• One of the best and most underappreciated albums to emerge from the legendary Finnish Punk explosion. 013 were an amazing short-lived but hugely influential Finnish band. They were all the more amazing for having a sound and spirit all their own. A truly pure Punk underground sound inspired by the sounds of 77 and 78, loaded with catchy as fuck cool guitars and melodic vocals made every song instantly memorable. The three-piece from Pukkila, Finland, originally appeared on the now sought after collectable Propaganda EP released in 1981 and the legendary Russia Bombs Finland compilation LP released the following year. The band’s only album was the Takaisin Todellisuuteen LP which was released on Propaganda Records in 1983, and the band split up shortly afterwards. Puke n Vomit is proud to announce the only domestic release of one of the best Punk albums you'll ever hear. For Fans Of: Appendix Buzzcocks RUDI The Damned Maho Neitsyt ‎ Label: Puke n Vomit Records

Containing the hits that were only deemed misses by the critics that condemned Oi! as some kind of subcultural fad that favoured football and violence way above the bloody good tunes that should by rights occupy the higher rank, 4 Skins, The Unreleased Radio & Studio Sessions encapsulates that energy at its finest. From formidable swarms of police brutality and political injustice, the underlying (and unyielding) socio-political messages experienced from the streets that resonated with every estranged clockwork skinhead of the day are bound to be ticked on every track. After the atmospheric crash of One Law for Them, dropped in amongst the Radio and blistering Bumper Sessions with Evil sitting squarely in its unpolished centre is the ska-inflected gallop of Seems To Me, an unreleased tune reinforcing the notion that there was more to Oi! than meets the laces. 40x30 cm folded poster included, 1-5: Recorded in July 1981 for radio session that was never broadcast. 6-7: Unreleased single, due to be issued in 1983 (Secret SHH 149). 8-12: Recorded at Bumper Studios in January 1981. 13: Demo. • Another heavyweight of the English scene released on Dirty Punk Records and certainly one of the best known and best Oi! bands ever. Formed in 1979, THE 4 SKINS have released a lot of songs on compilations that have marked the history of Oi! music like "Oi!" the album", "Strength Thru Oi! "Carry on Oi!" »... as well as some cult 7''s. By adding a few rare titles, we were able to release this double album bringing together the best of the band. Everything is there and everything is essential. No extensions with dirty sounding lives or bad rehearsals in a garage, here is gathered all the best of the 4 SKINS. All in a superb gatefold sleeve with beautiful and rare photos of the band and a history of the songs written by Mark Brennan. A wonder to hold in your hands. • Time for another prime dose of potent, chorus-drenched anarcho-punk from one of its finest modern exponents: A Culture Of Killing return with their third album, bigger and bolder than before with a foreboding sense of deathrock gloom dialed all the way up beyond 11. Their usual array of nods are all present and correct (The Mob, Zounds, The Cure), but this time everything feels… grander? More fully realised? Impressive, given their first two albums have been hoovered up and hailed by those in the know, but maybe we should banish any lingering doubts that the mysterious Italian band might be moving beyond merely echoing the classics and closer to creating a new benchmark for the genre. Look, all of this is a very fancy way of saying that ACOK are pretty fucking great and no one else can touch ‘em right now when it comes to this sort of goth-tinged post-punk. New instrumentation, new ways of relating to each other as a band, new ways of grabbing your attention as a listener and making you want to press the record grooves into your brain and use your nerve endings as a stylus. From new wave-styled Burundi beats and furious call-and-response vocals to dubbed-out grooves, there are new influences that are more than welcome in the band’s sound, but the songs themselves are their finest thus far (‘2 Years’ and ‘The Last Train Home’ are simply magical). It says a lot about this LP that it’ll hold its own with the output of both Crass Records and 4AD; it’s a strong step forward that’ll win ‘em new fans and embolden existing ones to say things like ‘best band in the world right now’ and ‘sell your home to buy a copy if you have to’. Especially if you don’t technically own your home. You get the idea. Is there a Crass-shaped hole in your life that’s been empty since you wore out your copy of ‘Penis Envy’? An itch that only the purest of peace punk can scratch? This is the record for you. I don’t use the word ‘essential’ much but… oh, well, I’ve given the game away there, haven’t I? Get it, get it now. Death is raining upon us. Once again the banality of evil is plowing through lives and land. It comes in the shape of man, a mushroom cloud in trousers. What was first an artistic experiment, investigating childhood fears. The dark cloud on the horizon. Looming over us always. Became reality. These six tracks are instruments of terror. Focusing on the inhuman barbarism of humanity. Deafening, blinding, four minute-warnings of heavy electronic mayhem. Programming the synths like Stalin’s organ. Causing radiation sickness. Sonic assault of the mind and body. Hear the siren songs. Sex on red alert. Beware and behave. The Road to Nuclear Holocaust has never been closer. Devastating zynth-slaughter debut LP by Sweden Ä.I.D.S. Six tracks of deafening, blinding, four minute-warnings of heavy electronic mayhem. "I never have and I never will stand on the side of the oppressor. I never have and I never will sell out my integrity for money. I celebrate all humans that stand with me against the oppression of the masses anywhere in the world! When I look at the state of the world, I can’t believe how fucked up it is. If I had to pick one record today that sounds like the way I feel, it would be The Road To Nuclear Holocaust by Ä.I.D.S. Hell fucking yes, this album is an all-out FUCKING RAGER that never lets up! This is what Pure Sonic Fury sounds and feels like and it’s the soundtrack to my past, present, and future! Imagine if Discharge, Killing Joke, and Suicide decided to start a band — the outcome would be 50% of how amazing Ä.I.D.S.sounds. Blast the title track “The Road To Nuclear Holocaust” and the track “Afterworld Trash” then tell me this band is not HARD AF! The “devastating zynth-slaughter” you will come in contact with on this offering will become the soundtrack to y’all’s rage as well! The original release was the result of international DIY efforts avoiding the narrow-mindedness of the Iron Curtain. It also brought together two of the strongest scenes of the Eastern Bloc - Polish and Yugoslavian. All of the recordings were done in Borut Cine Studio, in Ljubljana, during Abaddon's tour of Yugoslavia. Invited by Peter Barbaric, they also played a couple of shows with bands like Pankrti or U.B.R. The "Wet za wet" LP was then released by New Wave Records from France. Because of this, and also thanks to worldwide tape-traders and the band's appearances on comp. tapes like "Noise Behind the Iron Dustbin" or "Cultural Compost Pit", as well as a bootleg split-tape with Rejestracja, they were quite well-known beyond their home country. In Poland, their regular performances at the Jarocin Festival and appearances on legendary compilations like "Fala" and "Jak punk to punk" established the band as one of the classics of the genre. The LP contains 8 fast, direct, and tight Hardcore Punk ragers and a great roots/dub song called "Ljubljana night." Coming from their Polish/Eastern European perspective, the album's lyrics and artwork expressed a protest against any form of authoritarian power - from the brutality of fascism during WWII and the 1981 revolts in Poland, to more current world problems of the time, like Apartheid in South Africa and the global arms race. In the context of Poland's political climate in the 80s, their lyrics and music were seriously impressive. Mastering for the reissue was done from the original sources by Jarek Smok at Studio As One (Warsaw). The LP features a gatefold cover, an additional booklet with an exclusive interview with Tomasz Dorn, drummer of Abaddon and words from Patrice (New Wave Records) and plenty of rare photos (including the work of Michał Wasążnik - one of the best documenters of 80s punk in Poland). All of the lyrics and the interview come with English translations. One of the most classic releases of Polish Hardcore Punk available again on vinyl! Label: Warsaw Pact Records

