Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes is hardcore punk band Poison Idea's second EP. It was released in 1985 through Fatal Erection Records. The back cover of the album contained a picture of Elvis Presley with the words "The King" below it as a response to their previous release, the Pick Your King EP, which had a picture of Jesus on the front and Elvis on the back. The artwork, coupled with the title, is a joke at the expense of guitarist Pig Champion, as it is a picture of his extensive record collection. • The Original 1984 12" EP, Remastered w/ Extra Tracks • Bonus Material From "Drinking Is Great" & "Cleanse The Bacteria" Comps “Despite all rumors and confusion, POISON IDEA rages with rapid-fire, foaming bites of outrageous energy. This is what you’ve been waiting for. This band deals out the goods with frenetic, hammering madness and rabid intensity thrash-style compositions.” – PUSHEAD, MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL, 1984 (TKO Records)

Tracks 1-8 are from the 1st MINOR THREAT 7" (1981) . Tracks 9-12 are from the "in my eyes" 7" (1981) plus one track from "flex your head" compilation. This is one of the best LP's you can get. Hardcore at it's finest. If you are into any kind of hardcore you should definetly look into MINOR THREAT. MINOR THREAT was one of the most influential bands from the 80's D.C. hardcore scene and this album proves it. Every song is inventive, original, and can stand on its own as a punk classic. This vinyl (on 45rpm) was remastered and re-cut, features an album sleeve re-design from the original artwork and comes with a digital download card. (Dischord Records)

PNV continues to unearth, and release must have albums from the now legendary New York hardcore Scene of the early and mid-80s. This compilation compiles their rare and pricey debut 7” EP from 1983 along with rare demo tracks and unreleased live tracks. Urban Waste was a juggernaut of NYC Hardcore, hailing from Queens. Known for their intense sludgy sound and ferocious lyrical assaults. Urban Waste was one of the hardest hitting and most original sounding bands in the early 80s New York hardcore scene. The band featured Andy Apathy on Bass formerly of Reagan Youth.
The LP is packaged in a cool gatefold sleeve with a multi-page booklet.

From the ashes of VOM rose the Angry Samoans! In 1978 they recorded their first demos in a cheap two track studio. Some of these tracks have appeared as bonus tracks on long deleted album re-issues, others were released on a long deleted 7´´, one sees the light of day for the first time ever! In true Samoans style the album is sharp and short and finally the complete demos are now released on one piece of vinyl that plays at 45 rpm.

On the 2nd January, 1983 Minor Threat played the "555" Show at the 9.30 Club which comprised of Minor Threat, Faith and Marginal Man. This was the first time all 3 bands played as a 5 piece. Songs 1-17 are from Minor Threat's first set and shows what a powerful force they were. Songs 18-21 were recorded at the Lansburgh Center 29th March, 1983, where Minor Threat played with the Big Boys. It was pretty obvious the spark had gone and this was the last show Minor Threat ever played. This show was notable as it was the only time they played all 3 songs from The Salad Days 7".

Official reissue this Canadian hardcore classic, originally released in 1986. Negative Gain was founded in Toronto, Ontario by Peter Warner who wrote all of the lyrics and provided rehearsal space in his basement. Filling out the lineup was Grant C. Slavin on guitar, Steve Currie on bass, and Andrew Mosely on drums. All members were in their mid-teens at the time. Their influences included Minor Threat, Millions of Dead Cops, the Misfits, and the Dead Kennedys, as well as local TO bands Direct Action and Sudden Impact.
Negative Gain got their first break in '83 when we were asked by local Toronto promoter Jill Heath to open for Jodie Fosters Army at the city's legendary punk club The Turning Point. After the show Pete and Grant went skateboarding with JFA. The evening was documented in a subsequent issue of Thrasher as JFA's guitarist Don Pendelton was writing a column for the rag documenting their tour. Other memorable Negative Gain gigs around this time include warming up for bands like the Circle Jerks, Gang Green, the Descendents and 7 Seconds. The young thrash band soon went from listening to their favorite bands' records on a daily basis to hanging out with them backstage and stealing their beer rider!
More help from Jill Heath came when the promoter sent Negative Gain's 1985 demo tape, Attack of the Killer Bears, to Pushead for review. Pushead evidently like the tape so much that he offered to release a full-length LP for the band. Negative Gain recorded their album in Oakville, Ontario in about five hours on a Saturday afternoon, as studio time was limited to what the young band could afford to spend on the recording. The session was produced by Brian Taylor of the Toronto band Youth Youth Youth.
Sadly, Pete Warner committed suicide not too long after the recording was completed, and never lived to see its release. His last gig with the band was with Toronto's Bunchofuckingoofs. Negative Gain continued on as a three-piece for about two more years, before splitting in the late 1980s.
First time on the digital format - with their full early demo as bonus!

