THIS ITEM IS A PRE-ORDER! YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP ON/OR AROUND JUNE, THANKS! Consumption is key. War crimes in real time an arms length away, mandatory connectivity to hive mind. The common human experience is experiencing the shift. The 1000 Yard Stare is common place, no longer experienced only by soldiers and victims at the front. The front is everywhere. Colonial legacies, genocide, poisoned drug supplies and failed policy, killer cops, global warming, Neo-Liberal fallout, rising Fascism. The Information Age in its current state is one that sees the mask of the emperor starting to slip, a power struggle with the worst players moving into prime positions for takeover and identity politics running the resistance while the working class is dismantled in front of us. The only thing to keep us satiated in an age of endless trauma experience is immediate gratification. The absurdity of all of this that we live, love, buy and die within that framework. It's cynical but it's true. So here we are. Bootlicker's newest album, 1000 Yard Stare is 10 tracks of violent music for a vile world. Musically, this sees the group sticking to their UK82 meets American Hardcore with the echoes of Discharge guiding the hand. Skeptix, Special Duties, Svart Framtid are the seasoning. D-Beat propulsion and the knobs broken off at 11. Static Shock will be handling UK/Europe. Please order from them if you're over there unless you love paying heavy shipping. Though the Beacon Of Faith album is densely-packed, BAPTISTS’ sound is far from claustrophobic. There is melody amongst the dissonance, as the band more deeply explore the noise rock vistas that have always underpinned their sound. The album broadly follows the same trajectory as its predecessors —Bushcraft(2013) and Bloodmines (2014) – combining the style of raw adrenaline-fueled emotion, venomous vocal delivery, gigantic guitar sound, and a visceral rhythmic propulsion; a sonic manifestation of desolate rage, bolstered by a palpable sense of urgency. The lyrics on Beacon Of Faith are drawn from the members’ direct experience of a broken society and general discontentment with everyday life. A multitude of issues are in the firing line, from the Canadian court system, issues surrounding substance abuse, mental health, and how the more fortunate tend to dismiss people who have been dealt a less-fortunate hand. Beacon Of Faith was recorded at Godcity in Salem, Massachusetts with Kurt Ballou in July 2017, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon. Vinyl is housed in a Stoughton printing old style-tip on gatefold jacket. Southern Lord 20th anniversary silver vinyl is limited to 500 copies total pressed Label: Southern Lord Records

Vancouver’s BAPTISTS recently completed work on their second full-length album, the follow-up to their 2013 debut Bushcraft. Entitled Bloodmines, the new album (like the debut) was recorded at Godcity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts with with Kurt Ballou Like its predecessor, Bloodmines is a fast, exhilarating album of rage, oozing with genuine raw emotion and punk rock fury. Shards of feedback make way for fast powerful riffs and savage vocals, whilst explosive drumming pumps blood around the band’s beating heart. On album tracks like “Vistas”, “Calling” and the title track, “Bloodmines”, the pace changes, revealing powerful, almost anthemic, jagged noise rock akin to influential San Diego post-hardcore band Drive Like Jehu and similar acts which go beyond the two minute mark. Discordant guitar melodies and abrasive vocal passages are elongated, still volatile but perhaps allowing for further contemplation of the band’s underlying message. BAPTISTS continually find new ways to express their rage and with Bloodmines they have created a memorable and commanding album. Label: Southern Lord Records

