Welcome DRAMACHINE! All the way from Athen Greece. A punk project involving analogue synths, a guitar, a bass, pedals, vocals, a drum-machine, nagging, gossip and drama- telling brought to you by 3 mortals trying to survive in a world of snake-eating bats, ex boyfriends, extreme weather conditions, self-improvement freaks and low wages. A fresh combination of synth-punk and post -punk / experimental music. Taking the drum machine beat arrangements and synth-heavy patterns of wave/ post-punk, but using those as the base coat in a sound that's much more informed by experimental and avant-garde music. This record is so much more than a genre exercise or a deft melding of influences. It’s an unadjusted highly experimental and totally addictive synth wave album with hints of minimal post punk. The music ranges from dirgelike chants to ethereal pop to haunting ballads. It’s pure melancholic beauty from start to finish. Even a retro, toxic synth pop that balances on a thin line between punk rock and cold-wave electronics. DRAMACHINE offer us a challenging sound, combining both electronics and instrumentation for a truly stunning musical hybrid. Just when you think you have this band figured out you get blasted with a coldwave influence! Edgy and recklessly punky with a dash of synthpop dropped in for good measure. It’s a wild ride, but somehow it hangs together and sounds like music rather than just aimless noise-making. If you crave music that both surprises and charms, I can’t recommend DRAMACHINE highly enough. So, if you want to enjoy this, don't concentrate on the any reference points, concentrate on how they push against and defy any expectations, and you'll see what a genuinely, thrillingly exciting band DRAMACHINE is. • Yellow Eyes copped a raw deal from the start. Their DIY debut from 2012, Silence Threads The Evening's Cloth, was (not unfairly) compared to Krallice, who (somewhat unfairly) are often accused of "scene tourism" because of its members' involvement in other kinds of music. That's black metal for you. Yellow Eyes' stomping ground of not-very-kvlt New York also didn't help, inspiring from-thin-air allegations of vegan hipsterdom. Undeterred, the band has plowed ahead over the past decade with a couple of EPs and four albums–the latter two, wonderfully titled Immersion Trench Reverie and Rare Field Ceiling, cementing Yellow Eyes' reputation for extreme eccentricity well within the bounds of black metal's foundations. Throughout this time, the main draw has always been the hypnotic dual guitar work between the Brothers Skarstad (Will and Sam). The band's wider pedigree must also not be underestimated. Will has links to the sorely missed House of First Light, as well as a solo project, Ustalost, and drummer Mike Rekevics boasts an extensive portfolio ranging from Vanum, to Vilkacis, Vorde, and way back to Fell Voices. But for all this eclecticism, nothing could have prepared us for Yellow Eyes' latest album, Master's Murmur, which was released without warning at the end of October through the band's own imprint, Sibir Records, with an LP to follow on Gilead Media. So what's the big deal? Well, Master's Murmur isn't strictly a black metal record. Note that this is not an improbable event–just look at how Laster or Furia continually reinvent themselves. But that isn't to say that Yellow Eyes is shunning the style, which makes Master's Murmur all the more exciting. Sure, the first blast beat might not turn up until a good 13 minutes of the album has elapsed, but it drops in such an organic way that fans and newcomers alike should feel in safe hands as the band takes you on a tour of what we'll call "adjacent" music. Take "Anywhere Out Of The World" from Dead Can Dance's 1987 album Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun. No rock instrumentation to be heard, clean singing, and yet we have an atmosphere remarkably close to what would become familiar sonics for black metal over the next decade. As such, you can find a lot of extreme metal fans also moving in post-industrial, neoclassical, and darkwave circles. We could take Master's Murmur as a love letter to these equally leftfield genres that often tread similar ground despite disparate motivations and methods. Opener "Old Acclivity Dream" couldn't be a better mission statement. An air raid siren of woodwinds blaring out of harmony, thrumming bass, then guitar noise verging on power electronics, before a haunting melodic theme surfaces out of the cacophony. The transition into the self-titled track could go entirely unnoticed, and here we begin to see Yellow Eyes employing textures from dungeon synth, neofolk, and even Tolkien-esque landscapes. Yet Yellow Eyes' identity remains. Will hasn't suddenly turned into Dead Can Dance mastermind Brendan Perry, keeping hold of his venomous bark in spite of the music's less obvious aggression. Nor has the band shirked what makes it distinct–the Skarstads' guitars still writhe and intertwine into the uncanny, only this time round much of it is drenched in reverb and delay instead of distortion. Underneath, the murky power chords and bass move much slower, evoking the spirit of drone and doom. Meanwhile, percussion is purposefully sparse, first reminding us of its presence on "Winter is Looking" with a thumping bass drum punctuating the track's dirge-like qualities. Then, as the synth line reaches a climax, Rekevics' telltale fills