Originally released in 1985, this is the sole album by Tony Cadenas' own The Abandoned, the band he formed after the Adolescents original break up in 1981. Sounding a lot like Tony's original band but with an heavier Germs influence, and a more metallic, darker, almost Motörhead-esque touch. As long as Adolescents got back on track, right before releasing their mid '80s comeback masterpiece 'Brats In Battalions' this obscure page of California punk rock history got completely forgotten and was never reopened until today. A band that really pushed the boundaries for the time while sticking to their roots, something most bands were not able to do. A must for all California punk rock maniacs out there!  Label: Radiation Records

  • Hailing from Leeds, England and by far the biggest punk band from the area they were seldom out of the Independent charts between 1980 and 1984. Specialising in the sort of massive rowdy choruses that could put an ear-to-ear smile on the face of a dead man. • Previously unreleased two John Peel sessions and a David Jensen session – 16 tracks. Action Pact were a punk rock band from Stanwell, an isolated village right under the flight-path of London Heathrow Airport, inspiring this album title-song. Formed in 1981 by guitarist Wild Planet, bassist & lyricist Dr. Phibes, and the then 15-year-olds drummer Joe Fungus and singer George Cheex, still school-kids when their Heathrow Touchdown EP was released in October 1981. BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel played the single many times and booked them for their first session, recorded February 1982. Signed to Jungle’s Fall Out Records imprint, Action Pact's label debut Suicide BagEP went to the top of the British punk chart in July 1982. Five more singles entered the indie charts including Yet Another Dole Queue Song, and a reworked London Bouncers, along with two albums, ‘Mercury Theatre – On The Air’ and ‘Survival of the Fattest’. A second John Peel session in ‘82 and a David Jensen BBC session in ’83 were also recorded and broadcast – all collected together here for the first time. • Originally released in 1983 on Fallout Records. Their debut album gets its first ever worldwide reissue thanks to Puke n Vomit Records. Amazing catchy blistering Punk with great Post-Punk elements makes this one of the coolest 80s UK Punk albums ever. Originating from Essex, the band formed in 1980 and quickly grew in popularity in part from their energetic performances and catchy songs and the presence of exuberant vocalist Alison ‘George Cheex’ Roberts, Their debut single a split with Dead Mans Shadow was released in 1981, that lead to them getting some seriously heavy BBC airplay courtesy of DJ John Peel. This was followed by their 'Suicide Bag' 7' on Fallout in 1982 and that single quickly climbed the UK Indie charts. When the LP 'Mercury Theatre - On The Air!' was released in 1983 it climbed all the way to #5 on the indie charts. (Puke n Vomit Records)