Out of stock"A couple years ago my consigliere Mr @jonahjonahfalco played me a track he was working on, and I immediately fell in love with its Pet Shop Boys style electronics tom-toms and their late Blitz general vibe. Down the pub and upon some further discussion I learnt the band was Edmonton’s @arewenothomefront , and as it happened I already knew @noproblempunx We got talking and a few months later ‘Think Of The Lie” 12” came out. I loved it and so did a lot of people it seems. Then the band came and played two fantastic shows @staticshockrecords and I finally met Mr @wegotemboys and the rest of the band which as it happened were the sweetest bunch. By then we have been in touch regularly and I can say, without a doubt, that working with them has been an incredible experience, I want to think we all have learnt a lot from each other and became great friends on the way. Today is the day their second record gets announced and I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It is a very special record, hard to pinpoint but a record which, at least in this house, gets played over and over. I hope you dig it." Paco “Enormous full length debut from Home Front who have managed to fix truth to the beautiful and borderline mythical threadneedle moment in which punk, new wave, pop, indie and rock and roll all descend upon a single source. We may have only dreamed that Tears for Fears might have been going to see GBH at the weekend or that Annie Lennox spent her evening sewing Crass patches to her Wrangler Blue Bell jacket, but Home Front have rang the dinner triangle for us all to feast. High moments of perfectly patinated synth brilliance, tender new wave considerations, punk anthems that could fill the biggest stadium, and fiery hooks that could warm the coldest cynic. The Champagne, the gluebag, the boots, and the eyeliner, GAMES OF POWER clutches to it all. GAMES OF POWER lives inside a crystal clear recording by long time friend and Edmonton wizard Nik Kozub, bringing Home Front’s follow up to “Think of The Lie” to euphoric heights and gritty lows. Produced again by Jonah Falco remotely and between sub zero 10 kilometer runs in Edmonton in late February with co-production by Nik Kozub, Home Front have put their best mirror shined boot forward." THIS IS A PRE-ORDER! YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP ON/OR AROUND MARCH, THANKS! At last, one of the all-time bat legends, NOMEANSNO has returned to Alternative Tentacles Records!!! The ENTIRE catalog no less, starting with their most beloved album, WRONG. Using the original all analog master from the original mother, as engineered by George Horn, John Wright, and Jello Biafra. Nomeansno formed in a vacuum in Victoria, British Columbia in 1979. Quickly relocating to the clothes dryer to hone their classic sound, they also become masters of Tumbling and toiled diligently throughout the 80's until relocating to Vancouver and managed to produce 11 albums spanning a career of 35 years, 7 months, 11 days, 16 hours, 27 mins but unfortunately at that defining moment the stopwatch was fumbled and rolled under the couch and the seconds could not be accurately recorded. Included in this stunning output was a collaborative album with Jello Biafra, and numerous EPs and singles. Originally formed as a two-piece by brothers Rob and John Wright, NMN was later joined by monster guitarist, Andy Kerr and became a four piece which was quickly amended as there were only three members at that point. However, after Andy's departure in '91 The brothers Wright were joined by mythical guitarist Tom Holliston and Brobdingnagian drummer Ken Kempster, officially raising the roster to four and paperwork once again needed amending. Those fellows kept Mr. Biafra on his toes! Mixing hardcore punk, dark lyrics, and sophisticated arrangements bordering on prog, (near Passau) Nomeansno was massively influential and widely regarded as the first band to be referred to as “math rock”. An attribution most solidly enshrined with their '91 release of "0 + 2 = 1". Actual legal precedence was set and to this day NMN receives a small royalty from the Pointlessly Arcane Musical Genre Descriptors Society of America (PAMGDSA) whenever the term is used. Originally released on Alternative Tentacles in 1989, WRONG stands on its own, and is still considered to be a much-loved classic, not unlike Pinocchio. Allmusic called the album a masterpiece and the definitive jazz core (currently securing rights to that one) album. In 2021, the album was voted by the public to win the Canadian Polaris Heritage Prize to honor classic Canadian albums released before the creation of the award. In 2015, drummer John Wright described the album as their “most popular album by a country mile” harkening back to those early days of punk rock when time was measured by the lifespan of a raccoon, and to the St. Louis Music Press of WRONG’s success to the rise of alternative music and the success of Nirvana; "That’s where all the buzz about us came from. We were touring throughout the States in the mid-80s, and we'd get a little bit of an audience here and there, but after a couple of years in Europe, we started doing some big shows there, and all of a sudden, people in the States were coming out to our shows. And we went from getting paid $200 to getting paid $1000. It was just like that. You had to have the buzz, and then it all just kind of blew up." Out of stockCanadian powerhouse WARKRUSHER are back after their insanely great self titled Demo Tape, Pils Sessions #11 Tape and the Epitaph 7". Agipunk will release their debut LP in Europe (American press by Desolate Records) right on time for their European tour. Now, a few words about the music: I honestly think this is the perfect combination between old school stench core a la Axegrinder, Deviated Instinct, early Hellshock and early nineties Bolt Thrower. I've been shocked by the thick granitic power of this new recordings and felt my eardrums under a relentless siege that I had to listen to this damn good record over and over again for the next days. Not to talk about the artwork: simply insane with all those little details and stuff. Label: Agipunk

