Sex Pistols the first punk rockas? Feggedaboudit! Punk is as American as the Ramones, formed in Forest Hills, New York, in 1974. They were on their third LP when the Pistols debuted. Keying off their '60s U.S. pop and garage-band influences while sneering at the bloated state of '70s rock, Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, and Tommy virtually invented the loud 'n' snotty punk style and 'tude, playing in Bowery dives like CBGB. The band scored a deal with Sire Records and soon conquered the world, but on their own terms. By their 2,263rd, and final, concert in August 1996, the Ramones had outsmarted and outlasted most of their critics-and inspired countless followers. Now the godfathers of punk take a rocket to Rhino on this two-CD career-spanning collection. Produced with the band's cooperation, Hey! Ho! Let's Go! contains nearly 60 hard 'n' fast tracks from 14 albums, from 1976's Ramones to 1995's Adios Amigos-that's more than two-and-a-half hours of peak-volume punk. Also includes a hardback book gathering rare photos and memorabilia, along with extensive liner notes. The astounding debut album that established the SUBHUMANS as a genuine force to be reckoned with, The Day The Country Died, captured both the band’s serious anarcho-punk ideology and their irreverent sense of humour. It was apparent from the off that here was a band that could not only stimulate your brain but also put a big shit-eating grin on your face as you jumped about to them. And the now-iconic artwork by Nick Lant—probably his most recognisable piece of work for the band—has adorned countless thousands of jackets and t-shirts since. Recorded over just four days during the heady summer of 1982 and released six months later in January 1983, when it quickly climbed to No. 3 in the UK’s then-important independent charts. This exhilarating collection of songs has endured for four decades with the band still regularly kicking their live set off with the opening track “All Gone Dead”. As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the SUBHUMANS records are still in high demand, and this long-overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. SUBHUMANS are one of the most influential bands from the UK, anarcho-punk scene of the ’80s, filed right alongside CRASS and CONFLICT, and just as relevant today as they were during the darkest days of Thatcher’s Britain. Take your choice in how to label them—punk, UK82, crusty, etc.—therein lies the attraction and consequent reason for their popularity, the band epitomizes non-conformity and connects with people in many different scenes. This album is an essential piece of history in the world of punk that SUBHUMANS helped create. (Pirate Press Records)
  • With their eclectic influences and scintillating musicianship, SUBHUMANS were never going to be content to trot out anarcho punk-by-numbers, but no onewas really prepared for the progressive brilliance of their sophomore album, From The Cradle To The Grave. Whilst the A-side contains nine short-sharp bursts of energised punk gleefully embracing allpoints of the spikey spectrum, from the breakneck thrash of “Reality Is Waiting For A Bus” to the ominous dirge of “Wake Up Screaming,” it is the ambitious title track that really captures the imagination: its sprawling, 16+ minute running time telling the sorry tale of the human life cycle across a myriad of dynamic acts. If anyone was still in any doubt, it was the band defiantly setting out their stall as a creative entity that existed outside the stifling constraints of perceived musical sub-genres. Committed to tape by the visionary John Loder at Southern Studios at the tail end of 1983, it was released in April 1984 to widespread acclaim—and only kept from the No. 1 spot in the independent charts by NEW ORDER! As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the SUBHUMANS records are still in high demand, and this long-overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. Arguably the highlight of their ’80s output, the third SUBHUMANS album was recorded at Woodlands Studio, Castleford, during spring 1985 and released early the following year, a few months after the band had split. Opening with the slightly incongruous instrumental “33322,” what it lacks in rampant speed, it more than compensates for with some truly sublime compositions, assured arrangements, and dizzying time changes. With a front cover illustration inked by vocalist Dick, Worlds Apart saw the band find a veritable sweet spot in their song-writing, spawning many of their best-loved tracks such as “Apathy,” “Businessmen,” and “Can’t Hear The Words,” but every single track on the album remains an understated masterpiece. As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the SUBHUMANS records are still in high demand, and this long-overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. • So