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is the debut studio album by the American punk rock band Dead Kennedys. It was first released on September 2, 1980 through Cherry Red Records in the United Kingdom and later issued by Jello Biafra's own Alternative Tentacles label in the United States. The best selling and generally the most critically acclaimed album by Dead Kennedys, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables has become a major staple of American punk. It is the only Dead Kennedys album to feature drummer Ted and guitarist 6025.

Second (and final) album of Boston's hardcore semi-legend JERRY'S KIDS! The hardcore/thrash metallists formed originally in 1981, rising out of a local scene that included such bands as Freeze, Negative FX and Gang Green (the latter of which would often swap members with Jerry's Kids off and on). Jerry's Kids caught their first break in 1982, when they were featured on a compilation of local talent (This Is Boston, Not L.A.), which created a buzz for the band beyond just Boston. Debut album Is This My World was first released in 1983 by X-Claim Records and later reissued by Taang! Six years later saw the release of this second and final release before splitting up. It remains a classic Boston hardcore record. Although there were plenty of switches in the Jerry's Kids lineup, the best-known included members Rick Jones on vocals and bass, Rockin' Bob Cenci on lead guitar, Dave Aronson on rhythm guitar, and Jack Clark on drums.

Those Who Fear Tomorrow is the 1991 debut full-length album from Cleveland metallic hardcore stalwarts INTEGRITY. Recorded in September of that year, the album still resonates with extreme music fans the world over, as many of the songs still frequent the band's setlists 30 years later.
Notably, the band’s 1991 debut album “Those Who Fear Tomorrow” features newly recorded drum tracks from Iggor Cavalera (Absent In Body, ex-Sepultura and Brandon Gallagher (Trace Amount). Producer Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Power Trip) was tasked with the new mixing and mastering jobs for these reissues.

GORILLA BISCUITS' "start today" is one of the most influential records in hardcore. Hailing from NYC, GORILLA BISCUITS carved a niche within the New York scene. Blending the aggression and energy of bands like AGNOSTIC FRONT with a sense of melody likened to DAG NASTY, GORILLA BISCUITS still stands as a unique reference point for many hardcore bands that have come after them. This is an essential part of any record collection.
Colored (blue) vinyl includes a digital download card.

Originally released in 1986, Brian Baker (Minor Threat) and Dave Smalley (DYS, ALL, DOWN BY LAW) pretty much laid the blueprint for all "melodic hardcore" for decades to come with this LP. Arguably the best DAG NASTY record, a must have in anyones collection.
Remastered 01/02 at Silver Sonya
1-12 recorded in March of 1986 at Inner Ear Studios.
11-12 recorded during "Can I Say", previously released by Selfless Records.
13-16 recorded live on February 6th, 1986 at the Electric Banana, Pittsburgh, PA. First show with Dave as singer. Previously unreleased.

This LP went in and out of print quickly in 1985 shortly before the Varukers' first breakup. Unlike the band's earlier UK82 style, this record captures Varukers taking on some of the metal influence that was sweeping UK hardcore at the time. Powerful and energetic hardcore with metallic undertones, this record is more in line with Antisystem, Antisect, or Sacrilege than say Partisans or Abrasive Wheels. Now available again on vinyl.