Created on the western edges of the infinite plains and prairies of coldest Canada, Edmonton, Alberta's HOME FRONT dance freely and madly along the edges of time and create their own moment amongst the revered and long frozen reserves of THE CURE, SUICIDE, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, "Second Empire Justice" era BLITZ, and NEW ORDER. A record bubbling over with analog synth, guitar loops, slammed 808 drums, and anthemic vocal pushes tugging at the great moment in-between the “death” of punk and the “birth” of new wave, pulling fresh sounds into their punk roots and shoving a studded leather jacket around a silk robe. Justice, violence, doubt and uncertainty a la Gary Numan narrating a Warren Miller Extreme Ski Special on the set of TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA: this is HOME FRONT. (La Vida Es Un Ms Records)

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER! YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP ON OR AROUND OCTOBER, THANKS! At some point it becomes clear to all of us that trying to navigate life on The Darkest Timeline is pretty heavy going. Politics, economics, human rights… all that grown-up stuff you have to worry about as an adult. Turns out they’ve all been surrendered to ideological grifting and cynical culture wars, which should be enough to make you pretty fkn furious. And you know what? We’re gonna need a soundtrack to this that sounds equally pissed off; something loud, fast and ‘orrible that gives you the impetus to finally drive that bulldozer through the cop shop. In case you hadn’t guessed where this was going, please welcome the grand, timely and thoroughly welcome return of Chain Whip. Straight out of the gate, their second full-length ‘Call Of The Knife’ is absolutely raging. The opening title track might have you squinting at the turntable for a couple of seconds to check that someone hasn’t reanimated the young Circle Jerks, but as soon as frontman Josh Nickel’s voice kicks in, hardcore cognoscenti will be under no illusions that they could possibly be listening to anyone else. His voice is a righteous, gravelly roar that cuts straight through the noise with the very loose subtext ‘I’m having a bad day and it’s imperative that you know about it’. There’s a vitality to it that helps make these Vancouver boys one of the best bands in punk today, and it helps that he’s backed up by a rattling, rolling collective who remind us all that good old-fashioned hardcore (like the ‘80s used to make) remains one of the best ideas anyone’s ever had. Suck on that idea for a moment, poindexter! You know what you’re getting with song titles like ‘Class Decay’ and ‘Hatewave’, but there’s something about the band’s garage-slanted take on the genre that makes ‘em a cut above. Panache? Chutzpah? Just the simple matter of really fkn good songs? Impossible to say, so let’s just settle by agreeing that this album does it all: you can skate to it, you can slam to it, you can paint your bedroom black to it. You can even listen to it while kicking over the statues and kickstarting that violent and bloody revolution we’ve been promised. Look, this is serious stuff that also happens to be oodles of fun. ‘Something’s gotta give,’ they sing, and maybe it’s your resistance. On this sort of delicious form, no one can touch Chain Whip right now. Form a cult and get obsessed immediately. Label: Drunken Sailor Records

Out of stockOne of the most exciting bands to come out of Canada in the last few years, Vancouver’s ACTORS delivers their debut album on Artoffact Records, and you better believe it it sounds as glorious as all the hype predicted! This is the fourth pressing, on milky-clear vinyl. “You should make it your business to check this album out. One of the better post punk releases I have heard this year.” -Elizabeth Klisiewicz, Echoes & Dust “Vancouver’s brilliant post-punk and new-wave quartet ACTORS continue their flair for sonic cinematics in the video for their latest track ‘Face Meets Glass’… The atmosphere quivers with singer Jason Corbett’s crooning reverb augmented by shivering guitars and stark synths.” –Post-Punk “Addictively dancey, uplifting and melancholy sounds… Beautiful, dark music.” –CVLT Nation “Eighties-style post-punk… marrying influences from metal in the post-punk style.” –Decibel Magazine Label: Artoffact Records Barcode: 0628070633463

