Wire’s first three albums need no introduction. They are the three classic albums on which Wire’s reputation is based. Moreover, they are the recordings that minted the post-punk form. This was adopted by other bands, but Wire were there first. It has been a number of years since these albums were readily available. The aim with these new vinyl releases is to approximate the original statements as closely as possible, but with remastered audio. The vinyl releases have the same covers and inners as the originals (minus the Harvest logo). These versions should be considered Wire’s classic 1970s albums, pure and undiluted. 1978’s Chairs Missing represented perhaps the biggest conceptual leap made during this period of Wire and was widely misunderstood at the time yet it remains, to the band and production crew Wire’s favorite ’70s album. If Pink Flag proposed an almost cut and paste approach to deconstructing rock history, Chairs Missing proposed something more radical, a definite futurism with much less influence from it’s antecedents. Chairs Missing was at once more stark and more lush than it’s predecessor and has exerted it’s own influence on the course of cultural history, having laid down one of the earliest (if not the earliest) blueprints for the genuinely post-punk aesthetic. The original Not About To Die was an illegal /bootleg, released at some point in the early 80s, by the dubiously named Amnesia Records. The album was made up of selections from demos recorded by the group for their second and third albums: Chairs Missing and 154. These demos had been recorded for EMI, with cassette copies circulated amongst record company employees. However, they were never intended for release. A typically shoddy cash-in, the songs on Not About To Die were taken from a second or possibly third generation cassette, with the album housed in a grainy green and red photo-copied sleeve. Compared with the high standards of production and design Wire have always been known for, it was something of an insult to band and fans alike. Now, in a classic act of Wire perversity, the group have decided to redress the balance and reclaim one of the shadier moments of its history, by giving Not About To Die its first official release. All the tracks have been properly remastered, with the relevant recording details in place. As for the sleeve artwork, whilst it strongly references the original, it is decidedly more artful in its execution. Not About To Die emerges as a fascinating snapshot of Wire in transition with embryonic versions of classic songs such as ‘French Film (Blurred)’, ‘Used To’ and ‘Being Sucked In Again’, that the group would develop considerably for their epochal 1978 album Chairs Missing. Later demos such as ‘Once Is Enough’, ‘On Returning’ and ‘Two People In A Room’ would surface in radically altered form on 1979’s 154. Some songs, such as ‘The Other Window’, are virtually unrecognisable from their later iterations but the biggest prizes here may well be the tracks that were omitted from Wire's later studio albums... Highlights include ‘Motive’, which has an undeniable power. Robert Grey’s drumming is crisp and minimal, and Graham Lewis’s bass runs are particularly ear-catching. Despite its distinctly un-Wire title, ‘Love Ain't Polite’ is also something of a gem. Meanwhile, the track which gives the album its title Not About To Die (officially known as ‘Stepping Off Too Quick’) possesses what Newman half jokingly calls “The best intro to any song ever”. The intro is so good in fact, that it takes up a third of the song’s entire time frame. These properly mastered tracks have never been available on vinyl before, and they provide an opportunity to hear Wire at a point in their development when they were bursting with fresh ideas and a will to communicate them. This is post-punk at its very finest. Label: Pinkflag Records Barcode: 5056321653932

Condition: Media: Near Mint (NM or M-) Sleeve: Very Good Plus (VG+) "So I did buy this before the band came through on tour. Heard from people I respect that this was going to be a good release, and, of course, the fact that there was a sort of special pressing, I had to jump. It was not what I was expecting. For some reason, I thought this band was going to be more in the metal/crust vein. In turn, this band plays more of an anarcho punk breed of music. But not to pigeonhole the band, the music is more adventurous and intricate. Without resorting to just playing fast to produce energy, they weave in more sonic energy with the layers of sound they produce. The songs are mid tempo but are atmospheric with the interweaving of guitars. With the addition of having two female vocalists and a male vocalist, the singers add another level to the mix. Kind of makes me think of what the next