US Import. Death were a black power trio from Detroit who released a single in 1975 and pretty much disappeared after that. Inspired by the raw Rock 'N' Roll of the Stooges and MC5, the three brothers moved away from their Funk/R&B roots into a new realm.... for the Whole World to See features the two songs from the single ('Keep on Knocking' and 'Politicians in My Eyes') and five other tracks. MOS DEF SAYS: "These dudes were pre-Sex Pistols, pre-Bad Brains, pre-all that shit, and nobody knows about them. I don't understand how the world could forget them. You really should read up on the history of this Rock n' Roll artifact. A google search will help; something like "death band punk 1974"... The album reminds me of these bands: MC5, The Jam, Zero Boys, Early Police, RadioBirdMan - to name a few. If any of those bands are at your top 10, then this is a must have piece in your collection. NOTE: They are also selling it on vinyl on here!!! The story to this piece of work is very interesting not to mention inspiring to say the least. The songs? All are hits in my mind. I just wish there were more!" Label: Drag City Records Barcode: 0781484038726
  • A pure shot of abrasive punk/rock 'n' roll with a hint of working class Oi!, Blitz were among the most influential punk bands ever. It was Gary Bushell (who wrote for "Sounds" and was later dubbed the God Father of Oi!) who brought the band to the attention of his friend Chris Berry, who had just set up No Future records with a bank loan and high hopes. No Future 001 catalog (and Blitz's debut release) was a 4 track EP titled "All Out Attack", a 20,000 copy bestseller that made the label's fortune, later to become the most representative of the whole UK82 movement. Its follow-up, "Never Surrender", reached number 2 in the Indie charts, while their 3rd EP, "Warriors", showed their slight move towards the singalong-style of classic OI!. Before shifting to a more new wave-influenced vein right by the end of 1983, they managed to reach number 2 in the charts with a fourth and last 'punk' single, "New Age". This 1980-1983 complete retrospective features all four aforementioned singles along with their very first recording session from 1980, the legendary 'Timebomb' demos, and 4 cuts from the "Voice Of A Generation" demos!  Label: Radiation Records Barcode: 889397101343
  • *LIMITED EDITION INCLUDES 60X40 CM POSTER AND HYPE STICKER. Formed in 1979 in the northern English town of Fleetwood, Lancashire (a former major fishing port that had declined since the 1960s), One Way System was one of the most highly-rated ‘street punk’ groups that spun off from the British hardcore and Oi scenes. Mowhawk-sporting lead singer Gavin Whyte was initially joined by guitarist Craig Halliday, bassist Gaz Buckley and rapid-fire drummer Tez McDonald; the early demos of “Jerusalem,” “Spokesmen For Teenagers” and “1980s” included here were cut with that lineup, before former Zyklon B member David “Crabby” Ross joined as second guitarist, yielding the incendiary single “Stab The Judge” and the No Entry EP, issued by Blackpool’s Lightbeat Records in 1981. Halliday later quit the group and when McDonald joined The Fits, accomplished drummer Tommy Couch brought a totally different musical dimension, his command of the kit well beyond the abilities of most of his contemporaries. In addition to the demos and the Lightbeat material, this compilation also collects the singles and EPs issued by Cherry Red’s Anagram subsidiary between 1982-84, including the inaugural 45, “Give Us A Future.” Tracks 1-3 from 'No Entry' 7", Lightbeat 1982. Tracks 4-5 from 1982 single, Anagram. Tracks 6-11 from 1983 singles, Anagram. Tracks 12-15 from 'Visions Of Angels' 7", Anagram, 1984. Tracks 16-18 are 1982 demos. (Radiation Records)