smash the relative tranquility and dive into a blast beat for the first "black metal" moment of Master's Murmur, while a strummed acoustic guitar and piano guide the piece to its conclusion. "Irrlicht" is borderline ritual music where the realms of dungeon synth and drone collide effortlessly, and a disembodied voice casts spells through the smoke of a sorcerer's cauldron. "When Jackie's Lamps Have Showed" snaps from dark ambient into a swirling madness of acoustic guitars and bells. Bells are a recurring theme in Yellow Eyes' work, whether they come from field recordings or it's the sound of the guitars themselves as on "Old Alpine Pang" from Immersion Trench Reverie. Old habits die hard, and "The Ritual is Gone" sees Rekevics' savage blasts return for an ecstatic melding of ambient, noise, black metal, and, yes, more bells, underpinned by church organ-like synth. The whole album oozes a sense of the occult and folk horror, whether it's the incantations of the lyrics, the bleating of sheep (or goats) in the next field over on "Gold Door to Blindness," or the cover art of a faceless hooded figure among crops. All this could hint at what's to come from Yellow Eyes next because, as you may or may not be pleased to know, Master's Murmur is one in a pair of companion albums. Per the band, it is "the first of two complementary releases conjoined in spirit, a surreal, sinister industrial folk prelude to an upcoming full-band LP" in 2024. With Master's Murmur already displaying Yellow Eyes at their most confident, experimental, and discerning, we cannot wait to hear what follows. Richard Currie Label: Sibir Records

The third (and best) album from the Deftones, finally back in stock. A quantum leap for the Nu-Metal genre, far too complex for big shorts rock bands like Korn or Limp Bizkit to even come close. Incredible depth of care was put into this record production, matching the quality of songwriting that shifted the band firmly into the realms of critical adoration. Obvious reference points would be the darker end of The Cure's catalogue or rock masterpieces like Tool's Undertow / Soundgarden's Superunknown, but this is a singular piece of work that may not be possible for any band to match. A high watermark for metal. Label: Maverick Barcode: 093624964667
  • The Hole Truth... and Nothing Butt is the first compilation album by American punk band Butthole Surfers, officially released in March 1995. All songs were written by Butthole Surfers, except for "Come Together" and "Hurdy Gurdy Man". The album was originally released on CD in 1994 by bootleg label Totonka Records. A collection of previously un-bootlegged material put together by a fan, it offers a mix of studio demos and live recordings, as well as a portion of a radio interview. The band liked the compilation enough that they reissued it through Trance Syndicate in 1995, also packaging a Butthole Surfers sticker along with it. The two demos, "Butthole Surfer" and "Something," were recorded in 1983. Of the live tracks, four were taped in 1985, three in 1986, two in 1988, one each in 1989 and 1991, and three in 1993. THE EX | 27 passports | LP

    18.00 incl. tax
The Ex released their previous regular studio album as a 4-piece (Catch My Shoe) in 2010. While that might seem like a long stretch, their schedule since then tells you another story. The band also released a second album with Ethiopian legend Getatchew Mekuria, and another one with Brass Unbound, featuring several of their friends from the realm of free improvisation. On top of that, there were also a few 7″ split singles, several phenomenal birthday festivals and a lavish photo book that was published as a tribute to the late Getatchew Mekuria in 2016. But now there’s new music. With the unmistakable “Ex energy”. The three-pronged guitar approach is still as exciting as ever, with the guitars of Andy Moor, Terrie Hessels and Arnold de Boer creating tense, interlocking webs of connections and drummer Katherina Bornefeld pushing the band with dancing, hypnotic patterns. There are some remnants of their African adventures, but most of all, this is a return to the power of The Ex as a unit that effortlessly juggles noisy/disjointed guitar parts, trance-like grooves, defiant chanting and a relentless, infectious drive. Colourful and fierce at the same time, 27 Passports once again expands their horizon and enriches their sound, while remaining true to the core of their philosophy: “Forward In All Directions!”. Includes 36-page photo book with photos by Andy Moor. Recorded at Electric Monkey Studio, Amsterdam, by Kasper Frenkel. October 16 + 17, 2017. Label: EX Records

FINALLY!!! Re-released on vinyl after almost 40 years! Tumult is the third album by Dutch anarchist punk rock band The Ex, originally released in 1983. "Music of malcontents, rebellion and impotent rage about everything that is wrong in this world... But they're quite aware themselves, too, that reality is not always black and white... What they lack in pure originality, gets compensated by their passion and devotion. In a time during which many of their contemporaries have switched their brain off, the primeval music of The Ex sounds really beneficial." (The Ex Records)

