  • After Xmal Deutschland’s success with four albums on cult labels such as 4AD, Huwe abandoned music to pursue her visual art career. But leaving her legacy in the past was not so easy. Invited by her long-time friend Mona Mur, Huwe reconsidered her decades-long hiatus from music and decided to join Mur in her studio in Berlin. Together, they worked for a year and a half, composing, performing and producing the tracks from scratch, which would eventually become the album Codes. Integral to the overall sound experience was the input of Manuela Rickers who added her famed signature guitar style. Initially inspired by the diary entries of Moshe Shnitzki, who, at the age of 17, left his home in 1942 to live in the cavernous White Russian forests as a partisan, Codes is about the human experience and what extremes can do to an individual. “The result is a poetic, musical cosmos that encompasses the following themes: forest, fear, pain, loss, violence, and loneliness but also beauty, longing, hope and the will to survive,” Huwe explains. These thematic extremities cause an erraticism to Codes—a passing thunderstorm, a cyclonic burst of nature’s force—but one that exudes anticipation amidst the chill. With elegant production by Mur and Huwe and mixing and mastering by Jon Caffery (Joy Division, Gary Numan, Einstürzende Neubauten) epic builds crash and disseminate, the sleek synthesized drones of sound even feel claustrophobic at times. Xmal Deutschland, now marked as forerunners of the post-punk movement, were never complacent but consistently ravenous in their attack throughout the 1980s. Huwe’s return is no different. Unexpected but long overdue, Codes is that missing page from post-punk’s history books, the freshly splayed paint across the decades-old canvas—it is the product of the tireless will to survive on her own terms. • This one is subtitled ‘The Lost Tapes,’ but it is not a reissue because in fact it was never released – until now! Forty years after their final recording session, Los Angeles-based power pop The Bings is releasing its debut album. The 16-track master tapes sat forgotten in a California bedroom closet until they were discovered in a filing cabinet during the 2020 lockdown. The Bings’ ‘Power Pop Planet – The Lost Tapes’ is a literal time capsule from the pre-MTV 1980s, when new wave, punk, and power pop were still underground genres that flourished mainly in New York and Hollywood clubs. Driven by the songwriting of David Chrenko, and fueled by big guitars and 3-part harmonies, what you are listening to is the great “lost” album of the 1980s from The Bings: ‘Power Pop Planet – The Lost Tapes.’LP comes with insert (liner notes and photos). • THIS IS A PRE-ORDER! YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP ON/OR AROUND 30 MAY, THANKS! BLACK TUSK go way back. Guitarist Andrew Fidler and drummer James May both grew up down in the swamps of Savannah, Georgia, where they’ve been banging heads together for the past 19 years. While often mentioned in the same weed-infused breath as Baroness and Kylesa, BLACK TUSK are a different beast. These swamp monsters have never strayed far from their roots in metal, sludge and punk, though their previous album found them fighting just to stay afloat after bassist Jonathan Athon’s passing. ‘The Way Forward’ is just that. This album charges straight-on behind their new lineup, which includes former collaborators Chris "Scary" Adams on guitars, and Derek Lynch on bass. Together, they clear a path into the future by relying more on what BLACK TUSK does best. Lead single “Brushfire” comes in hot with a mean, ugly, foot-stomping riff. Rough and rowdy gang vocals will have pits trampling through “Dance on Your Grave”, while “Breath of Life” rides off with a raised fist through drums that roll and crack like a thunderstorm. Nearly twenty years in, BLACK TUSK put the pedal to the metal harder than ever. For fans of WEEDEATER, EYEHATEGOD, MASTODON, HIGH ON FIRE. Artwork by Brian Mercer. CD in Digipak with 12-page booklet. • THIS ITEM IS A PRE-ORDER! YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP ON/OR AROUND JUNE, THANKS! Consumption is key. War crimes in real time an arms length away, mandatory connectivity to hive mind. The common human experience is experiencing the shift. The 1000 Yard Stare is common place, no longer experienced only by soldiers and victims at the front. The front is everywhere. Colonial legacies, genocide, poisoned drug supplies and failed policy, killer cops, global warming, Neo-Liberal fallout, rising Fascism. The Information Age in its current state is one that sees the mask of the emperor starting to slip, a power struggle with the worst players moving into prime positions for takeover and identity politics running the resistance while the working class is dismantled in front of us. The only thing to keep us satiated in an age of endless trauma experience is immediate gratification. The