The classic 1977 punk album - remastered and repackaged for its 40th anniversary. Now with 20-page booklet in a 'remus' card gatefold sleeve with notes and lyrics. Sole surviving Heartbreaker Walter Lure is touring 'LAMF' with an all-star line-up. * In 1977 this classic punk album had a sound flaw and wasn't heard properly until 1994 - after both former New York Dolls Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan had died. Now songs like 'Born To Lose' and 'Chinese Rocks' are acclaimed as punk anthems. The album has been remastered and repackaged to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Includes 20-page booklet with the background story of recording in punk London, and lyrics, in a card gatefold sleeve. The sole surviving Heartbreaker, Walter Lure, has been playing the album with an all-star line-up (members of Blondie, Replacements, MC5). * "That 'L.A.M.F.', the only album by Johnny Thunders' swaggering, smacked-up post New York Dolls outfit, The Heartbreakers, is one of New York punk's defining artefacts (despite being recorded in Britain), is beyond dispute. 12 songs that put the guitarist's abiding passions - Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, Phil Spector and Shadow Morton girl groups, glam, garage, trash and junk - in perfect, speedy collision." - Damien Love, Uncut mag, 9/10. Originally released by Meantime Records in 1989, “Cherry Knowle” has been long out of print. “Cherry Knowle” is Leatherface's first full length and is considered to be a hardcore classic. While their sound would coalesce into majestic post punk thunder two albums later on Mush, this album offers a preview of their later sound on a few cuts, particularly on "Colorado Joe/Leningrad Vlad" and "Discipline". There's also the added attraction of Frankie Stubbs' soulful rasp degenerating into an undecipherable growl on "Heaven" (a cover of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"), something he would later do to great effect on The Last's "Patrick Kills Me" and a couple of other songs. Leatherface is one of the most influential punk rock bands of the 90’s combining complex melody, riffs and poetic lyricism, some consider them to be one of the greatest bands to ever do it. Leatherface’s first classic album “Cherry Knowle” has been remastered for a beautiful reissue. (Little Rocket Records)

MISFITS | static age | LP

    19.00 incl. tax
Static Age is an album by the American horror punk band Misfits, recorded in 1978. Although it was the first album the band ever recorded, it was not released in its entirety until 1996. In August 1977 The Misfits released their debut single "Cough/Cool" on Blank Records, a label operated by the band's lead vocalist Glenn Danzig. Several months later Mercury Records issued a Pere Ubu record on their own Blank Records imprint, unaware that Danzig held a trademark on the name. The parties came to a settlement, with Danzig accepting thirty hours of studio time for his band in exchange for the rights to the Blank Records name. In January and February 1978 the Misfits, then consisting of Danzig, guitarist Franché Coma, bassist Jerry Only, and drummer Mr. Jim, recorded seventeen songs at C.I. Recordings in New York City with engineer and producer Dave Achelis. Due to time constraints, the band recorded the songs live in the studio with only a few takes and very few overdubs. Ultimately fourteen of the seventeen tracks produced during the sessions were assembled for the Misfits' anticipated debut album, to be titled Static Age. However, the band were unable to find a record label interested in releasing the album. Instead, the Misfits released four of the new tracks ("Bullet", "We Are 138", "Attitude", and "Hollywood Babylon") as the "Bullet" single in June 1978 on Danzig's newly created label Plan 9 Records (the same four tracks, along with a remixed version of "Last Caress", were reissued on the Beware EP in January 1980). While on tour in Canada that October, guitarist Franché Coma abruptly quit the band, followed by drummer Mr. Jim at the tour's conclusion. With the band's future far from certain, the Static Age recordings were shelved indefinitely. Danzig recruited new members Bobby Steele and Joey Image and the Misfits shifted their style away from the traditional punk rock of the Static Age sessions to a more horror film-inspired direction. None of the remaining Static Age tracks were released during the early era of the band, though a re-recorded version of "Teenagers from Mars" appeared on the "Horror Business" single in 1979, and a live version of "We Are 138" appeared on the Evilive EP in 1982. After the band's breakup in 1983, Danzig overdubbed guitar and bass tracks on nine of the unreleased Static Age tracks ("Static Age", "TV Casualty", "Hybrid Moments", "Come Back", "Some Kinda Hate", "Theme for a Jackal", "Angelfuck", "Spinal Remains", and "She"), releasing these new versions on the 1985 Legacy of Brutality compilation album. Misfits followed in 1986, reissuing the tracks "Bullet" and "Hollywood Babylon" as well as the overdubbed version of "She". Collection II (1995) reissued "We Are 138" and "Attitude", the remixed version of "Last Caress", and the previously unreleased "Return of the Fly". With the release of the Misfits box set in 1996, the complete original Static Age album saw the light of day for the first time, eighteen years after the songs were recorded. The box set included all three compilation albums as well as a disc with all fourteen Static Age tracks that had been mixed in 1978. The remaining three tracks, "She", "Spinal Remains", and "In the Doorway", were mixed by Alan Douches and Tom Bejgrowicz on February 24, 1997, at West West Side Music and were included when Static Age was finally released as a standalone album that July. "In the Doorway" had never before been released, as it had remained unmixed on the master tapes for nineteen years. The album also included an unlisted eighteenth track consisting of a collage of studio banter and outtakes. Includes double sided insert. (D&V Records/Unofficial Release)

