Geheimnis Music Productions continues it’s amazing streak with the release of the new Data Fragments LP called "Total Absence Of Light". Data Fragments formed in 2017 and stood out from the start with their raw Post Punk energy. Having released their first S/T album in 2019 via our label, quickly became a valuable piece of the blooming Dark Wave / Post Punk scene. After a few years of absence due to some post- apocalyptic fantasy came true, the Athenian Post Punk band arose from this darkness with its new LP and a new member. Data Fragments switched to full analogue mode with Vangelis Felonis on drums, joining Panos Dedepsidis (Guitar & Vocals), Stathis Leontiadis (Bass) and Panos Dimopoulos (Synthesizers). "Total Absence Of Light" consists of the band's deepest fears, insecurities and regrets. Inner demons that hide in their darkest feelings come in life through the reflective lyrics. Dark and noisy tunes created by guitars and synthesizers and strong rhythms by the drums and bass set the atmosphere that emphasizes the lyrical subject. The album will be released in 311 hand-numbered copies, 161 on black and 150 on transparent green vinyl. The release includes a fold-out insert with lyrics, credits, photo and a download code. Excarnated Entity was stillborn under lifeless skies in the year 2018. Originally hailing from Seattle, the quartet features current and former members of Anhedonist and Triumvir Foul. From the beginning, Excarnated Entity‘s aim has been to deliver desolate-yet-powerful DEATH METAL DOOM. They self-released their Stillborn in Ash demo in May 2019, which quickly caught the attention of various labels. It immediately got reissued on tape by Extremely Rotten Productions, followed by vinyl and CD reissues on Nuclear Winter with new artwork/design and remixed audio. In mid-2020, Excarnated Entity relocated to Portland, Oregon and underwent a handful of lineup changes before reaching their current formation. With the new lineup in place, work on their debut album was finally completed. Mass Grave Horizon paints a hopeless vision of the future, drearily dredging death metal’s darkest depths and locating majestically miserable doom among those ominously bubbling landscapes. Following a two-minute instrumental introduction, Excarnated Entity kick in with a classic downtuned death metal surge before gutting its underbelly, revealing the morose melodicism of earliest My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost. As the eight-song/44-minute album plays on, its attendant song titles vividly illustrate said vision – “Carcinogen Shroud,” “Corridor of Flame,” and “The Butcher’s Pulpit” among them – and one can further detect shades of Trouble, Cathedral, Solitude Aeturnus lurking within those ruins. It’s a massively dense-yet-spacious sound, and the quartet’s songwriting suitably incorporates slow twists of the knife, but always in a deliberate and linear fashion. And, come climactic closer “Gallery of Defeat,” your fate is sealed and your soul spent…and Excarnated Entity stand stoic, unmoved and unmovable. Label: Nuclear Winter Records

This new 7" by Paris Dark punkers BLEAKNESS features two unreleased songs from the last album studio session, they were put on hold to get the spotlight they deserve, as the band is already working on new material it was time to release them. A side song "Words" is the last song the band wrote before entering the studio, it is another death-rock anthem while B side "Greed" is based on riffs written during the bands' first ever European tour years ago, it is reminiscent of the early 80's melancholic SoCal California hardcore punk scene. "Οι Kemerov είναι μια 4μελής μπάντα από τις Σέρρες. Αρέσκονται στο να παίζουν death ‘n’ roll, ενώ υπάρχουν σαν σχήμα από το 2013. Ο τελευταίος τους δίσκος Anti-Hero που κυκλοφόρησαν πρόσφατα μου άφησε πολύ καλές εντυπώσεις. Αρκετά metal αλλά και hardcore punk, το άλμπουμ έχει μια rock ‘n’ roll προσέγγιση με death metal ριφάκια ως βασικά εργαλεία. Τα φωνητικά φέρνουν αρκετά σε LG Petrov (μεγάλη η χάρη του…) και μαζί με τις σουηδικού ηχοχρώματος κιθάρες είναι αυτά οπού επάξια προσδίδουν στους Kemerov τον death ‘n’ roll χαρακτηρισμό. Τα κομμάτια που ξεχώρισα είναι τα «Fabricated Gods» (άψογο εναρκτήριο track), «Channeling Hatred», «Hate Speech» και «Black Right Hands» με έντονες επιρροές Entombed εποχής Uprising, αλλά και Left Hand Path (κάτι που δεν κρύβουν τα παιδιά εφόσον έχουν διασκευάσει στο παρελθόν το «Say It in Slugs» με επιτυχία)· ενώ στα «Nail» και «Count Me Out» ξεχωρίζουν οι punk πτυχές του δίσκου. Το death ‘n’ roll έχει να δώσει ως είδος, και είναι κάτι που λείπει από την εγχώρια σκηνή. 25 year anniversary edition! Originally released in 1995 via Distortion Records, now re-released via La Familia Releases! Forming around 1989, Disfear took elements from both crust and death metal scenes to effectively reinvent the Swedish sound. It is from Disfear's influence that we have seen the likes of Martyrdod, Warcollapse, Wolfpack (now Wolfbrigade), and countless others. Disfear simply took the things that made the Swedish death metal scene so effective such as ferocious/anxious vocals and pummeling drums and put them into the arena of d-beat punk. The result added new dimensions to the genre's sound. Arriving on the scene in Sweden, the band would tour with much of Sweden's metal royalty such as Entombed and Dismember. This happened in part because the band did not have many sonic contemporaries in Sweden at the time. Another innovation made by Disfear was the shift from political commentary on war to the fatalistic and psychological impacts war makes. Again, the band's lyrics also showed influence from the realm of death metal. Gone were the cries for peace and protest against government warmongers and replaced by the resignation that the war was lost. The band's debut LP "Soul Scars" spells this out perfectly. Themes of psychological trauma and irrevocably broken lives from war replaced the politically charged battle cries that Discharge once made. Label: La Familia Releases
