained No1 for many weeks in the independent charts and it became from its release day an instant UK Punk Rock Classic! Loaded with more piss and vinegar than one can almost handle in a single album, this is what most people think of when they think of classic Punk, the kind of Punk that frightened the squares, and parents and annoyed the authorities. The kind of album that throw on at a party and the house is sure to be destroyed by nights end. Label: Puke n Vomit

Out of stockIf you're a ravenous consumer of New York hardcore obscurities like us, then you probably pored over tape trading lists late at night and wondered if Antidote's "Nazi Youth" demo actually existed, or was just a figment of tape traders' imaginations, or was (more realistically) just a bad dub of the 7". Well lo and behold, when we were tasked with re-releasing Antidote's classic "Thou Shalt Not Kill" 7" EP, we asked the band to dig into the vaults for a little something extra to pad things out into a 12", and they came up in spades! In addition to the legendary 8-song EP, you get the band's first 7-song demo recorded in 1982 at Jerry Williams' infamous 171A Studios, plus two songs recorded shortly thereafter for the lost Bad Brains Records compilation, and a previously uncirculated 12-song live set from 1983. The early demos feature original Antidote singer Jeff White (plus future Prong/Danzig axeman Tommy Victor on bass) and show the natural evolution from the band's punky roots to the well-oiled hardcore machine they became on their vinyl debut. The live set features "Thou Shalt Not Kill" howler Louie Rivera and contains several lost tracks that never made it to the studio. That's 29 tracks total of classic New York hardcore, 21 of which have never been heard anywhere before! The LP also includes a 16-page, 12"x12" booklet containing photos, flyers and extensive liner notes by guitarist/founding member Robb "Nunzio" Ortiz, plus a reproduction of the band's original sticker design. Pressing of 1000 copies. Track Listing : "Thou Shalt Not Kill" 7" 01. Life As One 02. Nazi Youth 03. Real Deal 04. Foreign Job-Lot 05. Zero Mentality 06. Got Me On The Line 07. Die At War 08. Witness the sonic evolution of ANTiSEEN with these tracks, originally released on their mid-80s EPs and now all together for the first time on vinyl. Newly remastered and with previously unreleased photography, this is the Kings of Destructo-Rock at their most primal!! According to Jeff Clayton´s words: "What you have here is a collection of the earliest releases of a band made up mostly of small southern town guys trying to make a name for themselves in the “big city”. With little help or guidance (with the exception of a few very influential cases) we created what became OUR sound and OUR attitude that would stay with us for four decades. Come hear the DAWN OF ANTISEEN." Limited to 600 units. For fans of GG ALLIN, DWARVES, BORED!... (Bang! Records)

Voltage records delivers another great re-edition of Nordic noise. The unjustly neglected band that brought this great six-song single to the world, If you're a fan of Kaaos, Riistetyt, Mellaka or Svart Framtid, you'll be thrilled. As is customary at Voltage, we do our re-issues with the utmost fidelity to the original, and here we've thought of everything, from the engraved lyrics on the record, the weight of the paper, or even such madness as the custom-made adhesive wings that bind the cover to make everything look like it's '85. There's also a limited edition version available on clear vinyl in special packaging. The re-issue was released with the band's permission. (High Voltage Records)

Out of stockIn 1991, APATIA is already a well-recognized band in Poland, regularly playing shows and often appearing in fanzines. Ready to take the next step, they work hard new and phenomenal material that is already presented at their shows. Before the band enters the studio for the first time, new songs appear on the "Live" cassette (also known as "Literature and art in the fight against fascism") and record a demo of 11 songs, which will then be used as promo material only and send to potential publishers - Pietia from QQRYQ and Uszaty from NNNW. This never published and unknown demo of the band is now being released on vinyl exactly 30 years after its recordings. Documents the band just before recording the first album for Nikt Nic Nie Wie. APATIA of the beginning of the 90s it was an absolutely new quality in the local hardcore scene with its own characteristic style and great lyrics. For the next 20 years, we were able to enjoy the work of these guys who created one of the strongest pillars in the history of Hardcore Punk in Poland. Demo 1991 LP comes out with the anthology of the fanzine "Greencore", published in Poznan by members of Apatia - Bulwa and Matol, in the years 1989-1990 (all in Polish!). During this period, four issues were published, which - as the name suggests, combined the subject of HC (interviews, reviews, reports) with ecology and also strongly promoted vegetarianism and took up current socio-political and anti-Nazi topics. The zine published columns and comics. "Greencore" has published interviews with the bands ORANGE WORLD, S.K.T.C., KANADA, STRAWBERRY, A.P.S.F., BLOCKADE, AGENT 86, INDIREKT, AHIMSA, DER PANIK TREIBRIEGEL and ASSASSINS OF GOD. This anthology reflects the spirit of the young DIY scene of that period - enthusiasm and activism on many levels. Graphic design of the album cover and anthology: Jaroslaw Skladanek. Mastering Smok (Studio As One). One-time pressing of 309 copies. (Refuse Records)