Harum Scarum record might sound like, or if Detestation kept going. I have heard Tragedy references elsewhere and I would also add to that. The power of the music is in the song writing. After listening to this LP, I was really excited to see them live. Me and a couple of hundred can attest to have enjoyed their set." Formed in 2012 and hailing from Portland Oregon USA, Witch Vomit quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the underground Death Metal scene. With two full length albums and two EPs on 20buckspin it’s now undeniable that the band is not merely another “OSDM” (stale terminology) band since they have evolved a maximal and rarely achieved synthesis of European and American Death Metal styles into a flawless melange of horrific gore soaked splendor. ‘The Webs of Horror’ is their debut EP, clocking at almost 18 minutes of Barbaric Death Metal mastery. It's finally happening ! In a couple of weeks, the long awaited reissue of In Darkness You Feel No Regrets by Wolfbrigade will be finally available. The second album from the fiercest swedish hardcore punk band has been unavailable for more than a decade and we're very happy to bring it back in 2023, 20 years after its inception. « In Darkness » was one of the most influential records in the very prolific crust / hardcore scene of the early 2000s, ten songs of a perfect mix of brutality and melody and a cover of Poison Idea's Say Goodbye. We were very honored to be able to release the European version of this record in 2003 and the enthusiasm is still real to be able to offer you this reissue 20 years later. The disillusioned rage and urgency of this album remain intact after two decades. This reissue has been carefully prepared coincidentally with the band and packed in a gatefold cover with an impressive artwork by Wolfbrigade's very own bass player Johan Erkenvåg. It comes in a gatefold sleeve and there are clear & black marble and purple & black marble colored vinyl versions available for mailorder. Label: Destructure

People will only be pushed so far before they snap. And then violence ensues. Followed by an immediate need for solitude. ‘Human Outline’ is what that feeling sounds like. Fists packed, boots laced, ready to destroy everything in sight. Wound Man has always been a band heavily influenced by the likes of Crossed Out and Infest, that’s obvious, but what really makes them stand out is a heavy doom undercurrent that doesn’t necessarily come out in the riffs but the darkness of it is there. No rip-off shit, just tangible depression given to angry action via alternating/direct current. And that is some magnificent ugliness. 750 on black, 150 on white and 100 copies on translucent green 150gr vinyl housed in a reverse board 24pt jacket with insert and download card included. The debut 12” from London, UK based crust/hardcore band WREATHE. Featuring members of FALL OF EFRAFA, MORROW, and ARBORICIDIO, Wreathe plays dark, brooding and at times, melodic crust with lyrics that act as a call to arms for the defense of nature. Recommended for fans of early Tragedy, Ekkaia, and From Ashes Rise. Much like the Watership Down inspiration for their previous band Fall of Efrafa, the concept, lyrics and artwork for WREATHE are based on 'The Book Of Venym; An Egalitarian Demonology'. Created by vocalist Alex CF (Chronic Fatigue Art), ‘The Book of Venym’ is a call to arms in the defense of nature and against humanities proclivities for violence, told through striking illustrations of benevolent demons and deities. • WRETCHED were an Italian hardcore punk band born in Milan in 1981. They were inspired by the English anarcho-punk bands of the time, as Discharge and Crass, but they immediately developed an original and radical sound ("chaos not music" they said) which at the time made Italian HC punk unique. Their work is distinguished by the strong anarcho-pacifist, libertarian, anti-militarist message: their was counterculture action, not just simple musical activity. The band's activity was inextricably linked to that of the squat called VIRUS, one of the first self-managed punk realities in Milan (it existed from 1981 to 1989). WRETCHED were among the first bands in Italy to print self-produced records, and to claim this choice as a declaration for independence from the music business. The definitive Wretched collection on a double CD. This PNV archival release is a real treat for Pinoy Punk fans. Why do you ask? Because the Wuds are one of the earliest Filipino punk bands and their rare as all hell debut demo tape has been unavailable in any format since its initial 1985 cassette only release. Making it one of the rarest Pinoy Punk releases. The Wuds were among the earliest – and most influential – punk rock bands in the Philippines. In the early '80s, punk