named because the CD version originally clocked in time-wise at 29 minutes and 29 seconds, 29:29 Split Vision was recorded in December 1985 just after the band had split up, and they wanted to bring some closure to that period by recording the new songs they were working on at the time alongside some of their older material that hadn’t yet been properly recorded. Whilst the B-side hints at the underlying reasons the band split up—the inevitable ‘musical differences,’ with the three newest songs on the release literally worlds apart (excuse the pun) from their classic material—the five songs on the A-side are veritable belters, and 29:29 Split Vision remains a frustratingly fascinating offering from this most unconventional of punk bands. As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the SUBHUMANS records are still in high demand, and this long-overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. As the title suggests, this 1986 album compiled the eight-track, Time Flies... But Aeroplanes Crash 12” EP, originally recorded and released in 1983, and the four-track, Rats 7” EP, that had been recorded during the summer of 1984 and released in early ’85. Rats might just be the band’s most powerful and compelling release, the title track inspired by the Stop The City protests of ’84 that sought to highlight the undeniable links between first-world capitalism and third-world poverty. Whilst it’s something of a mish- mash,, with several rowdy live tracks and a few, very enjoyable re-recordings of old STUPID HUMANS songs (STUPID HUMANS being guitarist Bruce’s pre- SUBHUMANS band...), it contains two of the SUBHUMANS’ best-loved tracks: “Work Rest Play Die” and “Susan,” the latter something of an oddity as it’s a stirring piano piece with lyrics written by Steve Hamilton, an old friend of the band. As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the SUBHUMANS records are still in high demand, and this long-overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. The EP-LP was originally released in early 1986 after the band had split in November 1985, and collected for convenience the first four SUBHUMANS EPs onto one disc. This includes the fiery, six-track debut, Demolition War, that was first unleashed at the end of 1981, the powerful and provocative Reason For Existence and the perennial Religious Wars, both from 1982, and the intensely angry Evolution, from May 1983, whose title track rages so effectively against the senseless tragedy that is vivisection. Whilst never intended to be released as a full-length album when first recorded, most of the 18 tracks on offer are still staples in the band’s set to this day and hang together very cohesively as an essential body of work. As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the SUBHUMANS records are still in high demand, and this long-overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. A re-issue of the skull-splitting debut full length from Britain's hardcore legends. It came out of nowhere in 1982, this punk rock/hardcore fireball with the bright yellow sleeve. In one sense, The Zero Boys' Vicious Circle was yet another example of how U.S. punk seemed to peak coast to coast that year. But unlike most coastal punk, the Zero Boys were pointing the way to a scene that could accommodate heaping helpings of melody, intelligence, and rock 'n' roll, not just turbo-charged ferocity. From 1979 into ‘83, the Indianapolis based ZBs were the finest hardcore blitz in the Midwest if not all the lower 48 states. Proof is Vicious Circle and the two decades since of copyists, bootleggers, practitioners and reunion concert pogoers. "Though before and after that LP’s 1982 release they recorded the Livin’ in the 80’s 7”, songs for three comps and released the post-mortem History Of... cassette revealing their transformation into a toured band warming to the metaphysical and their demise while still waving torches of rock ‘n’ roll panache. When the Ramones lost it, the Zero Boys found it; Adding a slam brigade fist to the Blitzkrieg Beat. The Zero Boys managed to come with one of the best early 80's punk records, or one of the best records ever, period. Between Vicious Circle and History Of, the entire recorded output of this legendary Midwest punk band’s original line up is, finally, collected." -Culminated from liner notes written by Jack Rabid and Eric Weddle (Secretly Canadian Records)