  • Adventurous southern California punk trio Agent Orange was the first band to mix surf rock with punk. The group was formed in1l979 in Placentia, a small town close to Fullerton and Anaheim, by frontman Mike Palm on guitar and lead vocals, Steve Soto on bass and Scott Miller on drums. That early line up recorded the classic version of "Bloodstains" in 1979 as a demo produced by Daniel R. van Patten (of the group Berlin). A year later it was included on the seminal Rodney On The Roq compilation album released by Posh Boy Records. Meanwhile James Levesque had replaced Steve Soto (Adolescents) and the new line up released their own self produced and self released 7" ep in 1980. A year later, the group signed with Robbie Fields' Posh Boy Records for their debut LP Living In Darkness, co-produced by Fields and former Simpletones guitarist Jay Lansford. The album was recorded at Brian Elliott’s store front studio in North Hollywood (a few years before Elliott struck gold writing Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach”). Trust Records is pleased to announce the deluxe reissue of Agression’s cult classic debut album "Don’t Be Mistaken", in partnership with B.Y.O Records who initially released the album in 1983. Agression were on the front lines as they fused the union between skateboarding and punk rock cultures. Their fast-paced, pummeling songs not only became anthems for generations to come, but their convergence of punk’s anger and simplicity, mixed with the furious speed of hardcore, became the blueprint for all skate punk bands to follow. As they innovated, everyone else imitated. Agression was one of the earliest known bands to be considered “Skate Punk. Founding members vocalist Mark Hickey, guitarist Henry Knowels, and bassist “Big” Bob Clark all skated for the Sims skateboarding team in the late 70’s, forming Agression in 1979. The bands only album Don’t Be Mistaken (1982) featured the song “Intense Energy”, which is one of the earliest known punk songs about skateboarding and skate culture. The cover of that album also featured Arthur Lake skating a pool and was shot by legendary photographer Glen E. Friedman. Based out of Oxnard, California, most specifically Silver Strand Beach, their style of music which they dubbed “Speed Rock” became the template for a subgenre of Hardcore now known globally as “Nardcore”. Emerging from southern California in the early ’80s, Agression is considered to be the pioneers of the unique hardcore punk movement affectionately dubbed “Nardcore,” created by combining the words “Oxnard” and “Hardcore,” which originated in Oxnard, California. Outside of Agression this Southern California scene featured bands such as Stalag 13, Dr. Know, Scared Straight, and False Confession. Don’t Be Mistaken is full of rapid-fire skatepunk rhythm and truly stands as a crowning achievement of the movement. The vocals are literally spit out, and the songs are as melodic as they are thrashy. This masterpiece, originally released by BYO Records in 1983, has been remastered by David Gardner from the original analog tapes. It has been repackaged featuring a beautiful, 20-page, full-color booklet on the oral history of the band from inception through the making of "Don't Be Mistaken," narrated by John Reis (Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes, and Drive Like Jehu). • Remastered from the original analog tapes by David Gardner (Infrasonic Mastering) • Includes deluxe 20-page booklet with exclusive photos, memorabilia, antidotes and the Agression story as told by John Reis (Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, and Hot Snakes). AGNOSTIC FRONT "first warning - the "united blood" era recordings, new york city, 1983" (Radiation) THE 'UNITED BLOOD' ERA RECORDINGS, NEW YORK CITY, 1983' - Controversial east coast punk band Agnostic Front were lynchpins of the New York hardcore scene. Formed in 1982 by former Eliminators guitarist Vinnie Stigma along with vocalist John Watson, drummer Rob Crib Crash and bassist Diego, the band went through several other early members to settle on Vinnie Stigma, bassist Adam Mucci, drummer Raybeez and Cuban-born singer Roger Miret for these recordings. Often misunderstood in their early days due largely to their majority skinhead following and the shock imagery of their record covers, the group carved out its reputation in the dilapidated Lower East Side of Manhattan, then blighty by poverty, drugs, violence and high levels of urban decay. The recordings featured on this incendiary compilation date from the very start of their recording career, beginning with the demos that led to their debut seven-inch release, the self-issued 'United Blood' EP, bolstered by other recordings from the period that were left unissued at the time; some of the material included here later appeared on the 'Raw And Unleased' CD, but several songs are appearing on vinyl here for the very first time. Agnostic Front went on to reign supreme on the New York hardcore scene throughout the 1980s and although later recordings once again saw membership changes that brought a shift in style to include thrash-metal crossover elements, their longevity and high standing is such that they were featured on Showtime's 'The Godfathers Of Hardcore' documentary, ultimately leading to Roger Miret's recently released autobiography 'My Riot'. "AGONI of Stockholm was one of the predecessors of modern D-beat and Scandinavian hardcore, playing in the heavier register such as SVART PARAD, BOMBANFALL, CRUDITY, DNA, HEADCLEANERS, ANTIBOFORS, DISARM, or DISCARD…but in some cases, several years prior to those bands. So, if any of that is of interest, this review is for you, and you already want or have this LP. AGONI was fucking heavy and fast, and pre-any of those categorizations. Just hardcore käng (känga “boot” crust) punk. Grumbling, furious bass and a calamity of drumming and distortion. An intonating furnace of vocals. Classic tumbling intros and tempo changes you hear all the time in a D-beat “Dis” band today. Not just today, ever since the mid-’80s, and all over the world! But AGONI, and their Swedish contemporaries, wrote that skit. The freshness is almost palpable; it sounds so sincerely constructed and musically destructed. The remastering of these three demos(!) and a live 1985 gig is outstanding. Not to get too far off track here, but if you watch ’80s skate videos and you see the look on the skater’s face when they are like, “What the fuck did I just do and land?,” you realize they were inventing something raw and powerful and always went as hard as possible —it was their scene to do so. That is what it’s like to listen to this compilation. Beautiful hardcore in its the purest and earliest form. No carbon copies here, actually writing the often-imitated fill stylings and riffs you hear today, seemingly happening on the exact take you are listening to. Those subtle imperfections in timing and dropping tone that make it so fucking punk. Side B (demo three) moves into their more thrash-crossover material, as bands of this style were doing then, but even their take retains hardcore roots in its hooks. This collection is essential! Alas, all the liner notes are in Swedish. Use your translation app or something, it’s not 1984—and don’t forget your band is not AGONI when you rehearse that two-second raw moment they did, but you’re still pretty good." https://www.maximumrocknroll.com/review/mrr-467/en-rost-for-fred-1984-1986-lp/ 100% Classic Stockholms Mangel! Agrimonia’s sound could be described as the bastard child of the epic, bittersweet sounds of bands like Counterblast and Neurosis, together with the simplicity and murk of bands like Bolt Thrower and Bathory. Thundering death and black metal soaked doom, with hints of crust, as well as atmospheric and epic darkness. The guitars range from devastating heaviness to gloomy acoustic sections, with piercing leads that flash through the darkness "Rites of Separation" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Sweden by Fredrik Nordstrom in the winter of 2012/2013. Non-stop rocker Alien Nosejob, aka Jake Robertson, returns to earth with his second full-length record of 2020, finally bringing the high-octane hardcore punk side of the band to an LP. Hot on the heels of January’s "Suddenly Everything Is Twice As Loud" LP, Nosejob carries on their winning streak and wordy album titles with "Once Again The Present Becomes The Past", which instead follows in the footsteps of the November’s "HC45" 7; merging early 80’s hardcore and late 70’s NWOBHM. "Once Again The Present Becomes The Past" started life as a concept record about Australia’s first and largest air raid, the 1942 Bombing Of Darwin. However, while grappling with this heavy subject-matter, something from Norm Macdonald’s book, of all places, stuck with Jake: "The Present Became Past Again". History is forever repeating itself. It continues to happen. It will happen again. As the record took shape, it was fleshed out with the help of his new reel-to-reel recorder, turning crust and hardcore influences into the dark and cold array of songs documented within. Find out why Alien Nosejob is one of the rare signifiers of both quantity AND quality. 150gr vinyl come housed in a 24pt jacket with lyric insert and download card. Art by Ginklet. Mastered by Mikey Young. Everything else was done by Alien Jake themselves. Label: Iron Lung Records