LIMITED WHITE VINYL VERSION.
The Swedish hardcore punk scene of the early 1980s was vibrant and wide, with underground movements yielding surprising extremities. This ultra-scarce cassette-only release, limited to 300 copies in 1984, was the first of the legendary Uproar label, pitting the blast-beat proto-grindcore of Asocial, from the small town of Hedemora, against the classical thrash of Bedrövlers, from the equally small town of Fagersta, whose name roughly translates to Miserablerz, a term assigned them by a bus driver that disliked their discordant noise. Subverting Bad Religion’s How Could Hell Be Any Worse for their own purposes, Asocial’s tracks are blindingly fast and Bedrövlers’ down and dirty-rare Swedish hardcore, at its best!

Subverting Bad Religion’s How Could Hell Be Any Worse for their own purposes, Asocial’s tracks are blindingly fast and Bedrövlers’ down and dirty-rare Swedish hardcore, at its best!

DYS ('Department of Youth Services'), along with fellow band SSD, was the backbone of the so-called 'Boston Crew' - a group of guys who lifted weights, ate lots of red meat, and advocated the straight edge. DYS formed around singer Dave Smalley, a Washington DC native attending school in Boston, and bassist Jon Anastas, previously of Decadence (see the This Is Boston Not L.A. comp). The band released this classic LP in 1983 on SSD's XClaim label and played shows in Boston and elsewhere on the East Coast. Essential.

Here Minor Threat get one of their most defiant and raucous live performances re-released on a proper LP, after only four tracks from the show were originally released on 'bootleg' wax, by the band themselves. Here Suicidal Records give all 16 bits from the half-hour show at NYC's Irving Plaza a new run for their money - of course, we'd expect such a curt punk band could fit that many songs into such a short space of time. Raw, airy, and to the point, classics 'Straight Edge' and 'Bottled Violence' make an appearance, but barely get a couple of minutes to their name each. The live versions of 'Little Friend' and 'Stepping Stone' are more developed, but sound yet no less hard hitting. From DC to NY, the OG punk abstainers' brand of detox punk shines best here.

The complete recorded works from one of the 80's premiere straight edge bands. Both of their full lengths, their EP, demo, and 5 previously unreleased songs. Vinyl version also includes a bonus track with a cover of Dag Nasty.
In their five-year existence, INSTED toured the States several times and developed a huge local following at home in Orange County, CA. They were one of the most prominent straight-edge bands of the late ?80s scene, playing old school hardcore with an ultrapositive message. This 2xLP retrospective is packed to capacity with every song the band ever recorded, 45 tracks in all. This includes both of their full-lengths, their EP, and their original demo. In addition, there are five tracks that only appear in this collection. This record comes with a free digital download and, in addition to all 45 tracks, includes a 30-minute video documentary about the band as well as a 30-minute video of their entire set filmed at the Showcase Theater from one of their reunion shows in 2004.

The 1983 debut release from Dischord Records' group SCREAM. Fast, angsty hardcore punk that sits in the same world as Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Dag Nasty ++
One of the less celebrated bands from the first generation of Dischord/DC hardcore punk, in part, I guess, because of their more advanced musical abilitities – that pushed their sound and style into rockier territories in later years (and let’s face it, the contribution of Grohl, albeit modest, has slightly tarnished their street credibilty). But, head back in time to this debut album of 1983, and you’re hard-pushed to find anything in the whole of early 80’s punk as blazingly fast, tight and hooky as Still Screaming. Definitely a classic, able to match Minor Threat and Bad Brains.

A No.1 Indie chart topper when originally released in 1981, this was a 10 track mini LP first issued by collectable Clay Records.
We’ve added 14 bonus including the Indie Chart hit singles ‘Realities Of War’ (No.5, 44 weeks), ‘Fight Back’ (No.4, 46 weeks) and ‘Decontrol’ (No.2, 44 weeks) to what has already been generally acclaimed as THE UK Hardcore Punk record.
The influence this album and Discharge have had on the world-wide Punk movement is impossible to measure – they started a whole genre of “Discore” bands and have been covered by so many Punk and Metal bands (Metallica, Sepultura, Machine Head, Soulfly and Anthrax to name a few) – Punk Rock does not get rawer then this!