A No.1 Indie chart topper when originally released in 1981, this was a 10 track mini LP first issued by collectable Clay Records. We’ve added 14 bonus including the Indie Chart hit singles ‘Realities Of War’ (No.5, 44 weeks), ‘Fight Back’ (No.4, 46 weeks) and ‘Decontrol’ (No.2, 44 weeks) to what has already been generally acclaimed as THE UK Hardcore Punk record. The influence this album and Discharge have had on the world-wide Punk movement is impossible to measure – they started a whole genre of “Discore” bands and have been covered by so many Punk and Metal bands (Metallica, Sepultura, Machine Head, Soulfly and Anthrax to name a few) – Punk Rock does not get rawer then this! Formed in 1976 in Edinburgh, Scotland, John Peel favourites The Rezillos were viewed as a punk act simply because they emerged at a specific time in the history of rock. But there was so much more to The Rezillos and their music. Branding themselves a “new wave beat group”, The Rezillos’ music lacked the nihilism and social commentary of many of their counterparts, replacing this with an irreverent glam rock image and a love of science fiction, B-movie, comic book and campy girl group iconography that set them apart from their musical peers. Initially performing mainly ‘50s and ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll covers at their live shows, Rezillos guitarist and future Human League band member – Jo Callis – began penning their own original songs, and soon after came the release of their highly acclaimed debut LP, Can’t Stand The Rezillos, contained here. This classic album is now available in this collectable 2CD digipack release, together with their famous live recording from the Glasgow Apollo on 23rd December 1978 – released at the time under the name of “Mission Accomplished… But The Beat Goes On”. Not only does Flying Saucer Attack contain these two great recordings, but the package also includes all the B-sides and rarities from the band’s first stint as The Rezillos between 1977 and 1979. Includes the hits ‘(My Baby Does) Good Sculptures’, ‘I Can’t Stand My Baby’, ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, ‘Destination Venus’, ‘Top of the Pops’, plus many rarities not included on the band’s initial two albums, such as live versions of ‘Flying Saucer Attack’, ‘Twist and Shout’, and alternative versions of ‘(My Baby Does) Good Sculptures’ and ‘Getting Me Down’. Official Repress of the second TRAGEDY Album on Skuld Releases, this time in the original package of the US Pressing (Tragedy Records) - This is the sound of impending doom! The songs are epic, melodic, powerful and crushing - all at once!! Tragedy is fast and extremely heavy hardcore with melancholic melodies and pissed off as fuck vocals. I would say that this record is even better than their first one, even when I thought that this is not possible. You can taste the athmosphere of the songs, while the music crawls under your skin - awesome! Label: Skuld Records
  • Originally released a mere eight months after their groundbreaking 1978 self-titled debut LP (RAD 8002LP), The Kids' second album is a pure masterpiece of straightforward punk rock. A little less raw than their previous material, but still far from the new wave sounds the band started experimenting with on their following records, Naughty Kids remains one of the best examples of non-UK '70s punk and definitely a mandatory addition to the collection of any Killed by Death fanatic! • FINALLY!!! Re-released on vinyl after almost 40 years! "Originally released in 1982, History Is What's Happening features one of the most harrowing title/cover art combinations in recent memory. What at first glance looks like a firing squad is, upon closer inspection, a concentration camp orchestra. On their second album, The Ex advance into a distinctly more post-punk style: textural guitar shards and tumbling motorik drumming with Bas Masbeck's thunderous bass shouldering much of the melodic load. Railing against political duplicity and the illusory nature of "freedom" in an age of manufactured consent, G.W. Sok offers some of punk's most bracing and memorable agitprop lyrics. These twenty songs are a quick-moving and caustic trip, a DIY studio rendition of the band's explosive live set from this era. History Is What's Happening remains an important signpost in the history of both Ex-evolution and the cataclysmic '80s. With their sophomore LP, the group would put Holland on the underground music map. Indeed, many now-lifelong fans around the world were just beginning to take notice and get down with the mighty Ex." This first-time vinyl reissue comes with 23" x 16" poster and 24-page booklet. Terrie (guitar), G.W. Sok (vocals), Bas (bass), Wim (drums). Recorded at Joke's Koeienverhuurbedrijf, Schellingwoude, Netherlands. Produced by Dolf Planteijdt. (The Ex Records/Superior Viaduct Records)