Hardcore punk band formed in Victoria, B.C./ Canada in 1980. Dayglo's "Feed Us A Fetus" is their second full-length album, originally released in 1986. This is hands-down, the best Canadian punk record to emerge from the 80's!! Aside from collecting most of the songs from their first 12? record entitled "Out Of The Womb" (1981), it also contains many brand new songs (at the time) that were even better than those on the first album. Many of their classic punk anthems are captured on this vinyl and Unrest Records is the sixth label to release the album over the years, which is a testament to what a classic it really is. Less Talk, More Rock is the second full-length album by the Canadian punk rock band Propagandhi, and the last album to feature bassist John K. Samson. Released in 1996. Chris Hannah described the album as a conscious decision to be more confrontational, noting the presence of the term "gay-positive" on the album cover. The album was expressly political to weed out the "jocks" and "bros" in the audience. "When How to Clean came out, we had no idea anyone would like it, then we went and played some shows and all of a sudden, oh, who are all these fucking jocks and skaters and surfers here? Fuck them," says Hannah. "Let's draw a line in the sand, let's make sure we're not misunderstood. We have these values, let's make sure nobody misunderstands them, even if it separates the wheat from the chaff and we're the chaff and it's just us. Let's lay it out on the table." Includes two sided, colour insert with Political Views. Includes Digital Download card. Label: Fat wreck Records Barcode: 751097066614

Out of stockRaised on a heavy dosage of good ol' American rock and roll - of both the 1950s (Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry) and 1970s varieties (The MC5, The Stooges, The Velvets) ...And here's one of the first Lp we wanted to release at the beginning of our label Dangerhouse Skylab... This Teenage Head release was only issued on Cd in Canada in 2008 as a short run, and have never been reissued since...We're really proud to have this one on glorious vinyl, thanks to Steve Mahon, original bass player... The band asked Marky Ramone to record some classic Teenage Head songs with them, along with some rarities and covers...The result is astonishing, Marky came with Daniel Rey, great NY producer (Ramones, Misfits, Gang Green, Gluecifer...) to record the session... 12 tracks were recorded, 10 originals from the classic Teenage Head repertoire, and two covers, "Some Kinda Fun " (Chris Montez, that the band already recorded in 82) and the Boys' "First Time".... The band is on fire, going thru classics like "Picture My Face", "Let's Shake", Tearin'Me Apart" or "Lucy Potato", and also with more obscure songs from their catalogue, like "Ain't Got No Sense" or "Little Boxes"... The Lp will come in solid pink vinyl, with an insert with all the original liner notes written by guitar player Gord Lewis... Frankie Venom died in 2008 shortly after the release of the album, as well as Gord Lewis that also left us in august 2022. Label: Dangerhouse Skylab

Out of stockGym Tonic are an international (1x Canada, 3x France) four-piece (living in Berlin) and talk of the town when it comes to hyped-up synth punk. In some parallel universe, DEVO, Half Japanese and The Residents grew into one and decided to channel their energy into songs about nuclear catastrophes, vitamin injections, car sickness and deadly events. Throw melody lines straight out of the Twillight Zone on top and you have an all-around gem. This is a reissue of the 2019 release on Et Mon Cul C’est Du Tofu? Gym Tonic was an aerobic TV show in France when I was very young (in the ancient times of the early 1980’s). It was also one of my first 7’’ ever. I loved it. It is in a very bad shape now but I still have it. I’m really happy that a new Gym Tonic record is going to enter my record collection. I’m sure it is going to be in a very bad shape soon as I’ll surely play it as often as my old 7’’. I was amazed of the quality of this album when Stéphanie sent it to me. It was obvious that Mon Cul had to put this out as I was playing the songs over and over. Label: Phantom Records

Throw melody lines straight out of the Twillight Zone on top and you have an all-around gem. The six new songs on Sanitary Situations continue where Gym Tonic started their way to the top with the 2019 full length Good Job. Like their long-time touring siblings Lassie, they know, that it is a long way (to the top). But the proof, that they’re on the right track is right here. Drawing inspiration from their everyday lives or the world around, the new record is their usual merging of post-punk with new wave and 80’s synth music, worshipping (not copying) their masterminds DEVO. It includes themes such as addiction, contagious diseases, sexual harassment and the relations between human mind and technology. At times comical, satirical or tragic their songs are always very lively and floorfillers. Gym Tonic: now more than ever. Label: Phantom Records