Κυκλοφορεί σε LP και Digital album από την Ιnner Ear. * * * Just three months after the release of the EP "Βεντάλιες Και Σιδερογροθιές (Fans And Iron Fists)", relenteless MAZOHA, strikes again with his new album "Τώρα Χορός (Now Dance)", catching the thread musically, lyrically and emotionally from where he left it on his previous album, "PRTTHLTS”. As stated by the title and confirmed by the homonymous track and the tracks "Τσιχλόφουσκα (Chewing gum)" and "Ψυχολογικά Τραύματα Social Club (Psychological Traumas Social Club)", there is an even greater dancing mood, which stems from the thirst for relaxation. Those who have experienced the live gigs of MAZOHA know this feeling well. At the same time, in the songs "Ήρωες Πολλοί Αγάλματα Λίγα (Many Heroes Few Statues)", "Σαν Σκιάχτρο (Like A Scarecrow)" and "New York" the beats, the synths and the vocal lines are typical examples of the dark pop that characterizes his album "Bastardo". The tracklist is completed with two special tracks: "Ονειρεύομαι Μωρό Μου (Ι Dream Baby)" with the noise-shoegaze intro and the rap stormy vocals, a confessional and denouncing loop that could last forever, and finally "Το Πουτανάκι Σου (Your Little Whore)”, the love song of the album with a chewing gum refrain, flirting dangerously with trash, written to be heard late at night in all bars. An album of contrasts that dives from despair to redemption and from joy to sorrow, marrying darkness with light. The most MAZOHA album so far. Label: Inner Ear

  • Public Image Ltd. (PiL) announce their 11th studio album and first album in 8 years, End of World, to be released on 11th August 2023 on PiL Official via Cargo UK Distribution, followed by a 37-date UK and European Tour. The band began writing and recording End of World in 2018, during their 40th anniversary tour. After The Great Pause, the band regrouped in the studio and “there was just this massive explosion of ideas,” Lydon says. The result finds PiL set to release 13 of the best tracks they have ever written. The announcement comes with the release of new single Penge, which John describes as, “something of a mediaeval Viking epic.” Earlier this year, PiL released Hawaii, the most personal piece of songwriting and accompanying artwork that John Lydon has ever shared. The song is a love letter to John's wife of nearly 5 decades, Nora, who is living with Alzheimer’s. A pensive, personal yet universal love song that has resonated with many since its release in January, the song sees John reflecting on their lifetime well spent and in particular one of their happiest moments together in Hawaii. The powerfully emotional ballad is as close as John will ever come to bearing his soul. “It is dedicated to everyone going through tough times on the journey of life, with the person they care for the most,” John says. “It’s also a message of hope that ultimately love conquers all. As I say in the song, all journeys end and some begin again, but this is the beginning of a new journey with us. And, oddly enough, as bad as Alzheimer’s is, there are great moments of tenderness between us. And I tried to capture that in the song.” Celebrating their 40-year anniversary in 2018, the band is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time. PiL’s music and vision has earned them 5 UK Top 20 singles and 5 UK Top 20 albums. With a shifting line-up and unique sound - fusing rock, dance, folk, pop and dub – Lydon guided the band from their debut album First Issue in 1978 through to 1992’s That What Is Not, before a 17 year hiatus. Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009, touring extensively worldwide and releasing two critically acclaimed albums This is PiL in 2012 followed by their 10th studio album What The World Needs Now… in 2015, which peaked at number 29 in the official UK album charts and picked up fantastic acclaim from both press and public. (The album also peaked at number 3 in the official UK indie charts and number 4 in the official UK vinyl charts). What The World Needs Now… was self-funded by PiL and released on their own label ‘PiL Official’ via Cargo UK Distribution. In 2018 PiL celebrated their 40th anniversary with a career-spanning box set and documentary, both called ‘The Public Image Is Rotten’, and a 32-date UK/Europe tour, plus dates in Japan. John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith continue as PiL. They are the longest stable line-up in the band's history and continue to challenge and thrive. • “Στο σκοτάδι”/‘’in the darkness’’ is the third full-length album Selofan release on Fabrika. Once you put this record on, you feel like being grabbed by the hand and led through the darkest subterranean corridors to a sweaty nightclub. Romanticism and danger are in the air, a nihilistic vision of beauty. claustrophobia, separation, pre paid feelings, leaving and letting go is what this record is about, making you want to cry and dance at the same time, mixing the most sentimental strings with punk bass lines, synthesized trumpets, the finest analog wave with circus sounds. the voice half-speaking, half-singing, expressing either the strongest emotion or the complete absence of it, tells a story or remembers a dream, powerful and tender. Again the sentiments are expressed in different languages, which is meanwhile a characteristic of the band, the b-side surprisingly this time completely in Greek. The whole instrumentation is live and all analog, recorded at their home studio in Athens and mastered by Chris “snake” Manolitsis, the man behind most of the memorable bands to emerge from the Greek new wave scene of the 80s. This record is a manifest of love! Label: Fabrika Barcode: 852669411099