This classic punk album from these Scots was originally released in 1990, and has been unavailable for years now. 11 cuts of anarcho punk full of ecological issues, anger and Earth power... and classic anarcho pie receipe! "This album was originally released as a vinyl LP back in 1990 on the Words of Warning label. It was a small DIY punk label run by a friend of ours from Wales called Karl. He released quite a few good records until one of his bands got signed to EMI. Although they kept their feet on the ground it seemed that their "success" went to his head a bit and he got- a taste for the commercial "music business". That's something that has never interested us and we totally fail to see any attraction in that whole plastic and rotten world. Anyway, to cut a long story, Karl started to rip off the bands and eventually ended up as a dodgy drum and bass promoter in Bristol - money corrupts. Then a few years ago he re-released this LP on a CD in a really shitty cover with a booklet full of mistakes and no decent sleeve notes or artwork and pocketed the proceeds. So many folks have kept asking about these songs though that we thought it would be good to have this stuff available again but on a decent label and with decent artwork this time [...]" (Oi Polloi, Beltane 2006) (NNNW Records)

Punk parodists Splondgenessabounds achieved more than most in the early 1980s, with three chart hits, including a top-ten smash and another in the top thirty. Formed above a mini-cab office in Peckham, southeast London, they scored a contract with major label Deram through a Battle of the Bands contest, debut single B-side ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ hitting number 7 on the singles chart in June 1980. An equally unlikely cover of Boer War saga ‘Two Little Boys’ hit the top thirty and initial single A-side ‘Simon Templar,’ based on the theme from The Saint, was also popular. This incredible debut album has each of these tracks and so much more, with plenty of fart songs and a closing dub of ‘Two Pints.’ This is the sound of the band at their magnificent best, a pick of the bunch for all Splondgs fans. Michigan's Meatmen followed in the great tradition of the Circle Jerks and were the moronic, offensive, blasphemous, and hilarious face of early-'80s punk. 'Stud powercock' brings together all of the band's original eps, along with demos, live tracks, and a handful of out-takes, including the Jolson-esque demolition of sly stone's 'dance with the music.' here you'll find the Meatmen anthem 'crippled children suck' as well as a sensitive response to the murder of john lennon, '1 down 3 to go.' while their music may not appeal to every listener, the Meatmen are so over-the-top that it's hard not to laugh. Tracks 1 to 6 from Original Demo Tape (1981) Track 7 from "Process Of Elimination" compilation (1981) Tracks 8 to 14 from Blüd Sausage EP (1982) Track 15 outtake from Blud Sausage recording session (1982) Tracks 16 to 23 from "We're The Meatmen You Suck!" THE CLASSIC 1980 DEAD KENNEDYS’ ALBUM, REMIXED FROM THE ORIGINAL MULTI-TRACK TAPES. • REMIXED BY CHRIS LORD-ALGE, GUIDED BY EAST BAY RAY AND KLAUS FLORIDE. • ALSO FEATURING PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN IMAGERY, EXTENSIVE ESSAY AND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM COUNTLESS ARTISTS INSPIRED BY THE ORIGINAL ALBUM • A REMARKABLE SONIC REVISITATION OF THIS MASTERPIECE! San Francisco’s Dead Kennedys arrived onto the post punk scene of the late 70s and early 80s with something to say and an urgent, razor sharp sound. Via two early singles they delivered the classic ‘Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables’ in 1980. In the intervening decades the album has never failed to inspire and challenge everybody who came across it. This new mix, produced by Chris Lord-Alge gives incredible new sonic clarity to those songs, accompanied by sleevenotes from Amy Linden and East Bay Ray, alongside contributions from Dave Grohl, Duff McKagan and many other artists inspired by the record over the years. “We tried one song, ‘Chemical Warfare’. What Chris came back with was amazing. Everyone heard the difference, so we said, ‘All right, let’s go!’.” – East Bay Ray This new 2022 Mix demonstrates the enduring power of this music, and the relevance of its message today. A revolutionary, must-hear experience for everybody familiar with the original! Throughout the 80s and into the 90s, Milwaukee’s Die Kreuzen challenged audiences by pushing the boundaries of what a hardcore band could do, experimenting with sounds far removed from the constraints of the genre. The band broke up in 1992, leaving behind four full lengths, a slew of singles and compilation appearances and an incredible amount of influence. For the remainder of the decade, its members went on to pursue other projects, both musical and otherwise. Meanwhile, the band’s legendary status began to quietly grow amongst musicians and music fans alike. Two classic LP on one CD. 1 - 14 October File, LP (1986) recorded at Multi-Track Studios, Detroit, October, '85. 15 - 34 Die Kreuzen, LP (1984) (Touch And Go Records)

Repress of the first album originally released in 1984 by these pioneers of strictly antifascist skinhead-music from Cardiff. 15 songs, each a killer. Absolutely classic!
