Mastodon present their anxiously awaited ninth full-length album, Hushed and Grim, via Reprise Records. Over the past year, the group recorded the album in their home town, collaborating with producer David Bottrill [Tool, Rush, Muse, Peter Gabriel] behind the board. As their most ambitious body of work to date, it consists of 15 tracks, surveying sonic landscapes of rock, psychedelia, punk, metal, alternative, and prog threaded together by the innately expressive musical interplay of these four musicians. At the same time, an atmosphere of loss, loneliness, and longing permeates through the trio of cathartic vocals as they musically say goodbye to old friend, confidant, and long-time manager the late Nick John by architecting a magnum opus that bears the influence of his eternal memory. Released in a 4-panel digisleeve with 16-page booklet. (Reprise Records/2021)

    IRON MONKEY | 9-13 | LP

    21.00 incl. tax
Cult UK doom/sludge outfit IRON MONKEY return with 9-13, their first new full-length in almost two decades. After disbanding in 1999 due to the death of their original singer J.P. Morrow, the group has reformed for phase two of their mission. Recorded in their hometown of Nottingham in Spring 2017 A.D. with producer Johnny A. Carter, 9-13 is 9 songs and 48 minutes of total nihilism. Now older, more cynical and more isolationist, IRON MONKEY are back to usurp the scene, then crush its skull. Without question, their most focused, aggressive and direct material to date, 9-13 is an all-out assault of violent hatred and nightmarish negativity. Recommended listening for fans of pain, suffering, and misanthropy. Label: Relapse Records Barcode: 0781676737918

  • Integrity's massive 4th full length album Seasons In The Size Of Days. Remixed and remastered, featuring all new artwork! In 1997, INTEGRITY released their most critically controversial record. "Seasons in the size of days" was an enormous departure from the previous rage that was "humanity is the devil". Where previous releases scorched the senses with blistering ferociousness, "seasons" was a more thoughtfully focused dense bleakness. INTEGRITY was never meant to fit into a specific category and nothing exemplified that as much as "Seasons in the size of days". Label: Relapse Records Barcode: 0781676749713

"If you’ve ever wondered what Catharsis covering The 13th Floor Elevators might sound like, wonder no longer—and that’s only the start!" - Decibel Magazine GELD make their Relapse Records debut with their third full length, Currency // Castration! The Australian band distills a despairingly hellish vision of the world into a thundering crack to the temple through an unsparing fusion of hardcore’s bleakest violence with metal’s ruthless strength-through-conviction. GELD's abrasive take on the genre is distorted through a lense of fuzzed out psych soundscapes; vocals truly sound like unhinged barks, while guitars, bass, and drums crash against one another frenetically, each track burning brighter and brighter. Every moment of Currency // Castration is urgent. Tracks such as “Chained to a Gate” edge and scratch at a relief that is ultimately denied, toying with the nightmarish promise of a breakdown that never comes. Elsewhere, "Cut You Down" pulses with frantically itching riffs that stream forth. "Fog of War" snaps and snarls; while "Secret Prison" evinces the honed physique of Japanese hardcore fed through the broken brain of someone on a years-long Rrröööaaarrr-era Voivod spin-out. Despite the band's innovative approach to the genre, GELD makes no pretensions at being “interesting” for interesting’s sake - As vocalist Al Smith puts it, “One of the most boring things people can do is try to dress up what someone else has already contributed to a genre and make it ‘clever’… We’re more interested in finding our own position” With Currency // Castration, GELD offers no promise of a higher purpose or resolve. Rather, they lean into dissociation, finding truth and meaning in the transcendental joy of simply escaping, surviving, existing. Label: Relapse Records Barcode: 0781676754113