One of the most familiar faces in the busy Melbourne music scene; Jake Robertson (who you may remember from such class acts as Ausmuteants, Hierophants, School Damage, et al) returns in full-fledged form with another unruly record from his solo alter-ego ALIEN NOSEJOB. Thirteen months on since the hardcore-punk inspired concept album, ‘Once Again The Present Becomes The Past’, Alien Nosejob turns the ship back to front and sails in a new direction, yet again. Paint It Clear mixes sounds of classic 80’s new wave and post punk whilst sprinkling in the occasional disco track on top. But don’t let these descriptions throw you off - it still carries Robertson’s classic screech of cheeky yet witty lyrics and sharp songwriting hooks. After three home-recorded records prior to this, Mikey Young has finally been phoned in to take over the production controls and breathes a whole new way of life into Alien Nosejob. Never before has ANJ been heard in such fidelity. The clarity! The definition! The dynamics! It all shines brighter than ever before resulting in a record that Robertson’s “parents could actually listen to”. There’s a little something for everyone; whether it be 80’s Cure-inspired synths in Duplicating Satan, the robust Devo-like feel of Leather Gunn, the sing-along chorus of Crusader of Coles, or the melodic, minor closer that is Bite My Tongue. There’s even The Butcher; a piano ballad inspired by the Fun Boy Three, showcasing Jake’s skills as not just a songwriter, but a damn fine singer. Paint It Clear is Alien Nosejob’s fourth full length record since 2018 - it certainly proves he a nose for these things. (Feel It Records/2021)
  • This is the band’s 9th studio release and their first new music in 5 years. Produced and mixed by Cameron Webb, Is This Thing Cursed? is the first Alkaline Trio album written almost entirely in the studio. It’s when the songs began to come together that the band noticed the new material forming parallels with Maybe I’ll Catch Fire. According to the band, Is This Thing Cursed? is a cousin or sibling to Fire. Co-lead vocalist and bassist Dan Andriano explains, “the songwriting process is almost like what it was back in the day. We would just kind of write a song, be excited about it, then move on. We wrote in that spirit in the studio. I really feel like we made a record that the old school fans are going to dig.” European version on 180 gram vinyl. (Epitaph / Heart And Skull Records)