Too Tough to Die is the eighth studio album by the American punk rock band the Ramones. It was released on October 1, 1984, and is the first Ramones record to feature Richie Ramone on drums. With ex-member Tommy Ramone producing, the recording process was similar to that of the band's 1976 self-titled debut album. Likewise, the record's style—both lyrically and compositionally—saw the band returning to their roots. The photograph on the album cover, which features silhouettes of the band members, resulted from a "lucky accident" after photographer George DuBose's camera malfunctioned. • December 2019 marks the 40 year anniversary of an important record in our lives, AK79. Within the grooves of this historical landmark compilation lies a connection to our musical whakapapa as New Zealanders and music lovers. A defining record, having captured a raw snapshot of the punk subculture in Auckland during the late 70s, this much-loved compilation is a living, breathing statement of what came before today. To mark this very special occassion, Flying Nun Records pays tribute to those ragged and rambunctious years by presenting AK79 40th Anniversary Edition Reissue, due in-stores throughout New Zealand on December 13th. Presented in a myriad of forms; on limited edition red vinyl, standard black vinyl and CD, we can celebrate this iconic cornerstone of alternative kiwi rock history with this special anniversary edition. Featuring new liner notes written by Ripper Records’ Bryan Staff, the 2019 reissue will feature all songs ever featured on any version of AK79 for a complete look at its recorded history. About AK79 Raw, unfiltered, shambolic madness. The vision to capture the Auckland scene began with Bryan Staff (Head of Ripper Records and Radio DJ at the time) who saw reason to capture the music coming out of the local punk venues of the time such as Windsor Castle and Zwines. Originally released by Ripper Records in December 1979, bands that featured on the original pressing included The Swingers, The Scavengers, The Primmers, Proud Scum, Toy Love and The Terrorways. The musical movement captured on record was an abrasive, empowered response to the overindulgent progressive rock and glam era of the 70s. The initial pressing, with its iconic black and white cover designed by Terence Hogan was limited to 500 copies, to be later reissued on vinyl and cassette through CBS. During the 40 years since AK79’s first release, the record took on a life of its own. Those original 500 pressings became a rare and coveted collectors item, and somewhat of an “urban myth” on the vinyl market. So the story goes, when the original master recordings of AK79 were discarded in 1982, it only created further demand for this enigmatic record. Responding to the call, an expanded version of AK79 arose, released on CD by Simon Grigg and Roger Shepherd as a joint release by Propeller Records and Flying Nun Records in 1993. This time there were some late additions, including tracks from The Suburban Reptiles, The Spelling Mistakes, The Features and The Marching Girls, along with additional tracks from the original bands on the first pressing. This particular reissue was remastered and mixed by Grigg, and came bundled with additional liner notes by Grigg, Staff and The Terrorways’ own Kerry Buchanan. In November 2008, a bootlegged 2 LP version would come to life for a very special reunion gig in Auckland which involved The Scavengers, The Spelling Mistakes and the first performances from The Terrorways and Proud Scum since 1980 in a rare event. At the time, it was sold at the show with unreleased tracks and a 20-page booklet. Six years later, the AK79 compilation was honoured in its many forms with the IMNZ Classic Record award, presented at the Taite Music Prize ceremony. 40 years on, the spirit of the AK79 still packs a punch and the feeling captured in these recordings are as relevant as ever. • Formed in 1976 in Edinburgh, Scotland, John Peel favourites The Rezillos were viewed as a punk act simply because they emerged at a specific time in the history of rock. But there was so much more to The Rezillos and their music. Branding themselves a “new wave beat group”, The Rezillos’ music lacked the nihilism and social commentary of many of their counterparts, replacing this with an irreverent glam rock image and a love of science fiction, B-movie, comic book and campy girl group iconography that set them apart from their musical peers. Initially performing mainly ‘50s and ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll covers at their live shows, Rezillos guitarist and future Human League band member – Jo Callis – began penning their own original songs, and soon after came the release of their highly acclaimed debut LP, Can’t Stand The Rezillos released in 1978. The album includes the UK top twenty hit "Top Of The Pops", as well as several cover versions of 1960s songs: "Glad All Over" (Dave Clark Five), "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight" (Fleetwood Mac), and "I Like It" (Gerry and the Pacemakers). It was produced by the acclaimed Bob Clearmountain in collaboration with Tony Bongiovi. Label: Survival Research

Let's Start a War, or Let's Start a War... (Said Maggie One Day), is the third album by the punk band The Exploited, released in 1983 through Pax Records. The title refers to Margaret Thatcher's decision to go to war over the Falkland Islands in 1982, suggesting that she did so almost on a whim. The controversial war was fodder for many protest songs in the punk movement. Label: Radiation Records

It was the summer of 1976 when Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies and Captain Sensible recruited guitarist and songwriter Brian James, they played their first gig supporting the Sex Pistols at the 100 Club and quickly signed to Stiff Records and began writing the very first chapter of the punk rock history books. Their debut 7” - New Rose – was written by Brian James and backed by a proto-thrash version of The Beatles’ Help. It was recorded by Stiff’s in-house producer, Nick Lowe and set the punk dream alight at exactly 9.00am when record shops opened for business on 22 October 1976, stealing a march on the Pistols by becoming what is widely acknowledged as the very first punk record ever released. The band really came into their own with their second single - Neat Neat Neat - which had two cuts on the B-side, Stab Yor Back and Singalongascabies. Produced, like New Rose, by Nick Lowe, the vinyl had a message from one band member scratched in the run-out groove: “this is your captain speaking...” So what were Captain Sensible’s favourite acts on Stiff, one journalist asked him in 2007? “I wasn't interested!” he insists. “It was mainly pub rock in the early days, which we despised and sneered at in our young and snotty way…” After a special 7” - Stretcher Case Baby - cut to give away at gigs celebrating the band’s first anniversary, they went back into the studio, this time with Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason at the controls. Third single Problem Child was written by Brian James with Rat Scabies and featured new recruit Lu Edmonds on guitar. An incendiary two minutes of the band in their prime, it failed to crack the UK top 40 but did make number 27 in NME’s alternative singles chart. By the end of 1977, the Damned were ready to part with Stiff, just as Brian James and Lu Edmonds were ready to part with The Damned. Their last single was Don’t Cry Wolf, backed with another Nick Mason-produced track, One Way Love. This LP includes first seven The Damned's 7's on one LP! Includes double-sided insert. A1 - A2 "New Rose" 7'' (1976) A3 - A5 "Neat Neat Neat" (1977) A6 - A7 "Problem Child" (1977) A8 - A9 "Stretcher Case Baby" (1977) A10 "Don't Cry Wolf / One Way Love" (1977) B1 "Don't Cry Wolf / One Way Love" (1977) B2 - B3 "Smash It Up" (1979) B4 - B6 "Love Song" (1979) (Zero Thoughts Records/Unofficial Release)
  • This LP went in and out of print quickly in 1985 shortly before the Varukers' first breakup. Unlike the band's earlier UK82 style, this record captures Varukers taking on some of the metal influence that was sweeping UK hardcore at the time. Powerful and energetic hardcore with metallic undertones, this record is more in line with Antisystem, Antisect, or Sacrilege than say Partisans or Abrasive Wheels. Now available again on vinyl. (Radiation Records)
  • This LP includes five The Damned's 7's on one LP! Includes double-sided insert. A1 - A3 "I Just Can't Be Happy Today" 7'' (1980) A4 - A6 "The History Of The World - Part I" (1980) A6 - B1 "Wait For The Blackout" (1980) B2 - B4 "White Rabbit" (1980) B5 - B7 "There Ain't No Sanity Clause" (1980) (Zero Thoughts Records/Unofficial Release)