bands began to form in the Philippines as economic woes and political unrest started to fuel a burgeoning underground scene. The Wuds roared their amps in a country once dominated by easy listening artists. Not surprisingly, there was little mainstream acceptance. Given that rock audiences in the Philippines were divided between hippies and punks, violence was not uncommon; nevertheless, the Wuds were devout Krishna's, quite different from the public stereotyping of punk rockers as immoral troublemakers. Throughout the '80s, the Wuds remained outside of mass acceptance. In the early '90s, though, Manila underwent an alternative rock revolution and the Wuds were lauded as pioneers, especially by the popular punk group the Youth. Fast forward …after 38 years from its release ArmsTalk is now finally available on vinyl! For such a legendary band that still commands high respect in the Philippine and worldwide underground music scenes, having this music on 12” vinyl is a must for any serious collector or fan Label: Puke N Vomit

X-Ray Spex are an usual entry in the British punk pantheon. With a Samali/British born front woman Poly Styrene, formally involved with the hippie culture she witnessed a Sex Pistols show in 77 and went on to form a punk band of her own. Unique in image and blistering in their sound, they released 5 singles and an album between 77-80. Constant touring caused Poly to become very disenchanted with the whole 'pop star' experience and she left the group at that point but the sole album they recorded as gone on to become a classic of a punk record. Germ Free Adolescents ' most recognizable trait is its songs that deal with consumerism, commercialism, and personal indendity in genreal. Tracks like Art-I-Ficial, I Am A Posuer, Genetic Engineering, The Day The World Turned Dayglo and singles like I Am Cliche are perfect examples of the lyrical standpoint in which the band took. Poly's high pitched edgy singing style is forefront, catching your attention right off the bat and the music behind her, a Sex Pistols style guitar driven blast of pure punk rock n roll madness albeit with a Saxophone! Original member Lora Logic played the Saxophone which certainly is another trademark element of X-Ray Spex that wasnt exactly a common thing found in punk until at least the mid 80's when ska and reggae became a heavy part of the genre (Madness) and of course in the 90's when it really exploded with Save Ferris, Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger. The lone "ballad" style song on the album, the title track is great and it gives way to the fast/slow blast of Plastic Bag which might be the most bombastic song it bursts with a kenetic guitar riff-sax/guitar blast pattern. It shares honors with Oh! Bondage Up Yours! as the bands true anthems. Bondage you might recognize from somewhere or another if you're into punk or indie rock in general. It's a certified punk classic. - Germfree Adolescents, the Only Album Release from X Ray Spex, Is One of the Most Influential Punk Rock Albums Ever Made - Ranked as One of the Greatest Punk Rock Records by Everybody from Greil Marcus to Robert Christgau toMojo to Spin - Features Penetrating Lyrics and Passionate Vocals from Frontwoman Poly Styrene - Also Features Lora Logic on Saxophone - Key Tracks Include “The Day the World Turned Dayglo” and “Germ Free Adolescents” - Includes Faithful Reproduction of Original Inner Lyric Sleeve - “X-Ray Clear” Vinyl Pressing Offering Superior Fidelity Real Gone Music is proud to present Germfree Adolescents, one of the signature albums of the early (1978) British punk movement, in an “x-ray clear” vinyl edition that serves as an ideal prism through which to see the hypocrisy of consumerist culture. The one and only LP release from X Ray Spex and its irrepressible frontwoman Poly Styrene has been deemed by everybody from Greil Marcus to Robert Christgau to Spin to Mojo as one of the greatest punk albums ever made, and for this reissue, we’ve done it right; besides the clear vinyl (offering excellent sound), we’ve reproduced the inner lyric sheet, where you can read Poly’s brilliant observations about the plastic, corporate nature of modern society. All of which she sings in a passionate yowl all her own (with Lora Logic among others backing on saxophone); this is not only one of the most penetratingly observant punk records, it’s also one of the most passionate, and, surprisingly enough, catchy. Sure one unusual young woman screaming, "Some people think that little girls should be seen and not heard but I think - OH BONDAGE UP YOURS! 1-2-3-4!" didn't end ageism, racism, sexism or blind consumerism but her defiance inspired millions to fight those same things. Años En Infierno takes these conventions and finds a new way of expression that the band defines as, "more harsh, brutal, and creative in a metaphorical sense." Some aspects of this album remain consistent, such as the album?s cover artwork once again being handled by longtime collaborator Dan Seagrave (DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION). However, the production of this album was handled by Arthur Rizk (CRO-MAGS POWER TRIP, INQUISITION) whose handiwork pushes XIBALBA's sound to epic proportions. Label: Southern Lord Records