All Pigs Must Die is a new band that is rapidly and viciously taking the world by storm! Right off the bat, their pedigree gives them an advantage. Kevin Baker (The Hope Conspiracy) is the throat and Ben Koller (Converge) is the battery. Although the band s members hail from these known modern hardcore/metal acts, they turn their more crust punk/d-beat-driven aggression outward with this band. God Is War is the first full-length studio album by the American metalcore band All Pigs Must Die. It was produced by Kurt Ballou and released on August 16, 2011 through Southern Lord Records. The cover artwork was designed by German illustrator Florian Bertmer. (Southern Lord Records)
  • All Pigs Must Die are far more than the sum of their parts, and their fusion of crust punk, hard core and metal is more ferocious than ever before. The band return with Hostage Animal and an expanded lineup, thanks to the addition of Trap Them’s Brian Izzi. Bound by a shared sonic vision, APMD is comprised of some of the most well-seasoned musicians on the eastern seaboard —Kevin Baker (The Hope Conspiracy), Ben Koller (Converge), Matt Woods, and Adam Wentworth (both of Bloodhorse). Distilling aggressive music to its purest tenets, APMD craft songs that pulverize, gnash, and whirl with a punishing delivery. APMD unleashed their first full length with 2011’s God Is War. The 30-minute rip was a nod to primeval disdain and anger. Exploring facets of human conflict one track at a time, God Is War introduced the world to a whole new spectrum of rage. In 2013, APMD upped the ante with Nothing Violates This Nature. Honing their craft with more speed and filth, APMD pushed their sound closer to the edge of the cliff. 2017 sees the release of APMD’s third full-length, Hostage Animal. Like its predecessors, Hostage Animal was recorded at Kurt Ballou’s GodCity Studio. But that is where the similarities end; Hostage Animal ushers in the most concise, yet dynamic collection of work in the band’s catalog. As a 5-piece, APMD broadens their sound without abandoning any brutality. Drawing from inspirations as diverse as Slayer, Trouble, Morbid Angel (old), GISM, Jesus Lizard, Bathory, Ulver (old), Sepultura (old), Nietzsche, Heidegger, Darwin, pessimism, fear, hatred, paranoia, THC. This is a record that will leave you with whiplash of both body and mind. Label: Southern Lord Records Barcode: 808720024517
  • All Pigs Must Die return with a new skull-crushing opus: NOTHING VIOLATES THIS NATURE. As with the debut album: “God Is War”, NVTN was recorded and mixed by KURT BALLOU at Godcity Studios. APMD is a band committed to uncompromising sonic warfare. Its sound and lyrics assault the listener in a fury of blackened death filled anthems. Owing as much to the Cro-Mags and Discharge as Entombed and Celtic Frost. APMD mix powerful riffs, relentless tempos and a dark presence to bulldoze a grim path of destruction. The NTVTN album contains 10 violence-inducing shredders steeped in utter filth. Aaron Turner (Isis) has lent his nihilistic hand, pen and mind to develop along with the band the dark iconic artwork contained within. Label: Southern Lord Records Barcodoe: 808720017717