absurdity of all of this that we live, love, buy and die within that framework. It's cynical but it's true. So here we are. Bootlicker's newest album, 1000 Yard Stare is 10 tracks of violent music for a vile world. Musically, this sees the group sticking to their UK82 meets American Hardcore with the echoes of Discharge guiding the hand. Skeptix, Special Duties, Svart Framtid are the seasoning. D-Beat propulsion and the knobs broken off at 11. Static Shock will be handling UK/Europe. Please order from them if you're over there unless you love paying heavy shipping. • Geneva-based duo Bound By Endogamy delivers a heavy blend of rave, synth-punk, and industrial music. Shlomo Balexert and Kleio Thomaïdes are both prominent figures in the local squat and punk scene, having been involved in numerous projects over the past decade. On stage, the project consists of drums, a sampler, and vocals. Shlomo handles the drums alongside sharp synthesizers, while Kleio delivers powerful vocals reminiscent of a professional boxer. Expect a fusion of DAF and Kleenex with a hardcore edge. Label: Les Disques Bongo Joe
  • New edition with Japanese OBI strip mocking up the style of the Japanese pressing of “The day of wrath” on Far East Metal Syndicate. The extremely rare BULLDOZER demotape 1984 with the kult “Fallen angel” 7″ added as a bonus. One of the most incredible finds in FOAD’s hunting career: only 3 copies of this demo exist, one sent to Roadrunner, one to King Diamond, and one exhumed in 2013 in AC Wild’s basement and delivered to us for the highest quality treatment. This is the recording that got Bulldozer signed with Roadrunner in 1984 and it sounds killer – different and rawer versions of the classics that ended up on their slasher debut “The Day of Wrath.” Dark and demonic black/speed metal from the wildest guts of Italy’s 80s metal inferno, for all those who worship the early releases of Venom, Bathory and Possessed; plus, the “Fallen angel” session adds that Motörhead touch that makes this record an instant masterpiece of rawness. See how AC Wild introduced these unreleased demo recordings: “This tape was sent to Roadrunner and Roadrunner put us under contract in 1984. It was also sent to King Diamond to ask if he would be interested in being the producer of our album, but he declined saying this stuff sounded ‘too Punk’!!!” Comes with an insert with liner notes, rare photos and scans of the “Fallen angel” 7″, including the previously unreleased alternate sleeve version. Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies Label: F.O.A.D. Records

The perfect blend between early METALLICA and EXODUS with the mittel-European school of DESTRUCTION and KREATOR driven by memorable riffs, a solid rhythmic base, all channeled into their own unmistakable style. Quoting Fenriz (Darthrone): “…over the (funeral) moon about the fact that FOAD Records is releasing one of my favourite demos on vinyl! Truly a lost gem… This recording kind of created their own land within a very crowded metal world at the time, an exciting epic introvert world of its own.” LP with complete demo 1986, bonus CD with the demo + bonus rehearsals 1986-1987 including unreleased songs. 16 page booklet with photos, lyrics, liner notes, an introduction by Fenriz and scans of the original cassette artwork. • Pioneers of the early D-beat scene, Crude S.S., need little introduction to the extreme punk record-buying audience. Formed in Fagersta, Sweden in 1982, C.S.S. helped define the whole crust-core subgenre, along with their pals Anti-Cimex and Mob 47. • THIS ITEM IS A PRE-ORDER! YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP ON/OR AROUND MAY, THANKS! The New, Epic Metallic Odyssey From The Longstanding Norwegian Duo Of Fenriz & Nocturno Culto. With a legacy of audial treasures now spanning more than 35 years & with the fountain of creativity ever flowing, Norway’s Darkthrone return with their latest venture through classic riffs & vintage sounding metal in the shape of the epic new seven track studio opus, ‘It Beckons Us All’. Seeing the longstanding duo of Fenriz & Nocturno Culto uniting once more, ‘It Beckons Us All’ follows on the heels of 2022’s revered ‘Astral Fortress’ album, with what could be considered an even more refined, challenging & diverse set of timeless metal anthems from the uncompromising trailblazers; from the melodic, to the sombre & atmospheric, to the blackened dirges emanating from Darkthrone’s highly distinguishable riffing, as well as a nod to influences such as Celtic Frost along the way. Recorded once again at Chaka Khan Studios in the band’s native Norway, ‘It Beckons Us All’ was mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door, with artwork courtesy of Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak. With an expansive catalogue consisting of a multitude of various genre classics, Darkthrone first arrived on the global stage with their atmospheric & technically