Out of stockOne of the most well known of Portland’s fertile post punk influenced scene, Arctic Flowers follows up their well received debut EP and split with Spectres. Their sound builds on the foundation of UK anarchopunk meeting their previous work with such bands as Signal Lost and The Observers. This 12-inch has 8 songs leaning more towards the hardcore end of the spectrum while throwing in the occasional Mob influenced bit of melodic punk. (Sabotage Records)

Out of stockWho knew it was possible to hear in monochrome? Arctic Monkeys’ 5th studio album is a wickedly seductive record, draped in black leather and wielding a switch-blade. Alex Turner and co. had spent years shapeshifting from pointed indie, to sun-stroked desert rock to whimsical psychedelic pop. It wasn’t until AM that they created a sound so assured and so spellbinding. The thick grooves underpin the album. Unfaltering drumbeats and dark bass-lines dripping with fuzz leave you with a sense of dread and paranoia. That chest rattling dread associated with the likes of Black Sabbath. The haunted atmosphere is compounded by Jamie Cook’s guitar, flexing its muscles over the hip swaying rhythm. Even through the familiar Motown swing of 'Snap Out Of It', the bubbling G-Funk of 'Why Do You Only Call Me When You’re High' or the Velvet Underground melodies on 'Mad Sounds', you feel violated. Turner’s sinister overtones are palpable. His voice is demonically possessed. On songs like 'R U Mine?', 'One For The Road' and 'I Wanna Be Yours' he is joined by a chorus of fellow doomed souls. His fresh-faced cheek is dead. He retains his humour but the lines linger for longer, your hair stands up straighter and just like Turner, you can’t help yourself crawling back. AM is darker, sexier and better than anything Arctic Monkeys have done before or since. Play it after midnight. Turn off the lights. Watch your back. Label: Domino – WIGLP317 Barcode: 887828031719

Out of stockArma X burst onto the hardcore scene in 2019 with a demo that made people take notice from day one, seemingly coming out of nowhere, along with a whole host of new bands from Madrid. Taking the best of heavy hardcore styles, whether it’s Cleveland Straight Edge or NYHC Beatdown, Arma X are making it their own with tunes breathing new life into the genre in their debut album, Violento Ritual. Not for the faint of heart, the band are also redefining just how many dive bombs and breakdowns you can have in one song thanks to guitarists Yoshi and Rodri, and we are here for it! Vocalist Leo sings in Spanish, because there will be no appeasing to the English speaking hardcore masses here and rightly so. The result is vocals that just get taken to another level, delivered with Leo’s huge rasping voice not too dissimilar to Integrity’s Dwid, commanding over what sounds like a straight up war zone. Lyrically Arma X rock about the Straight Edge, naturally, as a true form of outsider behaviour within punk and also dark moments of anger in one’s personal life through occult imagery. Meanwhile drummer Tania and bassist Iker waste no time in pummelling out beats you want to smash heads to in the pit. The group are all hard working members of the Madrid hardcore community keeping their local scene vibrant and inclusive for all, reflected in the band themselves. Thanks to that hard work, along with many others from this new generation, the Madrid scene has been growing from strength to strength for the past 3 years. Arma X are part of this new wave of bands and DIY ethic that is selling out local only shows and making a community that stands strong. XXX (Quality Control Records)
