The debut album of one of the best and most influential German punk bands is finally available again after a long time!
TOXOPLASMA from Neuwied released a demo in 1981, which also reached Karl Walterbach and his Berlin label Aggressive Rockproduktionen (AGR), after which the band contributed three songs to the legendary German-American sampler “Underground Hits” in 1982.
Encouraged by the positive response, TOXOPLASMA released their first self-titled album shortly afterwards in early 1983, also on Aggressive Rockproduktionen. And this album, which was produced under the direction of Harris Johns in the Musiclab Berlin, was to become one of the most influential and groundbreaking classics in German punk history. Songs like ‘S.O.S.’, ‘Ordinäre Liebe’, ‘1981’ and ‘Vakuum’ are lashes in the face of the hated society and are still unforgettable hits today.
