• Before Green Day, Operation Ivy, and Lookout Records put the East Bay’s burgeoning punk scene on the map, a trio of Berkeley kids were reinventing the genre with music that was melodic but full of feedback, and a singer who sounded like he gargled glass. Crimpshrine's debut EP was Lookout’s fourth release, followed by an album, a second EP, and a slew of split singles and compilation tracks before the band imploded in 1989 after a ridiculous two-and-a-half-month tour in a Ford Pinto hatchback. Formed around teenage binary stars Jeff Ott and Aaron Cometbus, Crimpshrine went through a series of lineups in their four-year run, utilizing future Tilt and Go Sailor bassists Pete Rypins and Paul Curran, and briefly including second guitarist Idon Bryant. Not overtly political, their fiery brand of introspective punk touched on homelessness, teenage pregnancy, drug use, friendship, isolation, and a grimy sort of romance. Duct Tape Soup is their Lookout-rejected 1988 debut LP that was parsed out to various compilations and split 7”s before being recompiled for Larry Livermore’s punk institution in 1992. After Lookout’s unfortunate demise at the turn of the century, the album went out of print. In cooperation with the band, we’ve remastered the recordings and freshened up the accompanying booklet to make the perfect legacy edition of this ’80s punk classic. • Puke n Vomit Records presents a reissue of Pure Hell sole full-length album, recorded in 1978 but not released until 2006. In 1974, on the streets of Philadelphia, a band unlike any other was formed. They called themselves Pretty Poison. They had a sound so ahead of its time that the music industry was not yet ready for it. They coupled the punk sound of the New York bands of the time with a harder, faster heavy metal edge unheard before. Their unique sound was a result of Kenny Gordon's berserk choreography and Preston Morris's needling guitar riffs, while Steel and Spider added synchronized barrage with no nonsense execution to the arsenal. Inspired by the famous fuel-altered dragster, they changed their name to Pure Hell in 1975. Soon after, they moved to New York City where they played with bands like the New York Dolls, Sid Vicious, Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, The Dead Boys, The Stimulators, Richard Hell, The Germs, The Nuns, The Cramps and more. In 1978 Pure Hell headlined a tour of the UK, with bands like the UK Subs, Wilko Johnson, Vermilion & the Aces and more opening for them. While in the UK, their only original record was released. It was a single released by their manager Curtis Knight on his label, Golden Sphinx Records. The songs on the single were "These Boots Were Made for Walking" and "No Rules." The single charted in the top 40 charts in the UK. During the same year, a full length album was recorded but was never released. It did not surface again for 28 years. Label: Puke n Vomit Records

  • ROTTEN MIND are releasing their debut album "i'm alone even with you". It's no shocker that the band who is named after a JAY REATARD song got an american styled garage-rock vibe. The 12 tracks album is held together with attitude, punk-rock and melodies that combines everything into an explosive garage-rock sound. ROTTEN MIND is a typical punk band, restless youth with a background in the hardcore-punk band AGENT ATTITUDE. The band is on an everlasting search away from their everyday boredom, continue living fast and in chaos to keep those voices out of the head. "i'm alone even with you" was written under a short period of time that gives the album a special and concentrated feeling. Label: Lövely Records

  • Influential Swedish hardcore band Refused were formed in 1991 by vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarists Jon Brännström and Kristofer Steen, bassist Magnus Höggren, and drummer David Sandström. Debuting in 1993 with the EP This Is the New Deal, the group issued the full-length This Just Might Be…the Truth later that same year. The Everlasting EP followed in 1994, and in 1995 Refused returned with another EP, Refused Loves Randy. After 1996’s Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent, they issued the EP Rather Be Dead; in the wake of completing 1998’s classic The Shape of Punk to Come, Refused disbanded, unable to reconcile their anarchist leanings with a career in music. How many hardcore, let alone metal, bands exceed all previous efforts on their third LP? Some might argue that ‘Feel The Darkness’ was Poison Idea’s prime. You could present ‘Master Of Puppets’ and ‘Reign In Blood’, if you’re so inclined. Let’s face it, these are a dying breed of exceptions to the rule. And yet, like an icepick in the eye socket of logic, here stands Foreseen with ‘Untamed Force’. In the landmine ridden field that is crossover, where bands can all too easily get it so wrong, Foreseen not only survive the death sentence of their sophomore record “Grave Danger” (2017), but head out on a blunt force killing spree. ‘Untamed Force’ indeed. Rarely has a record title been