This new Canadian band (with members of BOOTLICKER, NO HEART, LAST CRUSADE and SPLIT ARROWS among others) released a debut demotape last year that immediately catched my attention, i got a bunch of copies for distribution and instantly became one of my favourite demos from 2022. And they also featured 2 tracks on the British Columbia Bovver compilation also released last year. I got hooked up by their fresh hardcorepunk somehow taking influences from both shores of the north Atlantic Ocean, like if GANG GREEN and CIRCLE JERKS would be jamming with THE PARTISANS and THE SKEPTIX on a drunken party. Or something like that. So now it was time for their vinyl debut on their own and here you have 10 tracks of sharp, catchy, fast and piercing Punk Hardcore on a 45rpm 12inch with the title “Perverted Law” which will be released by the end of the summer. Packed shows, sold out tours, both their six-track debut 12" and debut full-length "Pressure" get re-press after re-press... does BISHOPS GREEN really need any further introduction? I don't think so either, but we at REBELLION RECORDS sure as hell are damn proud to present you guys the brand new sophomore album by Canada's leading street punk band entitled "A CHANCE TO CHANGE"! With this album the band found a bridge between their raw and powerful debut EP, the passionate and resistful "Pressure" LP and their wild and rowdy live shows capturing it all on "A Chance To Change". So what are you still waiting for?! Label: Pirates Press Records

Fronted by Greg Huff and supported by others formerly of bands including ALTERNATE ACTION, THE LANCASTERS, SUBWAY THUGS and GLORY STOMPERS, this is the perfect next step in the evolution of those bands. The sound is still raw yet melodic and catchy, but done with so much more skill and precision than all the aforementioned bands. Fans of catchy singalong street-punk rock 'n' roll and bands like THE BUSINESS and COCK SPARRER can buy this record without hesitation. Out of stockReady for the most frantic’n’furious 13 minutes you’ll hear all year? Good job - The Hell hail from Norfolk County, Cleveland, and their self-titled debut album is a teeth-rattlingly excellent slab of hardcore punk; probably the best since… ooh, I dunno. Bootlicker? Slant? Judy & The Jerks? Chain Whip? Like all of those records, it’s a trip back to the glory days of hardcore - arguably several periods that could fit under that term - and it’s relentlessly, almost heroically great. Ten songs fly by before you’ve even had the chance to fully process anything beyond a general sensation best summed up with the word/sound/guttural exhalation ‘WHOAAAA’. The best bit? Each and every one of them totally fucking rips. You’ll hear flashes of everything you love etched into these grooves: the raucous chaos of the Kings of Punk themselves, Poison Idea; the SoCal brattiness and garagey schlock of TSOL, Angry Samoans and/or Circle Jerks when they were all getting started; the speed, breakdowns and temper tantrums of NYHC before all that heavy metal stuff got involved… But of course you didn’t come here for a catalogue of soundalikes, you came here to get your ears melting and your synapses pulsating til they’re spinning like an angle grinder against the inside of your skull. Right? Well, that’s why I’m here anyway. And lemme tell ya, this delivers on that front: The Hell are their own beast, un-peg-down-able by mere reference points and speculation as to possible influences. Let’s just agree that they’ve absorbed all of it and made a sound that’s recognisable but wholly their own. Which is to say: you’ll dig it. You want context? Hell, I’ll give ya context. The Hell feature ex-members of former Lumpy faves Cruelster, Sorry State nihilists Woodstock 99 and D-beat aggro types Hysteria, among others. Maybe that list gives you a firmer picture of where they’re coming from; maybe you read it and nodded politely, making furious mental notes to check ‘em all out when you get five minutes (and you really, really should). But let’s face it - in the here and now, all this detail is ephemera. What matters is this record. Don’t make me type out a hackneyed quip about the devil having all the best tunes (gahhh, too late), or the road to The Hell being paved with good intentions (booooooo). Just do what’s only right and proper in the circumstances, and get the fuck involved. This ludicrously short and effortlessly brilliant record demands it. Will Fitzpatrick. The third album from legendary Canadian punk rock pioneers - D.O.A. from 1982. The fancy edition for the 40th birthday will be published by Pasażer Records in late May 2023. "War on 45" was the successor to the albums "Something Better Change" and "Hardcore '81", which are considered to be absolute classics of punk rock today. It was recorded in mid-1982 during several late-night sessions in Los Angeles (at night the price of the studio was half the price). In politics, it was a time of intensification of the Cold War and the arms race, and a lot of local, more or less bloody conflicts - hence the overtones of the title and most of the songs contained on it. You can hear the war there. On the other hand, the title "War on 45" is a parody of the then-popular lame compilations with hits like "Stars on 45". On the occasion of War on 45, a new line-up of the band crystallized. Joey Shithead and Dave Gregg were joined by Wimpy Roy from the Canadian band The Subhumans, who had just ceased to exist, and the drummer was Dimwit - the older brother of Chuck Biscuits, who in turn had just left the band. 8 tracks known from the original release were enriched with 7 bonuses, mainly from the demo recorded a few months earlier, when the drummer was still the aforementioned Biscuits (also known from many other legendary bands - Black Flag, Danzig, Social Distortion etc.). Thus, on one LP you have two best Canadian drummers of all time: the Montgomery brothers - Biscuits and Dimwit. The album includes two covers from both its US and European releases, and a 12-page booklet with unique archival photos, posters, and a story of the making of the album written by the Canadian godfather of punk rock, frontman D.O.A. - Joey Shithead, where many delicious anecdotes are told. This album blows your mind as hard as D.O.A. always could and sums up one of the best periods in the history of these world-famous punk pioneers. The new edition of "War on 45" will not be played at a fast 45 rpm, but at a regular 33 rpm. Tracklist A1 Liar for Hire A2 I'm Right, You're Wrong A3 America the Beautiful A4 Let's Fuck A5 War A6 I Hate You A7 War in the East A8 Class War B1 Rent-A-Riot (1982 demo) B2 Liar for Hire (1982 demo) B3 Race Riot (1982 demo) B4 America the Beautiful (1982 demo) B5 No Way Out (1982 demo) B6 No God, No War (1981 demo) B7 I Hate You (1982 demo) Label: Pasazer Records

