Legendary Pankrti (Bastards) was formed in Lublana, Slovenija (ex-Yu) in 1977 and was one of the strongest punk rock bands from Yugoslavia. After some initial but very shocking concerts, it was right time to release the first vinyl single, so they recorded 4 songs in studio Audiomark in Gorica, Italy. Shortly after that, two of songs became the single (Lepi into prazni / Lublana je bulana SKUC, december 1978) and the other tow were used on the ''Novi punk val" compilation in 1981.But many did not know that Pankrti already had a demo before Gorica recording, made by two songs ("Metka'' and ''Sam si kriv") that were recorded during the summer 1978 in a studio in Lublana. This demo recording was until today almost forgotten, and now, after thirtysix years they final see the face of light again! Pankrti was best known (in addition to their energetic gigs) for their strong inspirational and highly engaged political poetry and their success paved the way for many new punk bands. Their influence on the Yugoslavian and especially, Slovenian punk scene was enormous. The artwork replicates the original but with bonus insert and it features the two songs of the original version plus the two that appeared on the forgotten demo, all of them especially remastered for this release! Channel 3, aka CH3, was formed in 1980 in suburban Cerritos, about 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles, with frontman Mike Magrann, guitarist Kimm Gardener, bassist Larry Kelly and drummer Mike Burton. Signing to Posh Boy in 1981, their eponymous EP had the hit ‘Manzanar,’ which was championed by John Peel on the BBC. Posh Boy founder Robbie Fields was in the producer’s chair for their excellent debut, Fear of Life, a blistering punk assault on American values. Originally released on the band's own Verrecords (they made up different label names with each record), the LP falls squarely within a punk idiom and, at the same time, shows this influential Dutch group's restless energy. Terrie Ex's guitar serves up vectors of percussive pulse, fraying the edges of the music's squared-off rhythms. Vocalist G.W. Sok – an anarchist Dziga Vertov with a mic – observes, declaims and condemns across a set of interrelated political concerns that would return in Ex-music for years to come. Adventurous southern California punk trio Agent Orange was the first band to mix surf rock with punk. The group was formed in1l979 in Placentia, a small town close to Fullerton and Anaheim, by frontman Mike Palm on guitar and lead vocals, Steve Soto on bass and Scott Miller on drums. That early line up recorded the classic version of "Bloodstains" in 1979 as a demo produced by Daniel R. van Patten (of the group Berlin). A year later it was included on the seminal Rodney On The Roq compilation album released by Posh Boy Records. Meanwhile James Levesque had replaced Steve Soto (Adolescents) and the new line up released their own self produced and self released 7" ep in 1980. A year later, the group signed with Robbie Fields' Posh Boy Records for their debut LP Living In Darkness, co-produced by Fields and former Simpletones guitarist Jay Lansford. The album was recorded at Brian Elliott’s store front studio in North Hollywood (a few years before Elliott struck gold writing Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach”). A milestone in California Punk Rock history. Legend has it that The Blood were "discovered" by Cockney Rejects vocalist Jeff "Stinky Turner" Geggus on the top deck of a bus in Charlton. What they were all doing on the South East London bus has never been fully explained! Still, it was Jeff who introduced Coming Blood (as they were then known) to Sounds journalist Garry Bushell and, suitably impressed, he offered them a spot on the fourth volume of the Oi! compilation series, Oi! Oi! That's Yer Lot (1982). It wasn't just the punk scene that took to the band, the more open-minded in the metal fraternity also embraced them, making them one of the first punk-metal crossover bands, equally at home with followers of the Anti Nowhere League or Motorhead. Though the initial career of The Blood may only have been brief, the two singles, 12", and album they released have all stood the test of time, many of the songs later covered by bands not even born when they were first recorded! The first solo album by the then former Adolescents guitar player Rikk Agnew, produced by Thom Wilson and originally released in 1982. Agnew played guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and even sang on this Orange County, CA punk classic that features one of the best punk rock songs ever written, "O.C. Life." This is for you, Fullerton. It was produced by Agnew, and co-produced by the then-Adolescents producer Thom Wilson. Agnew played all the instruments on the album. The band D.I., which Agnew joined in 1983, included cover versions of the songs "O.C. Life", and "Falling Out" from this album for their debut album, Ancient Artifacts, which was released in 1985.