more fitting. Vocalist Mirko Nummelin sounds more pissed off than ever, 12 years on. Drummer Mårten Gustafsson’s arms and feet generate enough power to make Finland energy self-sufficient. And finally, pushing the band over the edge, separating Foreseen from us feeble bastards, we have new member Ville Valavuo joining Jaakko Hietakangas to form what is arguably the scene’s deadliest six string tag-team. Foreseen’s power is untamed but at the same time borne from hard work, a love for the craft and their musical community, and absolutely no excuses. Dig in, endure, stomp out, shoot to kill. Foreseen are for headbangers who haven’t been brainwashed by click tracks and digital recordings. Foreseen are for punks who can deal with a synth intro and harmonised solos. In 2022, ‘Untamed Force’ is the guiding principle that can inspire, but not be replicated, by the Kings of Hardcore Thrash. (Quality Control Records)
  • SLANT | 1집 | LP

SLANT are back with 17 minutes of pure bristling rage. Corrosive hardcore music for the pit AND the pendulum recalling the stomping catchy vibes of recent luminaries like BOSTON STRANGLER or VIOLENT REACTION but channeling back to previous 80s hitters in the YOUTH OF TODAY/MINOR THREAT vein too. All with an absolutely visceral feminine, ahem... slant to it. Ha, I couldn't resist that one. This band is a shining light in the South Korean scene and is anxious to get out in the world once the world happens again. We can't wait for you to see that. 400 copies on black, 100 on translucent pink and 100 on blue marble 150gr vinyl housed in a 24pt reverse board jacket with insert and download card inside. Recorded by Tits Belair. Mastered by Will Killingsworth. Photography by Kenta & Big Chang. Label: Iron Lung Records
  • Oakland punk legends Annihilation Time play furious hardcore that builds its sound on the foundation laid down from 1980's California bands like Black Flag, Aggression, and Bl'ast. Formed in 2001 by guitarist Graham Clise, vocalist Fred Hammer, drummer Jamie Sanitate and bassist Chris Grande, Annihilation Time released its debut LP in 2002 and then proceeded to shake up the scene with its rampaging live show, honed by multiple tours of the U.S. and Europe. The band's second release, II, originally released in 2005, stands as an American power punk rock classic, blending together the riffs of Thin Lizzy and Motorhead with the snarl of Spazz and Siege. The sound Annihilation Time created - snotty psychedelic hardcore punk fueled by booze, Vans Old Skools, and lots of drugs - was christened by the band themselves as "creep rock." This LP has it all: chugging fat skate punk riffage, raunchy rock, ear-shredding mid sections overflowing with scorching garage/stoner thrash and a very surreal and psychedelic vibe that's hard to explain. This is the perfect storm of hyperactive metallic-punk and high-energy headbanging!!! What are you waiting for??!?!!?!?? Label: Tee Pee Records Barcode: 707239020617
  • The debut LP from New York and Montreal’s Stigmatism (Featuring current and past members of Omegas, Lethal, S.H.I.T, Justice and Mati) is finally upon us! Stigmatism plays a style of music that pays tribute to the Rat Cage Records era of New York City punk and hardcore without sounding like an old and stale tribute band. With their debut Ignorance In Power, Stigmatism gives fans of the genre exactly what they want, 13 intense blasts filled with hooks, heavy breakdowns, and lyrics that call attention to the consistent unending rise of anti semitism, fascism, and police corruption currently plaguing New York City. 350 copies on black vinyl with a fold out A2 poster with amazing artwork from Tavi Gibson. Label: Static Shock Records
  • Started during lockdown by three friends from Leeds, UK who wanted to make some crossover thrash, having been fans of the music for years, Pest Control is the classic story of DIY music straight from a time of crisis. Jack (from Death Metal bruisers Mortuary Spawn) joined soon after the release of the Demo in 2020 and the line up was complete with Pest Control’s first show commencing in their home town the week lockdown ended. Influenced by classic thrash giants such as Metallica, Testament etc. but with a healthy spoonful of crossover like Crumbsuckers, Ludichrist and Municipal Waste, the members grew up with one foot in the Leeds metal and hardcore scenes, taking the best from both worlds. Topping it all off, Leah’s powerful vocal reminds one of the great Dawn Crosby from Detente. For the recording of the LP they were joined by Luke on second guitar and now have a permanent second guitarist in the shape of Joe Williams (Big Cheese, Fate) and will be seen touring Europe with the almighty Foreseen, having already played across the UK with Municipal Waste, Eternal Champion and as well as appearances at Outbreak and Wrongside Fests. With this LP the band have truly shown their technical chops from the fast and furious title track to the almost operatic thrash style of The Great Deceiver. There is a fresh range of ideas