  • Madre mía gracias por los días is the debut album by the hardcore band Xibalba, originally released in 2010 by the band itself and Beatdown Hardware Records. Xibalba from Southern California effectively fuse death metal influences like Sepultura and Obituary with more modern and 90's hardcore as well a healthy dose of Crowbar! Xibalba's downtuned, heavy as fuck music is a SEVERE force to reckoned with. The old world influence is only evident to the trained eye, but Xibalba gives nods not only to the hardcore bands they were raised on, but to the culture which spawned them. Xibalba not only know their roots, but make sure you won't forget them either. The Madre Mia Por Los Dias cd contains not only the s/t debut album from Xibalba but also the material from the Earthquake comp cd. The vinyl version of this album was released by A389 records (Ringworm, Integrity, Pulling Teeth). Label: Southern Lord Records
  • “Gothics” - a time before the word goth had even taken shape - believed in the do-it-yourself punk ethos that anyone could pick up an instrument. Gray clouds were starting to form and in the unlikely city of Hamburg, a brazen and haunting gang of five women formed Xmal Deutschland. As any true punk would, Xmal Deutschland’s members Caro May, Rita Simon, Manuela Rickers, Fiona Sangster and Anja Huwe, started the band despite any previous musical experience. The “Schwarze Welt” seven-inch was released on the local punk label, ZickZack, in 1981 and introduced the band as an unsettling swarm of intensity. There’s an urgency in its repetitive dirge, a swirling mania that persists on the b-side with “Die Wolken” and “Großstadtindianer” whose crude synthesizer noises escalate in tension. Most of all, Huwe’s uniquely venomous German vocals quickly became embedded in the unbridled and burgeoning scene of glamorous gloom. Punk’s independence from the stiff grip of tradition allowed the band to find solace in anti-establishment art and music, far from the conventions of the past. With their peacocked hair and thick kohl-lined eyes, Xmal Deutschland’s music retained both a restlessness and delicacy, transcending any confines of the “Neue Deutsche Welle” movement (much like their colleagues and friends DAF and Einstürzende Neubauten) with the release of the “Incubus Succubus” single in 1982. It instantly became a post-punk classic. The guitar’s buzz ransacks through the melody as the ghoulish primitiveness of Huwe’s voice teases that maybe, just maybe, she is the nightmarish creature of which to be aware. The b-sides, “Zu Jung Zu Alt” and “Blut Ist Liebe,” keep strict militaristic dance beats as they teem in agitation. That same year, the band performed in London as support for the Cocteau Twins; it was the platform they needed to ricochet into the arms of the ripped fishnet masses. Early Singles (1981-1982), is a map of the foundational movements of Xmal Deutschland, just seconds before takeoff. Bonus tracks on the compilation, “Kaellbermarsch” and a gritty live version of “Allein,” further accentuate their fusion of toughness with the quixotic decadence of atmospheric synthesizers. The band’s pursuit of something greater is palpable with this release, a reflection of a time that introduced accessibility to new means of making music following the onset of punk. • xXx Fanzine (1983-1988) Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties isn’t a mere collection of articles, reviews and photographs from one of Hardcore America’s best-known fanzines - it’s a chronicle of punk’s evolution in the 80’s; a story of music and ideologies in motion. xXx’s story picks up while the first wave of hardcore was in full swing. Major players including Minor Threat had already released landmark records and bands were loading up station wagons to play now infamous venues like The Channel, A7 or D.C. Space. While based in Boston, xXx’s main writer and editor, Mike Gitter, not only concentrated on his own city’s burgeoning scene, spear-headed by bands like SS Decontrol and D.Y.S., but looked to other states and countries for xXx’s reportage. This hardcover, 11"x11", 288-page book documents a time when hardcore and punk were not mutually exclusive and bands and cities had a chance to develop their own diverse and strident sounds. This creative ethos and aural zeitgeist