• " Polish death 'n' rollers Daymares put together a decent debut in their 2007 release, Can't Get Us All. They fused crusty punk, metal and death 'n' roll (a-la Entombed) to craft eleven rockin' tracks for SelfMadeGod Records that certainly were chock full of attitude and their latest EP, the six track Toothless & Fanged continues on from where the band left us last time, and even includes a Neurosis cover as well. It's a punked fuelled fiery opener in Annuit Coeptis that sets the scene and reminds me just why I dug their debut. The slower parts only add to the tracks intensity when it kicks up a few gears, and is just the right length to make a solid impact. Fury levels increase on the gang vocal heavy Never Relent which is more punk than anything else and that attitude carries over seamlessly to the fun as hell Who Laughs Last. The longest track, the epic four plus minute Words One Loves To Hate swaps pace for groove and it works a treat and certainly injects something new into the EP before the short, sharp title track, Toothless & Fanged, rolls up a healthy balance of the group's main influences - punk and death 'n' roll. The EP is rounded out with the group's cover of the Neurosis track Life On Your Knees (which originally appeared the group's first album, Pain Of Mind) which fits the band's mantra like a glove. Toothless & Fanged is another fine effort from this Polish group. If their debut floated your boat, then this EP will as well. It's that simple." (Get By Records)

Original price was: €8.00.Current price is: €6.00. incl. tax
"My Broken World"; a culmination of furious anger and frustration, transformed into the best, hardest and darkest Backfire! album ever. Backfire!'s "My Broken World" features 15 songs. Check these songs and you'll understand right away why their 2009 break up was too early. Backfire! had more to offer to the universe, and music and lyric wise "My Broken World" proves it. Forget the melancholic memories from their 1995 classic "Rebel 4 Life", and "My Broken World" is the best Backfire! effort so far. Backfire! 2012 is harder and darker than ever before. The lyrics from "My Broken World" are based on the deepest frustrations of disappointments and loss. Just like "In Harm's Way", the brand new "My Broken World" album is recorded and produced by Igor Wouters and mastered by Alan Douches. HONDARTZAKO HONDAKINAK | bruiarta | LP

Original price was: €10.00.Current price is: €6.00. incl. tax
Euskal rage! HONDARTZAKO HONDAKINAK came to life in 2011 in the northern part of Basque Country. Straight from their demo they caught the attention of many of us, delivering an impressive amount of noise and distortion. "Bruiarta" is their first full length and the trio made the most of it bringing new influences and more diversity to their sound. 80's UK punk will come to mind listening to the catchy and powerfull intro of this record but it's only one of the numerous and inspired aspects this piece of vinyl has to offer. The record comes with a nice bookled in which the shouted basque lyrics are translated in various languages. The artwork is a nod to their country of origin with the desire to be far from any punk cliché or pose. It's a corelease with Solar Funeral from the US. Label: Destructure Records
  • Taking influence from Black Flag, Dead Boys, Bad Brains, and Thrasher magazine -- as well as pizza and beer -- Cerebral Ballzy were formed by five Brooklyn skaters who were nostalgic for early-‘80s speed metal and hardcore punk. In 2010, Mel, Honor, Mason, Jason, and Abe started getting together to play music as fast as humanly possible, and while doing so in their practice space, they came up with songs like "Underage Drink Forever," "Puke Song," and "Skate All Day." Cerebral Ballzy's debut 7", You’re Idle, was released on Article Records and came packaged in a sandpapery sleeve (à la The Return of the Durutti Column) made of hand-stenciled skateboard grip-tape. After playing for only six months together, the band inked a deal with Vice Records, who released their self-titled full-length debut in 2011. Receiving positive reviews for their brattish take on classic '80s hardcore, the group headed out in support of the record, taking on a full tour of the U.S. as well as dates at key European festivals such as Pukklepop, Roskilde, Reading, and Leeds. Returning to the studio in 2013 with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, the band set about recording their sophomore release, Jaded & Faded. Preceded by the 2013 singles "Another Day" and "City's Girl," the album itself was released in June of 2014. Label: Cult Records Barcode: 616892201946
