Warsaw, the second half, and especially the end of the 1980s, saw an explosion of new punk bands. Young teams appear in many housing estates. This is also the time when a series of concerts organized by the crew members in their schools begins. Virtually all bands from this wave disappeared into oblivion and did not become widely known. They no longer had goals such as performing in Jarocin, and releasing an album was beyond their plans. It was usually played locally and gained local notoriety. The only band from the second half of the 1980s that became well known is, of course, POST REGIMENT – which formed one crew together with TRAGIEDIA. Thanks to the Regiment team, Tragedy did not become dusty history – in the first half of the 1990s, Nika from Postów self-published a low-circulation cassette given to friends, which included both previously unreleased demos from 1988-1989, and in 1998 it was released excellent album “Tragiedia wg. Post Regiment” recorded by POST REGIMENT together with members of TRAGIEDIA. In the following years, recordings from the demos were released on split cassette in the Czech Republic (Malarie) and on vinyl LP in the USA (Todos Destruido).

TRAGIEDIA was definitely the sharpest local band active at the time. Their sound was heavily influenced by the raw and fast international HC bands of the 1980s, with a noticeable influence of sounds from Bristol and Stoke-On-Trent such as Disorder, Chaos UK and Discharge, but also with a lot of Polish Hardcore ’84. Fast, short and ultra-cool numbers that caused total chaos and crazy pogo during concerts. In addition, great texts that did not inspire optimism, and the level of pissiness contained in them still raises adrenaline.