is literally spelt out on the 19-song compilation that’s included with xXx Fanzine, with either download card or limited edition 12inch; a wide variety of current hardcore, punk and hard music luminaries including Strife, letlive., Fu Manchu and The Riverboat Gamblers contributed their interpretations to some of the most influential songs to come from xXx’s original era. Now, in addition to reproducing (and restoring) countless interviews and pages from the ‘zine itself, xXx Fanzine re-interviews countless bands and musical prime-movers including Ian MacKaye, Keith Morris and members of Agnostic Front, Bad Brains and Cro-Mags to give the book a rare ‘then and now’ perspective. xXx Fanzine (1983-1988), Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties isn’t merely a look back at hardcore’s salad days, but a unique look at how punk’s music and message shook the mainstream itself. xXx Fanzine (1983-1988) Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties features: Minor Threat, Misfits, Necros, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Husker Du, Jerry’s Kids, Black Flag, D.O.A., G.B.H, Void, Negative Approach, 7 Seconds, D.Y.S., Scream, Metallica, Corrosion of Conformity, Minutemen, The Exploited, Anthrax, Subhumans, Dead Kennedys, SSD, Henry Rollins, Descendents, Bad Brains, Youth of Today, Motorhead, Dag Nasty, Snapshot, Samhain, Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Bad Religion, Fugazi, and more… (Bridge 9 Press)

    YACøPSæ | demo 1 | LP

    21.00 incl. tax
The first Yacöpsae demo on vinyl. 21 songs from the very early phase of the Hamburg "Punk/ Powerviolence" institution recorded someone in `91. So duo is still active here. At that time probably the most brutal answer to the "Abstürzenden Brieftauben". This historical document contains a thick full color booklet with unpublished pictures, liner notes and other anecdotes. (Power It Up Records)

Official re-press of probably the best Yacöpase LP. Nothing can be faster than Hamburg's top turboboner speed herb violence master. They've been delivering stop-and-go hyperblasts of fast-paced hardcore rage for more than 25 years. The real key of how the formula short + fast + loud should be handled is all here. Remastered and the artwork has been reworked. (Power It Up Records)
  • YACØPSÆ's "Vorläufige Vernichtung" is the original version planned by the band at the time. Unfortunately, the label at the time used some other song versions or arranged them in a different order. Also, the original front cover that the band preferred was not used. Here is the official re-release exactly as the band wanted it. Nothing has changed purely musically, a 39-song ultra-condensed album recorded in 2001. Musically this is one of the fastest records in HC history, YACØPSÆ's turbocharged Power Violence/Thrash is a paragon of precision and accuracy. While most Fastcores have a cluster bomb effect, YACØPSÆ are more like a laser-guided weapon used for surgical strikes. Each of the 39 song bursts on this album is like a kick in the groin - short and fierce, but crafted to leave a lasting impression. If you thought developing Power Violence would inevitably lead to Mathcore or Screamo, then think again, bastard, because YACØPSÆ is the pinnacle of that species. It smacks you right in the face from start to finish, with restless speed, hyperblastic, manic, fast blastbeats and impossible stop-and-gos. FAST FAST FAST! The LP then comes in the inside/out cover design with an insert with original pictures and liner notes. Label: Power It Up Records

Heavily influenced by The Ramones and The Damned, Los Yaps had been shredding around Mexico since the early 80s. At that time punk began to penetrate the marginalized areas of Mexico City and the band started to practice even though they did not know how to play an instrument. Over the years YAPS changed several line ups but still they crated this unique sound leading them to tour with Total Chaos and open up for main acts such as Ramones, GBH, Exploited, Eskorbuto and many more. This LP includes the “s/t” 7” from 1988 and the “Tu Sentencia” LP from 1990. Mexican Punk at its best! Released in cooperation with the original members and the sole rights’ holders (BAM BAM DISCOS) (Radiation Records)   ‎