Los Angeles, California's FINAL CONFLICT were highly influenced by British punk bands like DISCHARGE and one of the 1st bands to blend hardcore’s simplistic and manic sound and heavy metal's musicianship with any degree of success. These spiky haired punks created a sound that would go on to be emulated by hundreds of bands, none ever reaching the level of raw power that this LP contained. Originally issued on Pushead’s Pusmort Records in 1987 then later issued via Relapse Records in 1994, this stellar album now find’s a new home.
Original tapes found and baked, restored and transfered by Ulysses Noriega at The Laundry Room Recording Studio in Los Angeles, CA and remastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door Studios in Austin , Texas.

Classic Second LP "Ni Måste Bort!" translates loosely to "You've gotta go!" , Totalitar mark racist, sexist and capitalist modes of thought, dysfunctional politicians and useless media, cynicism and the dull mechanical wearing on people's lives on the "To go" list! A Frenzied wall of guitar driven thrash with gutteral shouts and pulverizing drums, Totalitar's sound was cut from the influence of classic D-beat and Swedish hardcore, but with time has become one of the genre's cornerstones.
Ni Måste Bort! was originally released on Sweden's FINN records label in the mid 1990's, and reissued originally by Prank in the early 2000's. This is is it's first re-release in almost two decades, from the original mother plates but brightened with new plating and pressing art RTI.
The re- imagined cover art by John Yates at Stealworks (Allied Records, Punchline magazine) has been augmented with Metallic ink printing on a Stoughton Tip On Sleeve.

Reissue of 1981’s classic first recording by legendary San Francisco band Crucifix. This EP’s raw Sabbath-fueled punk, Shaggs-like musicianship and honest teenage angst provoked one reviewer at the time to write, “it makes you feel like going out and bludgeoning an old lady to death.” Recorded at Tom Mallon Studios in San Francisco in 1981, and originally released on Universal Records, this long out-of-print five track EP contains the band’s defining anthem of the period, “You’re Too Old.”

This breathtaking performance displays why Bad Brains became one of the most important bands in the history of American Hardcore. On Christmas Eve 1982, Bad Brains began their three-day stint at a Hardcore Festival hosted by legendary CBGB.
This vinyl only release contains audio selections from the DVD release, LIVE CBGB 1982. Sure it sounds confusing, but the material on the LP, while culled from the same series of live shows around Christmas 1982 at CBGBs, is completely different. Besides, who can have enough live stuff from the world's best hardcore band at the peak of their prowess? Includes blazingly awesome live versions of "FVK," "How Low Can a Punk Get," and more.

RED EDITION LIMITED TO 100 COPIES.
Swedish punk began in the late ‘70s and by the mid-‘80s, the small steel mill town of Fagersta had seven bands, immortalised on rare compilation The Vikings Are Coming, which is surprisingly diverse: Bizarr’s old-school punk is influenced by the Clash and SLF; Cruel Maniacs give social criticism and Crude SS’s hardcoredraws on Discharge; Rescues In Future’s speedcore is super melodic, influenced by Husker Du; Fear of War’s thrash is anti-religious and there’s more thrash from Bedrovlerz (or ‘Miserablerz’), while Ugly Squaw proffer unique power-punk humour (also making an incognito faux-reggae appearance as Rasta Boys). This edition revives the ori- ginal Swedish version released on Uproar Records in l985, giving us the full monty of this must-have anthology.

Finally re issued, classic 1980's Norwegian hardcore. At a time when most American bands were going metal, this band turned hardcore inwards for a heavier and darker sound that has been a big influence on crust and especially Norwegian hardcore since. Songs are tight, powerful and you can tell these guys were really top players, so controlled and precise, but raging.
The LP of the Oslo band originally came out in 1987 on X-Port Plater. The re-release looks like the original but the front cover is black and white as the original artwork was colored afterwards. The lyric sheet is exactly like the original.
