Doom never have been big on subtlety, and here there is no change in direction. They continue with the tried and true d-beat crust they pioneered in the 80's. This record was recorded in 2001. DOOM was a band which were pivotal in the rise of crust punk and originated from Birmingham. Doom continued with different guitarist, most notably with Dave Talbot who co-founded UK doom metal band SOLSTICE with SORE THROAT’s vocalist Rich Walker, but did not settle with four members for long playing numerous gigs as a three piece,as Pickering turned to vocal and guitar duties. This line up continued until a final split in August 1990. Following the group’s demise Pickering formed Police Bastard, whilst drummer Stick joined ENT then DIRT. This records still sound heavy, fuzzy, dirty and mean as hell!! Label: Antisociety

The Varukers was one of the first groups of the UK 82 movement - the second generation of punk rock that took the spirit of '77 and merged it with the incessant beat of NWOBHM - responsible for creating UK hardcore. Heavily inspired by Discharge, The Varukers released three 7"s in the early '80s before this, their first and most definitive album, came out in 1983 on the legendary Riot City Records (Vice Squad, Abrasive Wheels, Chaos U.K.). Back in print on LP thanks to Radiation Reissues, "Bloodsuckers" is one of the definitive pieces of early UK hardcore, full of Sabbath-inspired guitar work, pounding rhythms and aggressive, anarchistic lyrical content. • Pioneers of the early D-beat scene, Crude S.S., need little introduction to the extreme punk record-buying audience. Formed in Fagersta, Sweden in 1982, C.S.S. helped define the whole crust-core subgenre, along with their pals Anti-Cimex and Mob 47. Hints of extreme metal à la Venom and Celtic Frost, mixed with the UK hardcore approach of Conflict, Crass and Discharge were the main ingredients for a recipe which allowed the band to build a following for 35 years to come. Killing For Nothing is a vinyl compilation of rare and previously unreleased tracks (taken from EP’s, comps and demo’s) by these influential Swedish ’80s HC-legends. On Drøm, HALSHUG expands their sound from the dirge-driven d-beat of their earlier albums Sort Sind (2016) and Blodets Bånd (2015), and explores the dynamics of longer songs, more audible lyrics, and altered tempos, which result in different shades of industrial, dark-wave, and post-punk. Drøm was recorded by Simon Sonne (Orm) in Copenhagen, mixed at Dead Air Studio in Western Massachusetts (The Men, Warthog), and mastered by Peter Peter (The Sods, Bleeder). • MARTYRDÖD | elddop | CD

    9.00 incl. tax
Sweden’s d-beat crust gods, MARTYRDÖD, return with their second full-length for Southern Lord. Once again they entered the infamous Studio Fredman (At The Gates, Amon Amarth, Opeth) to record their new full-length, entitled Elddop the crushing follow-up to 2012’s Paranoia LP. Made up of some of crust’s top combatants, including members of Acursed, Agrimonia, Miasmal, Skitsystem and others, MARTYRDÖD fuses black metal influences into their crust punk style. They create a sense of unfathomable darkness to staggering effect through their game-changing albums; the debut, In Extremis, and the aforementioned Paranoia, which saw them expand their sound with more dynamic leads, empowering dis-harmonies and tension-filled buildups than ever before. Through heavy touring and an unstoppable live show the band has amassed a diehard fanbase in the underground, which will only continue to expand through the upcoming release of Elddop. Sometimes a band just builds a kind of momentum where they just produce more and more rippers and Olympia’s PHYSIQUE are clearly locked into a serious groove. ‘THE RHYTHM OF BRUTALITY’, their third 12″ in a year and a half, and released in time for their upcoming rampage across Europe, is another uncompromising slice of crasher crust ugliness, guitars hissing and squealing in anguish, searing radiation-buzz noise crudely marshalled into seven nasty hardcore salvos, from the punchy d-beat of ‘We Make Noise’ to the punishing stomp of the title track and ‘Miserable Existence’, with its propulsive rolling punk beat half-drowned in feedback filth. PHYSIQUE slam together a knack for disgusting sonics with rock solid riffs for a rawpunk record in the vein of Disaster or Fader War that will scour the paint from your walls. Comes with a big foldout poster for your bedroom wall. Label: Static Shock Records https://staticshockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-rhythm-of-brutality
  • By now people know that most of the music coming out of Olympia WA is important in some way, be it artistically or politically. PHYSIQUE manages to hit both points by channeling the classic DISCHARGE/Kawakami (RIP) model of poetic, simplistic sloganeering and carefully crafted, noise fueled D-Beat punk music. "Punk Life Is Shit" exists to fight the nightmarish reality of inept politicians, capitalism, colonialism, gender struggles, Jesus useless Christ and impending nuclear war that we all live in. 3rd pressing is 150 copies on opaque turquoise or radiation yellow vinyl with an etched B-side, 22x22 double sided poster and digital download card all housed in a 24pt reverse board jacket. Photography by Yet Demeanor, Art by Bee, Fucker and Devin N.D.B.. Recorded by Joey at Left Field. Mastered by Will Killingsworth. Label: Iron Lung Records
  • PHYSIQUE | again | LP