  • Two-song flexi from this much-hyped New York band which preserves the two tracks from their recent promo cassette on a slightly more permanent format. It’s easy to see why people respond so strongly to Krimewatch, because they take a tried and true sound—their music has a very similar combination of primitiveness and power as early Agnostic Front—and update it with lyrical content and a visual aesthetic that reflects the political and social priorities of the (lowercase) youth of today. I know there are a lot of haters out there who don’t think this band “deserves” the attention they’ve gotten based on their limited output (I think these two songs bring their full discography up to about 7 minutes in length), but I really couldn’t care less about that debate. There’s an undeniable spark here, and while it’s hard for me to point out what, precisely, elevates this band above the legions with a similar approach, it’s obvious that a lot of other people hear it too. • Following the signing of North American hardcore group SECT to Southern Lord earlier this year, the band has since completed recording their second full-length, and label debut, No Cure For Death, and with plans to release the album on November 24th. No Cure For Death was recorded with Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. Comprised of an international cast of scene veterans, who cut their teeth in that formative moment of political, cynical, antagonistic extremes, SECT unites vocalist Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things). The result of these musicians’ alignment is a caustic, riotous, belligerent style of vile hardcore fed by a boundless well of socio-political vitriol. SECT gets right down to the blast beats and breakdowns that fight it out in their chaotic jams. They cut the shit and go for the throat with no time to waste, “because the Orwellian police states and irreparable social and ecological disasters we once saw off on the horizon are now on our front doorsteps, in full swing. And in just such a volatile, precarious moment as this for civilization, there is more reason than ever to keep lashing out at a world more suicidally-bent on its own destruction and the exploitation of people, species and the ecosystem itself, than perhaps ever before in history.” For SECT, this is the purpose of hardcore as they know it, conveying an urgency that transcends age, credentials or scene politics, to convert desperation into real talk and action. On NIGHT SHIFT, Neighborhood Brats’ first release since 2014 is a return to original form without repeating or compromising the past. The A side title track is a first-rate NB classic, paying homage to the RUNAWAYS, STOOGES and the SAINTS. Side B features a collaborative writing effort by vocalist JENNY ANGELILLO and guitarist GEORGE RAGER, in an AVENGERS meets RADIO BIRDMAN slammer. Captivated by an NPR story of WWII-era COMFORT WOMEN and echoing the current #MeToo movement, Angelillo shouts “I’m not the one,” implicitly stating FUCK THAT SHIT TO SEXISM AND THE PATRIARCHY. The wolves are back in town -- yeah! This is their best release to date. Better vocals, better songs, better sound than before. This record is a step up from their already amazing LP of last year. This ep brings four new songs that are somewhat influenced by japanese hardcore but BURIAL have found a style of their own that is just totally driving, extremely powerful hardcore punk. Simple as that. It would be great if japan these days had more bands as good as BURIAL. To top it off, japanese punk artist sugi did the front cover artwork. After their successful European tour in November 2014 HeartFirst Records is proud to release the new 7 EP by LIFE from Japan entitled “Proof of Survival”. LIFE hail from Tokyo and their name stands for “Liberty Independence Freedom Equality”. The band has been around since the early 90s and released their first demo in 1993. Their releases have been hard to find in Europe, but this changes now since at the same time as the new EP on HeartFirst, LA VIDA ES UN MUS from England is rereleasing their debut LP entitled “The World Lies Across Them“. LIFE’s “Proof of Survival” EP offers four songs of blown out yet rocking hardcore punk — three fast smashers on one side and and a long track on the flipside. After KRIEGSHÖG in 2008 this is finally a new release by a Japanese band on HeartFirst. Also Nori, who currently plays bass in LIFE, has been playing on the first release ever on HeartFirst, the debut EP by NUKEY PIKES. So he is one of the oldest members of the HeartFirst family. Kriegshög is a raw hardcore/d-beat punk band from Tokyo, Japan. This 7" EP was released in 2008 by Hardcore Survives. "Re-release of their debut EP with new artwork and one extra song. One of the most amazing bands in recent times and one of the hottest new bands from Japan at the moment. The original sold out instantly in February 2008. Here is what MRR hat to say about the original version: I am almost left speechless on how fucking good this record is. the ultra-hardcore brutal legion needs to maim and murder to get this record ‘cuz it fucking kills an I heard it is already long gone. ok, what does it sound like, you may ask? driving, fist-pumping hardcore with loads of distortion, ferocious drumming, and vocals that drive right through my skull. side one paints a picture for you by having some war-time sample – ya know, gunfire and commotion followed by a sic-year-old girl’s blood-curdling scream – then in comes the audio assault. killer!” – (Martin Sorrondeguy, Maximum Rocknroll No. 300). A lot has happened in the 3 years since the "futuro primitivo" 7" dropped in correlation with the band's 2016 Japanese tour, and now VAASKA returns to a world that's worse off with what could possibly be their final statement in the form of the "inocentes condenados" 7".