accomplished death metal debut, ‘Soulside Journey’ back in 1991, followed by the milestone in black metal that is ‘A Blaze In The Northern Sky’ released only the following year, after the intended second album ‘Goatlord’ was essentially scrapped to make way for something more primitive & paving the way for Darkthrone’s close association with the black metal genre over many years. And so, with an endlessly progressing (and even regressing) evolution which has seen the band successfully delving into many sub-genres of metal & punk, ‘It Beckons Us All’ stands as one of the band’s most complete & vast works to date. This edition of 'It Beckons Us All' is presented on black vinyl, with printed inner sleeve containing lyrics. Label: Peaceville Records
  • An incredibly intense live document of the band’s legendary 20-date first tour of New Zealand. Recorded before an audience of about 40 people in Invercargill (Keith Richards called it “the arsehole of the world”), this is Dead Moon at their most savage, their best live recording, the way they were meant to be heard! Toody Cole recalled that the band had been invited to open for Nirvana that year, but one of Fred Cole’s ironfast rules was “never cancel a gig you committed to for a better one.” So Dead Moon burned through New Zealand as planned. Recorded live at the Glengarry Tavern, Invercargill New Zealand Saturday September 5th 1992, and repressed for the second time in a small edition. Label: Mississippi Records Barcode: 0617308062793
  • The 1981 debut single by the acclaimed NYC-based post-punk/new wave band, reissued on vinyl! Consisting of Alexa Hunter (vocals), Jorge Arevalo Mateus (lead guitar), Stephanie Hameon (rhythm guitar), Tony Zebe (bass) and Micki Crash (drums), Disturbed Furniture emerged in the late 1970’s on a wave of promise, but after only three short years, they regretfully dissolved. In a short space of time they became an integral part of New York’s vibrant arts and music scene, opening for many distinguished local and British bands including the GoGo’s, the Psychedelic Furs, the Stranglers, Sector 27, The Waitresses and Lydia Lunch. They toured around the east coast of the US, were even asked to open for The Clash in NYC and seemed set for a very productive future… Why they disbanded, I don’t know, but all members scattered to Europe and the west after they split. In the following decades, however, all band members continued to play and record music and in 2017, fuelled by having their old music videos included in a major museum show, (Club 57: Film, Performance, and Art in the East Village, 1978–1983 at MOMA), three of the original members (Hunter/Mateus/Oakleaf) reunited to record new work and perform. The product of this reunion was a 5-track EP entitled Continuous Pleasures., which was released in 2019 Backed with Alors Allez on on the b-side, Information completed their one and only 45 which was released in 1981 on Disturbed Records. Driven by a relentless bass line and joined by the frenzied jangles of rhythm and lead guitar, this fusion of energy was matched by the raw urgency of Hunter’s vocals. What a shame it took them over thirty years to make more and that they only released one single in this golden era of post-punk. Check it out above. Label: Mad Butcher

  • After a few outstanding cassettes on the Stucco and Impotent Fetus imprints, Sorry State presents the first vinyl from Olympia, Washington’s Fugitive Bubble. While Fugitive Bubble’s raw production, hyperactive drumming, and ragged delivery root them in the world of DIY punk and hardcore, their music hearkens back to a time when hardcore’s boundaries weren’t so clear. The faster bands on Dangerhouse—Rhino 39, the Eyes, the Bags—are an obvious reference point since Fugitive Bubble shares those groups’ scratchy guitar sounds and big chorus hooks. But Fugitive Bubble also evokes classic punk in their willingness to push at the edges of their sound with moments like the wistful closing section of the otherwise furious “Chicken Head,” the brooding “Magic Switch” (which has shades of Paganicons-era Saccharine Trust), and “Motorcycle Slop,” the evocative instrumental that closes Delusion. Fugitive Bubble’s music is suffused with the thrill of discovery, their loose yet assured delivery gluing everything together as they explore a wide range of musical moods and colors, particularly for a 45rpm 12” operating primarily at blistering tempos. With Delusion, Fugitive Bubble will win over anyone who loves great songs played fast and wild. Label: Sorry State

An incendiary holocaust of blasting speeds and vitriolic riffs for a radical and aggressive thrash assault that also harkens back to the faster hardcore of that era. For the first time on vinyl (forget the unofficial, bad-sounding lathe cut 10″s that came out a few months ago) remastered from the best sound sources in existence and finally giving these incredible recordings the proper quality-treatment.