  • If the Misfits were one of the greatest punk bands then Walk Among Us released in 1982 is perhaps one of the greatest records in punk history. While Static Age and Earth AD showcased a band searching for an identity like a vampire for its next victim, Walk Among Us is almost sheer perfection. With a solidified lineup, fully grown-out devillocks (the Misfits trademark long spike of hair in the front) and the stabilizing presence of the somewhat pedestrian but agile arthur googy on drums, uber-misfit Glenn Danzig was finally able to match his zombie-elvis to a worthy musical foil. From the manic opening of 20 Eyes to the monster football chorus of Braineaters, there is nothing less than a sublime moment on this album from start to finish. Astro Zombies or I Turned into a Martian sound like songs to raise the dead by. a special bonus is perhaps the tenderest love song to decapitation (Skulls) in recent memory. Label: Miss999/Unofficial

From its onset, the tube-crunch surf guitar intro of "Rat Patrol," Throb Throb sizzles like grease in a frying pan until it comes to a halt some 30 minutes later. Like the tank on its cover, Throb is largely informed by an antagonism that rails against the Reaganism that helped spawn intelligent '80s post-punk groups much like Naked Raygun. Titles like "Surf Combat," a song about the effects of napalm at popular beaches, "Gear," a braggadocio commentary about nuclear weapons and the arms race, and "Managua," in which troops march to their impending death, exemplify Throb's political mentality and musical gravity, which are a direct result of the '80s Cold War. Naked Raygun sends the songs up with a sense-raping frazzle and dissonance. While not as furious as Hüsker Dü or as angry as the Misfits, Throb is no less vehement, and ever the more working-class. With comprehensible lyrics everyone can understand and chant, and a plethora of race-against-time guitar melodies, Throb is rare in that it appeals to academics as well as rednecks, straight-shooters as well as in-the-know punks. Borrowing from the big-guitar sound of English heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden and carving catchy melodies usually reserved for Top 40 pop songs into firebrands like "I Don't Know" and "Libido," Naked Raygun assures Throb's place as a classic that is forever ahead of its time, regardless of when it is heard. • Understand? is the fourth album by Chicago punk legends band Naked Raygun, released in 1989 through Caroline Records. After the visceral energy of their debut, 'Throb Throb', and the subtle refinement displayed on 'Jettison', the Chicago hardcore label rejecters did little to aid their claim with the brawny, scrappy 'Understand?' Packed with an onslaught of riffs, pummelling d-beat blasts and gang vocals galore, while rife with unkempt cynicism and aggression on the anthemic anti-social title-track or the snapshot of 'The Sniper Song,' Naked Raygun would only further cement their status as punk all timers on this seminal fourth record. • Originally released in 1983 on UK punk label Razor Records and now available domestically for the first time in the USA. Take the ferocity and sloganeering of The Clash, and the call to arms of Stiff Little Fingers, and add the charm and rhythmic power of the Ramones, and you get this magical album. Loaded with witty and humorous songs about teenage frustrations, the complexities of relationships, and serious subjects as well, such as racial tensions, equality, and boredom. • Formed in 1979 in new town Harlow, The Newtown Neurotics are one of the most under rated but essential punk bands. Kick Out! is a 15 track round up of their first six singles taking in the years 1979 to 1984. The first two singles Hypocrite and When The Oil Runs Out were melodic nuggets released on their own No Wonder label. Both of these singles were written prior to the election of the Thatcher monster. The horror of this event changed what was the non-political writing style of Steve's lyrics into the other extreme, and so in June 1982 Kick Out The Tories was released on CNT records. Sadly 38 years later, the lyrics are most poignant and needed than ever. The band continued releasing single after single from the painfully personal to the politically pertinent, all done with intelligence and style. Also included is Andy Is A Corporatist / Mindless Version taken from the Son of Oi! compilation. The album comes with a 32 page booklet of archive - photos, reviews, interviews and more and was conceived to be released alongside the Documentary of the same name about the band's history. This classic punk album from these Scots was originally released in 1990, and has been unavailable for years now. 11 cuts of anarcho punk full of ecological issues, anger and Earth power... and classic anarcho pie receipe! "This album was originally released as a vinyl LP back in 1990 on the Words of Warning label. It was a small DIY punk label run by a friend of ours from Wales called Karl. He released quite a few good records until one of his bands got signed to EMI. Although they kept their feet on the ground it seemed that their "success" went to his head a bit and he got- a taste for the commercial "music business". That's something that has never interested us and we totally fail to see any attraction in that whole plastic and rotten world. Anyway, to cut a long story, Karl started to rip off the bands and eventually ended up as a dodgy drum and bass promoter in Bristol - money corrupts. Then a few years ago he re-released this LP on a CD in a really shitty cover with a booklet full of mistakes and no decent sleeve notes or artwork and pocketed the proceeds. So many folks have kept asking about these songs though that we thought it would be good to have this stuff available again but on a decent label and with decent artwork this time [...]" (Oi Polloi, Beltane 2006) (NNNW Records)