Second LP from the project led by Albert Limones (Nosferatu/ Creamers) following on from The Grotto Screams in 2021. Skeletal, brittle and skittish punk. Complex, layered tones with wobbly chorused bass, jagged drum patterns and bristling guitar. Amongst the rubble, 'Limones vocals are everything that hold this together, piercing and primal. Recalling Christian Death, Bauhaus, but Altar of Eden really stand alone The LP sounds like it’s been pulled from some tape archive from 1985. Not that it’s dated in any way. It’s just along the same strand of DNA.. (Drunken Sailor Records)

Perhaps you, like me, have listened to Bauhaus and Killing Joke and thought, ‘Well, this is great, but I wish it was a bit more of a rager.’ Similarly, maybe you listened to The Effigies and Samhain before musing to yourself, ‘Cool, although I thought it’d be darker.’ In other words, it’s occurred to you that deathrock could be a tad deathier and - if it’s not too distasteful of me to say so - rock a hell of a lot harder. Step forward, Altar of Eden. The project of Austin, TX resident Albert Limones (whose bruising sounds you may have heard in the shadowy likes of Nosferatu and Creamers), it’s an unholy marriage of Big Black’s mechanistic rhythms and the serrated, atmospheric noise of yer favourite early ‘80s 4AD types. Tracks like ‘The Abandonment’ absolutely lay waste to your speakers - it opens with a harrowing shriek before throbs of chorusing bass and guitar carve out their own unnerving paths. Somewhere in the distance, a menacing voice can be heard, buried in murk and distortion, with the song operating at breakneck pace and maximum volume - hey, I think our criteria may have been met. Second track ‘Tears’ ups the ante, leaning heavily on atmospheric gloom while pushing the drum machine to the fore, like Clan of Xymox setting up traps for the Slenderman, before the lacerating strafes of guitar on ‘Eternity’ invite the nightmares to truly begin. And that’s just the first three songs - by the time ‘Death in the Country’ gallops to a beautifully discordant end, we’re well and truly bewitched by this wonderful, horrible noise. ‘The Grotto Screams’ was originally released on cassette in April of last year, before finally getting this well-deserved vinyl pressing - one of the first truly essential releases of 2021. Don’t miss out. (Drunken Sailor Records)

First ever reissue of Alternative TV’s "Action Time Vision", compiled in 1980 and featuring the group’s 7“es from 1977 to 1979. Including bonus track "You Bastard" and new liner notes by ATV singer Mark Perry, the founding editor of punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue. What Mark Perry says: "It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Punk turned my world upside down! In July 1976, after hearing and seeing the Ramones, I went from just another music fan, avid reader of the NME and Melody Maker, to become editor of punk’s premier fanzine, Sniffin’ Glue. It was almost an instant success and by December 1976, through our no nonsense approach, our position as the ‘punk Bible’ was assured. But it was never enough for me. As I saw the initial punk explosion subside into a succession of third-rate copycats, I wanted to have a go myself. My first attempt at forming a band was in late ’76. We called ourselves the ‘New Beatles’ and it ended after a couple of rehearsals. It wasn’t until I met guitarist Alex Fergusson, a mate of Sounds writer Sandy Robertson, in early 1977, that I started putting together some more interesting ideas for a band. I worked on a bunch of lyrics and, pretty quickly, Alex had put tunes to them. Eventually calling ourselves Alternative TV, we had our first rehearsals at Throbbing Gristle’s Industrial Studios in March ’77. That initial line-up was just me singing and Alex on guitar, with Genesis P-Orridge helping out on some bass and drums. We did ask Gen to join fulltime, but he decided against it and stuck with Throbbing Gristle. After more rehearsals, we played our first gig at the Nottingham Punk Festival in May 1977, joined by Mick Smith on bass and John Towe (ex-Generation X) on drums. I started thinking about doing a record almost from the start because, by this time, I was running the Step Forward record label with Miles Copeland, who was also to become the band’s manager. It seemed like a natural move to put out my own record, but it instead ended up on Deptford Fun City, another of Miles’ labels. Before that actually happened, we made a slight detour by recording a demo for EMI. They didn’t want to sign us, but we did end up with the tapes…" (Staubgold Records)