FULL OF HELL return with their highly anticipated new album, Garden Of Burning Apparitions. The new album, a genre-bending blitzkrieg of hardcore, grind and death metal, sees the band expand upon the very elements that have propelled FULL OF HELL to the forefront of extreme music over the last decade. Produced by Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Garden of Burning Apparitions also sees FULL OF HELL adding new dimensions to their warp-speed hellscape. Guitarist Spencer Hazard and bassist Sam DiGristine's monstrous riffs now have an added noise-rock influence, while drummer Dave Bland commands the rhythm section at blazing speeds. Lyrically, Garden of Burning Apparitions sees vocalist Dylan Walker exploring (anti)religion, life's impermanence and the fear that comes with knowing death is inescapable. "Industrial Messiah Complex” grinds organized religion to a pulp in under 90 seconds, while Walker contemplates the commodification of spirituality seen in America’s vast network of garish mega-churches and how these practices are at odds with true spirituality. Meanwhile, “Reeking Tunnels” rides a strident noise rock riff down into the sewer. It’s a metaphor for the physical and mental space we become trapped in when we live in a perpetual state of fear and hate. Elsewhere, justifiable ochlophobia propels the guttural death metal blast of “Eroding Shell.” Lyrically, the song seeks to capture our fear of the violent, ignorant mob—a scene glimpsed far too often in this volatile era. In the end, FULL OF HELL’s boundary smashing has paid off again. “I think it’s good that we tried not to pigeonhole ourselves early on,” Walker reflects. “Because now, 10 years in, we have the opportunity to make whatever record we want, within reason, and people will follow along.” (Relapse Records)

Gore Metal Maniacs EXHUMED announce the 25 year anniversary deluxe reissue of their legendary debut album Gore Metal! Fully remastered audio of the original mix by Arthur Rizk (Kreator, Cavalera, Power Trip, and more,) Gore Metal now features expanded artwork, live tracks (digital only), and liner notes! The 25th anniversary edition of Gore Metal is streaming in full now! Frontman Matt Harvey comments: “Like a lingering recurrent infection, this album just keeps rearing its ugly head. Twenty-five years is a long time for a record this raw, nasty, crude and repugnant to hang around, so what better time would there be than now to reissue it on vinyl? The re-master has breathed new life into these dusty old tracks and the record has never sounded better. I hope you necromaniacs are as excited about this as we are, because we have a bunch of plans around this reissue and anniversary in the works. If you've been hoping for a chance to hear some deep cuts and (slaughter) cult classicks... your patience will soon be rewarded.” Label: Relapse Records Barcode: 0781676754816

Originally released in 1998 EXHUMED's now-classic debut full-length 'Gore Metal' was a boundary pushing album of absolutely filthy grinding death-metal. Everything about it was over the top--lightning fast speed, blazing guitars, b-movie slasher-film inspired lyrics, disgusting album artwork, etc etc. This was a record that made Carcass look PG. In otherwords, a true underground classic! Not content to let the album rot away, EXHUMED returned to the studio almost 2 decades later to re-record their landmark debut. The filthy fury of the original version is still there, only tightened up by years of touring and with a greatly improved recording. Presented with completely new art-work that is even more disgusting than the original! Deluxe 2CD set comes packaged with the original version of the album for the price of a single CD. The album marks a change in Dying Fetus's direction, with political themes becoming dominant, which has continued in all of their subsequent albums. • Those not familiar with Disfear should be ashamed of themselves - you probably have been hiding under a rock for more than 25 years. Starting out as yet another Discharge inspired Dis-band from Sweden, they released a monumental debut album back in 1992 along with producer Tomas Skogsberg. In the years, Disfear became one of the only real survivors of the Dis-scene, and even though many line-up changes plagued the band, they kept on going until they left Osmose Records in 1998 - at which point they had incorporated ex-At the Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg in the band. Instead of calling it quits, the band had five years to work on new material, and Relapse made them an offer they couldn't refuse, resulting in "Misanthropic Generation". Swedish hardcore in its purest form, "Misanthropic Generation" is a maturation, modernization and perfection of Discharge's music from back in the '80s. With a blazing pace, Entombed-ish guitar/bass riffing meeting the banshee vocalism of Tomas, supported by wickedly groovy Motorhead-style drumming - masturbation for the mind, one might call it. Well adapted to the sound of the new millennium, the twelve songs on this album (mostly clocking around three minutes) are a firm reminder of the past as well as an excellent look into the future of hardcore: "Misanthropic Generation" is a must-have for those who loved Discharge way back as well as those who claim to have an interest in the Swedish hardcore scene.