and most importantly catchy songs for the Crossover Thrash fan to sink their teeth into. Mastered by Arthur Rizk, who knows a thing or two about thrash metal excellence having worked with Power Trip and Fugitive, expect to have your brain well and truly FUMIGATED. • Red Rockers were an American musical band from New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, active from 1979 to 1985. Originally formed as a hard-charging punk rock band, they changed their style to a smoother, more melodic sound and released two albums in the new wave vein of their record label, 415. They are best known for their 1983 hit single "China". "Condition Red", Red Rockers' first full-length album, was released in 1981 on 415 Records. It was recorded at the famed Automatt studio in San Francisco. The Dead Kennedys' Jello Biafra sings background vocals on Folsom Prison Blues. The song Dead Heroes was included on Rodney Bingenheimer's punk compilation album, The Best Of Rodney On The ROQ. Joe Ohliger III directed a music video for "Guns Of Revolution", as part of an interview for Videowest, an independent television studio that was based in San Francisco. It was shot at Fort Point in San Francisco, at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Nearly 40 years later, Red Rockers have re-released their 1981 debut album, a punk rock statement of purpose called “Condition Red.” The reissue contains three bonus tracks — including “Voice of America,” the B-side of the 12-inch “China” single — and is available on CD and as a red vinyl LP. • TANGK is the righteous and vibrant fifth album from madcap truth-seekers, IDLES. Pronounced “tank” with a whiff of the “g” - an onomatopoeic reference to the lashing way the band imagined their guitars sounding that has since grown into a sigil for living in love - the record is the band’s most ambitious and striking work yet. Where IDLES were once set on taking the world’s piss, squaring off with strong jaws against the perennially entitled, and exercising personal trauma in real time, they have arrived in this new act to offer the fruits of such perseverance: love, joy, and indeed gratitude for the mere opportunity of existence. A radical sense of defiant empowerment radiates from TANGK, co-produced by Nigel Godrich, Kenny Beats, and IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen. Despite his reputation as an incendiary post-punk sparkplug, frontman Joe Talbot sings almost all the feelings inside these 10 songs with hard-earned soul, offering each lusty vow or solidarity plea as a bona fide pop song—that is, a thing for everyone to pass around and share, communal anthems intended for overcoming our grievance. TANGK is a love album—open to anyone who requires something to shout out loud in order to fend off any encroaching sense of the void, now or forever. TANGK will be released on 16th February 2024 via Partisan Records. Orange Vinyl Label: Partisan Records

  • "Philadelphia death rock/dungeon punk band Poison Ruïn consolidate their two EPs into one ten-song, self-titled album. Brained, fleshed, and recorded by Mac Kennedy, this effort is one of a personal nature. The sonic nature of the album has a human looseness, apparent like a cassette tape warbling from being wound and rewound. At times the songs sound thin and brittle, as though they are breaking apart simply by being played. The lyrics walk the same path and describe a world of cosmic horrors and environmental disaster. With their soft, eerie, medieval-hall introductions, each song transports the listener to a world of runes and swords, but staves off dorkiness with the relevance of a chewy post-punk center. Rife with sweetly stark guitar hooks and drums that flail like a death march, this self-titled LP gives off black metal at first glance. On further inspection, there is a gradation of inspirations ranging from pond-hopping blues guitar solos, heavy-handed punk drumming, gothic ambiance, and progressive song structures." Their 2nd album! All Girl Post-Punk from Berlin. Cool and sinister, definitely and positively sounding like a modern reincarnation of X-MAL DEUTSCHLAND! In the recently massive wave of bands being influenced by the early 80s Post-Punk sounds, AUS are still an outstanding appearance, with their icey synth-sounds, minimalistic guitar and bass, and almost tribal (or industrial?) drum beats. And their german lyrics perfectly fit into the atmosphere created. (Static Age Music)
  • The London one-man synth and garagepunk project is launching its first proper full-length release after some of its already very delicious singles and EPs. I have to say that Theo Zhykharyev just topped the recent short players with this album. The record is actually just one thing - one complete highlight. Something between Screamers meets early Numan/Tubeway Army and a health dose of DC hardcore. Awesome stuff! Energetic and slightly insane - it's hard not to love it. I think this will end up being one of the albums you whip out when someone claims no one makes great music anymore.