"Web of Lies / Death Won’t Even Satisfy is the vinyl debut from this hardcore band from New Jersey, and it is a full-bore scorcher. Ammo plays ferocious US-style hardcore with a lunging, unhinged style that reminds me of groups like early Agnostic Front, Void, and Eye for an Eye-era Corrosion of Conformity… not so much in style, but in the way Ammo sounds like they’re maniacs who might materialize out of your home speakers in order to slash your throat. It’s a rare enough feat to capture this sort of wild energy on tape, but Ammo fuses this crazy energy with memorable songwriting, with tracks like “Black Site,” “Slam Slam Slam,” and “Ethnostate” hitting even harder because they’re so damn catchy. Sounding fast and crazy is Ammo’s forte, but their secret weapon is their ability to play at mid tempo, like on the crushing NYHC-style mosh part in “Known Unknown” and the singalong during the breakdown to the epic “All You Do (Is Want Me to Die).” I love music that expands hardcore’s boundaries, but Ammo isn’t that… they distill hardcore its essence, their sound ground down to the sharpness of a knife’s edge. This is not a record to sleep on." (Daniel Lupton) (Static Shock Records)

Amyl and the Sniffers are a punk band possessed by the spirit of seventies Australian rock. Amy Taylor (vocals), Bryce Wilson (drums), Dec Martens (guitar) are former housemates who formed the band, wrote a handful of tunes and released their debut EP, Giddy Up, all in a span of twelve hours. Completing their line up with Gus Romer on bass, the band take their cues from a diverse bunch of legends including AC/DC, Cosmic Psychos, Dolly Parton and Die Antwoord, setting out to have as much fun as possible. Their 2nd EP, Big Attraction, was released in February 2017, kicking off a stellar year for these young punks. Growing buzz around their blistering live show made the band a hot tip at Bigsound in Brisbane, while the band was added to festival line-ups including Meredith and CherryRock17. The band and were invited to join the Cosmic Psychos on their forthcoming November/December tour and capped off the year with a sellout NYE show at the legendary Tote in their home town of Melbourne. 2018 sees Amyl And The Sniffers ratchet up another couple of gears with their first national headline tour in April followed by UK shows in May, and their first North American tour in June with fellow Melbournians King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. Already renowned for a ball-tearing live show, The Sniffers made their international debut as one of the hottest tipped acts at The Great Escape in 2018. Soon afterwards, they signed deals with both Rough Trade Records and ATO Records, made a massively hyped appearance at SXSW, and finally released their self-titled debut album in 2019, landing them an ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Award for Best Rock Album, capping off a wild year for the lunatic, likeable punks. Late in 2020, Amyl and The Sniffers went into the studio with producer Dan Luscombe to record their sophomore album, Comfort To Me. Written over a long year of lockdown, the album was influenced by and expanded on a heavier pool of references - old-school rock’n’roll (AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Motörhead and Wendy O Williams), modern hardcore (Warthog and Power Trip) and the steady homeland heroes (Coloured Balls and Cosmic Psychos). Lyrically, the album was influenced by Taylor’s rap idols and countless garage bands and in her words ‘I had all this energy inside of me and nowhere to put it, because I couldn’t perform, and it had a hectic effect on my brain. My brain evolved and warped and my way of thinking about the world completely changed.’ Seventeen songs were recorded in the Comfort to Me sessions and the top 13 made the cut. They were mixed long-distance by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and mastered by Bernie Grundman (Michael Jackson, Prince, Dr Dre). Comfort To Me demonstrates the same irrepressible smarts, integrity and fearless candour as their debut but as you’d expect of any young band five years on, their sound has evolved, in Amy’s words it’s ‘raw self expression, defiant energy and unapologetic vulnerability.’ Label: Rough Trade Records Barcode: 1 91402 02501 9