  • Yellow Eyes copped a raw deal from the start. Their DIY debut from 2012, Silence Threads The Evening's Cloth, was (not unfairly) compared to Krallice, who (somewhat unfairly) are often accused of "scene tourism" because of its members' involvement in other kinds of music. That's black metal for you. Yellow Eyes' stomping ground of not-very-kvlt New York also didn't help, inspiring from-thin-air allegations of vegan hipsterdom. Undeterred, the band has plowed ahead over the past decade with a couple of EPs and four albums–the latter two, wonderfully titled Immersion Trench Reverie and Rare Field Ceiling, cementing Yellow Eyes' reputation for extreme eccentricity well within the bounds of black metal's foundations. Throughout this time, the main draw has always been the hypnotic dual guitar work between the Brothers Skarstad (Will and Sam). The band's wider pedigree must also not be underestimated. Will has links to the sorely missed House of First Light, as well as a solo project, Ustalost, and drummer Mike Rekevics boasts an extensive portfolio ranging from Vanum, to Vilkacis, Vorde, and way back to Fell Voices. But for all this eclecticism, nothing could have prepared us for Yellow Eyes' latest album, Master's Murmur, which was released without warning at the end of October through the band's own imprint, Sibir Records, with an LP to follow on Gilead Media. So what's the big deal? Well, Master's Murmur isn't strictly a black metal record. Note that this is not an improbable event–just look at how Laster or Furia continually reinvent themselves. But that isn't to say that Yellow Eyes is shunning the style, which makes Master's Murmur all the more exciting. Sure, the first blast beat might not turn up until a good 13 minutes of the album has elapsed, but it drops in such an organic way that fans and newcomers alike should feel in safe hands as the band takes you on a tour of what we'll call "adjacent" music. Take "Anywhere Out Of The World" from Dead Can Dance's 1987 album Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun. No rock instrumentation to be heard, clean singing, and yet we have an atmosphere remarkably close to what would become familiar sonics for black metal over the next decade. As such, you can find a lot of extreme metal fans also moving in post-industrial, neoclassical, and darkwave circles. We could take Master's Murmur as a love letter to these equally leftfield genres that often tread similar ground despite disparate motivations and methods. Opener "Old Acclivity Dream" couldn't be a better mission statement. An air raid siren of woodwinds blaring out of harmony, thrumming bass, then guitar noise verging on power electronics, before a haunting melodic theme surfaces out of the cacophony. The transition into the self-titled track could go entirely unnoticed, and here we begin to see Yellow Eyes employing textures from dungeon synth, neofolk, and even Tolkien-esque landscapes. Yet Yellow Eyes' identity remains. Will hasn't suddenly turned into Dead Can Dance mastermind Brendan Perry, keeping hold of his venomous bark in spite of the music's less obvious aggression. Nor has the band shirked what makes it distinct–the Skarstads' guitars still writhe and intertwine into the uncanny, only this time round much of it is drenched in reverb and delay instead of distortion. Underneath, the murky power chords and bass move much slower, evoking the spirit of drone and doom. Meanwhile, percussion is purposefully sparse, first reminding us of its presence on "Winter is Looking" with a thumping bass drum punctuating the track's dirge-like qualities. Then, as the synth line reaches a climax, Rekevics' telltale fills smash the relative tranquility and dive into a blast beat for the first "black metal" moment of Master's Murmur, while a strummed acoustic guitar and piano guide the piece to its conclusion. "Irrlicht" is borderline ritual music where the realms of dungeon synth and drone collide effortlessly, and a disembodied voice casts spells through the smoke of a sorcerer's cauldron. "When Jackie's Lamps Have Showed" snaps from dark ambient into a swirling madness of acoustic guitars and bells. Bells are a recurring theme in Yellow Eyes' work, whether they come from field recordings or it's the sound of the guitars themselves as on "Old Alpine Pang" from Immersion Trench Reverie. Old habits die hard, and "The Ritual is Gone" sees Rekevics' savage blasts return for an ecstatic melding of ambient, noise, black metal, and, yes, more bells, underpinned by church organ-like synth. The whole album oozes a sense of the occult and folk horror, whether it's the incantations of the lyrics, the bleating of sheep (or goats) in the next field over on "Gold Door to Blindness," or the cover art of a faceless hooded figure among crops. All this could hint at what's to come from Yellow Eyes next because, as you may or may not be pleased to know, Master's Murmur is one in a pair of companion albums. Per the band, it is "the first of two complementary releases conjoined in spirit, a surreal, sinister industrial folk prelude to an upcoming full-band LP" in 2024. With Master's Murmur already displaying Yellow Eyes at their most confident, experimental, and discerning, we cannot wait to hear what follows. Richard Currie Label: Sibir Records