    23.00 incl. tax
The long awaited return of contemporary D-Beat champions, PHYSIQUE with “Again” - their first release since 2019. PHYSIQUE offers 15 tracks of steamrolling, discharge-fueled, crasher crust, seamlessly overlapping the time honored and ever-present D-Beat themes of war and government oppression with their own take on the brutalizing and soul-crushing realities of everyday modern life. With lyrics like: “Free yourself / Hope is the enemy, the enemy of change / Take your hope, smash it to pieces”, the overwhelming sense of life’s inevitable collapse and the dissolution of all the things we hold dear hits at the very core of modern existence. As you slog through the rut, a little more hope is lost each day. Life is empty and without purpose. One can't help but ask - “Again?” But D-Beat is protest music at heart, and “Again”s desperation is complimented by a surging pulse of relentless energy that reminds us that as brutal as life may be, we can't resist the fury of noisy protest that brings us back - again - to scream and shout the "never agains" of our predecessors and ourselves alike. • This two-volume set of records which represents the complete discography of State of Fear couldn’t have come at a better time with the current hardcore/crust scene in the U.S. on the rise once again. A new generation of punks have scoured the filthy depths of the genre to find the classics, and State of Fear ticks every box of a classic hardcore band. Formed from the ex-members of DISRUPT and DEFORMED CONSCIOUS, State of Fear adopted a more streamlined hardcore attack than that of either of their former bands, but kept intact the political and dark themes of the crust bands they had come from. This was hardcore made by fans of Swedish bands like SKITLICKERS, MOB 47, ANTI-CIMEX, and although they definitely wear their influences on their sleeve, they created a sound which was enigmatically their own. Entering the scene in the heyday of the Minneapolis crust explosion spearheaded by Profane Existence in 1994, they immediately made their mark with powerful live showings and a no-bullshit delivery. Volume 1 includes the self titled debut, and the infamous ‘Wallow in Squalor’ EP’s, State of Fear showcase a devastating combination of speed and memorable riffs not seen by another band in America since. Songs like ‘Blood Thirsty System’, ‘Violation’, ‘Consumption’ emboldened a generation of punks in the 90’s, while confirming their feelings of rage at the political system in place, which sadly still stands today. These songs aren’t going to lose appeal until the blood thirsty system falls. Sonarize Records has added a large format 12 page booklet that includes a biography, interviews, lyrics, and hard to find photos of the band. Label: Sonarize Records

As outlined in the above description State of Fear had set out on a hardcore path widely copied but never matched throughout 1994-1996. It’s in this period that they attempt their first full length LP which although marred by recording issues and personnel changes, would go on to be regarded by most as an contender for one of the best LP’s of 1990’s in the hardcore punk genre. Volume 2 is this stand-alone LP by the band and features the original artwork of Marald who has also gone on to a famed career in the fine art world, this includes a large 4 page booklet with all lyrics included, and an A2 poster. Did I mention that both Vol. 1 and 2 have been remastered by Jack Control for the highest sound quality possible. These are definitive documents of one of the best hardcore bands to exist. This is the sixth studio album of the long going scottish anarchist punk band "OI POLLOI" (Slang for "The Common People") 15 new songs recorded in 2014 with an retrospective of the many musically influences of previous OI POLLOI records. Here you find the anarcho charged sing-a-long Oi!Punk in exchange with D-Beat-Crust and of course classic UK Anarcho Punk. "Saorsa" means "Freedom" in scottish gaelic and "Freedom" or "Liberty" is the lyrical main subject of this album. Lyrics are mostly sung in English with little excursions into Gaelic, Spanish as well as Yiddish. With all the heavy political content, OI POLLOI never excluded humor in what they do and this is what makes them so sympathic in my eyes. Responsible for the beautiful artwork was Sonia L. who already contributed to previous OI POLLOI records such as "Fuaim Catha". Label: Ruin Nation Records

  • 2nd album from "all-star" d-beat band from Sweden. "There are bands that you feel you have known forever—recent ones, new ones even—because you are already so familiar with what you know they are going to offer, familiar with the anticipation and the need, with the pleasure you expect them to, quite rightfully, provide the masses (by which I mean people who have once considered calling their first-born Käng). VERDICT is such a band. It has members of MEANWHILE, NO SECURITY, WARCOLLAPSE, 3-WAY CUM, TOTALITÄR, and too many other bands, and even though I have never actually met any of them, I still have had more interactions with them through (over)playing and rocking to their records than I have had with some members of my family, which, to be honest, is definitely for the best. VERDICT is a rather new (but experienced in the things of the D) käng hardcore band, and they know exactly what they are doing and how to do it. Had they produced something different, that would have completely taken me aback—something horrendous like ska-punk would have made so little sense that I would have had to quit punk altogether. Alright, what about The Rat Race, then. This is the follow-up to last year’s Time to Resign, and this one has even more punch, fury, and pummelling power than its predecessor. Unoriginal, in a good way, and thoroughly checking all the correct boxes: the drumming is pure and relentless, the riffs’ efficiency is religiously executed in a “Scandicore 101” way, the vocals are angry, direct, and raspy. Think a joyous orgy between NO SECURITY, UNCURBED, and TOTALITÄR. This is the kind of record that makes the world a better place to rock. Thank you Phobia Records. Käng up your life."