  • Composed of members of hardcore outfits Trapped Under Ice and Turnstile, you might expect plenty of punk rock fury to match the anger of the times. But Yak is very much the calm after the storm of those acts. Instead, erstwhile TUI frontman Justice Tripp guides his cohorts through a breezy selection of songs that echo the explosion of melodic, post-punk U.S. indie-rock of the ’80s and ’90s. ‘YAK: A Collection of Truck Songs’ follows Angel Du$t’s 2019’s album ‘Pretty Buff’ and sees the group channelling an anything-goes philosophy into their tightest, most forward-thinking material yet. Recorded over a two-month period in Los Angeles last year, the album is a rotating smorgasbord of percussion, guitar tones, effects, genres, and influences, fashioned in the spirit of a playlist as opposed to a capital-R ‘Record.’ The album’s 12 tracks span jangle-rock gems (‘Big Bite’), piano-spiked power pop (‘No Fun’), and a breezy duet with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong (‘Dancing On The Radio’). ‘YAK: A Collection of Truck Songs’ also features ‘Love Is The Greatest’, ‘All The Way Dumb’, ‘Turn Off The Guitar’ and ‘Never Ending Game’, all of which appeared on Angel Du$t’s 2021 EP ‘Bigger House’, Breezy but determined as they imbue their laid-back acoustics with sharpness, Angel Du$t continue to prove they are band averse to boundaries. Original press from 1988 on German label Subway Records, not a bootleg! Probably the most important "unknown" band in the history of punk rock, this unfailingly offensive, undeniably brilliant gaggle of rock critics and hooligans went out of its way to offend 99% of society while inspiring the remaining 1% to paroxysms of joy. This early-'80s collection ranks with the band's finest, highlighted by sonic joyrides like "They Saved Hitler's Cock" and "My Old Man's a Fatso." The Samoan influence extends through to 1997, with their songs popping up regularly in sets by bands such as the Foo Fighters (who often open with "Gas Chamber," included here) and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (known to pop off a cover of Back From Samoa's "Lights Out"). • Oakland punk legends Annihilation Time play furious hardcore that builds its sound on the foundation laid down from 1980's California bands like Black Flag, Aggression, and Bl'ast. Formed in 2001 by guitarist Graham Clise, vocalist Fred Hammer, drummer Jamie Sanitate and bassist Chris Grande, Annihilation Time released its debut LP in 2002 and then proceeded to shake up the scene with its rampaging live show, honed by multiple tours of the U.S. and Europe. The band's second release, II, originally released in 2005, stands as an American power punk rock classic, blending together the riffs of Thin Lizzy and Motorhead with the snarl of Spazz and Siege. The sound Annihilation Time created - snotty psychedelic hardcore punk fueled by booze, Vans Old Skools, and lots of drugs - was christened by the band themselves as "creep rock." This LP has it all: chugging fat skate punk riffage, raunchy rock, ear-shredding mid sections overflowing with scorching garage/stoner thrash and a very surreal and psychedelic vibe that's hard to explain. This is the perfect storm of hyperactive metallic-punk and high-energy headbanging!!! What are you waiting for??!?!!?!?? Label: Tee Pee Records Barcode: 707239020617

This release was the 1st output from ANNIHILATION TIME. This is furious hardcore taking from '80s California bands like BLACK FLAG, AGGRESSION, and BL'AST. Featuring artwork by none other than Raymond Petition - this has the look and feel of a band straight out of 1982 Redondo Beach. A must for fans of scorching, atonal lead breaks, frantic vocals, and off-time, start-stop time signatures. Colored repress is limited to 500 copies. (Indecision Records)

What started as a one off project for a bit of fun on the Fuzzbrain Records Compilation LP in 2019, quickly mutated into a fully fledged band made up of four UK heads with plenty under their collective belts: Ben Woolf (Blind Authority, Lawful Killing, Frame Of Mind, Stages in Faith, Layback), Bobby Cole (The Annihilated, Churchgoers), Jon Osbourne (Mastermind), and Ollie Hudd (Fortbragg Zine). When QC heard this ‘demo’ it was so in your face we just knew we had to put it on wax, because this blend of Krackdown and Outburst era NYHC with a still distinct London hardcore sound will blow your fuckin’ face off! Live expect some crazy energy and antics that’s hard as nails. Who else is gonna do a hardcore version of the James Bond theme? Stay warned, friends. Label: Quality Control Records

  • It's with great pleasure that we announce the Swedish raw punk legends ANTI CIMEX have finally reached the joyful lands of Agipunk. On this record we're collecting in chronological order all the demos and the studio recording sessions that haven't been released on any official release so far. A total of 29 tracks that originally appeared on "K.A.A.S January 1982", "K.A.A.S April 1982", "En Produkt Av Dagens Skitsamhälle" tapes plus the studio session right before the "Raped Ass" 7" EP and the discarded recordings for the full length that never saw the light and eventually became the "Victims Of A Bomb Raid" 7" EP. All you Cimex maniacs out there probably already know most of the songs, but you'll definitely find a bunch of extremely obscure tracks which I bet you've never heard before. All the tracks come from the original tapes and the sound has been restored and remastered by Lasse at Ballade Studio in Copenhagen. 1000 copies pressed (500 on Agippunk and 500 on Sonarize Rec.), super detailed insert full of informations and anedoctes. Recorded in Hollywood in a mere three days at the end of 1982 - oddly enough aided by the presence of Joe Strummer who was in the studio the first day of recording- 'Defy The System' is California punk group Anti's second album, considered by most to be at least as astonishing as their debut. Partly played by John Carthy from Alley Cats on drums, and originally released on the New Underground label, this was the second and last chapter in Anti's history, right before singer Danny Dean went on to form his later band Easter with Social Distortion's Mike Ness on guitar. This is pure early '80s California punk rock in the vein of Bad Religion or T.S.O.L. An absolute masterpiece now represented on vinyl, with original artwork and insert, for the first time in 35 years. Label: Radiation Records