  • *LIMITED EDITION INCLUDES 60X40 CM POSTER AND HYPE STICKER. Formed in 1979 in the northern English town of Fleetwood, Lancashire (a former major fishing port that had declined since the 1960s), One Way System was one of the most highly-rated ‘street punk’ groups that spun off from the British hardcore and Oi scenes. Mowhawk-sporting lead singer Gavin Whyte was initially joined by guitarist Craig Halliday, bassist Gaz Buckley and rapid-fire drummer Tez McDonald; the early demos of “Jerusalem,” “Spokesmen For Teenagers” and “1980s” included here were cut with that lineup, before former Zyklon B member David “Crabby” Ross joined as second guitarist, yielding the incendiary single “Stab The Judge” and the No Entry EP, issued by Blackpool’s Lightbeat Records in 1981. Halliday later quit the group and when McDonald joined The Fits, accomplished drummer Tommy Couch brought a totally different musical dimension, his command of the kit well beyond the abilities of most of his contemporaries. In addition to the demos and the Lightbeat material, this compilation also collects the singles and EPs issued by Cherry Red’s Anagram subsidiary between 1982-84, including the inaugural 45, “Give Us A Future.” Tracks 1-3 from 'No Entry' 7", Lightbeat 1982. Tracks 4-5 from 1982 single, Anagram. Tracks 6-11 from 1983 singles, Anagram. Tracks 12-15 from 'Visions Of Angels' 7", Anagram, 1984. Tracks 16-18 are 1982 demos. (Radiation Records)

  • Legendary Pankrti (Bastards) was formed in Lublana, Slovenija (ex-Yu) in 1977 and was one of the strongest punk rock bands from Yugoslavia. After some initial but very shocking concerts, it was right time to release the first vinyl single, so they recorded 4 songs in studio Audiomark in Gorica, Italy. Shortly after that, two of songs became the single (Lepi into prazni / Lublana je bulana SKUC, december 1978) and the other tow were used on the ''Novi punk val" compilation in 1981.But many did not know that Pankrti already had a demo before Gorica recording, made by two songs ("Metka'' and ''Sam si kriv") that were recorded during the summer 1978 in a studio in Lublana. This demo recording was until today almost forgotten, and now, after thirtysix years they final see the face of light again! Pankrti was best known (in addition to their energetic gigs) for their strong inspirational and highly engaged political poetry and their success paved the way for many new punk bands. Their influence on the Yugoslavian and especially, Slovenian punk scene was enormous. The artwork replicates the original but with bonus insert and it features the two songs of the original version plus the two that appeared on the forgotten demo, all of them especially remastered for this release! 19 track round up of demos from The Partisans who formed in Bridgend, South Wales in 1978 and ended up being one of the cream of the UK82 punk movement. The first side of the LP has 10 tracks recorded in April 1980 in one day and like bands in their early years - it features mainly covers. It includes songs from the Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, UK Subs, Buzzcocks, UK Subs, Cockney Rejects and yes even more UK Subs. It also has primitive and raw versions of future Partisans classics No Time and I Don’t Give a Fuck. This demo has never been heard or released in any form. Less than a year later, February 1981 with Savage leaving and Louise joining on bass, the band have their most well know line up and are in full flow with a 6 track demo that was sent to No Future Records. It’s not surprising the label snapped them up straight away as the recordings are high energy and full of anthemic gems. The label released Police Story and Killing Machine as the debut 7” direct from these recordings. The other four tracks from this demo have never been released on vinyl. The last three tracks on the LP are the demos from 1982 recorded for No Future for the 17 Years of Hell Single. Rawer and more punk than the actual well know versions. All members of the bands helped in this release and shared original masters from which everything was remastered plus archive from their own personal collections including photos galore, handouts, ticket stubs, interviews etc which are included in the 28 Page Booklet. Seminal record for any punk in UK, China or whatever you live, fucker!!!! The Partisans were formed in Wales south in 1978 with the original line-up of Phil Staton-voice, Rob "Spike" Harrington-guitar and backing vocals, Andy Lealand-second guitar, Mark "Shark" Harris-drums and Mark "Savage" Parsons-bass. This line-up will change after one year as Parsons and Staton left the band and Rob took the voice position and entering Louise Wright as bass player. Basically influenced by Sex Pistols, The Clash and Ramones, The Partisans started to cover those bands and playing some own sounds too. On September 1981 they released their first 7" under the label No Future Records, a fantastic single that helped the band to tour with the likes of Blitz, The Ejected and Peter and the Test Tube Babies. On May 1982 they released their second 7" and when 1983 arrived the band's debut LP was out. This debut LP is one of the seminal steps on British punk for sure, a record that still sound fresh and strong after 3o years. Label: Puke n Vomit Records