  • Through varied experimental synth-scapes conjured with keen ears for sound design, production, and theatrical aesthetics, Selofan rest not on the laurels of just creating highly danceable coldwave infused music, but with together with Joanna Pavlidou’s haunting vocals, and Dimitris Pavlidis’ throbbing bass guitar, and modular synth compositions, the pair conjure whole other worlds and narratives throughout each album and music video they create. Thus far the Selofan have released 5 studio albums, issued through their own legendary label they curate themselves: Fabrika Records. Through their Fabrika family, Selofan have championed such acts as Lebanon Hanover, and She Past Away, aiding these bands in becoming two of the most popular Darkwave acts worldwide. As Selofan’s fifth studio album, Vitrioli, from 2018, is a testament to the tragedy of life. The Greek duo, Joanna Pavlidou and Dimitris Pavlidis, who recorded the album in the Fabrika Records home studio, continue on in their poetic, but heartbreaking, music set to a dance beat. Between languages (Greek, English, German, and Spanish), Selofan feels on the brink of mania with Vitroli. However, the madness is controlled, the songs are restrained hysterics that culminate into the alchemic perfection of the band’s specific moody sound. Limited Black Edition of 300. Label: Fabrika Barcode: 8016670156826
  • Once you enter Selofans’ ”Cine Romance” you will never want to leave again. You will be transferred in a new-wave world of playful irony, electronic melodies and experimentation. Once we go through the gates of this Cinema we shall forget our fears in the sound of a cinematic track inspired by David Lynchs’ movie ”Dune”. After this catharsis we are ready to enter the dark, mutant world of -according to our opinion- the currenlty most visionary band emerging from the Greek underground. Selofans’ world is multi sided, you may feel directly connected to it and the next moment you may lose the ground under your feet. Polymorphism comes from Greece and has always been a characteristic for Selofans’ music. The album is singular in concept but varies genres: dark-wave treasures, synth-punk spells, melodic saxophone fairy-tales and early industrial beats coexist in harmony, while a hallucinating voice sings or whispers poems of great emotional tension in different languages, exposing uncomfortable truths. This album transfers a powerfully original fusion of energies and is meant to be only for the wild at heart! A limited to 300 copies future-classic! includes download link, inner sleeve with the lyrics and sticker. Label: Fabrika Barcode: 8016670156796

It almost seems churlish to regard Celtic Frost as one of the great extreme metal bands, because they were so much more than that. It’s better to hail them as among the finest extreme and experimental bands of the 1980s. Refusing ever to do what was expected or demanded, the band constantly changed musical direction, always brought in surprising influences, and kept people guessing as to where they might venture next. Their catalogue of albums is formidable and unmatched. Each is not only unique, but part of an entire tapestry that only now can be appreciated for being a remarkable part of music history. Despite, or maybe because of, constant turmoil on so many fronts, Celtic Frost achieved an artistic level few others would even have dared to dream of aspiring towards. They climbed high because they were never afraid to fall. Which is why the band are now rightly regarded as icons, and iconoclasts. • Oakland, California dark punk trio TENSION SPAN unites Noah Landis (Neurosis, Christ On Parade) on vocals, Geoff Evans (Asunder) playing guitar and synth, and Matt Parrillo (Dystopia, Kicker) providing bass, guitar, synth, and additional vocals. Infusing classic elements of punk and post-punk, fans of Killing Joke, T.S.O.L., Subhumans, Conflict, Rudimentary Peni and The Wraith will be instantaneously addicted to TENSION SPAN’s dire urgency and infectious hooks. During the isolation of Covid, the newly formed trio crafted The Future Died Yesterday, an album that sounds both varied and cohesive, combining musical and emotional heaviness with melody, samples, and synth. Sonically unique and riveting, The Future Died Yesterday sees the band ripping through thirteen doomed anthems. Drawing influence and inspiration from the dark punk and post punk of the late 70s and early 80s, the sensibility and DIY approach of the UK anarcho-punk movement and the energy and immediacy of the early-mid 90s Bay Area punk scene, Tension Span has created music reflecting the bleak reality of this time of socio-political collapse, increasing economic precarity, creeping authoritarianism, and viral biological and psychological pathogens that are decimating the lives of millions. The Future Died Yesterday was recorded by the band and mixed by Noah Landis, then mastered by Bob Weston and Greg Obis at Chicago Mastering Service, and completed with artwork by Neil Grimmer, John Yates, and Matt Parrillo. Greed is the third studio album by American experimental rock band Swans.[5][6] It was released in 1986, through record label K.422. Greed marks the slow turning point for Swans away from the harsh, brutal noise rock of prior releases, and is also the first Swans album to contain contributions from Jarboe. (Stonehenge)