Out of stock"R.A.S. is yet another classic French Oi! / punk band from the early 80's that is back in action again! The band disbanded only two years after its original formation in 1982, but revived themselves nearly five years ago (2012) and have occasionally been playing live ever since. It never came to new recordings though... until now that is! Because after decades of 'studio-silence', Contra Records - who were also partly responsible for the first new release of the resurrected Komintern Sect – is about to release the brand new "Pas Le Temps De Regretter" mini-album on 12" vinyl! Although the songs on this 12" aren't completely new, you might have heard a raw studio or live recording of 'em here or there, the recordings of "Pas Le Temps De Regretter" definitely are. As a matter of fact, the five tracks of this mini-LP were already recorded back in 2015! Now it is a complete mystery to me why R.A.S. kept these recordings on the shelf for such a long time, but they're finally getting out there and they definitely taste like more! It most likely has something to do with the fact that these songs were originally written between 1982 and 1984, but nonetheless R.A.S. managed to preserve that classic, French sound and get it on a master tape 30+ years later. With guest appearances by Carl (Komintern Sect), Mourad (L'Infanterie Sauvage), Fred (Outreau) and Joss (Gonna Get Yours), R.A.S. recorded a superb release, perhaps sounding better than ever before! As said, you might have heard songs like "Jeunesse De La Honte", "Paradisiak", "Nelly" and "Cochennec" in another form before - I believe "Ma Force" is the only song I don’t immediately recognize from an (un)official release - but on "Pas Le Temps De Regretter" they appear for the first time in all their glory and it sounds absolutely killer!" Out of stockThe first vinyl offering from Toronto's BURNING LOVE featuring Chris Colohan (CURSED, LEFT FOR DEAD, RUINATION) on vocals. Originally released as a limited cassette demo in 2009, now available on vinyl. Definitely more punk than CURSED but still rooted stoner / doomy metal hardcore. 4 originals and one cover. 2nd 7" and LP coming out soonish on DERANGED and a full USA and Canadian tour later this year. Review from EXCLAIM "While the name may deceive, there's no love ― just burning ― on this Toronto, ON-based quintet's energetic and completely grimy debut recording. Comprised of six tracks blasted out in ten minutes, the garage-based endeavour is shockingly debaucherous and unkempt. Essentially comprised of former Cursed vocalist Chris Colohan and Hamilton doom-y hardcore outfit Vatican Chainsaw Massacre, this sinister collaboration spawns a dirtier punk'n'roll-based hardcore outfit than one would anticipate. Their drive elicits comparisons to Disfear, Holland's the Spades, back in their Learnin' The Hard Way era, and of course, Colohan's deep-rooted adoration for Winnipeg, MB's dearly departed Kittens, offering an element of downbeat-heavy tracks bathed in primal angst. Keenly restrained enough to be melodic but still abrasive and loud, Burning Love offer up what's best described as the pelvis-driven distillation of their feeder bands. And that is great but pretty frustrating when such an awesomely primitive, rudimentary style can be so inspiring and brusque yet ephemeral." Originally released in 2009 as a demo tape.
